I got on to this, from a single sentence in his Bio at the Wiki: Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.[

What caught my attention, was the fact there was no hyperlink nder "Gamaliel Foundation"; normally, the Wiki hyperlinks EVERYTHING; even dates, and other things that need no hyperlink. I noticed that, and my first thought, was well, maybe it doesn't exist anymore. Then, to be sure, I got curious and Googled it; guess what, it DOES exist, and it's obvious why Obama doesn't want anyone to check it out:

Interesting stuff; Obama only ever mentions he was a "community organizer"; why no mention of the "Gamaliel Foundation"??

Also, it appears he went to work for the "Gamaliel Foundation", about the same time he "discovered" the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright; no coincidence, I guess??

Also, Google "Obama" & "Gamaliel", and read some interesting stuff...

The guy really gets scarier, the more I research his background...

Yisrael, Akiba is the name of Wright's Trinity United Church book store.
Why did they name the store "Akiba"? Two ideas:

1. It's named after a church member/supporter and that was his name.

2. In reverence to the Talmud's Rabbi Akiva, for his famous quote, "'Love thy neigbor as thyself' - this is a (NOTE: not "the") great principle of the Torah", which many of our observant Jewish children sing during their Gan (kindergarten) years.

Humorously enough, if 2 is correct, check out the story about Rabbi Eliezer and his student, Rabbi Akiva, in Tractate Avodah Zarah, 16:B-17B. Maybe they'll regret naming the store after him, if they are capable of catching on.

And now I'll let someone else theorize why, according to Dale's post above, there's a radical organization named Gamaliel, which sounds like a distortion of Gamliel, which may have come from Rabbi Gamliel, who was a contemporary of Rabbi Akiva. Curiouser and curioser.
