ATLAS FOR SENATOR!
That's it -- I am so running. If the nanny can run and be taken seriously - then I could be ... Senator Corleone.
I would pass anti-Jihad legislation. I would kill gun control. There
would be no CAIR leadership sitting on any human rights boards.
I promise I would cut entitlement benefits. I would shut bad schools. I would give school vouchers to the poor families. I would lift all restrictions on small businesses - let free markets rein. All smoking in bar bans lifted. No congestion tax. I would
not ban transfats from NYC restaurants. I would kill property taxes. I would fire 50% of social service workers - they make up what? One in four workrs in the NYC labor force? Let them get real jobs.
C'mon guys -- what do I have to do? Who is selling the seat? Must be Schumer he is so frickin dirty.
My New Yawk accent is so much better, and more genuine than hers. And I have a clue!
ALBANY, N.Y. – The star of "The Nanny" wants to go from playing nasally New Yawkers to succeeding Hillary Rodham Clinton in the U.S. Senate.
Publicist Jordan Brown delivered the straight line that Fran Drescher is serious about becoming the next junior senator from New York. Brown cited Drescher's experience as an actress, advocate for women's health and public diplomacy envoy for the U.S. State Department.
The 51-year-old "Saturday Night Fever" and "This is Spinal Tap" actress joins a field headed by Caroline Kennedy and New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. New York Gov. David Paterson will appoint Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's successor if she is confirmed secretary of state in the Obama administration.

53000 employes in the department of education. What the hell do they do?
Posted by: Azygos | Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at 09:09 PM
hey, wait a minute: people can smoke in their houses or cars...but they are not entitled to smoke in public places where i have to breathe it and get sick from it. no way. got ta disagree here.
not just me, but the rest of the population who doesn't smoke should not be forced to breathe that crap.
that is simple common decency.
as for education/social work, i think these people help alot of people.
but, you do say alot of things that definitely need to be done for sure.
don't run, tho, politics is dirrrrteeeee.
you do better as a journalist, i think.
Posted by: kobi | Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at 09:49 PM
c'mon Kobi let the folks smoke in the bars
no biggie
Posted by: Pamela Geller | Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at 09:57 PM
naw sweetie. i'm a sax/flute player. i played in enough of those places, breathing that crap, come home, my clothes stink, my horn stinks, i cough and feel sick for three days. no way.
if they want to designate certain bars as 'smokehouses' ...okay.
but generally i think it's terrible for smokers to impose their bad air on everyone else.
it is a reeel biggie for me.
daniel-san
breathing in, breathing out
also, re the emoployees...i don't think it's good to want to put social workers or educat. workers out of a job, esp at this time.
wax on...wax off.... breathe in.....breathe out

Someone who understands and NAMES the enemy
in the US Senate- and from NY? Could this be real? Pam is certainly in the mold of Moynihan, who understood how dangerous secrecy and delusion are, and who was
so pro-Israel,and who recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Let's see, she is someone, who would stand up for women's rights against Sharia Laws and the OIC, SWF,against the stealth economic and educational jihad, terrorism, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism, the UN, Durbin, Mary Robinson, Tutu,Carter,Blair,(The Elders put together by Peter Gabriel that tower of intellect),terrorist leaders,
Peres, Olmert, Livni, and all the rest of the power-hungry, greed slobbering, self-anointed demi-gods.She's someone ,whose values are unwavering and believes the Christians should not be persecuted by the Muslims. Also, and this is important, Pam isn't afraid of the People.
She knows how to establish a terrific rapport. Not least, our daughters would have a champion in the Senate as would Western Civilization. We would have a chance at surviving and flourishing.

I too hate smoke...
But if it meant Pamela Geller would be a New York Senator...
I would take up smoking a pack a day.
Posted by: Xoce | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 01:40 AM
Plus, it's one thing to lift a ban, and another to mandate all bars be smoke-filled. A ban being lifted would simply mean bars ca VOLUNTARILY be smoke free, right?
Posted by: Xoce | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 01:42 AM
Sure, why not, of course you can run for Senate. Good for you, NY, and America, if that's where you think you're called.

This is exactly how they get you. You let them control the lives of others when it serves you, but you want to gripe when they start to take away your freedoms. It's your own damned fault.
And nobody but nobody is forcing you to go to a smoking bar or restaurant. Period.
Pamela should run. She should win. But she should, and would, do it standing firm in the courage of her convictions and not water down her ideals for bleeding hearts and the like.

Pam,
You're way better looking than Fran D. You can talk faster than her. You are principled, determined and blessed with a sort of personal momentum, an energy that will not be denied.
If you run, I will volunteer to use all my professional equipment and award winning skills as copywriter, announcer and producer of radio ads and web videos, to handle your PR. I'll match you unit for unit of energy, and the message will be clear, succinct and comprehensible by all...
I have a home studio, complete with green screen and HD video, Mac based production suite, everything. It's not getting much use but for you I"ll burn it up. :-)
DO IT.
best,
Dave in Texas

You'll have my vote upon one condition - that after less than 6 months in office - you announce your candidacy for POTUS!
Posted by: TINBH | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 09:42 AM
Of course Patterson will pick a Democrat but how about running for Governor of NY?
Posted by: horselady | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 09:51 AM
Hmmm... Atlas running in the state where:
David Dinkins was elected mayor of NYC
Hillary Clinton was elected senator
Does Atlas have a chance??
Posted by: Doda McCheesle | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 09:53 AM
Pamela, may be you should run on the Objectivist Party tick, JDI
Posted by: John D. Infidel | Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 10:09 AM
I don't think so. Ayn was not a fan of the idea of an Objectivist party. Objectivity is an academic movement and Ayn has said that if ever the country were ready for an Objectivist president, there wouldn't be any need for an Objectivist Party.

No? Oh, well.

Atlas would rock in the U.S. Senate!!
And then, down the road, she can run for the White House!
How 'bout a Palin/Pamela ticket in 2012 or 2016?!
Scratch that! Make it a Pamela/Palin ticket!!

Tell ya what...I'll support your run for Senate in New York if you'll support my run for US Congress in Alabama...
Now that's a good deal!

I'd rather work in a SMOKE FILLED BAR rather than work in the SENATE
Posted by: George | Friday, January 02, 2009 at 06:40 PM
The answers are out there, but does anyone really want to know? I always thought it would of been cool, even chilling, if Aerial Sharon had said from the podium that he forgave Germany, and the Nazis, for what they did to the Jews. He could of explained that genocide had occurred so many times in the history of humanity, that one could consider it normal. The Nazi's were just more methodical and successful than the Turks or the Khmer Rouge. Imagine the sense of unease of the dipping dumpster rats. What happened to all those Cannonites anyway?
As an non-Jewish American, I do get a little nervous seeing Israel using state of the art American weapons against rock-throwers. It's no wonder they like to crash planes into tall buildings.

Pamela,
One more thing to add to your campaign manifesto:
Stop Sending Oil Money To Arab/Islamic Countries.

Hey Koby, I had to laugh about your comment. I'm a German dude as you can see from my sign in name. For thirty years I lived there. Smoke, smoke, smoke all around you. If I were a suit to the night clubs I would hang it out on the balcony to get rid of the stink. It really works. But last time I was in Germany in 07 they talked every where about the different states banning smoking, even in bars. Many people were very unhappy. But I found out that Icouldn't take it anymore to sit next to my brother and sister in-law at home watching tv while both would smoke like a chimney. I had to sit clear across the room or go to mine or my eyes would start to ache and water.

Hi Pam,
If you run, let me know where to send the check. What a breath of fresh air.

juangault, as another non-Jewish American, may I suggest that you are an uninformed schmuck if you believe Hamas is just a rabble of "rock throwers", an ignoramus with no knowledge of history if you think Irael's campaign against Hamas is "genocide", and a relativist jerk if you think any one genocide cancels out the rest or if the practice is "normal".
Please educate yourself a bit about Islamism before you next set fingers to keyboard, hmmmmm?
And put that name back where you got it, you don't deserve it either in English or in Spanglish. And please tell me you're not trying to pretend to be an Objectivist.
Fran, sounds like you'd turn the city back to 1970s New York which is when I lived there and it was FUN! You go girl.
Posted by: lilredbird | Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 05:57 PM
I can't believe I wrote "Fran" instead of "Pam". A friend of mine named Fran (can't remember last name offhand) ran for Mayor of NYC for the Libertarians back when I lived there. We used to go out pasting up her posters and get threatened by winos. That was sort of fun too, looking back on it.

George,
The problem with Jews-Muslims goes way beyond the Israel-Palestine conflict. It stems from Islam itself, as judgment day cannot come until the Muslims kill the Jews. Which they have tried several times. The problem has been going on long before the USA even existed, so blaming the USA is not accurate.

PLEASE RUN ATLAS! Journalism is the brains behind politics and philosophy is its backbone. In my unhumble opinion, i believe you are exactly what we need. If the rest of the country would vote against you, you can rest assured you still have mine.
Posted by: vigs | Thursday, February 05, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Ooooh. So some of you work in bars and don't like smoke. GET ANOTHER JOB. That's like a mechanic whining about exhaust fumes. How spoiled will society let these crybabies get? You don't get to have it all and have it your way.
As for this crap "Hey Koby, I had to laugh about your comment. I'm a German dude as you can see from my sign in name. For thirty years I lived there. Smoke, smoke, smoke all around you. How about you get your own place to live , parasite?
George , your parents were related before the wedding. How about you stand 25 or so feet from me and let me throw rocks at you? The first time you catch one in the skull you'll be screaming for the 'gummint' to do something about it.

I'll support you. Please run.
I'll do my best to advertise your candidacy on all the blogs I post to.
