Across the street was an anemic counter protest. Where were the Jewish kids? NOWHERE. Jewish leadership and the diaspora have failed miserably in the education of our youth. The entire Muslim rally was young, wild -- frenetic. Itchy fingers on hair triggers.

Jewish lay leadership should be thrown out on the dhimmi asses. They have failed an entire generation of slackers.

"Israel is a terrorist state!" Screaming, yelling, very ugly .... police were not prepared. At one point the Muslims broke out crossed the street and confronted the 18 Jewish and Israel lovers across the street (watch the video, I caught part of it).

Someone tell this asshat that Israel has been sending truckloads of humanitarian aid into Gazastan.

....our Defence Dept who said they have access to telephone nos. in Gaza and beginning two days ago began calling the Arab population of Gaza in areas where the Israel Air Force was going to bomb and left messages in Arabic telling them to get out, since their gov't, led by Hamas, had placed strategic weapons and ammunition in their area and Israel was forced to destroy it to protect it's citizens.

First, let me say that the idea of placing ammunition and weapons among it's citizenry is a violation of human rights and the UN. This is something the Arab gov'ts have been doing in just about every war with Israel. Hamas is among the most uncaring and even among it's citizenry that supports them they have used their homes and living space to store ammunition and weapons. Hezbullah in Lebanon did the same thing.

The other point I want to make is that we have been extremely careful to avoid civilian casualties and when was the last time in the history of warfare that any gov't called it's enemy populations and told them to get out since their areas were targeted and tried to protect civilians. To my knowledge this is a first.

I don't think you'll see this story in the popular western press. But it did happen and is happening here. On two different occasions in the past two days  I personally heard on radio that our gov't thru the ministry made more than 90,000 telephone calls per day to Gaza residents warning them that their specific area was targeted.

Please let your friends and neighbors know about this action that does show we care, and don't let the local media cry about the poor civilians who are being massacred when their own Hamas gov't cares less about them than their mortal enemies.

Here's a couple of reasons why I don't attend any more "rallys" or "protests" etc. I did attend the big Israel Solidarity rally held in Washington, D.C. a few years back, with my infant son in a backpack, in the hot sun... I listened to the boring pointless speeches, hearing God mentioned only by non-Jewish speakers of course (I think the main one was a Catholic Nun).

1) I'm afraid if I go to one of these hate fests I will lose control and jump someone or get jumped. I have a wife and 3 little kids to care for-- I can't waste time in jail and/or hospital. Yes, I would want to KILL. I wanted to plow a truck into that crowd in the video yelling "go to the ovens" and "nuke Israel". Those calling for my murder for being born of a Jewish mother deserve NOTHING but annihilation.

2) Attending these things, getting emotional, essentially accomplish NOTHING for either side in the long wrong. The BAD guys always get the GOOD press regardless-- the world hates a Jew.

And it's our own (Jewish) fault...2,000 years of hate against us not because of muslims, arabs, "palestine/palisteen/filostin", nazis, European pogromists (be they Russian, Polish, German, whatever), not Babylonians, Persians, Romans, not crusaders (be they Christian or muslim)... it's OUR fault for just not living the way GOD HIMSELF told us to when He gave us His Torah at Mount Sinai, in front of a million witnesses, who heard His voice and witnessed with their own eyes and ears His miracles, signs, and wonders (not from some human who wandered out of a cave or fell to the ground twitching and foaming at the mouth and claiming an ANGEL gave him "revelations" that replace what GOD HIMSELF told US).

2,000 years ago our great sages and their students died in most heinous ways (i.e. flesh peeled off with hot metal combs)- sages we are taught today were so great and holy we are not worthy of being dust under their shoes- why? Because of SINAT CHINAM- SENSELESS HATRED. DISUNITY. AMONGST OURSELVES. 10, 12 hours a day sitting in Yeshivas studying, and learning NOTHING. Wearing silly looking 16th century clothing, speaking silly ghetto-languages (aka Yiddish), perpetuating a bizarrely accented form of non-Hebrew called "ahskenazic accent" (i.e. pronouncing the Hebrew word Torah as "toyrah" or "tayreh" instead of the proper "Toe-Rah (emphasis on 2nd syllable)", and then going out and lying, cheating, and stealing their ways through the business world. The Torah I read certainly doesn't allow this behavior. Perhaps I understand differently since I don't waste my time and energy getting completely befuddled by the baffling mystery books called the "Talmud".

I'm not attempting to continue Sinat Chinam with the above, or even speak Loshon HaRah (evil talk) against my brothers and sisters (although some will certainly dismiss it as such). I attempt to make a point that no amount of "protests", hazbaroh, publicity campaigns, press releases, "dialoging" with "the other side" (or attempting to water down Torah laws to show "them" we can be like them too- ala "reform" Judaism), or blogging will stop the hate against us Jews. Jew hate is utterly irrational and no amount of rational behavior will rid the world of it.

The scourge of evil that is called "islam" MUST be stopped, but it will only be stopped by GOD's will, in His way. We can fight it's advance as much as possible, but we must remember to do what God taught us as RIGHT. We must be KIND to EACH OTHER. We must stop looking down on "those other Jews" that aren't like us. We must embrace all our Jewish brothers and sisters as if they ARE our brothers and sisters. Forget what they are wearing. Forget whether or not they studied in so-and-so's Yeshivah or went to public school. Forget whether or not they eat at your "level" of Kosher. Just be NICE, dammit, and set an EXAMPLE that people will want to emulate, instead of just being disgusted. As OUR Torah teaches, we are to be a LIGHT unto the WORLD. We are supposed to behave in a way that shows our way as something they want to follow- not point and laugh at and say "look at those effing jooooooz". And the first step in that way is being NICE to each other, and FEARING GOD. Pay your taxes! Don't do that business "deal" if you KNOW it is illegal, unethical, or may in some way be immoral. You won't starve!

Sorry for my diatribe, I have to get it out once in a while. It's so frustrating seeing the state of the world, and the blind, vile, Jew hatred and ignorance out there (including that by people born of Jewish mothers- Jewiciders/ignoramuses), and knowing that Moshiach (Messiah) is being REPELLED (for thousands of years), often by people who should really know better than most.

Revealing Silence at the Egyptian Border: Why does Hamas victimize its own?

At about 1:10 on Sunday December 28, 2000, the BBC anchor Peter Dobbie found out, along with his audience, that there were 40 Egyptian ambulances ready to evacuate wounded, and lorries full of medical goods sent by Qatar to restock Gazan hospitals, waiting at the border crossing in Egypt. (According to another source there were also 50 Egyptian doctors ready to go into the Strip to help.)
Since Dobbie and his audience had heard the repeated complaint from the people in Gaza that the hospitals were overwhelmed by the injured and desperately lacking in supplies, one would have expected the border to be full of purposeful activity.
Instead, nothing was happening. The Gazan side lay silent.

A real journalist, someone with a smell for revealing anomalies, would have immediately recognized this as an important story to follow up on. After all, Dobbie had not hesitated to interrupt and challenge Israeli spokesmen on precisely the issues at stake: the disproportion between Israeli caused fatalities and Israeli suffered fatalities, the inevitable suffering of innocent civilians when such a bombing campaign takes place is so densely populated an area. “The math doesn’t work,” said Dobbie, “200 dead in one day, vs. 20 dead in seven years?” Partaking in the growing chorus of disapproval for Israel’s “disproportionate use of force.”

So here was a perfect issue with which to challenge Hamas spokesmen:

“The math doesn’t work? If you are so distraught at the loss of life of your own people, why don’t you take care of them? What on earth would possess you not to avail yourselves of what you pleadingly tell us you so desperately need?”

As the honest and courageous Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey put it, “My head hurts.”

Alas… the BBC did nothing of the sort. The next hours and days saw nothing but canned footage repeating Palestinian complaints, voiced not only by Hamas spokesmen and BBC reporters, but also UN officials like Chris Gunning and Human Rights advocates.

Too bad. Had the BBC behaved like real journalists, they might have taken the “golden” (read excremental) thread that leads out of the labyrinth, and straight to the “real story.”
That story, of course, is the classic Palestinian strategy, taken to new heights by Hamas in the early 21st century – play the victim card… at all costs. It was the same one Hizbullah played so effectively in the summer of 2006.

Hamas initially offered two reasons for not allowing the wounded out:

1) The roads were too dangerous to venture out on; and

2) they were composing a list of the wounded.

Both of these are just the kind of lame excuses that, had they been voiced by Israeli spokesmen, the BBC interviewers would have jumped on. Israelis have targeted only military and government sites; no ambulances have been hit, and the roads are full of cars bringing wounded (past cameras) to hospital. As for the making up a list of 600 hundred wounded before evacuating any… surely you must be kidding.

Then Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum, speaking to Khaled Abu Toameh, denied the Egyptian allegation that Hamas was to blame,

“claiming that many of the wounded rejected an Egyptian offer to receive medical treatment in Cairo in protest against Cairo’s ‘support’ for the IDF operation. He accused the Egyptians of taking part in the “siege” on the Gaza Strip by refusing to reopen the Rafah crossing.”

Hamas even delivered before the cameras a group of “family members” who claimed they refused to let their wounded go because of their anger at Egypt’s behavior. On the contrary, as Ma’an News Agency reported, Hamas would allow no passage of wounded until the border was completely open.

This, of course, is yet another hollow claim. Gazans don’t hesitate to accept medical aid from the Israelis, the people who, in their minds actually inflict the wounds. So why not take Egyptian aid? And of the 600 wounded (according to Palestinian sources…) all of them, suffering in a ludicrously crowded and understaffed hospital, refused to go to Egypt?

Although the reasons are hollow, they do tell us about Hamas priorities, and the overwhelming message of this refusal is that helping their own civilians survive ranks very low on their scale, well below revenge and Public Relations concerns.

Indeed, as with Israel, so with Egypt: they hold their people hostage to maximalist demands.

Some say, Hamas doesn’t care about their people. The evidence suggests far worse. They actively seek the victimization of their own people.
Indeed, the enormous resources they have expended on the constant, if largely ineffective barrage of rockets on Israeli civilians, is actually quite staggering. Not only have they lavished much of their meager resources to this vicious and gratuitous activity, but as a result of those attacks, guaranteed that their borders would be closed, and their people would continue to suffer… hostages to their hatred. Thus, the phony excuses offered for the border snafu disguise something far more sinister: Hamas wants the crisis; they want civilians dying dramatically in wretched hospitals.

On the face of it, it seems absurd that a government would actively victimize its own people. What advantage in making an already miserable people suffer even more?
There are two major explanations here.

First, Hamas (and many other Palestinian groups) are addicted to violence against Israel. Anything they can do, no matter how small, to make Israelis suffer, they will do, whatever the cost. As the Israeli satirical program, Shavuah Sof (like Saturday Night Live) had Hamas leader al Zahar explain to Ehud Barak, “Kassams are like cigarettes… you can’t just quit all at once.” (HT: NP) Thus, they have spent virtually all their resources on smuggling and firing weapons while their people suffered their government’s neglect and Israeli retaliatory blockades.

But the second explanation is far more disturbing, because it involves the media. Hamas only gains a real advantage to having Palestinians suffer if they, who do so much to inflict that suffering, can blame it on Israel. It would be absurd for Hamas to stand in front of the world and say, “look at how much we make our own people suffer; join us in hating Israel.” So the game is intensely hypocritical. It depends on getting public opinion, both in the Arab-Muslim world, and in the West to accept a scapegoating narrative that deflects responsibility.

And the pathetic thing is, it works even in the West. And it works primarily because of the behavior of the Western media, who systematically frame the conflict in terms of the Israeli Goliath and the Palestinian David, who do not hesitate to challenge Israeli spokesmen, interrupt them, contradict them; but who fail to do anything of the sort with their Arab interlocutors.

Thus, for hours and days after the story of idling ambulances first broke, BBC never mentioned it. On the contrary, they continued to run footage of complaints from Gaza about the terrible condition of the hospitals, and calls for international intervention to save the poor people of Gaza. This enables the worst kind of hypocrisy, of demopathic behavior – accuse others of violations of a humanitarian code to which you have no commitment.

When a young girl described waking up in bed next to her dead sisters and then, astonishingly, blamed it on Hamas – “”Hamas is the cause, in the first place, of all wars…” – ABC ran the footage without including the final, devastating comment. Why? Because it didn’t make sense? Because it violated the “grand narrative” and would only confuse a the public?

The moral irony here is almost unbearable. While Hamas systematically and deliberately victimizes its people in order to court Western support in outrage at the suffering of her people, the media get indignant about how Israel makes the Palestinian suffer. The very values that underlie the media’s rebuke – the value of human life – are values that Israel and the Western media share and Hamas has contempt for. And in so doing, they make Hamas’ revolting calculus of inflicting suffering on their own people pay off.

And in so doing, the media not only enable the greatest victimizers of the Palestinians, they also fuel the hate and rage that increasingly fills the streets not only of the Arab and Muslim world, but the West as well. Are they fools or knaves? Or are they knaves for being such fools?

A few obvious points (obvious for us Atlas regulars, completely non-existent to the irrational haters):

1) There's no such thing as "palestine/palasteen/falastin". The bagged hag in the video yells "there's no such thing as Israel"... hmmm...odd that I find thousands of references to just such a place in many history/geography books, including contemporary (i.e. Josephus) and archeological references. Only mention of this "Philostin" garbage is from the following:
a) 4,000 years or so ago some heathen idol worshiping fisher people boated over to the coast of what is now called "Gaza" from the islands off Cyprus/Greece. DEFINITELY not Arabic peoples, and CERTAINLY not "muslims"! These "Pleeshteem" (as they are called in Hebrew in the Torah) were considered VILE SCUM- how FITTING the name is NOW, eh? THE Australian Government has urged Israel and Hamas to agree to a new truce and end the violence in Gaza.

Israeli warplanes destroyed Hamas targets including a mosque and a TV station today, after a day of air strikes that killed more than 230 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

At least 230 Palestinians, most of them militants, died and more than 400 were wounded on Saturday, one of the bloodiest days in decades of Israeli-Palestinian fighting.

The latest violence comes after a six-month ceasefire between Israel and Gaza militants ended on December 19, when Hamas refused to renew it.

Acting Prime Minister Julia Gillard called for the truce to be reinstated and urged both parties to avoid injuring civilians.

"We are calling on Hamas and other militants to cease shelling southern Israel," she said in Adelaide today.

"Obviously, they have broken the ceasefire and engaged in an act of aggression against Israel.

"Israel has responded. We are echoing the calls from around the world for parties to move back to a ceasefire."

The Embassy of Israel in Canberra said the deterioration of the situation was the direct result of Hamas policy.

"If Hamas would renounce the path of terror, there would be no need for the action," the embassy said in a statement.

Evidently they're speaking about muslim occupation of these lands, because each of these lands was invaded by muslim armies, and the non-muslim population was either expelled, killed, or subjugated. Most recently Lebanon.

AUSTRALIA has pledged an extra $5 million in aid for the people of the Gaza Strip, with the Federal Government saying it is deeply saddened by the loss of life there.

About 400 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip in recent days, following the breakdown of a ceasefire arrangement.

Acting Prime Minister Julia Gillard said today that Australia strongly supported calls for an immediate halt to the violence.

"The Australian Government also urges Israel, Hamas and other militant groups to make every effort to avoid causing further suffering to innocent civilians," she said.

Ms Gillard said the Government would give an extra $5 million worth of aid and stood ready to give more.

The assistance would help ensure Palestinians had adequate access to much needed basic goods, such as food and medical supplies, she said.

The aid will be delivered through multilateral agencies such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is strongly advising Australians not to travel to the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

SCRAPPING the ANZUS treaty, twinning Melbourne with Leningrad and introducing a super-tax on the rich were among radical policies devised or backed by Julia Gillard as a student activist.

Labor's deputy leader was a key figure in a socialist group that pushed radical policies and social agendas in the 1980s and early '90s.

Founded in 1984 as a pressure group within the ALP, the Socialist Forum also wanted to sever Australia's alliance with the US, remove the spy base at Pine Gap, introduce death duties and redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor.

The Sunday Herald Sun has gained access to the forum's archive - held in the Baillieu Library at the University of Melbourne.

The archive contains material revealing the radical past of Ms Gillard, including her links to former members of the Communist Party of Australia.

Ms Gillard, who could be Australia's next deputy prime minister, was on the management committee of the forum for many years.

She acted as its public officer, secretary, and legal adviser on the drafting of its constitution.

Her signature is on liquor licence applications for the forum's social events, such as theatre nights.

In a pamphlet from the mid-1980s, Ms Gillard describes herself as a "socialist and a feminist" and someone who joined the ALP at 16.

"Contrary to what may have been suggested, Socialist Forum is not a secret organisation nor is it a sub-caucus with the Socialist Left," Ms Gillard says in the pamphlet.

"The members of the forum are drawn from varied backgrounds. Around 45 of the forum's members left the Communist Party of Australia in the division of a year ago and about 80 are members of the ALP. The largest group are not members of any political party."

The 200-plus member forum sought to influence Bob Hawke's Labor government, especially on foreign and economic policy, through the free discussion of ideas.

One key document is the 1985 "Pine Gap - Planning a Strategy", drafted by Philip Hind, who recommends a long-term policy of abrogating the ANZUS Treaty, removing Pine Gap and eventually closing all US bases.

Mr Hind visited the former Soviet Union and came back praising the reforms of president Mikhail Gorbachev. He recommended stronger ties with the USSR, including making Melbourne a sister city of Leningrad (now St Petersburg).

The archive also reveals the forum's debate over tax policy was based on a Communist Party tax pamphlet titled "A Case for Radical
Tax Reform".

"We argue that there is only one effective way to reform the tax system, by a sweeping redistribution of the tax burden which now hits hardest at low and middle-income earners," the pamphlet says.

Health Minister Tony Abbott has accused Ms Gillard of erasing her radical past and her links to the forum.

Yesterday, Ms Gillard said she could not remember the forum discussing radical policies. "It did not adopt policy positions and I don't
remember any of the papers being referred to," she said.
