UPDATE: No peaceful protest but Jew beating is OK -
From Jewish Member Of Pro-Cologne Beaten Up By Pro-Islam Thugs Sheik Yer Mami
I am the “eyewitness” you quoted in the story. I would like you to know that two Jews were beaten up. I am leaving Cologne with a broken rib. I was readily identifiable as Jewish from my Kippa. As they were attacking me, they were yelling “Nazi”.
How odd is that? Two jews beaten on the streets of Germany, by Germans who were calling us Nazis. All of this in reposne to us out there in the streets trying to protect their cultural heritage and right to exist.
UPDATE 2:01pm: A personal account of yesterday’s demo in Köln: Antifas block access to a demo: “We are the authority”. German police lines behind them. Read his account. He was there.

They refer to those nazis also called Jews.

Demonstrators are confronted by police as they protest against an international "anti-Islamification congress"
I saw a 15 second snippets worth of coverage of the
brave souls (here's a quick video of them) attempting the anti-Islamisation rally (which was banned at
the last moment)in Cologne on FOX News . The authorities and the
Islamists and leftists were violent. And those standing for the West were called Nazis. That's how the narrative is being drawn. That's like calling me a Nazi. Get real. Unfrickinbelievable. More -a video of a Reuters news report here -scroll to bottom of the post (in Germany). Let the man speak! Racism my eye - the canard to shut up freedom lovers. Islam is not a race. It's a system - military, social, religous, violent. Gates of Vienna has coverage: Aviel left additional comments on the earlier threads about Pro-Köln with these first-hand descriptions of what happened in Cologne today: I
would like to say that I was beaten on Einbahnstrasse for trying to get
to Heumarkt. The police would love to report that “only dozens made
it”, when in fact they sat and watched as I was dragged about and
beaten for trying to get to the conference. They sat and allowed the
Antifa to attack another man, well into his sixties, who also tried to
cross through their (Antifa’s) illegal street blockades. The police
aided the violence, they did not stop it. Anyway I have video
and photo documentation for (GoV) if you are interested in posting it.
I would also like to send a timeline and article over covering the
events on Friday and those which are continuing as we speak. I have
rested up and we are headed back out into the night to get some
more
footage of the madness. As I said, it is really a dark night for
Germany and for Cologne. I wrote earlier today
that violent anarchists, with the tacit cooperation of the city
authorities, were in the process of suppressing and disrupting the
planned anti-Islamization conference in Cologne. Since then, the Antifa thugs have succeeded: the conference has been canceled. (more from the Baron) Photo above: Radical leftists, dressed as clowns, fought riot police on the streets.
Video: German police ban anti-mosque rally Video: Street clashes in Germany
I have not found an English video but this one gives you the sense of what and who the "stop the Islamisation" crowd is vs. the Islamists and leftist thugs that violently harass and taunt the peaceful protesters with the authorities complicity. The Nazis calling the victims Nazis? Who are the Nazis? You tell me. The whole thing is painful to watch. The Muslims and their tactics are stolen right from the pages of Hitler's brown shirts. And the elites (in Germnay, in Brussels. in the EU) protect and serve their Islamic masters.
TundraTabloids covered the attempted to BANNED rally here: In short, socialists
have found it not too difficult of an ideological trip to make in their
journey from one color to the other, without even the raising of an
eyebrow. It's as interesting of a phenomenon as it is creepy. Some of the counter-demonstrators lunged for
officers' pistols while others threw stones and firecrackers. The
injured officer was hit by a firecracker. Police said they detained
about five people.
Police forced the Pro-Cologne nationalist group to call off the
rally because there were fears that more serious violence would take
place, police spokesman Burkhard Rick said. About 3,000 officers had
been deployed to keep peace between the two groups.
"The security of citizens of Cologne has top priority," Rick said.
The
Pro-Cologne group had planned to rally against what it calls the
"Islamification" of the ethnically diverse city. Organizers had hoped
to criticize plans to build a large, domed mosque - complete with two
55-meter-tall minarets - in Cologne's Ehrenfeld district.
But by midday just 30 Pro-Cologne supporters had managed to
reach the rally site, a Some 5,000 more counter-demonstrators attended a peaceful rally nearby.
Cologne mayor Fritz Schramma told the crowd that the three-day nationalists' convention had hurt the city's reputation.
Saturday was the second of the three-day conference that
Pro-Cologne billed as an attempt to build a "European, patriotic,
populist right-wing movement." The group had invited members of
nationalist parties from other European nations to attend.
Opening events Friday were severely hampered when hundreds of
largely peaceful protesters managed to prevent the group's leaders from
holding a news conference in a municipal building, forcing
Pro-Cologne's supporters to seek refuge on a rental boat cruising the
Rhine River. Eight people were arrested for throwing stones and paint
balls at the boat.
An estimated 120,000 Muslims live in Cologne, widely viewed as one of Germany's most tolerant and well-integrated major cities. Oh yeah, it sounds, what was that word? oh yeah, "well integrated". 120,000 Muslims our of a population of 300,000 - yeah, well integrated if you're a Moslim. of counter-demonstrators blocked streets leading to the square.
"Hi my dear Germans, It is pity that most of you do not have a clue what democracy and freedom mean. The entire press and all the politicians seem to be very happy that violent thugs can impose their will. I can only despise your lot, from taxi drivers to hotel owners to police officers to politicians."
Comments such as these seem to be beyond the bounds, even for a conservative newspaper like Die Welt.
Newspaper Die Welt put up an online poll asking their readers whether they thought it was OK to to ban the anti-Islamization demo. As of midnight yesterday, 86% disagreed with this policy. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, thousands of new votes miraculously came in and the vote ended with exactly 50% in favor of the ban.

Fallaci! Her warning, her alarm in 2002 is more timely now, more necessary now - A Sermon for the West Oriana Fallaci
On October 22, 2002, Oriana Fallaci addressed an audience at the American Enterprise Institute. Following are short excerpts from her talk. Ms. Fallaci, a native of Florence, Italy and a life-long journalist, caused turmoil across Europe with the publication of her book The Rage and the Pride, calling the West to stand up to the Islamic world.
I don’t hide. I never have. I stay at home because I like to stay at home, and at home I work. I have not appeared in public for at least ten years. No interviews, no TV.
Why am I here, then? Because, since September 11, we are at war. Because the front line of that war is here, in America. Because when I was a war correspondent, I liked to be on the front line. And this time, in this war, I do not feel as a war correspondent. I feel as a soldier. The duty of a soldier is to fight. And to fight this war, I deploy a personal weapon. It is not a gun. It’s a small book, The Rage and The Pride.
My soldier weapon is the weapon of truth. The truth that begins with the truth I maintain in these pages:
From Afghanistan to Sudan, from Palestine to Pakistan, from Malaysia to Iran, from Egypt to Iraq, from Algeria to Senegal, from Syria to Kenya, from Libya to Chad, from Lebanon to Morocco, from Indonesia to Yemen, from Saudi Arabia to Somalia, the hate for the West swells like a fire fed by the wind. And the followers of Islamic fundamentalism multiply like a protozoa of a cell which splits to become two cells then four then eight then sixteen then thirty-two to infinity. Those who are not aware of it only have to look at the images that the TV brings us every day. The multitudes that impregnate the streets of Islamabad, the squares of Nairobi, the mosques of Tehran. The ferocious faces, the threatening fists. The fires that burn the American flag and the photos of Bush.
“The clash between us and them is not a military clash. Oh, no. It is a cultural one, a religious one. And our military victories do not solve the offensive of Islamic terrorism. On the contrary, they encourage it. They exacerbate it, they multiply it. The worst is still to come.”
President Bush has said, “We refuse to live in fear.”
Beautiful sentence, very beautiful. I loved it! But inexact, Mr. President, because the West does live in fear. People are afraid to speak against the Islamic world. Afraid to offend, and to be punished for offending, the sons of Allah. You can insult the Christians, the Buddhists, the Hindus, the Jews. You can slander the Catholics, you can spit on the Madonna and Jesus Christ. But, woe betide the citizen who pronounces a word against the Islamic religion.
My small book is not tender with Islam. In certain passages, it is even ferocious. But it is much more ferocious with us: with us Italians, us Europeans, us Americans.
I call my book a sermon—addressed to the Italians, to the Europeans, the Westerners. And along with the rage, this sermon unchains the pride for their culture, my culture. That culture that in spite of its mistakes, its faults, even monstrosities, has given so much to the world. It has moved us from the tents of the deserts and the huts of the woods to the dignity of civilization. It has given us the concept of beauty, of morals, of freedom, of equality. It has made the unique conquest in the social field, in the realm of science. It has wiped out diseases. It has invented all the tools that make life easier and more intelligent, those tools that our enemy can also use, for instance, to kill us. It has brought us to the moon and to Mars, and this cannot be said of the other culture. A culture, which has produced and produces only religion, which in every sense imprisons women inside the burkah or the chador, which is never accompanied by a drop of freedom, a drop of democracy, which subjugates its people under theocratical, oppressive regimes.
Socrates and Aristotle and Heraclitus were not mullahs. Jesus Christ, neither. Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelangelo, and Galileo, and Copernicus, and Newton and Pasteur and Einstein, the same.
My book is also a j’accuse. To accuse us of cowardice, hypocrisy, demagogy, laziness, moral misery, and of all that comes with that. The stupidity of the unbearable fad of political correctness, for instance. The paucity of our schools, our universities, our young people, people who often don’t even know the story of their country, the names Jefferson, Franklin, Robespierre, Napoleon, Garibaldi. And no understanding that freedom cannot exist without discipline, self-discipline.
I accuse ourselves also of another crime: the loss of passion. Haven’t you understood what drives our enemies? What permits them to fight this war against us? The passion! They have passion! They have so much passion that they can die for it!
Their leaders, too, of course. I met Khomeini. I discussed with him for more than six hours in calm, and I tell you that that man was a man of passion. I never met bin Laden. But I have well observed his eyes. I have well listened to his voice. And I tell you that that man is a man of passion. We have lost passion.
Well, I have not. I boil with passion. I, too, am ready to die for passion. But around me, I see no passion. Even those who hate me and attack me and insult me do this without passion. They are mollusks, not men and women. And a civilization, a culture, cannot survive without passion, cannot be saved without passion. If the West does not wake up, if we do not refind passion, we are lost.
To quote from my book:
“The problem is that the solution does not depend upon the death of Osama bin Laden. Because the Osama bin Ladens are too many, by now: as cloned as the sheep of our research laboratories…. In fact, the best trained and the more intelligent do not stay in the Muslim countries... They stay in our own countries, in our cities, our universities, our business companies. They have excellent bonds with our churches, our banks, our televisions, our radios, our newspapers, our publishers, our academic organizations, our unions, our political parties…. Worse, they live in the heart of a society that hosts them without questioning their differences, with- out checking their bad intentions, without penalizing their sullen fanaticism.
[“I]f we continue to stay inert, they will become always more and more. They will demand always more and more, they will vex and boss us always more and more. ’Til the point of subduing us. Therefore, dealing with them is impossible. Attempting a dialogue, unthinkable. Showing indulgence, suicidal. And he or she who believes the contrary is a fool.”

They'll get it someday, but will way to late to fix it. Europeans, enjoy the cesspool Eurabia is creating. Think you will be able to demonstrate in say 20 years? The leftards will be begging to get out.

Not in My Backyard, Say an Increasing Number of Germans By Jochen Bölsche http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,565146,00.html

Dear Pamela;
Now let me get this straight. These are actual German citizens? They would rather live in a Caliphate? And be ruled by Islamic Law? They would rather live in subjugation, and pay the jizya tax? Under the thumb of hateful, intolerant, anti-western, anti-woman, anti-freedom, anti-twenty first century Muslims?
This has got to be the most perfect example of insanity.
This has got to be the most perfect example of stupidity.
It certainly appears, in my humble opinion, that we are witnessing the slow, but sure demise of western Europe. And they, the Germans, the French, the English, et al., must have known that Islam was a poisonous snake before they brought it in. And yet they brought it in anyway. And now, and for some time, this poisonous Islamic snake is biting hard, and pumping mass quantities of extremely toxic venom, into European society.
Sincerely;
EJO
Dear America;
You're next! If you don't wake up.

leftists, from anywhere on the globe, will ally with any movement that promises to help destroy their most hated enemies: Israel, capitalism, the USA, freedom; the color of global fascism is now green.

It is not just exaggeration or diffamation by leftists, newspapers and a huge number of citizens to call the organizers rightwings. They are utmost rightwing. The attitude of the thousands of protestors towards Islam is another question. But it is important to say: these so called critics of Islam and mosque-building from the cologne based Pro-Koeln do not stand for the West.
In fact they try to appeal to citizens by presenting themselves as a citizen movement that is conservative and an alternative to the real civil-law parties. Looking at them again you get to know that they mean by it. They make cooperations with NPD, the antisemitic neonazi-party of Germany. And from the militant rightwing spectrum they are seen as an option to get antidemocratic views into mainstream citizen-discourse. One of the planned speakers of last weekend was former NPD-candidate Harald Neubauer who also is publisher of "Nation und Europa" (Nation and Europe), founded 1952 by a former high SS-officer. The approach of Pro-Koeln is to form a german Lega Nord or FPÖ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnopluralism). And the leader of this party, Manfred Rouhs, was member in youth organization of the NPD and later made career in party itself. See here, the guy with megaphone: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/f/f9/001_Manfred_Rouhs.jpg . The two guys on the right seem like they try to look very nationalsocialist.
Another example of the antihumanitarian and authoritarian course of this group is an incident back in 1993 when the group was still called "Deutsche Liga für Volk und Heimat" but almost identical with todays leading staff. Although 1993 there was civil war in Macedonia a Romani was sent by back by german government into the warzone. Refugee-supporters that criticed the descision were getting active and took her back to Cologne. Keeping in mind that besides Jews the Roma People were main targets in the German genocidal war, this group was rewarding 500€ for capturing her. So instead of comparing leftists (that have only been a minor group in this big protest) with nazis, for this group with its old german tactic of organized manhunt the name would fit better. But don't understand me wrong, I do not want to downplay antisemitism in German left.
An last anecdote of the event last weekend: when the cancellation of the "congress" got official one of the protestors at the Pro-Koeln meeting declared: 'That is the secret dictatorship of the zionists and the greatcapitalist!'
