CONCERNED WOMEN ORGANIZE PROTEST OF MENNONITES, QUAKERS,WORLD COUNCIL CHURCHES SALUTE AHMADINEJAD DINNER
This is real sickness. Unimaginable. These pathetic women and "religious leaders" should be forced forced to bury the numerous bodies of those publicly hanged in Iran.
The promise of a second holocaust of the Jews seems to titillate these souless fools.
The American Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker United Nations Office, Religions for Peace, World Council of Churches – United Nations Liaison Office are having an Iftar – a dinner to break the Ramadan fast—with "religious leaders" and AHMADINEJAD next week, THURSDAY, SEPT. 25 at 6pm in New York. The invitation is below.
We need to mobilize other religious leaders to counter the Ahmadinejad lovefest because it is very important that religion not be hijacked and that Israel and the U.S. be defended from Ahmadinejad's regime.
There will be a demonstration against this abomination from 5.30 on.
We will be broadcasting into Iran as well.

Here is the original invitation:
An invitation toan international dialogue between religious leaders and political figures:
"Has not one God created us?"
The significance of religious contributions to peace
It is an honor to invite you to participate with religious, cultural, and political leaders in a conversation about the role of religions in tackling global challenges and building peaceful societies at an Iftar – a dinner to break the Ramadan fast.
In the presence of
His Excellency Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
With contributions from
His Excellency Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann, President of the General Assembly of the United Nations
His Excellency the Rev. Kjell Bondevik, former Prime Minister of Norway and President of the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights
and distinguished religious leaders
This conversation is the fourth in a series of high-level bridge-building and reconciliation efforts that have helped to build mutual understanding between our peoples, nations and religious traditions. It is our hope that as religious and political leaders, this communal meal and exchange of views will enable us to explore faith perspectives for dealing with global issues such as poverty, war and prejudice while deepening mutual understanding.
The dinner will be at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 109 East 42nd Street, New York, N.Y., on Thursday, September 25, 2008, beginning with evening prayers from several religious traditions. Please arrive by 6:00 pm to clear security. Following dinner and presentations, the moderator will open the floor for comments and discussion.
Please note, entrance to this event is by limited invitation only. Some members of the media have been invited to cover the event.
RSVP by e-mail to sept25@us.mcc.org no later than Monday, September 15, 2008, confirming you interest in participation and sending us your mailing address. After confirmation of your participation, we will send a card explaining procedures for entry to the event.
The Sponsoring Committee welcomes your participation and appreciates the cooperation of the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in co-hosting this event.
UPDATED CLARIFICATION: Concerned Women for America, the nation's largest public policy women's organization, is against this dinner for Ahmadinejad.
UPDATE: PALIN INVITED TO PROTEST!
Women United has extended an invitation Governor Sarah Palin, among others, to address a press conference and rally to "Stop Ahmadinejad", taking place in front of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City on Thursday, September 25th protesting a meeting being held at the hotel between Iran's President Ahmadinejad and various organizations wishing to open up with him a dialogue and who appear thereby to be providing tacit legitimacy to the Iranian president's policies.

As I remember this was an extract of a long article about the Iran-Iraq War and the Basiji in some ponderous foreign affairs journal -- my brief google search didn't turn it up readily, but hopefully the full article is out there.
As I remember Ahmadinejad was said to have been a leader and organizer of the child army. It is even worse than the extract indicates -- how terrible and darkened the soul that could give children plastic keys "to Paradise!" and order them to roll through minefields as human detonators.
Yet the those children were recruited at gunpoint, by armed parties of recruiters that went from village to village and took a child from each family, or took all the "deficient" -- feeble, handicapped, downs-syndrome from a village instead to be used as human mine-detectors.
That's the man the Quakers honor! Honor a murderer and become a murderer too. The Quakers cast their lot for blood.

okay people, time to get busy:
tell everyone you know to send letters and make phone calls to:
the hotel hosting this event, and the organizations participating.
when you contact them say you are with an organizaton...and even if you make up the name, make it sound big. and tell them that you are organizing a nation-wide boycott; that their organization will be on a list where people are encouraged to not patronize them and that this will extend to supporters and advertisers with the organization.
when you call, be polite, ask to speak to the executive office, the presidents office etc. you probably will speak to an assistant, which is fine.
politely, yet firmly express your 'serious concern' outrage etc. as long as you keep your voice even toned and are civil with the other party the more likely you are to have your 'concern' voiced to the people in charge.
you can give your actual name or another name, it's up to you.
the more they hear from people: phone calls, letters, emails etc. the more they feel it.
i will start by calling hyatt's national offices and ask to speak to the presidents office.
as livid as we may be, using our voices and our ideas (boycott, contacting advertisers etc) the more effect we can have.
lastly, whatever organizations, political groups etc that you know of, let them know. forward this piece from atlas, for example.
wonder if we can get mccain/palin to comment on it?

i just called the hyatt hotel and left a message for matt adams, the vice president.
i told him of my concern and who achdiminijad was and his plans to destroy israel.
i then suggested to him that he cancel the event and make a public statement saying that the hotel refuses to host such a hatefilled man who is the next 'hitler-wannabe'.
i said that this would make the hotel look like an organization of integrity and be good for business.
i went on like that etc.
the more calls they get, the better.
i will now call the hyatt national offices:
312-750-1234 200 west madison st., chicago 60606
president: mark hotlamazian
assistant: shawn liefer
i left a message for shawn expressing my outrage, concern and disgust. i also suggested that they cancel the event. i said that in the long run it would be good for business. "imagine" i said, "down the line if business and others who need to make hotel reservations for conferences, conventions etc consider the hyatt and then say, 'oh wait, isn't that the hotel who hosted that wanna-be hitler from iran?' let's find another hotel"
see? this is how you get them worried.

for non-nyc residents: you can organize a protest at your local hyatt hotel on 9/25 to correspond with the one in nyc.
imagine if there were protests at 50 or 100 hyatt hotels accross the country?
they would definitely notice.
or, i suggest that the protest be done before the 25th also so they have an 'opportunity' to cancel the event. unfortunately, the head of hyatt hotels probably knows well who they are hosting and either supports him or tacitly supports him out of greed.
hit em in the wallet baby, i will never stay at a hyatt hotel again.

Does anyone know if Ahmadinejad is going to try to sneak over to gloat at Ground Zero, as he wanted to do, last time he was in NYC? It shouldn't be allowed, ever. (Preaching to the choir, I know...)
I'm starting to have physical reactions, whenever I read that little monkey's name, and they aren't pleasant. (My sincere apologies to all little monkeys--It's not that he acts like you, only that he looks like you...)

I am so disgusted by this whole Interfaith Diaglogue (ecumenical movement) HOAX, which is an anti-Israel political movement disguised as religion. The leaders are heavily involved in Obama's campaign. Please go to the official A Common Word website and click on the Practical Outcomes and the Final Statement links to get an idea of where this movement is going--they've got books and a website to be released soon and a serious of followup conferences already scheduled.

URGENT Pamela - there's a significant error in this post. The information connecting Concerned Women of America with this Ahmadinejad meeting is absolutely not correct. Please correct the post as soon as possible including the title.
