Nonpartisan? Uh I don't think so "Ayloush, Executive Director of CAIR (LA) believes "Muslims are upset at being used as political punching bags in campaigns, especially by Republicans" "Muslims are saying, enough is enough. We demand to not be treated as second -class citizens anymore. They are going to respond to the rhetoric with their votes".

Apparently CAIR thought better of it. Because they took it down. Perhaps that's because they were they have been electioneering at mosques - which is illegal.

UPDATE: For those who has asked about lawful voter registration drives at religious institutions, that is only legal IF the organization is non-partisan. "Muslim Americans for Obama", the sponsor of these events, is unquestionably a partisan organization, and thus, any participation by these mosques is illegal and violates their tax exempt status. Additionally, since the Muslim Americans for Obama announcement says that these voter registration drives are intended to "get out the vote for Sen. Obama", they are considered partisan (i.e. intended to benefit a specific candidate) under the law and illegal on that basis as well - in addition to the fact that these events are sponsored by a partisan organization.

The group, Muslim Americans for Obama, has announced a series of “get out the vote” events at mosques in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Ohio this week during Ramadan celebrations. As can be seen in the announcement reprinted below, the organization admits these are “get out the vote” events masquerading as “voter registration”:

Muslim Americans for Obama will be working to get out the vote for Sen. Obama, and they need help registering voters! Volunteers need not be Muslim, though appropriate attire is advised (no sleeveless tops; long pants and ankle-length skirts recommended).

These get out the vote events, of course, flagrantly violate the tax exempt status of these participating mosques, including our own local Noor Islamic Cultural Center, which are strictly prohibited from supporting or endorsing any kind of partisan political activity — even when they claim it is only “voter registration”. In fact, it was these kinds of activities that eventually sunk the Christian Coalition's tax exempt status with the IRS.

Anyone who lives in a city or district where such partisan campaigning occurs, should begin a letter campaign complaining to the local U.S. Attorney;s Office, closest IRS office, with copies to your Congressman and 2 Senators.

The politically correct local IRS and US Attorney offices are unlikely to investigate on their own, but, it will be hard to refuse to investigate a citizens complaint, especially if your congressman joins the request.

The tax exempt status of any mosque that joins with the partisan campaigning can be denied. This could begin a drive towards treating mosques as political institutions instead of supposed "holy", or religious places. It could result in having the offending mosque shut down for good...and wouldn't that be sweet!

Muslims are sayng they are "treated as second-class citizens?" I would say that being treated as a second-class citizen would be more on the order of how Christians, Jews, and others are treated in Muslim-majority countries. Are Muslims forbidden to open mosques here? Are Muslims forbidden to seek converts? Are Muslim girls being kidnapped and forced to marry Christians? Are Muslims being beheaded here by Christians and Jews? Do I have to say more?

I find it hilarious (and not a little disconcerting) that an ad pops up in your right sidebar for "The International Muslim Matrimonial Site" - muslima.com (http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/imgad?id=CP3-l9-z97isigEQoAEYwgQyCJ7z76J9CeWH) with a picture of a shmatta-wrapped muslima. They're invading everywhere, like mutant zombies!

Shouldn't Senator Obama be in jail for his campaign's illegal electioneering practices in Ohio? He IS legally responsible for what his campaign office does.

Maybe when that guy Berg in Philly finishes with his lawsuit against Obama over his avowed lack of US citizenship (is he or is he not a US citizen???---we think NOT!), we can get started on a lawsuit prosecuting Mr. Obama for his electioneering through Ohio mosques (and perhaps in other states as well).

That's funny--MOSQUES; didn't Obama state publicly that he's a Christian??? Maybe we can throw in a lawsuit prosecuting this guy for election fraud, too.

Would't it be a reassuring sight to see Senator Obama being led away from the White House in handcuffs? Some might even call it one of the prettiest sights on earth...

Obama must keep this group CAIR busy..I just read somewhere a lawyer named JOSEPH SANDLER is representing Obama in this lawsuit that was brought on by
Phillip Berg for Obama to prove his eligibility...also read where Sandler is council for the DNC and for CAIR..
and Obama denies Muslim connections????
