About Pamela's attendance at the Restoration Weekend. To all of Pamela's readers: you know she is great but I don't think you fully understand the effort she puts in. Most of the people at this sort of event are passive: they sit and listen. A few take notes, some ask questions. Pamela works like a court stenographer, tapping away. People think she's not paying attention but she certainly is. One person asked me (after seeing me sit next to her while she live blogged the Israel session) if it wasn't rude that she just spent the time typing. They had no idea what she was doing.
There was a lot of talk about how the Republican party needs to get back to the grass roots and make proper use of the Internet. Well that was why Pamela was there: she's making more of a difference ON HER OWN than the RNC managed with millions of dollars. I'm hoping that this will have helped promote Pamela to the right people. It is so valuable for the rest of the world when Pamela is able to attend events like this and I'm very glad she was able to go to this one. The Horowitz Freedom Center organises a great but pricy event: the exclusivity means that you get amazing access to most of the speakers and nobody makes better use of that than Pamela.
I've attended the Restoration Weekend for a number of years and it was a great pleasure to be able to partly sponsor Pamela's trip this year. She still had to cover her own flights and hotel (and it's not a cheap hotel) and I hope you, her readers, are able to help out with that. She definitely works hard for her readers in ways you probably don't even fully know.
