Comparing McCain to Obama:
McCain's donors all give in even dollar amounts.
Many of Obama's donors give in odd amounts with pennies. Was there a particular donor drive asking for odd amounts?
McCain's records are nothing like Obama's, though. McCain's are so clean.
Julia Gorin relayed a funny (/not) story two months ago, her husband’s co-worker wanted to see what would happen if he tried giving a contribution to the obama campaign via a credit card. He used his Macy’s card. The system accepted it. He tried the same with McCain’s campaign, and the transaction wouldn’t go through.
Now, obviously, down the line, the Obama transaction would fail as well, but this goes to show that there is no safety system in place—it’ll just accept any and all $$$, which helps explain how his campaign raised so much more money than everyone else’s.
I had planned to appear at the open hearing down in Somerset on the Flight 93 Islamic Crescent Memorial but the best laid plans of mice, men and bloggers change when Atlas daughter number flies in from London late evening She was on an intern exchange program studying law in the magistrates court and the London Crown. Having been away a month, I wasn't leaving and Alec said he had Somerset more than covered.
I couldn't do 10 plus hours away from sweetness and light. But, I knew
she'd be jet lagged and sleeping very late so I headed off for Times
Square for three reasons.
First, and the most importantly, the Philistines, moonbats, commies, Palis, Islamists, American haters and the godless were staging a "huge" "NO WAR WITH IRAN" rally, that promised thousands of attendees. /not
Secondly, the counter rally- my rally, the Patriots. Gathering of Eagles, many on their
hogs, protest warriors and great Americans gathered to counter the
anti-war protest. I was to be joined by Dan of Gathering of Eagles, Pamela H,
Coretta, Tom D, Urban Infidel .... the best folks.
Latly, Desiree, warrior girl patriot and 911 family member invited me to a concert by the recruiting station. It was a rockin' choir, headed by a most inspiring singer/preacher, Kim Clement, singing and chanting. Fabulous (and I'm Jewish!). Jesus loves New York.
The day was gorgeous. The singing was spectacular. Then suddenly the wind started swirling, came up so fast as the pro Iranian nuke Nazis across the started to assemble (just like last time - "let there be rain!") . Urban Infidel said as she came up from the subway and the wind began to turn it felt like those movies, apocalyptic. It was very freckly and then the skies open up and it down poured. Not a drop all summer and today - boom! Torrents, lightening, thunder until all of the action was over.
Great crowd, happy dancing singing. Wonderful people. They are lovers of America, Israel and were recently at Mt. Carmel with the entire team of "prophetic" musicians
The anti-god crowd whose slogan was "Iran is not the enemy, the US government is the enemy." Hysterical. They don't know how they sound. They say, "we're the great Americans" and there is not one American flag being waved in their crowd. We wave the flag, they. The only flag I saw was the "Pali" Gazan flag
They love to cry about police brutality. What about their brutality. The police ROE's are impossible.
DEATH crowd
The hateful invective of the speakers was vile. The willingness of members to engage in street violence does not bode well for the oblivious masses.
The mentally sick, the pathetic, the haters, the losers, the moochers, the looters, the left, the Islamists, this is their constituency.
It was an ugly nasty crowd. Blaming all the worlds ills on the US. It's "the man's" fault... the big three automakers are laying off workers (how about the burdens labor demands for healthcare, wage increases, seniority etc) It's unsustainable. These folks blamed the boil on their ass on the man
And the their favorite annihilationist chant "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free"
As we made our way to the barricades set up across the street from the America haters rally - this Isalmist came directly up to one of our first women (with family serving in Iraq) who was one of th first behind our barricades and he began screaming in her face and started to physically attack her, completely unprovoked Police scrambled. This guy went off.
And then when subdued, he got on the phone - I guess to file his lawsuit with CAIR.
Patriots arrive! Woo Hoo!
Downpour
the Patriots
Gathering of Eagles
Pint sized great Americans.
Leathernecks.
My favorite bike.
No media at the Christian Choir rally
No media at the Patriots' rally
All the media was stationed at the "Stop the War on Iran" rally ....what about Iran's war on us? Oh yeah, we're the bad guys.
Pelosi adheres to her illiberal fascism in every aspect of her life. It seems she wields her totalitarian "fairness doctrine" far and wide. Lone Pony is reporting that she is scrubbing Amazon of bad reviews - were there any other kind?
Nancy Pelosi had over 100 BAD reviews of her failed book
disappear from Amazon's site yesterday! Ironically, the name of the book, "Know your Power" ... appropriate and is eerily Chavez-like. She must have been inspired by Obama's meticulous scrubbing of his website, the surge, and google's removal of images of his birth certificate. Boy, they sure can clean for folks so dirty. Ain't free speech grand. Screenshot 1
I got a ton of email from folks who couldn't get Atlas on internet explorer -lots of "internet explorer cannot open
this site" error msgs. I get it at your site along w/ many others (eg.
JihadWatch, Gates of Viennaetc. So, I went thru all my sites and it looks like this may be the
problem as described by RedState
Did you see the 29 July 2008 Obama speech in Missouri where he said, "There
are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure
your tires are properly inflated – simple thing. But we could save all the
oil that they're talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just
inflating their tires. And getting regular tune-ups. You'd actually save
just as much!"
Watch the video here (please!). I was ...... dumbfounded. So too apparently were many Atlas readers. The best email was Richards (he suggests the ingenius that the tire gauge should be Obama's new symbol -- replacing his presumptive presidential seal). Stogie, start photoshopping:
That Obama insight or amazing solution for our energy problems should have
brought the audience to its feet with wild applause. This should have been
the lead story on all the network news shows and headlined all the newspapers
the next day. No need to drill for more oil - just put some more air in your
car's tires.
Of course the television news shows and newspapers covered up Obama's
ignorance by not reporting.
But more interesting was the total lack of response from the people sitting
behind Obama. Why didn't they applaud? I think everyone listening knew,
even as the words came out, that Obama was wrong and that if they started to
applaud they would reveal to their friends and neighbors sitting beside them
what ignorant fools they were. Anyone applauding would have suffered a huge
loss of face. Support for Obama could become evidence of stupidity in the
supporter. "If my friends know I favor Obama, they will think I am not very
intelligent."
Where did Obama get this information? Did he dream it? Did he get it from
one of his advisers? Did he over-hear it from someone? Is this information
common knowledge among his advisers? He seemed to believe what he said.
The tire pressure gauge needs to become the symbol of the Obama campaign and
the Democratic party.
That speech should be played over and over until the
first thing people associate with Obama is the line "We could save all the
oil that they're talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just
inflating their tires.", followed by a knowing smile. Support for Obama
should become synonymous with an admission of stupidity.
Conversely, the electric drill should become the symbol of McCain and the
Republicans. Drill in Alaska. Drill along the coast. Drill in the national
parks and forests. Drill in my back yard. Drill in my teeth. Drill in
front of the White House. Drill by the Washington Monument. President Bush
could put an oil drilling rig in front of the White House to show his support
for drilling. He must own a drilling rig, after all, he is an oil man.
People should bring electric drills to political rallies, demonstrations, and
candidate appearances.
Al Gore made a slide show about global warming and received a Nobel Peace
Prize. Obama could make a slide show about how to read a tire pressure gauge
and how to put air in tires - perhaps he too would be awarded a Nobel Peace
Prize. If that's not enough then like Jimmy Carter building houses, Obama
could do volunteer work in gas stations checking the tire pressure on the
customer's cars.
John Kerry threw away his medals to protest the Vietnam war. Any
demonstrations favoring more drilling, nuclear power or coal plants should
include people throwing away their tire gauges. Demonstrations at the
Capital and the Democratic Convention should include people tossing their
tire gauges.
Perhaps you could use an electric drill as a prop in a video about energy, oil
drilling, or gas prices. Drill. Drill. Drill. Go to the beach and drill
in the sand.
lol. So great.
UPDATE: I heard this live .............it was WILD
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House,
turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are
still on the floor talking gas prices.
Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed
the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi's refusal to
schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American
economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment
motion passed at 11:23 a.m., and they are busy bashing Pelosi and her
fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess.
Update: The Capitol Police are now trying to kick reporters out of the
press gallery above the floor, meaning we can't watch the Republicans
anymore.

Pelosi blocks offshore drilling vote GOP wants
Zachary Coile, Chronicle Washington Bureau
Friday, August 1, 2008
For weeks, pressure has been mounting in Congress to approve more
domestic oil drilling, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has held the
line, using her power to block a vote on offshore drilling.
President Bush has made almost daily calls for Democratic leaders to
take action. House GOP leaders, citing a new poll showing that a slim
majority of Californians now favor offshore drilling, issued a release
Thursday saying "even (Pelosi's) own California neighbors oppose her
efforts to block new drilling far off American coasts." GOP lawmakers
are so disgruntled they're urging Bush to deny Congress its August
break by calling a special session on energy.
CONTD...
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack
Obama said Friday he would be willing to support limited additional
offshore oil drilling if that's what it takes to enact a
comprehensive policy to foster fuel-efficient autos and develop
alternate energy sources.
He was against it before he was for it (I think)
"Like all compromises, it also includes steps that I haven't always
supported," Obama conceded. "I remain skeptical that new offshore
drilling will bring down gas prices in the short-term or significantly
reduce our oil dependence in the long-term, though I do welcome the
establishment of a process that will allow us to make future drilling
decisions based on science and fact."
GET THIS BOOK! The Obama Nation by Jerome R Corsi(Swift boat veteran) If you missed Corsi on Hannity TIVO the rerun later tonight. This guy has the goods and Hannity will have him on again tomorrow night.
My apologies to NE readers; Apparently a wave of Obama supporters has “flagged” the Neocon Express as a “spam” sight and have successfully shut us down until Google’s Blogger programmers can confirm that we are not a spam site. The process apparently takes about 48 hours.
Apparently, this is a glitch in the ‘Blogger’ system which allows anyone on the net to “flag” any Blogger site as a spam site. With enough “flags” they can shut down a site until Google manually inspects the site to confirm it’s a legitimate blog and not automated spam. Unfortunately, Obama supporters have been abusing this method which was designed to filter out real net spammers, and have been systematically flagging high profile “anti-Obama” blogs on the vast ‘Blogger’ system as “spam” in order to shut down debate.
I trust that Google will have us up and running in 48 hours as their e-mail to me stated. Again, My apologies; apparently it’s just part of the election “war” that is going on, especially on the internet, so I won’t take it personally. I do think it’s a bad reflection on Obama supporters.
Keep my fingers crossed on Typepad.
UPDATE: Thunder Road is down. Just got this:
Seems someone is scared of the truth as I found this when I went to post
this morning.
This blog has been locked due to possible Blogger Terms of

This blog will be deleted within 20 days unless you request a

This is bullshit as it appears that someone does not approve of the idea of
free speech especially when the speech doesn't conform to their ideas.
I'm always asked: "Why are the milblogs important?" Well we can see the
reason why. We get the message out! We can not allow others to dictate the form
or content of the message. The message must always be the truth, whether they
want to hear it or not.
Regardless of the outcome with Google's review, The
Thunder Run is now in the process of purchasing a domain and finding
seperate hosting services...I suggest anyone else that uses Blogger to do the
same, its something I should have done a long time ago.
With John Donovan's permission I will be posting most of my stuff at Castle

FYI, It looks like I've been tagged as a spam blog. A few days ago I
deleted and marked as spam two "invitations" on my Haloscan comments
area by "Omar" to visit Ikhwnweb . (muslim

I can only guess Omar came back and found his
invitations deleted and then flagged me as a spammer. I've responded to
Blogger who claims they will review Lock and Load and get back within two
days.
Holy shia! The New York Times noticed (well their bits blog did). They are blaming it on Hillary, they got it wrong again. Every blog that I know was not a pro-Hillary blog. The New York in-the-tank-Obama Times.
The bloggers in question, most of them supporters of Senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton, and all of them opposed to Senator Obama, received a notice from Google
last week saying that their sites had been identified as potential “spam” blogs.
“You will not be able to publish posts to your blog until we review your site
and confirm that it is not a spam blog,” the Google e-mail read.
In an article that appeared on Bloggasm.com, the reporter Simon Owens spoke
with some of the affected bloggers, who said they believed that Google had
fallen prey to a campaign by activists supporting Senator Obama. According to
the bloggers, the Obama supporters had clicked on a “flag” on the anti-Obama
blogs alerting Google that they were spam.
If so, that would be an embarrassment for Google. On its Web page
explaining the “flag” feature, Google says that “it can’t be manipulated by
angry mobs. Political dissent? Incendiary opinions? Just plain crazy? Bring it
on.”
The other day Sitemeter attacked Internet Explorer and shut down

contrairimairi@aol.com has drafted a
petition for residents of Illinois that demands an investigation of Barack
Obama's birth certificate. If you live in Illinois please sign the petition,
pass it around to your friends and forward it to her at contrairimairi@aol.com:
We,
the undersigned residents of the State of Illinois, hereby demand that Barack
Hussein Obama produce documentation of American citizenship in the form of a
legal birth certificate. It is our understanding that Mr. Obama has heretofore
refused to produce such a document. The residency requirement for qualification
as a United States Senator includes United States citizenship. Without
documentation, under United States law, Barack Hussein Obama may not legally
qualify to represent the citizens of the State of Illinois. By signing this
petition, we request that the State of Illinois investigate Mr. Obama's
eligibility to serve in the Senate and make his birth certificate public
immediately, and that with continued coverup of documentation, we demand Mr.
Obama's immediate removal from the Senate.
UPDATE: This is getting so out of hand: Mitchell Langbert writes me,
Following of my posting of the Obama birth
certificate petition that Contrarimaiiri posted, Google/Blogspot has Locked Me
out of my Blog. This occurred sometime today. They sent me a message that the
Blog was reported as a spam blog, and they are preventing postings pending their
review of my blog. Since I have been posting my research notes on the blog, I
am busily copying the blog to Word. This suggests dirty tricks or suppression
by the Obama camp
CHANGE! The new totalitarianism
UPDATE: Langbert has been suspended by Google. Is this what the liberal fascists mean by "fairness doctrine"? Langbert has written the following:
Dear Friends:
I have been using blogspot for about a year and enjoy it very much. I am a professor of business at Brooklyn College and include notes from my academic reading as well as political blogs that are somewhat controversial on my blog, www.mitchell-langbert.com. I have had over 7,100 individual views since March 23, 08. I happen to be a Republican and favor John McCain for president. I have blogged some anti-Obama blogs, nothing that ought to be problematic from a offensive content or similar kind of concern. However, somehow, right after I got an increase in traffic from some blogs I did on the Obama campaign, my access to the blog was blocked due to an allegation, which was of course false, that my blog is a "spam" blog.
I just looked at Pamela Geller's Atlas Shrugs blog and there is a message on it that Obama supporters have been reporting any blog that is Republican or anti-Obama for President as a "spam blog", in effect utilizing your control procedures to suppress free speech on your site. I do not believe it is a coincidence or due to "robots" that my blog, which is about 3/4 academic writing, was shut down on the same day that I did some blogs on Obama and there is a message on Pamela Geller's blog from someone else who also got shut down over an Obama-related blog and that this is due to a computer program rather than abuse of your firm's control process.
I am not a techie and do not offer any solution, but I would suggest a check on reporters of "spam blogs" and on blogs that have been reported as spam blogs for any similarity of content to previously reported blogs and also that, if you are receiving reports, that you forestall false accusations of this kind.
I have long been warning of the agenda Google pursues. Too long. Well they have really come out of the liberal fascist closet on this one. BTW, got a gmail account? I wouldn't. They are a dangerous company. Go here and scroll. This is proto-typical of the left. They cannot compete - they cannot debate. What is this but a club to the tenets of free speech? What is the fairness doctrine but a club to the free market of ideas?
The following is an update on this post: OBAMA: TERROR BLOGS CHECK! COUNTER JIHAD BLOGS DELETE! ANTI-OBAMA SITES BLOCKED!
Google Shuts Down Anti-Obama Sites on its Blogger Platform hat tip JJ
-By Warner Todd Huston, Town Hall
It looks like Google has officially joined the Barack Obama campaign and decided that its contribution would be to shut down any blog on the Google owned Blogspot.com blogging system that has an anti-Obama message. Yes, it sure seems that Google has begun to go through its many thousands of blogs to lock out the owners of anti-Obama blogs so that the noObama message is effectively squelched. Thus far, Google has terminated the access by blog owners to 7 such sites and the list may be growing. Boy, it must be nice for Barack Obama to have an ally powerful enough to silence his opponents like that!
It isn't just conservative sites that Google's Blogger platform is eliminating. For instance, www.comealongway.blogspot.com has been frozen and this one is a Hillary supporting site. The operator of Come a Long Way has a mirror site off the Blogspot platform and has today posted this notice:
I used to have a happy internet home on Blogger: www.comealongway.blogspot.com. Then on Wednesday night, June 25, I received the following e-mail:
Dear Blogger user,
This is a message from the Blogger team.
Your blog, at http://comealongway.blogspot.com/, has been identified as a potential spam blog. You will not be able to publish posts to your blog until we review your site and confirm that it is not a spam blog.
Sincerely,
The Blogger Team
It turns out that there is an interesting pattern where it concerns the blogs that Google's Blogspot team have summarily locked down on their service. They all belong to the Just Say No Deal coalition, a group of blogs that are standing against the Obama campaign. It seems the largest portion of these blogs are Hillary supporting blogs, too.
All I can say is, WOW! If Google is willing to abuse its power like this even against fellow leftists, what does it plan against conservatives, the folks Google hates even more!?
UPDATE: More and more blog suppression .........go HERE!
I
recently wrote a response
for Jihad Watch, which also appeared on Atlas, to a blog post by war reporter
Michael Totten in Commentary magazine online, titled “This is a Kosovar Muslim” and showing a photo of a Kosovo
Albanian wearing a pro-USA sweatshirt.
The
following morning, Dr. Andrew Bostom ,
author of Legacy of Jihad, forwarded an exchange he had with Totten
about his Commentary post (it starts with Totten’s response to Bostom’s initial
query):
TOTTEN:
You do know that the majority of people here are atheists, right? There is no
religious state or religious majority. “Dhimmi” does not apply to anyone here.
The local troubles are ethnic, not religious. Catholics are very deeply
respected. It is the Serbs and the Orthodox who are not, thanks to Milosevic and
his apartheid and ethnic cleansing regime.
You are
never going to understand this place through a Muslim/infidel
lens.
BOSTOM:
Do you think “secular/atheist” Kosovo will join the OIC [Organization of the
Islamic Conference], which has clamored for its
creation?
TOTTEN:
I don’t know. But I wonder why you are putting “secular” and “atheist” in
quotation marks. Do you actually believe most people are religious Muslims? I
wish we could have this argument in Prishtina. It would be a different argument.
BOSTOM:
Not only don’t you know (why you don’t know, or won’t at least hazard your best
guess is one question), you apparently don’t think the question is relevant,
when what actually happens may be pathognomonic of the problem of creating truly
secular Muslim societies in the first place…Can’t you see that? The OIC serves
one primary purpose: Islamization. Why would a secular society need to join such
an entity?
TOTTEN:
Albania joined in 1992, and Albania is overwhelmingly atheist, even more so than
Kosovo which is also majority atheist. I’m done arguing with you about this,
Andrew, unless you come out here.
BOSTOM:
It probably won’t register with you, but “secular” (NOT!) Turkey — which has
progressively re-Islamized since the Menderes government was elected by
pandering to an Islamic revival in 1950, and now has an openly fundamentalist
govt which represents a majority fundamentalist populace — is a major player in
the OIC, and a (rather vile) Turk heads the OIC.
Again, I
ask you, why would any truly secular nation be part of the
OIC?
Let’s
start with Totten’s most embarrassing and callous but commonly used canard about
the Serbs: “It is the Serbs and the Orthodox who are not [respected], thanks to
Milosevic and his apartheid and ethnic cleansing regime.”
In
addition to U.S. policy analyst Martin Sletzinger’s casually stated comments
that it is “nonsense” to think that Kosovo’s becoming a country has something to
do with Milosevic’s supposed oppression — and in addition to the fact that when
Sletzinger started working in Congress in the 1970’s, the Albanian lobby was
“giving us maps of Iliria, which included Kosovo, half of Macedonia, a good
portion of Montenegro, and of course Albania” — we also have Andy Wilcoxson
laying it out in this
post:
On April
2, 1981, rioting erupted in Kosovo. Nine people were killed and scores injured
as police broke up a mob of 10,000 ethnic Albanian demonstrators who were
rampaging through the streets of Pristina smashing shop windows and destroying
factory machines. The demonstrators, some armed with guns and firing at the
police, pushed children in front of them to make it more difficult for security
forces to disrupt the march.
The
Yugoslav Government said the rioting was the “worst outbreak of separatist
demands” since World War II, and imposed martial law to bring the situation back
under control. Eyewitnesses reported that cars and trucks were overturned and
burning in the center of Pristina while the army guarded public buildings and
ambulances toured the streets to pick up the injured.
The
separatist nature of the rioting was clear to one and all. When the New York
Times reported on it their lead paragraph read: “Yugoslav tanks and troops took
up positions today in a province in the south to put down anti-Government riots
by Albanian separatists … the separatists want to unite with Albania, the small
and selfisolated Communist country on the Adriatic.”
According
accounts published in the Washington Post, the demonstrators were said to be
chanting “Long Live Enver Hoxha” along with slogans demanding Kosovo’s
unification with Albania. … Things flared up in Kosovo a month later when
Pristina University was forced to close its doors amid student demonstrations
demanding Kosovo’s unification with Albania.
In 1982
Becir Hoti, an ethnic Albanian official in Kosovo’s ruling Communist Party,
explained the situation quite well. He told the New York Times: “The
nationalists have a two-point platform. First to establish what they call an
ethnically clean Albanian republic and then the merger with Albania to form a
Greater Albania.”
This is
significant because today’s Western narrative claims that the Kosovo-Albanian
population wants to secede from Serbia because they allegedly suffered
mistreatment under the rule of Slobodan Milosevic.
That
thesis is exposed as fallacy because Slobodan Milosevic’s political career
didn’t even begin until 1983, when he took a job as economic advisor to the
mayor of Belgrade…Kosovo-Albanian separatism had already erupted violently in
1981 and 1982 — long before the public even knew who Slobodan Milosevic was.
Totten’s
State Department ventriloquism reminds me of this unbelievable sentence from a
November email from, appropriately
enough, a “Wilhelm”:
The
reason orthodox churches are burnt is only due to their identification with
Milosevic-type politics not because Albanians are Muslim let alone them being
extremists.
What
this airhead is saying is that as the Albanians increasingly expose their
long-awaited designs on the region through, among other things, the ongoing,
viscerally carried out destruction of Orthodox churches eight years after the
Serb-led ouster of Milosevic, we should instead believe that this has something
to do with the 1990s decade, and not with the similar attacks on Serb holy sites
in Kosovo that went on for a century before that, including during WWII when
Greater Albania was undergoing a similar ascension, under the sponsorship of
Adolf Hitler. Like Totten, Welhelm wants to believe that the desecration and
destruction of thousand-year-old churches by Albanians not only has nothing to
do with religion (despite the demonic-like zeal with which Albanians pried off,
by hand, the crosses from the churches during the 2004 pogrom), but it doesn’t
even have to do with the ethnic intolerance which preceded Milosevic and which
tripled after his ouster — that is, after the Albanians were “freed”.
Never,
never has the world seen such a persistent, widespread, irrational and singular
hatred as that reserved for Serbs. Even age-old anti-Semitism doesn’t compare,
given that there are so many thinking, fair-minded people who don’t engage in
it. In contrast, people who otherwise have minds make sure not to use them when
Serbs are involved.
Notice
Totten’s insistence on continuing to use the term “ethnic cleansing” in
reference to Kosovo regardless of how many times and ways that notion has been
debunked — including by every major U.S. paper in late 1999 after Americans lost
interest in Kosovo, and most recently by documentation I provided in my Jihad
Watch response to his piece. But Serbs aren’t worth the trouble of a mouse
click.
On
Totten’s ventriloquism regarding the religious question — “There is no religious
state or religious majority…The local troubles are ethnic, not religious.
Catholics are very deeply respected” — here is Chris Deliso on Kosovo’s direction, based on developments in
long-independent Albania:
Perhaps
the most significant emerging trend in the case of Albania is the rise of
internecine strife based on religious difference. Rallying a decade ago under
the nationalist banner of “one nation, three religions,” the paramilitary KLA
claimed support from Muslim, Catholic, and Orthodox Albanians during its war in
Kosovo. Today, while most Albanians still do feel their ethnicity strongly,
religious tensions have nevertheless been growing. In october 2003, police
arrested author Kastriot Myftari, charging him with inciting religious hatred
against Muslims for writing that Albanian Muslims should convert to
Catholicism. … In the northern, Catholic majority city of Shkodra, which
borders on Montenegro, mutual provocations between Catholics and Muslims are
suddenly emerging. A cross was put up in the city, and then mysteriously
vandalized in January 2006. And when civic leaders decided to honor national
hero Mother Teresa with a statue, three Muslim groups — the Association of
Islamic Intellectuals, the Albanian Muslim Forum, and the Association of Islmaic
Charities — publicly protested. The [Albanian Muslim Forum], which allegedly
supports interfaith relations, declared that a statue of one of the world’s most
renowned humanitarian figures would be a “provocation” to Muslims, and that the religious situation in
Shkodra was “not so calm.”
Deliso
also explains that “the end of the national question in Kosovo is the beginning
of the religious one, as new challenges to the social and clerical order arise
from radical Islam.”
Regarding
Catholics being “deeply respected” in Kosovo: Aside from Catholics and Muslims
having some deep roots in eliminating Serbs and Jews together during WWII, I
addressed Kosovo’s religious “pluralism” in my blog post titled “Kosovo’s
Religious Pluralism“, which demonstrated, among other things, how an
Albanian Catholic priest felt more in common with, and was better to, Albanian
Muslims than his Croatian Catholic flock. Because the point is Albanianism Uber
Alles. Until it isn’t. As Jim Jatras reminds
us:
Typically
these begin as what are represented as “national liberation movements,” the
desire of a group of people described in national or ethnic terms — Algerians,
Afghanis, Kosovo Albanians, Pakistanis, Palestinians, Iraqis, etc. — to have
their own independent national state. But at some point — either after achieving
that goal…or in the process of the “national liberation” struggle…the movement
shifts to a primarily Islamic jihad orientation, in which the national element
is downplayed and the jihad element is emphasized. This transition coincides
with the marginalization or elimination of the non-Muslim social elements
(Christian Arabs, Albanian Catholics, etc.), some of whom may have been militant
supporters of the first, national phase but who will have no future in the
Islamic new order.
But
apparently the big picture is irrelevant to Totten, who is interested only in
what he observes on the surface and two feet in front of him. Trends? What’s
that? Indeed, what is all this nonsense about the Islamization of the world and
a caliphate forming? You don’t see me wearing a burqa, do you?
Some
tensions appeared after the war. In its December 1999 report, the Organisation
for Security and Cooperation, OSCE, said that following the withdrawal of
Serbian troops from Kosovo, ethnic Albanian fighters of the Kosovo Liberation
Army, KLA, were harassing Catholic Albanians over their alleged lack of
commitment to the KLA cause.
The OSCE
report said: “Catholic Albanians and evangelical groups have faced continued
intimidation and harassment.” It went on: “A common feature of many attacks was
the underlying intention to force minorities to leave and/or to ensure their
silence through fear. This strategy was effective.”
According
to a US State Department report for 2003, certain Catholic-populated areas
within Kosovo had previously been “under suspicion of collaboration with the
Serb regime,” adding: “Such suspicion was fuelled by the fact that Catholic
Albanian villages suffered relatively little damage during the conflict.”
[Indeed, clearly they weren’t doing enough for the
KLA terrorists/separatists.]
The
Catholic Church in Kosovo condemned ethnically-motivated riots in 2004 when
dozens of Serbian Orthodox Churches and other properties were damaged or
destroyed. “I felt ashamed after what happened in 2004. We were under some
pressure as well,” said a Kosovo Albanian Catholic who has since moved to
neighbouring Montenegro.
Gosh, I
wonder what made him move out of Kosovo. But notice that this Albanian feels
shamed by the actions of his fellow Albanians, and considers them reprehensible.
Too bad Totten can’t be as honest. But then, Serbs deserve to suffer, according
to Totten’s first paragraph at the top of this post. Note also that bullying of
Catholics in Kosovo didn’t start only after the war, but was practiced in the
70s and 80s as well, and many of the Albanians who moved out of Kosovo (often to
Serbia) along with the Serbs who were fleeing in those decades were Catholics.
From one
of my earliest articles on Kosovo, based on an interview with a Jew who was
raised there (Branko, whose brother is Slobodan):
Slobodan’s
best friend, Bardy, was a Catholic Albanian married to a Serbian woman. “He had
just called me a few months ago,” Branko reminisces, “because he was so excited
about his new dog — a Rottweiler, like so many in America have. When the KLA
came in with NATO, he was killed, just for not being a ‘good’ Albanian.”
Another
friend, a Serb named Ilija, died while an “internally displaced person” in
Serbia, from what Branko calls “sorrow and anger.”
The Serb
Ilija, the Albanian Bardy, and the Jew Slobodan were three best friends who got
married on the same day, alternately serving as one another’ s best man.
As for
Totten’s point about most Albanian Muslims not being religious, surely we don’t
have to explain that a Muslim doesn’t have
to be religious to sympathize
with the cause and buy into the universal Muslim sense of aggrievement. He also
states above that there is no religious majority, which is strange, given that
about 95 percent of Kosovo is Muslim. That these Muslims are still recovering
from their communist-imposed atheism is irrelevant. But it shouldn’t be too long
a process, given that Islam is a popular religion among recovering atheists.
Does Totten think that Kosovo lends itself to Islamic indoctrination less than
Russia, where “especially the atheist groups are gradually getting
inclined towards Islam because of extensive propaganda and activities of the
Islamist NGOs.” And here is something related from a 1994 article in the London
Chronicle by former Thatcher adviser Sir Alfred
Sherman:
[I]t
should be noted that in Britain and Western Europe, individuals and groups
faithful to Moscow’s line in world affairs for years, though mainly atheist,
inexplicably back the Muslim fundamentalist government [of
Bosnia].
Incidentally,
does Totten think that the Bosnia war we abetted, which brought Bosniaks
exponentially closer to Islam, doesn’t have echoes in the Kosovo war we
abetted?
Totten’s
shrug at Albania’s membership in the Organization of the Islamic Conference,
meanwhile, is also worth noting. Like I said, all thinking is suspended if the
subject is the Balkans. Here was the OIC upon Kosovo’s
“independence”:
RIYADH
(Reuters) - The Organisation of the Islamic Conference has welcomed Kosovo’s
declaration of independence, saying it would be an asset to the Muslim
world.
“Kosovo
has finally declared its independence after a long and determined struggle by
its people. As we rejoice in this happy result, we declare our solidarity with
and support to our brothers and sisters there,” Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the head
of the OIC, said at the opening of a meeting in Dakar on
Monday.
“The
Islamic (umma) nation wishes them success in the new battle awaiting them, which
is the building of a strong and prosperous state capable of satisfying its
people. There is no doubt that the independence of Kosovo will be an asset to
the Muslim world and further enhance joint Islamic action,” he said in comments
sent to Reuters.
It
doesn’t matter if both we and the Albanians take Totten’s advice and steer clear
of seeing “this place through a Muslim/infidel lens.” The umma certainly sees
Kosovo through a Muslim/infidel lens — as was the premise of Deliso’s book and
the reason for its title The Coming Balkan Caliphate.
“‘Dhimmi’
does not apply to anyone here,” Totten admonishes Bostom. Aside from the fact
that one can be a dhimmi just to the Albanian violence being threatened should
their cause not be promoted to its conclusion (as that Hungarian parliamentarian
demonstratedwhen he explained the awarding of a state to an
intolerant population by saying “we’re afraid of them”), what do you call the
populations (Serbs, Croats, Roma, Jews and
even Gorani
Muslims) who are at the mercy of their Albanian-Muslim “hosts” in the event
that the armed KFOR guards blink?
Beyond
that, there is this fact: Even if dhimmitude weren’t being imposed by the master
population on the untermenschen in its mist, or on the master population’s
Western benefactors, that doesn’t mean people won’t behave as dhimmis
preemptively, of their own accord (we are seeing this everywhere now) in an
attempt to please the wider population of Masters. We started calling Albanians
‘Muslims’ and declaring the Kosovo project to be about the U.S. creating a
Muslim state in Europe even when the Albanians didn’t — with Tom Lantos asking
Muslim countries and jihadists to take this action into consideration, and
outgoing Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns hailing support for Kosovo from the OIC and “happily claiming
that a ‘vastly majority Muslim state’ has been carved out of Serbia, a European
Christian country.”
Which
brings us to a phenomenon that I’ll call Dhimmi Irony. Because despite our
efforts to please our masters, only five out of
57 member states of the OIC (which includes a “Palestine” that would benefit
directly), have recognized Kosovo’s independence:
More and
more countries are getting ready to recognize Kosovo’s independence, but many
are hesitant, including some Arab and Muslim countries despite Washington’s
appeals to display solidarity with Kosovo Muslims.
During a
briefing on Kosovo after its declaration of independence, Under Secretary for
Political Affairs Nicholas Burns welcomed the recognition of this step by the
Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), and hence, by the governments of
its member countries. He said: “And we think it is a very positive step that
this Muslim state, Muslim majority state, has been created
today.” … Today, the most urgent issue is whether Kosovo will create a
precedent for other territories. This is why many Muslim and other countries do
not rush to accept Kosovo’s independence. The United States hoped for Islamic
solidarity, but in vain.
Only
three [sic] OIC members - Turkey, Afghanistan and Senegal [plus Albania and
Burkina Faso] - have recognized Kosovo’s independence out of almost 60 members
of the organization. Others have adopted a wait-and-see attitude because of the
potential threat of a domestic split, or destabilization in neighboring
countries. … For the time being, no politician in these conflict-prone
zones has loudly expressed readiness to follow Kosovo’s example…Kosovo’s
independence is threatening primarily because a decision on it was made without
a UN Security Council resolution. It is solely based on the support of the
United States and some European countries. In other words, political
circumstances have prevailed over international law.
To
close, here is a blogger lamenting the lack of Muslim solidarity in walking the
Kosovo walk and not just talking the talk:
With the
new government one hopes Kosovo is recognized sooner rather then later. The
above map shows the countries which have recognized Kosovo in blue. The ones who
are expected to soon are shown in yellow. It is startling how many countries in
the Middle East are still to recognize the country.
By the
way I do not support how Kashmir is shown as a part of India in the map. I got
the map of a website called ‘Kosovo Thanks You.’ The Kosovons of all people
should know about the struggle for freedom of the Kashmiri
people.
For a
laugh, here is a comment under the post, from
“Kosova_girl”:
Pakistan,
Pakistan, Pakistan….cmon people, support your muslims brothers and sisters. I am
sooo dissapointed by the lack of recognition by so many muslims countries. Oh
and then we wonder why are muslims always oppressed.
UPDATE August 2: The media cannot report a straight story when it comes to Serbia.
Apparently, CNN decided that they didn't have enough video of rioting
in their recent story on unrest in Belgrade, Serbia, so they decided to add in
footage of rioting in Budapest to sexy up the story. I have to say, if the
Kosovars intend to make the cut with CNN in the future, they'd better start
rioting to the satisfaction of CNN's video editors. Either that, or CNN can
start showing us all some truthful video with their stories. Whatever the case,
CNN's misstep doesn't just make them look bad, it makes all Americans
look bad.
On July 30, CNN aired a report in their international news titled "Serb
Ultranationalists Rally" in which footage of riots in two different cities and
two different countries were edited together to represent the unrest in Kosovo.
Serbian TV was a bit mystified by this embellishment, and rightfully so. RTS
asserted that since CNN didn't have violent enough footage for their riots
story, they "resorted to their favorite Hollywood trick" of "montaging and
pasting together the sequences from Budapest and Belgrade protests" to accompany
the story. (See foreign language report from Serbian RTS TV)
Naturally, since the original airing and posting on the Internet, and since
people began to ridicule CNN for the melding of video of riots in different
countries, CNN has removed the video without comment. Making matters worse, many
now see a conspiracy where they originally just saw incompetence.

UPDATE Deb sent me this radio clip comes from the 30 July 2008 BTR
broadcast of NO WE WONT PUMA radio -- between the 50-60 minute mark.
Speakers are Riverdaughter (asking for info) and Nancy A (answering).
Listen here: Download 20080730
Listened to the NO WE WONT (the PUMAs) BTR radio show
last night, and they interviewed Mary A. (No Quarter writer) about
Obama's connections to ACORN. Very damning stuff, and she is continuing
to research it.
The particular thing I want to mention to you is someone asked Mary A.
about the bundling of contributions. Mary A. discussed this for a few
minutes, but she did not say anything was proven, but it is being
looked into.
The rumor is someone was at an Obama headquarters (not sure where), and
observed a series of homeless people going into the headquarters and
emerging later and heading straight for a public library. The suspicion
is these homeless people are being given $50 ATM cards and instructed
to donate $40 of it to Obama's campaign USING A NAME SUPPLIED TO THEM,
and then allowed to keep $10 of the money for themselves. The people
looking into it are connecting the activity with several small
donations being made under the same name on the same day. This sounds
like what you're looking into with the overseas contributions.
"You Jews should be aware: You will never, but never have peace with Hamas.
Islam, as the ideology that guides them, will not allow them to achieve a peace
agreement with the Jews. They believe that tradition says that the Prophet
Mohammed fought against the Jews and that therefore they must continue to fight
them to the death."
There can be no "peace" process. There is an enemy bent on the annihilation of the Jews.Until it is crushed, there can be no peace. That is the ugly reality Israel must face
A moment before beginning his supper, Masab, son of West Bank Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef, glances at the friend who has accompanied him to the restaurant where we met. They whisper a few words and then say grace, thanking God and Jesus for putting food on their plates.
Masab knows that he has little hope of returning to visit the Holy Land in this lifetime.
"I know that I'm endangering my life and am even liable to lose my father, but I hope that he'll understand this and that God will give him and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and to Christianity. Maybe one day I'll be able to return to Palestine and to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God."
It takes a few seconds to digest this sight: The son of a Hamas MP who is also the most popular figure in that extremist Islamic organization, a young man who assisted his father for years in his political activities, has become a rank-and-file Christian. "I'm now called Joseph," he says at the outset.
[....]
Send regards to Israel, I miss it. I respect Israel and admire it as a country,"
he says.
"You Jews should be aware: You will never, but never have peace
with Hamas. Islam, as the ideology that guides them, will not allow them to
achieve a peace agreement with the Jews. They believe that tradition says that
the Prophet Mohammed fought against the Jews and that therefore they must
continue to fight them to the death."
Is that the justification for the
suicide attacks?
More than that. An entire society sanctifies death and the suicide terrorists.
In Palestinian culture a suicide terrorist becomes a hero, a martyr. Sheikhs
tell their students about the 'heroism of the shaheeds.'"
FLORIDA VOTERS: VOTE THIS JEW HATING JEW OUT OF OFFICE. When will the Jewish lay leadership stop acting like the
damn Judenrat of Germany and start actively advocating and
campaigning for great Americans - lovers of Israel, America and the
those unafraid to confront our mortal enemies. American Jewish lay leadership seem to be escorting us onto the trains (excluding ZOA of course).
How fortunate for Florida that they could throw that bottom feeder
Klein out and have an extraordinary thinking hero take over the helm of
the 22nd district.
Last Thursday (July 24th), the president of the Zionist Organization of America,
one of America’s the most respected of Jewish-American organizations, called
ZOA South Florida organization chairman Alan Bergstein and gave him an
ultimatum: stop his volunteer work for West or resign from his ZOA post.
According to the West campaign, “it was made clear to Bergstein that Ron Klein
was necessary to pass congressional legislation important to ZOA and to Israel.
ZOA has an obligation to its membership to ensure that their issues are
considered, so the national office clearly felt it had no choice but to deliver
the message to Mr. Bergstein.”
Think about it for a minute, experts:
if Klein is sending a signal for someone to do give an ultimatum to a campaign
volunteer for West, does it not follow that he is somewhat concerned about the
Republican challenger?
In March, ZOA had arranged a joint appearance
between Klein and West. Two days before the scheduled event, Klein said he was
unable to attend and asked ZOA to cancel the event. The group refused, the
event was held, Allen West did speak, and it was very well-attended.
And
Bergstein? Upset that (in his words) “a Jewish congressman has to threaten
Israel and world Jewry by whining over one person’s activities, Bergstein chose
the better part of valor, resigned his position with ZOA, and will work hard on
the West campaign.
I have passed the report of the ZOA and West on to
others, including the Republican Jewish Coalition and Rep. Eric Cantor of
Virginia, the lone Jewish Republican in the House. Their response will be
interesting—as will those of the political “experts” the next time we review the
races.
Allen West responds:
We believe that Mort Klein was put in an untenable position by Ron Klein or his supporters. Alan Bergstein was given the choice of resigning from either the ZOA or from his volunteer support for Allen West. We are not aware of any Ron Klein supporters who received a similar phone call.
Mr. Bergstein resigned under protest from the ZOA. To our knowledge, no mention was made of tax status concerns but even if the question had been raised, the remedy offered was an over-reaction.
Mr. Bergstein honored the group's rules when he set up the candidate forum that started this ball rolling. Allen West appreciated the hospitality extended to him by the local ZOA and also honored their rules in his comments to them.
This argument is not--and should not be--between Allen West and the ZOA. It is more properly directed at Ron Klein, without whose inappropriate pressure this would not have occurred.

July 31, 2008: Israel is desperate to get some kind of anti-missile system in place to protect against rockets being fired out of Gaza by Hamas. Right now, a top candidate is the U.S. land mobile version of the Phalanx anti-ship-missile weapon. This system, called "Centurion" was originally developed four years ago, as "C-RAM". That's why the Israelis want it now, because similar systems developed in Israel will take several years to perfect, and angry voters will not give politicians that much time. Centurion is ready now.
Centurion is basically the Phalanx naval gun system with new software that enables it to take data from its own, and other, radar systems, and shoot down just about any kind of artillery shell or rocket within range (about 2,000 meters). It uses high explosive 20mm shells, that detonate near the target, spraying it with fragments. By the time these fragments reach the ground, they are generally too small and slow to injure anyone. At least that's been the experience in Iraq.
The original Phalanx used 20mm depleted uranium shells, to slice through incoming missiles. Phalanx fires shells at the rate of 75 per second. Another advantage of Centurion, is that it makes a distinctive noise when firing, warning people nearby that a mortar or rocket attack is underway, giving people an opportunity to duck inside if they are out and about.

The latest jawdropper: there is a large contributor in the 'G's'. Largest. Name
is Monir Edwan. City is Rafah and the State is GA. You'd think GA is for Georgia. IT'S NOT! There is no Rafah, Georgia. It's Rafah, GAZA. Although election donor data indicate Georgia, USA.
The file attached has both Monir & Hosam Edwan. Both from Rafah. Both over the allowed spending limit. Here is the file: Download EdwanDetail.xls.
It details Edwan's contributions, totaling $24,321.41. The contributions are all to Obama the candidate. Different files for the party or committees.
Our source of the data is from the FEC site. Presidential download file zip. Named ALL. Dated 6/30. Here is the link unzipped. It is the basis for everything submitted. Thanks, Cathy!
UPDATE: First off, I will be filing a complaint with the FEC - either alone or through an organization. Cathy found more detail:
There's more: Note these receipts are not inclusive of all the
information in the FEC detail file.
In October of 2007:
Hosam receipt dated 10/30/07 is for $956.52 (general contribution) his
Election Cycle total as of this date is $5,387.13. On the database this amount

July 31 (Bloomberg) -- A man in Canada was stabbed to death
and decapitated on a Greyhound bus by a stranger in the seat
beside him, the Globe and Mail reported.
The victim, about 18 years old, was sleeping with
headphones on when his seatmate began stabbing him in the throat
with a hunting knife, according to a passenger sitting in the
seat in front of them, the newspaper reported. The attacker then
cut off the victim's head and brought it to the front of the bus
after the other passengers had rushed off, the Globe said.
Police arrested one man following a stand off at about 1
a.m. today, the newspaper said. The bus was traveling from
Edmonton to Winnipeg, Manitoba
UPDATE: I emailed the reporter. The police have not released the name of the beheader or the victim or if the victim was wearing some identifiable religious symbol BUT there are a lot maniacs out that to lunatic shiz. DEVELOPING STORY.
UPDATE: Waiting for verification of details on who and why. Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day called the attack bizarre, but did not discuss details, saying he did not want to jeopardize the investigation.
The man wielding the knife had a shaved head and was wearing sunglasses, he
said
"He looked totally calm. He didn't say a word I don't think to anybody on the
bus ... nothing. Just totally calm." (here)
A 22-year-old Winnipeg man who was the victim of a gruesome murder aboard a
Greyhound bus was a fun guy who loved tattoos and working out, according to
tributes on two social networking Web sites.
A number of groups on the social networking Web site Facebook are paying
tribute to
Tim McLean as the victim of a horrific stabbing and decapitation.
"He was a great person, he was kind, thoughtful, and he did not deserve
this," Jossie Kehleer, the creator of one of the Facebook groups, wrote on the
page. "I feel for his parents and sisters and his (little brother).
RCMP said Friday that Vince Weiguang Li, 40, of Edmonton, has been arrested
and charged with McLean's second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in
court in Portage la Prairie, Man., Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
Li - described by his employer in Edmonton as a “normal guy” who may
have been going through marital trouble - makes his next court
appearance Tuesday.
Despite being in police custody since 1:28 a.m. Thursday, as of Friday evening, Li had refused the advice of a lawyer.
RCMP said that, to date, their investigation has found Li has no known
criminal record. Veteran Crown lawyer Larry Hodgson will prosecute in
the case.
Li is being held in a Winnipeg detention centre and is under constant video surveillance.
Hodgson said Li will have to undergo a psychological assessment
to determine whether he is fit to stand trial. He said there’s no
indication there’s a language barrier in communicating with Li, but
he’s been equally uncommunicative with police, only saying ‘yes’ or
‘no’ to their questions.
Hodgson said that in 18 years of public prosecutions, he’s
never dealt with a case with “the horrific details of what we’ve all
been hearing . . .
He plead guilty? According to the Koran, he's innocent. Al-Shabnan's arrest came after police alleged he
covered up an incident in which a 5-year-old girl attending the school
reported that she was being sexually abused by her father.
According to court papers, Al-Shabnan, 52, of McLean, told police that
he didn't believe the girl, and advised the girl's parents to put her
into counseling. But state law requires school authorities to
report alleged child abuse within 72 hours of learning of the
allegation.
This director of this school curriculum included 12th-grade text on Quranic
interpretation that taught students that it is permissible for Muslims to
kill adulterers and converts from Islam, according to the investigation
by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, a panel
created by Congress that monitors religious freedom rights around the
world.
Aformer school valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali was convicted of
joining al-Qaida after leaving the school and plotting to assassinate
President Bush.
The director of a Saudi-funded Islamic school in northern Virginia
accused of promoting religious hatred has pleaded guilty to failing to
report suspected child abuse.
Abdalla Al-Shabnan, director of the Islamic Saudi Academy, was fined
$500 after pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor count alleging that
he failed to inform authorities about suspected sexual abuse of a
5-year-old girl who attended the school.
Prosecutors dropped an obstruction of justice charge.
A federal commission reported last month that the school's textbooks
promote intolerance and teach that it is permissible for Muslims to
kill adulterers and those who convert from Islam.
(IsraelNN.com) An Israel Railways employee was beaten Thursday by a group of Arab youths.
Ronen, a
rail inspector for the national carrier, reported that a group of young
Arabs confronted him at his guard post at a railway crossing near
Atlit, demanded his weapon, and savagely beat him when they discovered
he was unarmed.
Ronen can barely speak, as the
attackers fractured bones in his face and body. Ronen's parents,
speaking to police on behalf of their son, conveyed Ronen's account of
the attack, as well as their horror at the result: "I arrived at the post and saw that it was full of blood," Ronen's father said. "I was certain my son had been murdered."
The attack is believed to be "nationalistically" motivated, which would define it as an act of terrorism.

From IOwnMyVote.com
newsletter comes a verrrrry interesting letter from a long-time DNC donor
who has become dissatisfied with this cycle’s candidate.
The following is a letter sent to Democratic National Committee Treasurer
Andy Tobias telling him why, from a rational investor’s point of view,
Obama has not earned the author’s
vote. The letter was sent by one of the DNC’s biggest donors, a
donor who has historically maxed out to the DNC and who was a maxed out donor in
both the Kerry and Clinton campaigns, in response to comments by Tobias that she
could not see the forest through the trees.
So you want to know what is taking me so long to “get on board”? Let me try
to answer with some discussion of what my 25 years on Wall Street and the Hedge
Fund community have taught me, and what insights I can share in order to explain
my stance.
As you know, anyone in our profession meets with countless management teams
on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The “plots” change from time to time
and the cast of characters play musical chairs. After awhile, they become all
too familiar. You have seen the movie before. When you spot the corrupt CFO
enter the scene, it immediately casts a doubt on the rest of the management
team. One or two conclusions can be drawn - either they are inept or they wanted
a dishonest player. Neither answer provides any comfort, but always insight. I
have been lied to by the best of them over the decades; I am sure you have had
similar experiences.
After years of stepping in land mines, I learned to read people and
situations. I had no choice - my listening skills were honed, my gut fine-tuned.
I picked up on what was and was not said, and I always paid close attention to
the cast of characters. The actions of a management team always told me more
than anything they ever said. If they were bailing out, so was I. If the head of
sales left unexpectedly, alarm bells went of.
In the thirteen years that I have had audited results, I lost money in only
one year, and then only in single digits. I am proud that I was able repay my
investors’ faith and confidence in me by compounding their funds assets, net of
fees, at 18% over those 13 years. I took my responsibilities seriously and when
I knew I could not give it 110% of my energies, I turned it over to someone who
would. My investors deserved someone who would work tirelessly on their behalf,
looking under every rock in support of their interests.
The fact that I became successful is not what made me proud. It was how I did
it. My soul is intact. It was the self-imposed rules and standards that I
adhered to. I believed in a win, win, and still do. My investors always came
first. I never screwed anyone over. I made plenty of mistakes, but I always
owned them, never blaming others. I treated everyone fairly and with respect,
believing everyone has something to offer. I always tried to do the right
thing.
So what does this have to do with me not falling in line and supporting
Obama? Well everything as you can see.
Andy, if I worked and served the people in the 13th District in Chicago, I
would have known all of the players. And to win that district, would I have
gamed the system to run unopposed? Tony Rezko would not have had a seat at my
table. Either Obama is a fool and is blind to what should have been obvious, or
someone like Tony is fine by Obama’s standards. The guy is a dirtball. And a
dirtball would not be part of my circle, certainly not my inner circle. I would
rather not be elected than associate with someone like Rezko.
I would not choose Rev. Wright, Rev. Meeks, or Father Plager as my spiritual
mentors, not for political reasons or any other reason. Again, he is either
blind or an opportunist. Would I be hanging out with Mr. Ayers? Would you? Would
you refuse to be photographed with Gavin Newsom? There is a pattern with this
guy - he manipulates; and for him the ends justify the means. He lacks
character.
Getting not one bill passed in the first 6 years of his career in not
inspiring. Having Emil Jones hand him the ball 26 times on the one-yard line in
order to make Obama a United States Senator does not cut it either. What deals
he made, he did to benefit no one but himself. He never worked long enough in
either Senate to help the people who elected him. Andy, I could never imagine
you taking credit for legislation someone else slaved over. Starting in his
community organizing days he claimed sole responsibility for other people’s
accomplishments all for the purpose to boosting his career.
In terms of the campaign itself, I had the opportunity to witness his methods
up close. During the primaries I was in 6 states, 2 of which had caucuses; it
was not clean. El Paso was a joke with the Obama campaign stealing the caucus
packets, locking supporters out - Intimidation 101, 102 and 103. Fair elections
do not seem to be a priority in my birth state. No other machine exists from the
days of Boss Tweed, but Chicago’s. How many elected officials are in jail? They
are the joke of the nation. It is called the Chicago machine for good
reason.
It was clear that what I saw and experienced was not a fluke or isolated
incidents, but coordinated, deliberate and arrogant. I got to see him and his
organization for who he is and what it is - not inspiring, to say the least. Not
something I would have, in business, endorsed in any way. In fact, I would most
likely have reported them to the appropriate regulators.
Andy, I have consistently found you to be a compassionate person, but more
importantly you have always put your money where your mouth is. Does it not
bother you that a guy like Obama can serve a poor district and give away a
paltry $1000 to charity? He only stepped up his giving when he decided to run
for President and he knew his charitable giving would be made public. How could
anyone see that much misery and not try to personally do something about it?
Please, show me something this guy ever did that was not done in a calculated
fashion to create and advance his own personal narrative? Something selfless,
perhaps, just because it was the right thing to do.
Every person I have talked to who worked at the Law Review at Harvard with
him, or in the latter part of his career, said the same thing: he was arrogant
and self-centered. One person laughed, saying Obama wanted to be King of the
World, that he was always running for something, never staying in one place long
enough to amass accomplishments or be held accountable.
Do you not you find it troublesome that he has hundreds of paid bloggers,
posting vicious attacks not only about the Clintons but her supporters as well?
The whole purpose was to cast him as the second coming, while trashing her and
quashing other points of view.
At first I thought is was just some hyped up kids, and then a pattern
emerged. He paid others to do his dirty work. The most egregious sexist cracks
were rampant, both on the Internet and the MSM. Yet, what did Howard and Obama
say? Nothing. Obama promoted it, paid his bloggers to write it. Never once did
he try to stop it. Howard, after the damage was done finally commented on it,
but barely. Wink,wink.
Andy, I heard remarks that still make my jaw drop.
You know I consider myself a centrist. The right wing of the Republican Party
scares me, but so does the left. Ideologues of either side should not have
control simultaneously of the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of the
government. Absolute power corrupts, be it on the left or the right. Ha, but you
will say…. the courts. If you have the legislative branch, all will be fine.
McCain voted Ginsberg in, he is not a stupid man and certainly not an Ideologue,
and he took heat in the primaries for refusing to have a litmus test for judges.
And need I remind you that Obama thought Roberts was an acceptable appointment
until some more experienced hands in the Senate told him that would not do?
Painting him as Bush 3 is a little annoying, and what’s up with the MoveOn
Baby Alex commercial? Give credit where credit is due. McCain went against his
own party twice on immigration reform, on ethanol subsidies, and campaign
finance reform. He started talking about Global warming 8 years ago. I don’t
agree with McCain on a number of topics, but I do believe he has principals and
a backbone. He is not willing to just say anything to get elected.
I can’t say the same for Obama who is turning out to be more like Bush than
McCain; Obama is at least as arrogant as W, just more polished. Are you not
ashamed, in these past weeks, of his reckless abandon of any pretense to a moral
center on issues such as FISA, separation of church and state, gun control? And
what he did to one of my heroes, Wes Clark? Insulting my intelligence and my
standards will not win me over.
But, in this conversation, you will say, McCain wants to be in Iraq for 100
years. No, he said that as in Japan, or Korea, we could have a presence. We have
been in both of those countries for 60 years and not leaving any time soon, and
the world is safer for it.
Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak said Wednesday that the resignation of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will not endanger peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority. What does that mean? What does "peace" mean? The end of Israe? Is this man sick? And they want Israel to distribute laptops to Gazan children? To what end? To spread the jihad?
Palestinian
children on annual vacation can choose between Hamas or Islamic Jihad summer
camps, both of which boast militia-style training, Koran classes, lessons on
political prisoners Ali
Waked
In the Gaza Strip, as in Israel, children are currently in the
midst of summer vacation, and the Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s “summer camps” are in full gear. In the past few weeks,
the Palestinian groups have been holding camps throughout the strip, some of
them proudly displaying rockets and other weaponry.
Learning Tools
A laptop for every Palestinian child / Itamar
Eichner
US-based pro-Palestinian organization asks for
Israel's help in distributing 1,000 laptop computers to Ramallah schools in
order to improve Palestinian children's learning techniques
Hamas
alone is currently conducting no less than 300 summer camps for tens of
thousands of children, and the focus is on familiarizing kids with the
Palestinian towns and cities destroyed in 1948, as well as instilling religious
fervor in them. The camps also feature sports and military-type trainings such
as crawling under barbed-wire.
Islamic Jihad has also launched its own summer camps, offering some
10,000 children activities similar to those of Hamas. The kids study passages
from the Koran and participate in quizzes on religious matters, with emphasis on
the required commitment to political prisoners and Palestinian land. They also
learn how to hold a Qassam rocket-launcher.
Talk about talking down to the electorate. The folks should be insulted by shiz like this from arugula boy.
Wait it gets better .....check out this new talking point. oy
Andy Borowitz: Obama Leads McCain in Frequent Flyer Miles In what some political insiders are calling a major victory for the presumptive Democratic nominee, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) easily surpassed his GOP rival, Sen. John McCain, in total frequent flyer miles for the month of July. ...
Obama's exploitation of the wall was despicable. Donald Sensing received the following response from Rabbi Daniel Jackson of Israel when asked about Obama's "prayer" publicity stunt. The Rabbi says what have been saying all along (here and here) only better.
I would also say that Ma'ariv's rather outrageous claim that prayer
of non-Jews don't enjoy privacy protection at the Wall simply will not hold up
before rabbinic responses. One, there is a very deeply-rooted and truly genuine
piety attached to prayers at the Wall, where (I dare say) almost all Jews
understand that the prayers of Gentiles are honored by God as perhaps no other
place on earth.
Frankly, I find the whole seminary student (which seminary and which
denomination) thing spurious and would not be surprised that Obama and company
DID front the leak. An Orthodox person would never tamper with the
prayer/petition of anyone. In fact, if anything has the status of a KORBAN
(sacrifice) in our day it's that little piece of paper put in the Wall. When the
prayers are cleaned out each year, they are treated as all sacred texts (torn
prayer books, photocopies of Talmud, anything printed or written of sacred
value) and buried in a Jewish cemetery. Moreover, the sanctity of a folded note
(e.g., a letter in an envelope, sealed or not) is protected by Jewish Law--as in
Thou Shalt Not Peek. In fact, that's the inside joke in Hamlet that the two Jews
are too stupid enough to look inside the letter they are carrying to know that
Hamlet as switched notes and 'sealed' their fate. Observant Jews don't peek.
It's against the Law.
As for Ma'ariv, they were scooped by the British
tabloids and Ha'aretz: see here. Ma'ariv
also has a reputation for salaciousness that is unrivaled in The Land. Obama
& Co had campaign posters stationed outside the inner area along the barrier
as part of their photo-op. The whole thing smells of stunt. Never before has a
personal prayer at the Wall, since the time of Hannah, been made public. It
truly is a violation of Jewish Ethics. Unless this person knew exactly WHICH
piece of paper was Obama's (did they search through ALL of the notes where he
put them?), the only way to know is if it was leaked before hand. Like a
magician's slight of hand, the Obama Crew knew before he put the note in the
Wall what was in the note since they already had the text.
Naw; the whole
affair smells and looks like the Duke's Tank Helmet. McCain acted like a
mensch--he was visiting a friend's place of worship. In fact, the YouTube video
with Lieberman is very symbolic--here's a Republican going to worship with a
Democrat/Independent. From a Talmudic script, the appearance of two members of
opposite political parties setting aside differences to pray together, and the
non-Jew seriously watching 'how it's done' the Jew, is quite
impressive.
There is a story in the Talmud about the proper intention of
prayer (Jewish sources say the first to pray in a modern sense is Hannah). An
OLD rabbi was praying when a Roman Official passed by and hailed the rabbi. The
rabbi continued to pray and not respond to the Roman. The Roman became outraged
and demanded that the old Jew answer him. He summoned his guard. When the rabbi
finished his prayers, the official demanded an explanation. 'If you were
standing before the Emperor while giving a report and someone hailed you, how
would you respond?' 'Why, I'd finish my report and wait for Imperial dismissal.'
'So it is with me standing before the King of Kings, The Holy One, Blessed Be
He.'
Timing is key here. From my limited time sequence, the note was
released AFTER the photo-op turned sour. Sort of an attempt to say: look what he
said. What is truly deplorable in Ma'ariv's response to this is that because
Obama is Jewish, it doesn't matter if he did release the contents. In fact,
because he DID release the contents shows complete contempt to both Jewish
culture but to the entire essence of prayer itself. If Obama wishes to offer a
public prayer--fine. But first to appear making a personal prayer and then
publicizing it (it's okay, I'm not Jewish so I do not have to respect THEIR
customs) is deplorable.
The fact that this issue is getting so many hits
shows that to anyone looking at this situation, regardless of belief or creed,
there is concern about the ethical nature of the man. In Israel, it is a done
deal. Since 1967, dignitaries have come to the Wall, reached into the box for a
"had-to kippa", and were photo-oped. But no one has had the chutzpah to
broadcast what was in the note. But, on the other hand, no one is really that
concerned--unlike some Democrats, Israelis are still waiting for the
Messiah.
Sensing adds, "The whole thing is gummed up even more. yesterday, Eugene
Volokh reported that Ma'ariv says it never claimed what Haaretz says it did.
Follow? One does wonder why Ma'ariv, being a newspaper, would make a statement
through a competing newspaper, rather than just print it."
UNITY! HARMONY! BRINGING THE FOLKS 2GETHUH. This guy is going to set off race riots. The irony is Obama's ancestors would have been the enslavers not the slaves. Obama's strategy is to make the whole race about race.
"I
think the reparation we need right here in South Carolina is
investment, for example in our schools. I did a town hall meeting in
Florence, South Carolina, in an area called the corridor of shame.
They've got buildings that students are trying to learn in that were
built right after the Civil War. And we've got teachers who are not
trained to teach the subjects they're teaching and high dropout rates.
We've got to understand that there are corridors of shame all across
the country. And if we make the investments and understand that those
are our children, that's the kind of reparation that are really going
to make a difference in America right now."
UPDATE: Does it mean anything that Black Americans have the highest standard of living in the world? Is his angry wife proud of that?
I guess the Jews have an real ax to grind with Egypt. 400 years!~
UPDATE: Obama is all about race. I believe America has no desire to go back in time 50 years:
ABC News has video of Barack Obama telling voters in Missouri today:
Nobody really thinks that, that, that Bush or McCain have a real answer for
the challenges we face. So what they are going to try to do is make you scared
of me. You know he--oh, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You
know, he doesn't look like all of those other presidents on those dollar
bills.
I'm sure the Washington Post is hard at work on a front-page story debunking this scurrilous and unfounded
accusation.
Hear o Israel!!! The corrupt, dhimmi, lying lowlife is stepping down He has much to answer for. He must have read our oped piece :) . This snake is spinning it. He says it's for the good of the country. Why then did he not resign after the Israel/ Hezbo war.
Whatever. Israel, who you elect will decide your destiny. Purge the Jewicidal left.
Exactly as predicted we predicted, Ehud Olmert has
announced the inevitable, that he will not run in the
Kadima primaries that he is forecast to lose anyway.
This will enable him to delay the inevitable as long
possible and remain Prime Minister until the bitter
end.
Ironically, he is preening that he is doing this for
the good of the country.
Hatikvah!
You just know this snake cut a deal - you watch. Facing jail, I am sure he negotiated some dirty deal in exchange for leniency on his damning corruption activities.
You can't make this stuff up. No, seriously. One has to wonder what the pick up line might be. If all chadors look alike, how do these hot fellas know who or what they are propositioning? Maybe it's their grandma. Our friends, the Saudis.
Saudi Arabia's religious police have announced a ban on
selling cats and dogs as pets, or walking them in public in the Saudi capital,
because of men using them as a means of making passes at women, an official said
on Wednesday.
Othman al-Othman, head of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the
Prevention of Vice in Riyadh, known as the Muttawa, told the Saudi edition of
al-Hayat daily that the commission has started enforcing an old religious edict.
He said the commission was implementing a decision taken a month ago by the
acting governor of the capital, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, adding that it
follows an old edict issued by the supreme council of Saudi scholars. [now there's an oxymoron].
The reason behind reinforcing the edict now was a rising fashion among some
men using pets in public "to make passes on women and disturb families," he
said, without giving more details.
Othman said that the commission has instructed its offices in the capital to
tell pet shops "to stop selling cats and dogs".
The 5,000-strong religious police oversees the adherence to Wahabism -- a
strict version of Sunni Islam, which also forces women to cover from head to toe
when in public, and bans them from driving.
An anonymous contribution is limited to $50. Any amount in
excess of $50 may not be used for federal election purposes. 110.4(c)(3).
I have been pouring over docs from Obama's foreign contributions and it's rotten. As I pointed out here, there are way too many overseas contributions and I find it hard to believe they are all
American citizens. $500,000 came into the campaign via “not employed” people. How does the FEC monitor that?
Ranging in value from 75 cents to $250 (well over the anonymous limit)
there are 81 donations from all the world (and this is just in the
document I have been analyzing). It is rather suspicious that all 81 anonymous donations are devoid of any identification information. My file on anonymous donations: Download Atlas-AllAnnonymous.pdf
For example, there are two donations on sequential on the 13th and 14th of February of $250 $250 by anonymous country "information requested" no employer no occupation. Again, over the maximum allowed for anonymous contributions.
Mind this list is not complete. I have no idea how much more there is.
If one lists by city, there is $223,000 from "information requested" (meaning no info) city. Helloooooooooooo. These are some big donations. Download Atlas-Allindividualdonations.pdf
Single Donors from overseas that exceed the legal limit: [UPDATE CORRECTION -$4,600 is the legal limit--$2,300 for primary, $2,300 for general.]
Single amounts from $4,600 from Margaret Vento (homemaker) on the 8th of June 2007 her country and state was unidentified. [Can she donate $4,600 to the primary race?]
There 5 donations of $4,600. There are three individuals Philip Ryan who works for Credit Suisse, London and he gave four separate donations:
On 31st of March 2007, he gave $2,300.
Then on the 29th of September he gave $2,300 which was then "given back" and on the same day gave he gave $4,600.[Again, this esceeds the primary limit]
Philip Ryan of London gave of total of $6,900 in the year 2007.
The next bizarre donor is Richard Baumann (UK lawyer) has a total of 29, yes folks, 29 transactions. Seven of which are negative. And the balance of which are of course positive.
The total of $4,850 over the legal number. Strangely enough, the all date January, February, May of '08. They range from $25 to $2,125.
The ban on political contributions and
expenditures by foreign nationals was first
enacted in 1966 as part of the amendments
to the Foreign Agents Registration Act
(FARA), an “internal security” statute. The
goal of the FARA was to minimize foreign
intervention in U.S. elections by establishing
a series of limitations on foreign nationals.
These included registration requirements for
the agents of foreign principals and a
general prohibition on political contributions
by foreign nationals. In 1974, the
prohibition was incorporated into the
Federal Election Campaign Act (the FECA),
giving the Federal Election Commission
(FEC) jurisdiction over its enforcement and interpretation (more here)
During the current election cycle, individuals may contribute up to
$2,300 per election to Federal candidates. Contributions of cash which exceed $100 from
one person are prohibited. If a committee receives a cash contribution exceeding $100, it must promptly return the excess amount to the contributor. If an
anonymous cash contribution over $50 is received, the amount in excess of $50 must be used for some purpose unrelated to federal elections.
Contributions made by one person in the name of another are prohibited.
No person may knowingly permit the use of his or her name to effect such a contribution. It is also prohibited to knowingly assist someone in making or to accept a contribution in the name of another. It is also unlawful to knowingly permit the use of one's name to effect a contribution in the name of another or to help someone make or accept such a contribution.
ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
The treasurer of a committee is responsible for ensuring that all contributions
are lawful.
11 CFR 103.3(b). If the treasurer has reason to suspect that a contribution
is excessive or prohibited, he or she must, within 10 days of receiving the
contribution, either return the contribution to the donor or deposit the contribution.

Atlas reader Cathy has been indispensable in helping to track
Obama's very questionable campaign donations. She found a one mother of
a red flag. There is a large contributor in the 'G's'. Largest. Name
is Monir Edwan. City is Rafah and the State is GA. You'd think GA is for Georgia. IT'S NOT! There is no Rafah Georgia. It's Rafah GAZA. Although election donor data indicate Georgia, USA here: Donation Details: Adwan, Monir | Rafah, Georgia. There ain't no such place in the land of Georgia peaches.
The file attached has both Monir & Hosam Edwan. Both from Rafah. Both over allowed spending limit. Here is the file: Download EdwanDetail.xls.
It details Edwans's contributions totalling $24,321.41.The
contributions are all to Obama the candidate. Different files for the
party or committees.

We knew that Obama's ties to Auchi ran deep and he was in Rezko's pocket. This man can't helm the greatest force for good in human history. This is a very dirty guy.
Hundreds of millions in deals with candidate's associates
JERUSALEM
– Sen. Barack Obama's office engaged in six months of negotiations with a
company controlled by convicted criminal Tony Rezko to lobby the U.S. government
to push through a nixed $50 million contact to train Iraqi security personnel at
a site in Chicago.
The contract was awarded to Rezko's company while Aiham Alsammarae, a
long-time, close Rezko friend and a contributor to Obama's campaign, served as
Iraq's U.S.-appointed electricity minister.
Rezko was a major Obama
fundraiser and associate for two decades.
Alsammarae also awarded another Rezko-controlled operation as part of a $150
million contract to construct a 250-megawatt electricity plant in Iraq.
Alsammarae later was arrested by Iraqi authorities for bilking the coalition
government out of some $650 million. He was sprung from prison under
questionable circumstances in 2006 and escaped from Iraq, where he is still
wanted for questioning with regard to major financial crimes.
The information raises questions into the nature of Obama's relationship with
multiple deals made by Iraq's Electricity Ministry while Alsammarae was in
charge. Obama has ties to Alsammarae and to the recipients of several of the
massive contracts Alsammarae handed out.
[...]
WND
reported Alsammarae posted more than one-third of Rezko's jail bond earlier
this year, putting up as surety his $1.9 million Chicago home and two other
properties.
Alsammarae contributed the maximum allowable donation of $2,300 to Obama's
campaign, sending money six times in January, February and March. Obama donated
the funds to charity in April, only after Alsammarae posted bond for Rezko.
As electricity minister, Alsammarae not only granted a Rezko firm the $50
million security training contract but also approved a contract with another
Rezko company, Rezmar, to construct a 250-megawatt plant in the Kurdistani city
of Chamchamal. That contract was granted to both Rezmar and the London-based
General Mediterranean Holdings, which is headed by British billionaire Nadhmi
Auchi, who was also involved in a large real estate deal in Chicago with Rezko
and others around Obama.
Auchi, a former Baathist who left Iraq in 1979, was convicted in 2003 in a
French court of corruption in an oil deal that stretched back to the Saddam
Hussein regime. Auchi denies the charges.
Auchi could not be reached for comment
In another connection to Obama, when Alsammarae was jailed in Iraq in 2006,
his Chicago-based family reportedly contacted Obama's U.S. Senate office for
information. Obama's office passed a written request to the State Department
about Alsammarae Oct. 16, 2006, and received a reply from the U.S. consul in
Iraq about a week later. The reply was forwarded by Obama's staff to
Alsammarae's daughter.
Todd Seavey has asked me to participate in his "Debates at Lolita Bar". The subject to be debated "Is Israel Oppressing the "Palestinian" [quotes mine]. I asked that Seavey consider the more honest question, Is Israel Oppressing the "Palestinian" Gazans or are the "Palestinian" Gazans oppressing Israel? Not going to happen but no matter, debate I will. And when I have the times, I will post it :)
I'm sure I'll be debating someone as gung-ho on anti-Israel as I am on anti-terrorism.
Karol over at Alarming News participated in one of these debates. She countered the 911 truthers. No, I'm serious. Check it out.
UPDATE: Closing in on an opponent. 8pm on 8/13 regardless.
CAIR is gloating over the dhimmi ruling of San Francisco (need I say more?) libtard Judge Susan Ilston against the courageous Michael Savage. Ilston was appointed by cigar stuffing Bill Clinton. This is a terrible blow, a terrible blow, for freedom of speech lovers . Of course, inindicted c0-conspirator CAIR is using freedom of speech to kill freedom of speech and in typical Orwellian double spea, calls it a victory for free speech (!). Worse yet, the king of litigation jihad is crying about law costs and begging for infidel dollars. I guess the 50 million the Saudis gave CAIR has been spent on suing airlines, ordinary Americans and scaring the folks.
Based on this ruling, shouldn't CAIR's lawfare aginst Savage be dismissed as well?
We hope you will join us in celebrating what many are calling a huge victory for freedom of speech. Last year
during a nationally-syndicated radio broadcast, host Michael Savage screamed
attacks on Muslims, Islam and the Quran.
Savage's anti-Muslim rant included: "I don't wanna hear anymore about Islam.
I don't wanna hear one more word about Islam. Take your religion and shove it up
your behind. I'm sick of you."
To listen to Savage’s anti-Muslim rant, click here.
As you know, CAIR's response to these
attacks, coupled with the efforts of other like-mined
organizations, cost Savage advertisers like Sears, Sam’s Club and GEICO
Insurance. He told reporters that he lost more than
$1 million in revenue.
In response to our anti-hate campaign, Savage
sued CAIR. He claimed that our replaying of his bigoted remarks
infringed on his "copyright." We simply believed people had a right to hear and
judge his hate-filled words for themselves.
THE GOOD NEWS:In a ruling issued on Friday, Federal Judge Susan Illston
dismissed Savage’s lawsuit against CAIR.
In her ruling, Judge Illston wrote that the lawsuit Savage filed was "a
dispute about...the protections of the First Amendment, protections upon which
plaintiff (himself) relies for his livelihood and the airing of his radio
program." Judge Illston also implied that the lawsuit may have been brought in
an effort to "harass" CAIR.
We could not have won this case without the help
we have received from supporters like you. Despite this legal
victory, our work continues. Savage's attorney has been quoted in the media as
saying they plan to file another complaint against us.
Freedom is not free. Justice does not defend itself. Lawsuits are costly.
This case, part of defending the image of Islam, has channeled resources away
from our normal civil rights and advocacy work. Michael Savage's malicious words
are not only directed at Muslims. He has issued on-air insults against
immigrants, African-Americans, women, and most recently autistic children, who
he called "brats" and "morons.”
This is what the human rights commission focuses its limited energies on? What about the victims? What about the safety of the general population, asshats?
PARIS - The UN Human Rights Committee has slammed
France's immigration policies and expressed concern about overcrowding and poor
conditions in its prisons, according to documents seen Monday by AFP.
It
also asked France to re-examine a new law under which people deemed a threat to
society can be kept in prison - possibly for the rest of their lives - even
after they have served out their full sentence.
Senator Obama and I also faced a decision, which amounted to a
real-time test for a future commander-in-chief. America passed that
test. I believe my judgment passed that test. And I believe Senator
Obama's failed.
We both knew the politically safe choice was to support some form
of retreat. All the polls said the "surge" was unpopular. Many pundits,
experts and policymakers opposed it and advocated withdrawing our
troops and accepting the consequences. I chose to support the new
counterinsurgency strategy backed by additional troops -- which I had
advocated since 2003, after my first trip to Iraq. Many observers said
my position would end my hopes of becoming president. I said I would
rather lose a campaign than see America lose a war. My choice was not
smart politics. It didn't test well in focus groups. It ignored all the
polls. It also didn't matter. The country I love had one final chance
to succeed in Iraq. The new strategy was it. So I supported it. Today,
the effects of the new strategy are obvious. The surge has succeeded,
and we are, at long last, finally winning this war.
Senator Obama made a different choice. He not only opposed the new
strategy, but actually tried to prevent us from implementing it. He
didn't just advocate defeat, he tried to legislate it. When his efforts
failed, he continued to predict the failure of our troops. As our
soldiers and Marines prepared to move into Baghdad neighborhoods and
Anbari villages, Senator Obama predicted that their efforts would make
the sectarian violence in Iraq worse, not better.
And as our troops took the fight to the enemy, Senator Obama tried
to cut off funding for them. He was one of only 14 senators to vote
against the emergency funding in May 2007 that supported our troops in
Iraq and Afghanistan. ...
Three weeks after Senator Obama voted to deny funding for our troops
in the field, General Ray Odierno launched the first major combat
operations of the surge. Senator Obama declared defeat one month later:
"My assessment is that the surge has not worked and we will not see a
different report eight weeks from now." His assessment was popular at
the time. But it couldn't have been more wrong.
By November 2007, the success of the surge was becoming apparent.
Attacks on Coalition forces had dropped almost 60 percent from
pre-surge levels. American casualties had fallen by more than half.
Iraqi civilian deaths had fallen by more than two-thirds. But Senator
Obama ignored the new and encouraging reality. "Not only have we not
seen improvements," he said, "but we're actually worsening,
potentially, a situation there."
If Senator Obama had prevailed, American forces would have had to
retreat under fire. The Iraqi Army would have collapsed. Civilian
casualties would have increased dramatically. Al Qaeda would have
killed the Sunni sheikhs who had begun to cooperate with us, and the
"Sunni Awakening" would have been strangled at birth. Al Qaeda fighters
would have safe havens, from where they could train Iraqis and
foreigners, and turn Iraq into a base for launching attacks on
Americans elsewhere. Civil war, genocide and wider conflict would have
been likely.
Above all, America would have been humiliated and weakened. Our
military, strained by years of sacrifice, would have suffered a
demoralizing defeat. Our enemies around the globe would have been
emboldened. ...
Senator Obama told the American people what he thought you wanted to hear. I told you the truth.
Fortunately, Senator Obama failed, not our military. We rejected the
audacity of hopelessness, and we were right. Violence in Iraq fell to
such low levels for such a long time that Senator Obama, detecting the
success he never believed possible, falsely claimed that he had always
predicted it. ... In Iraq, we are no longer on the doorstep of defeat,
but on the road to victory.
Senator Obama said this week that even knowing what he knows today
that he still would have opposed the surge. In retrospect, given the
opportunity to choose between failure and success, he chooses failure.
I cannot conceive of a Commander in Chief making that choice.
"Lord – Protect my family and me," read the note published in the Maariv daily. "Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do
And anyway, there had to be a second note,. have you ever tried to squeeze something into the Wailing wall? It gets totally scrunched up.
On the other
hand, in the world of paparazzi, the exposure of the prayer was predictable, and
Obama apparently constructed the prayer for public consumption. Like everything
else about his visit, this was a carefully crafted statement, designed not to
ruffle very many feathers. And like this prayer, there was nothing extraordinary
about Obama’s visit. As you would expect from a politician, he tried to be all
things to all people. And he probably succeeded.
Regular readers of these pages
will note they didn't see the note here. Not because of the private nature of a
prayer, but because the entire thing smelled. As I told Yael of Boker Tov Boulder on Friday, commented

Shrugs , and my Rabbi on Saturday), I did not believe that a Yeshiva Student
would violate the sanctity of someones personal prayer to God and even more
important was the fact EVERY SINGLE Second of Obama's "world tour" was detailed
for maximum political effect. If a guy could hang campaign posters at such a
holy site as the Kotel, he could cynically stage the release of the Prayer that
was written by his staff.
Sadly the news came out today that I was correct.
Ma'ariv announced to day that the whole thing was done with the cooperation with
the Obama Campaign
A Ma'ariv spokesman was
quoted in the Jerusalem Post as saying that "Barack Obama's note was approved
for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a
short time after he wrote it at the
King David Hotel in
Jerusalem." The paper added that is was
"pleased" with its "journalistic accomplishment."
The campaign might be less
pleased with another pronouncement by Maariv: "In any case," the spokesman said,
"since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an
infringement on his right to privacy. Source
First of all the Paper is 100% WRONG! Most Rabbis would
agree that ANY note in the Kotel is private, whether written by a Jew or a
Gentile (you won't find 100% of Rabbis agreeing on anything)
Most important is the fact that this supposedly
religious man is so cynical about his relationship with God, that he allowed his
campaign to fake a theft of his note to God, in order to look good politically.
Shire Network News also takes a few big swipes at Barak Obama. Here's part of what Brian of London said on the show:
But let us not forget Obama at the Western Wall (or Ha- Kotel to give it it's
Hebrew name). You may well have seen Obama trying to insert a note in the Wall
and know that later, the very same note turned up, published in full in the
Ma'ariv newspaper in Israel. Obama prayed for me, me, me..... more me's than a
thing with lots of me's in it.
It's now been confirmed by A Ma'ariv spokesman in the Jerusalem Post that
"Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media
even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King
David Hotel in Jerusalem." The paper added that is was "pleased" with its
"journalistic accomplishment."
One of the most important central lessons of Judaism is to move away from
personal fulfillment and toward what one can do for others. Judaism doesn't
regulate rights for the self, it lays down obligations toward others. One
doesn't live to make oneself happy: one lives to attain happiness through
performing good deeds that make others happy. Jews say prayers for sick
relatives or friends, and ask friends to do the same: they never say pray for
me.
Obviously, Barrak is not a Jew. Obviously Jesus was. I'm just saying.
That particular note of BHO's so supremely violates all concepts of Jewish
prayer its no wonder the Kotel kept pushing the thing back out at him. When I
watched the video I could just hear the voice of G-d (or the New York Times
editor): "NOW WRITE THAT AGAIN BUT PRAY FOR OTHERS!"
There is a reason why the link to Islam of honor killings is so hard to understand for the media and most people. The shame/honour culture (which predates Islam) is a typical component of tribal societies. It exists well beyond Islam and it means that many other cultures and peoples might feel the same way if their daughters bring "dishonor" on a family, clan or tribe by behaving outside of the culture's norms.
Islam brings several things to the picture that make it much more likely that Muslim men (aided by their subservient women) will kill:
The devaluation of women (they're little but possessions in the Koran);
No clear prohibition on murder: the Koran is full of cases where it is permitted to kill or when Muhammad personally killed or ordered someone to be killed;
It's not that Muslims are the only people to commit honour killings, its that their religion is specifically likely to remove the impulse control that needs to be in place to stop humans behaving like animals.
Good religion provides a control on these base instincts. Bad religion amplifies the most base instincts. You decide which one the father of those two beautiful girls in Texas was acting under.
The murder is the final act in a life of terror, beatings and oppression. And while it was reported that Sarah and Amina were raped by Yasser when they were seven and eight. This has been inaccurately reported. Patricia's sister, Gail's youngest niece, called Gail to set the record straight. She corrected the ages in which the sexual abuse began
with Amina. Amina said that she was four when Yasser
first started sexually abusing her. These girls lived a life of pure hell short of
Despite the little media's coverage of these horrific murders, the stories don't end with the burial of
the victims. Family members that might speak out are threatened, terrorized.
Law enforcement is hampered by a politically correct hands off policy for fear of offending Muslims in the community. One only had to watch law enforcement officials in Irving defensive and hostile posturing when questioned about the lack of pursuit of double murderer Yasser Said. They still refuse to call it an honor killing.
Gail Gartrell, the courageous Aunt that first spoke out and at the funeral of Sarah and Amina Said and called it an honor killing is still being threatened and harassed by members of the Said family.
It has become increasingly clear that Islam Said, older brother to Sarah and Amina, had some involvement in their deaths. When Yasser lured the girls back from Oklahoma (after they ran away from a brutal and violent home life), he forced them into the back of his cab and yelled to Islam to "get me my gun". Which he did. Why hasn't he been indicted?
Islam later told his Aunt Joyce "the girls got what was coming to them". The girls got what they deserved because they knew the rules".
Islam, apparently is in Egypt, threatens Gail on relentlessly. Their mom, Tissy (the mom from hell), who dragged those girls back to their father to be murdered has moved on to her second boyfriend and if what I have been told is the truth (and this has been verified by three members of the family) Tissy's new boyfriend is another Muslim man. One relative has already been threatened by her new Muslim boyfriend. Why, would Tissy choose to walk this road again? Why would she get involved with a man like Yasser who
murdered her girls ....unless, she is of the same mindset.
Gail was told by my great-nephew, Islam Said , that he wants to send her to hell so I can say hello to the bitches, Sarah and Amina! Islam told Gail that Yasser was going to show her an honor killing and "send her to hell to say hi to Sarah and Amina". Unspeakable. How could he speak of his sisters this way? This seemingly endless cycle of terror is still being heaped upon my family. Gail has an accordion file filled with these threats. Joyce, the great-aunt from the paternal side of Tissy's family, set up a site for information on the reward for Yasser. Islam, sent threats through this site as well.
The fact that Tissy (Sarah and Amina's mom) would not talk to FOX, that lured those girls back to Texas, called herself Yasser's girl on her myspace page makes her an accessory to their murder. Why hasn't she been questioned further. The only time the police questioned Tissy was the night of the murders. And why hasn't Islam been indicted as an accessory to the murders? Why has he been allowed to threaten and intimidate the aunts, boyfriends (of the girls) and anyone else that speaks out about the heinous crime. Why was there no one form the Said family wiling to speak on camera to the FOX news team (with the exception of the brother Yassein's expletive tirade, Yaser Said's brother screaming "get out of here "m**erf**ckers!" "I hate FOX news. You're racist!"
When will there be justice?
(Islam's myspace page. He has been described as "radicalized" and a walking time bomb.
Does the government expect us to believe that Israel is less secure than other international airportS? Saudi Arabia? Sudan? Egypt? the UK? Put down the crack cocaine. El Al is the safest airline in the world. Pastorious wrote me,"think about it, the FAA is contemplating limiting flight out of Israel, at the very same time that Iran is threatening to wipe Israel off the map.
And, the reason they cite for having to limit flights out of Israel is because Israeli security is severely flawed, and yet one month ago DHS Chairman Chertoff signed an unprecedented pact with Israel for
ISRAEL TO TEACH OUR AIRPORT SECURITY PEOPLE THEIR TECHNIQUES."
I'd love the name of the infiltrator who came up with this plan.
Finds Israel's Aviation Safety Has Serious Security Flaws
WASHINGTON (CBS) ―The Federal Aviation
Administration could soon cut back the number of flights from Israel to the
United States after finding Israel's aviation safety to have "severe security
shortcomings," according to a report by Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
[...]
A report is expected
to be released in 90 days which will detail the FAA's decision on whether
flights from Israel to the U.S. should be limited.
At a time when all the major polls show U.S. voters consumed primarily with economic issues — growing joblessness, high fuel costs, rising food prices and a crisis in home financing, Obama has offered his own prescription for an economic course correction. He has called for tax hikes on people making more than $250,000 a year to pay for a massive budget deficit and investment in infrastructure he wants to make.
He wants to increase American taxpayers to the most corrupt institution in modern history, the irretrievably broken United Nations (oil for food?) Ah, paying back Soros cronies.
The U.S. Senate soon could debate whether you, your spouse and each of your
children – as well as your in-laws, parents, grandparents, neighbors and
everyone else in America – each will spend $2,500 or more to reduce poverty
around the world.
In other words, line the pockets of Islamists, despots, dictators, brutal regimes just so that the leftards can feel good about themselves. Kumbaya baby.
This "citizen of the world" who never worked a day in his life - as in real job, is going to "fix" the economy. The man knows nothing of business.
Reader Dee writes,
"Obama’s Poverty Act bill, Senate Bill 2433, needs to be stopped NOW; we have but a short time-frame to contact our Representatives to tell them to vote NO on this. Americans need to understand that it will not only give to the United Nations $845 BILLION, "over and above what the U.S. already spends" for the purpose of increasing the daily standard of living from $1.00 to $2.00 for the people of African countries, such as Obama’s Kenya along with Tanzania, Darfur, Sudan, Mongolia, etc; BUT it also says that the United Nations can impose a tax on the citizens of the United States to ensure making it happen. Additionally, this Poverty Act includes the United Nations Millennium Declaration which commits to banning small arms and light weapons and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty.
I don’t know about others, but I think $845 billion would go a long way to help out the citizens of the U.S. who are living in poverty right here at home, help lower gas prices, help to pay back the “loans” taken from our Social Security System that are being used to fund foreign aid and put it back on stable ground, help our elderly, help secure our borders and could be used to pay our military a much deserved better wage.
Have the corrupt UN tax us for the “eradication of poverty” by the “redistribution [of] wealth and land” so it can pull off another “Oil for Food,” I don’t think so.
Have the corrupt UN take away our 2nd Amendment, I don’t think so.
Have the corrupt UN decide what is “a fair distribution of the Earth’s resources,” I don’t think so.
Have the corrupt UN set up a Criminal Court giving them the right to try our soldiers as war criminals, I don’t think so.
But Obama says, “Yes we can” along with Senators Maria Cantwell, Dianne Feinstein, Richard Lugar, Richard Durbin, Chuck Hagel and Robert Menendez.
Obama and his Marxist pals will turn America into another 3rd world country if not stopped; I’m calling my Representatives now.
Coffeetime! John Hawkins over at Right Wing News came into Gotham. He was invited by NHK, which is a Japanese public television network, who in touch with him and invited him to participate in a panel on nuclear weapons issues
in New York (more here).
John invited Karol (of Alarming News) and I met him for some comfort at the The Comfort Coffee shop. Coffeetime!
It's lovely when cyber reltionships are given flesh and bone and snarky conversation. John blogged about here and he has some great shots (particularly the one in front of the retarded gun in front of the UN. His post "Weekend in New York" is a cheeky read.
Karol is delicious. Smart, witty and knows her shiz. Atlas loves that. And John? The blogger's motherboard. He hooked me with Coleman who saved my ass on the Islamist "rabbi" lawsuit and urged me to submit an app to the RNC for the convention. And I was selected ..... tip of the old hat to John.
The next day, I headed over to a local diner for lunch with my buddies, Karol Sheinin from Alarming News and Pamela Geller from Atlas Shrugs.
Karol is very sweet and laid back and Pamela is, as you'd guess from her Vlogs, a bundle of energy. As Karol said, you can practically feel her when she walks into a room.
After we ate, we took a little mini-tour of a few nearby landmarks. We
walked over to the Chrysler building, headed into the stunning lobby of
the New York Globe,
and then Pamela and I (Karol had to split) beat feet over to the United
Nations where we took a pic in front of some anti-gun artwork.
Later that night, NHK scooped up all the panelists, took us to an
Italian restaurant, and then we bounced over to the Reuters Studios in
Times Square to film.

“The least we at home can do is to make sure that they are able to enjoy the rights they are being asked to fight to preserve.” (Truman)
How low can you go? If you're a Democrat, there's no bottom. Denying America's finest young people who are fighting for our very way of life their vote is obscene.
Rep. Roy Blunt, the House Republican whip, on July 8 introduced a resolution demanding that the Defense Department do a better job of enabling the U.S. military personnel overseas to vote in the November elections. That act was followed by silence. Democrats normally leap on an opportunity to find fault with the Bush Pentagon. But not a single Democrat joined Blunt as a co-sponsor, and an all-Republican proposal cannot pass in the Democratic-controlled House.
Analysis by the federal Election Assistance Commission, rejecting inflated Defense Department voting claims, estimated overseas and absentee military voting for the 2006 midterm elections at a disgracefully low 5.5 percent. The quality of voting statistics is so poor that there is no way to tell how many of the slightly over 330,000 votes actually were sent in by the absentee military voters and their dependents and how many by civilian Americans living abroad -- 6 million in total.
Nobody who has studied the question objectively sees any improvement since 2006, and that is a scandal. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Charles Henry wrote in the July issue of the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings: “While virtually everyone involved … seems to agree that military people deserve at least equal opportunity when it comes to having their votes counted, indications are that in November 2008, many thousands of service members who try to vote will do so in vain.”
At least!
Henry, now an independent broadcast journalist, has personal experience with this enduring scandal. While serving as a Marine at sea off Iran, he received his 1980 presidential ballot too late to count. President Harry Truman said of troops fighting in Korea, “The least we at home can do is to make sure that they are able to enjoy the rights they are being asked to fight to preserve.” But the U.S. military that has so perfected the art of war over the past half-century is at a loss to enable soldiers to vote.
It looks like the "tiny minority of extremists" is
growing. Incidentally, Islamists are frequently
encouraged to cover up their militancy as a taqiya
strategem, so this story is likely quite understated:
ALMOST a third of British Muslim students believe
killing in the name of Islam can be justified,
according to a poll.
The study also found that two in five Muslims at
university support the incorporation of Islamic
sharia codes into British law.
The YouGov poll for the Centre for Social Cohesion
(CSC) will raise concerns about the extent of campus
radicalism. "Significant numbers appear to hold
beliefs which contravene democratic values," said
Hannah Stuart, one of the report’s authors. "These
results are deeply embarrassing for those who have
said there is no extremism in British universities."
The research found that a third of Muslim students
supported the creation of a world-wide caliphate or
Islamic state.
A number of terrorists have been radicalised at
British universities. Kafeel Ahmed, who drove a
flaming jeep into a building at Glasgow airport last
year and died of his burns, is believed to have been
radicalised while studying at Anglia Ruskin
university, Cambridge.

A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.
Life has Loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
And children's faces looking up,
Holding wonder like a cup
Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you,
arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.
Spend all you have for loveliness,
Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
