Ramsey County sheriff's deputies found weapons and devices to disable buses - among other items - in searches in the Twin Cities last night and today.

Authorities said the items came from "key members of the RNC Welcoming Committee," a self-described anarchist group.

Five people have been arrested and four properties have been searched, according to the sheriff's office.

At 8 a.m. today, the sheriff's office executed search warrants at three Minneapolis homes - 2301 23rd Ave. S., 3500 Harriet Ave. and 3240 17th Ave. S. The FBI, Minneapolis police and the Hennepin County sheriff's office assisted them.

"The 'Welcoming Committee' is a criminal enterprise made up of 35 anarchists who are intent on committing criminal act.

before and during the Republican National Convention," said Sheriff Bob Fletcher in a statement. "These acts include tactics to blockade and disable delegate buses, breaching venue security and injuring police officers. They have recruited assistance in their criminal conspiracy from other anarchists groups throughout the country. Through their plans and actions they have exhibited a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of others."

The statement said the items found in the searches included:

Materials to create "sleeping dragons" (PVC pipe, chicken wire, duct tape), which is when protesters lock themselves together

Large amounts of urine, including three to five gallon buckets of urine

Wrist rockets (high-poweredslingshots)

A machete, hatchet and several throwing knives

a gas mask and filter

Empty glass bottles

Rags

Flammable liquids

Homemade caltrops (devises used to disable buses in roads)

Metal pipes

Axes

Bolt cutters

Sledge hammers

Rapelling equipment

Kryptonite locks

Empty plastic buckets cut and made into shields

Material for protective padding

An Army helmet.

The five people being held at the Hennepin County jail are under arrest on suspicion of conspiracy to riot, conspiracy to commit civil disorder and conspiracy to damage property.

GUSTAV:LEFTWING MEDIA RESURRECTS KATRINA TO BASH BUSH

Stuck at the airport ,,,,,,,,,held prisoner by CNN on all the monitors and I am struck (no, really) by the leftwing media's sheer joy at the opportunity to trot out the fallacious "Bush killed people KATRINA!" meme. It's bad enough we are all holding our breath waiting for this cat 5 hurricane to hit the gulf coast. I won't even go into the orgasmic glee the Democrats are experiencing at the timing of Gustav during the RNC (Bush has cancelled his appearance as have many form the Gulf states).

The lying leftists, yet again, place the blame of the worst storm in US history squarely at their god, Bush. Bush is most certainly their g-d for he is responsible for all the evil in the world, all the bad things that have ever happened to good people, for all the failures of Democrat administrations.

The fact is ................ the loss of life and destruction of Katrina was most glaring proof of the failed welfare state  aka the Democrat statism model. It was a Democrat mayor, a Democrat governor, a Democrat political machine in Louisiana that is responsible for the lack of actions, response and coordination of pre and post Katrina efforts.

Look at every incident in American history. First responders and local government are responsible. Who can forget Mayor Giuliani on and after 9/11.

Nagin failed that city Nagin did not evacuate that city. Nagin left those buses empty. Nagin didn't evacuate nursing homes and hospitals. Now of course, he is evacuating but I suspect the effort has been removed from his jurisdiction. Bush gave him too much credit, too much say pre and post Katrina, I am sure FEMA is the point man now. This will not be left to a corrupt and silly man again and I am sure it will be handled as deftly as possible under these trying circumstances.

The Democrats and the leftwing media enjoy this and will use Katrina to club the American psyche over the head yet again despite the fact that it was an unequivocal leftist failure.

I have little sympathy for a New Orleans that re-elected a completely incompetent Nagin. NONE.How could they possibly consider electing this completely useless, affable, failure of a mayor to another term? .  They are certifiably nuts.

The naked truth that Katrina reveals is the failure of the welfare state, the pathetic ineptitude of corrupt elected officials, and the decay of political patronage on democratically elected state and local governments.

The juxta of how the  Republicans handled disasters in Texas (and Florida) spoke volumes to management, administration and controlled chaos.

The best evidence is the stark contract of two states experiencing like disasters. The efficiency of Texas and the incapacitation of Louisiana during Rita and Katrina respectively is empirical evidence of the well run versus the well worn.That Louisianians elect and support this kind of government than clearly they have no one to fault but themselves.

Blame Bush, indeed.

The modern laws of media hype and political warfare have a useful tenet:

Repeat ANYTHING or raise false concern over ANYTHING and it is likely to be planted in the conscious/subconscious of many voters.

If people start to think that there might be something fishy with Palin's last kid (if hers), then that's FINE. One more doubt (whether tied to reality or not) is another hesitation at the ballot box.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM PEOPLE. The "rising above it" bullshit has served us so well in the past, hasn't it?

If you have problems with the story, then STFU and get out of the way of Dems who are engaged in MODERN POLITICAL WARFARE. Go tend your garden or some other pedestrian task, because the "concern trolls" are not helping shape the message.

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her "Dan Quayle" on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as "just terrible." They both agreed that, "Other than the simple fact that she's a female," she has nothing to offer.

So you see, it's funny. That New Orleans will get a hurricane. That's funny because it is due to hit when President Bush is scheduled to speak. Isn't that cool? Fowler isn't the only one who thinks so, just ask Michael Moore.

Voter Registration alive and well in Denver! Several PUMA members were out and about in Denver trying to savor some of the ambiance when they were approached by a group of young people registering voters in Denver. They tried to register this group to vote — all of them are registered voters in other states. The young people never asked where they lived, only if they wanted to register to vote.

These PUMAs caught up with me in between gigs….excited and confused, they needed to tell me the story of voter registration in Denver. These ladies poliely declined to re-register but asked a question of these young people. They asked, where are these voter registration forms going….. the answer: MoveOn.org!

They have endorsed Obama and promised to mobilize their members on Obama’s behalf.

Why are voter registration forms being sent to MoveOn.org?

CNN's Roberts: Palin Too Young and Inexperienced

During the 9 a.m. EDT hour of “CNN Newsroom,” “American Morning” co-anchor John Roberts gave an analysis of Governor Sarah Palin during discussion of Senator John McCain's vice presidential choice. Roberts focused on Palin's lack of experience, saying that a prerequisite for the vice presidency should be the ability to step right into the office, especially because of McCain's age. Roberts stated:

She's only been in office for a couple of years now, which really raises the experience issue here.[...]

Now, she is a manager. She is the governor of a state. She does have limited experience, though. She's also been the mayor for a city in Alaska. And for a time she was the ethics chairman of the Alaska oil and gas conservation commission. But that does not add up to broad experience, particularly the type of broad experience you think should launch you to the national level.

Of course, Senator Barack Obama, who is running for president of the United States, has no executive experience and has only been in the U.S. Senate since 2005. But apparently, Roberts finds Palin to be too inexperienced and young to be vice president.

Sarah Palin is an anomaly in American politics. It's not because she's a woman, not because of her blue-collar background, and not because of her ability to juggle the titles of "governor" and "committed mother of five". Forget about all of that stuff for a moment; it's interesting, but if Barack Obama has taught us anything, it's that a compelling biography is not a qualification for leadership. Instead, Palin is unique because she can claim one of the broadest bases of support of any leader in our country. Other than the lunatic fringes of Alaska's kleptocratic political establishment, nobody hates her. Most politicians rise to power because they represent a certain wing of their party, and even some of their own partisans detest them. Mike Huckabee will never resonate with libertarian republicans, social conservatives cannot support Rudy Giuliani, certain evangelicals will always have a problem with Mitt Romney, and frankly I doubt that hard-core conservatives will ever fully embrace John McCain. That doesn't make them bad candidates; it just means that they face significant opposition within the Republican Party. Sarah Palin does not have that problem. I have been working to draft Gov. Palin as Vice President since February of 2007, and I can recount first hand how she has united divergent views among Republicans and is now even gaining Democratic support. The key is that she offers a combination of qualities that make her a hero to many, many different groups. For instance, two of our strongest bases of support have been social conservatives and libertarian republicans, who are normally at each other's throats. However, she offered both groups something that they desperately wanted without compromising any appeal to the other. The SoCons loved her pro-life, pro-family, and pro-gun positions, while the libertarians and fiscal conservatives cheered her on as she vetoed hundreds of millions of dollars of wasteful government spending. Getting those two groups to sing kum-ba-ya was enough of an accomplishment, but now it appears that a third group has found what it wants in Gov. Palin: McCainocrats.

For those Democrats who are considering abandoning the Obama ticket (primarily disillusioned Clinton supporters), Palin represents the final push into the Republican camp. Not only is she a woman (which, like it or not, is an issue for some voters), but she also puts a fresh, future-oriented face on the McCain campaign. By upending Alaska's corrupt political class, Palin has actually produced the type of change that Barack Obama can only talk about; and her collar is far bluer than Joe Biden's ever was. Furthermore, she is arguably the only candidate who has the necessary expertise to address the single most pressing issue in this election: gas prices. As Governor of Alaska, Chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (America's largest interstate organization), and a former Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Sarah Palin can run rings around almost anyone when it comes to oil.

The last candidate to assemble such a broad coalition of support was a gentleman by the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan. He not only won the presidency in two successive landslides, but went on to become one of the most beloved and effective presidents in recent history. Now, I realize that it is somewhat presumptuous of me to make this comparison, but I personally have no doubt that Sarah Palin has the capability to become the next Reagan. In fact, the only real question that I have heard is whether we should bring her to the forefront now as a VP candidate or save her for later as a full-fledged presidential hopeful in 2012. I personally choose the former, because the latter involves the defeat of John McCain and the election of President Obama and Vice President Biden. 2008 will be a crucial election year, with the winner being handed the responsibility for the Iraq war, the gasoline crisis, the Russo-Georgian conflict, and any number of other issues. The stakes are simply too high to throw McCain under the bus and bide our time. Likewise, Sen. McCain should realize that the stakes are too high for him to select a VP candidate who simply "does no harm" rather than pushing his ticket over the top.

There is one sure fire solution to this problem, one way to guarantee a McCain surge, one way to put Obama on the defensive, and one way to steamroll to victory in November. Her name is Sarah Palin

She is a real maverick in Alaska politics she accused two fellow Republicans of corruption and when no one would listen she quit a prestigious post on the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Eventually the two accused were thrown out of office, enhancing her reputation in Alaskan politics to no end, and eventually leading to her being elected Governor. So she's obviously no nonsense. She's on the right side of all causes that are important to conservatives, and she actually favors more drilling for oil and gas on Alaskan property than does McCain. But will Hillary supporters vote McCain because there's a woman on his ticket? Will other voters accept the idea of a 44-year-old Vice President with so little experience?

But but they are supposed accept it in a President? I'd take an "inexperienced" person with integrity and courage over an old beltway whore any day.

I am listening to the pundits and while I agree that Obama is the only politician that could fill aan 85,000 stadium with bodies, I am not nearly as impressed.

Madonna can fill a stadium too - that won't make her President. I say it won't fly in flyover country. That's my take. All those Hollyweird types - spouting their absurd nonsense. Here is a reenlistment ceremony from Baghdad on the 4th of July. Somehow this did not make it onto network news broadcasts. Attached are pictures of what is reputedly the 'largest re-enlistment ceremony ever held in military history'.

The ceremony was held July 4, 2008 at Al Faw Palace, Baghdad, Iraq. General Petraeus officiated.

A pizzeria in Chicago donated 2000 pizzas that were made (frozen), shipped on Sunday, arrived in Baghdad Wednesday and were fed to the troops on the 4th.  Oh, by the way, the media did report on the 2000 pizzas...just not what they were for"

Obama has never gotten ahead on his work or merit, his signature is backroom fixes and skulduggery.

Kurtz gained national attention when Kurtz had the door "slammed in his face by the University of Illinois at Chicago which first consented - then flatly refused - to allow Kurtz to see the records of the most important post Obama ever held before becoming US Senator - i.e., chairman of the "Chicago Annenberg Challenge" committee.  Obama was its chairman - handpicked by the person who started that committee, the same person who was responsible for the committee's endowment of $49.2 million which was earmarked for the schools of Chicago." One female caller, when pressed about what precisely she objected to, simply replied, "We just want it to stop!" Another angry caller was asked what "lies" Kurtz had told in any of his reporting on Barack Obama. The thoughtful response? "Everything he said is dishonest." The same caller later refused to get into "specifics." Another gentleman called Kurtz "the most un-American person" he'd ever heard. Several of the callers did not even know Stanley's name, most had obviously never read a sentence of his meticulous research, and more than simply read verbatim from the Obama talking points.

As Rosenberg repeatedly pointed out that Team Obama had been offered the opportunity to take part in the conversation, the agitated masses adapted their argument to suggest it was outrageous to request an interview from the Obama campaign in the thick of the DNC. Delivering the line of the night, Rosenberg countered, "The Obama national headquarters is just down the street from here. They obviously have the time to send out these angry emails, but they can't walk a few blocks to our studios?"

Throughout the open-line segments, Rosenberg and Kurtz wore incredulous expressions. The hostile callers were so bereft of any legitimate argument, there was little to do but sit back and marvel at what was going on.

The experience was surreal, amusing, and chilling. In a matter of hours, a major national campaign had called on its legions to bully a radio show out of airing an interview with a legitimate scholar asking legitimate political questions. Coupled with the Obama campaign's recent attempts to sic the DOJ on the creators of a truthful political advertisement —which also happened to feature Obama's relationship with an unrepentant terrorist— last night's call to action represents an emerging pattern. Any criticism of Obama's unknown past is to be immediately denounced as a "smear," and the messenger is to be shut down at all costs.

Stanley Kurtz is poring through mounds of documents (access to which was initially blocked) in a public university's library that (a) establish a deeper link between a major party presidential nominee and a man who is proud of bombing US government buildings, and (b) shed light on said candidate's brief, unexplored executive experience. It's entirely understandable why the Obama campaign would prefer that the files remain out of the public eye until at least November 5, but Kurtz's careful research is completely within the bounds of reasonable inquiry. One might even argue it's vital that a man who may be the next leader of the free world be thoroughly vetted.

Why hasn't ACORN been stripped of its eligibility?

ACORN has been caught red handed registering dead people many, many times so why are they still allowed to do this? Why is anyone allowed to do this? Why the need for corrupt organizations to "register voters"?

If it were done properly, as it should be, every voter would register to vote on their own. Voting is a privilege. If you won't get off yer fat keyster to register, you don't deserve the honor of voting of a free republic. Remember those women in Afghanistan crossing over mountains and valleys just to vote? And Iraq?  Think about it.

Organizations such as ACORN seem to exist to hijack the system. As early as  Novemer 2006, I ran it post, "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE...  voting on election day" - appararently  a federal grand jury in Kansas City indicted four persons working for the group Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), accusing them of submitting more than 40,000 voter registration forms with fictitious names, phony signatures and bogus addresses.

Is this the kind of "change" Obambi" is shilling for? Tell me what he brings that is not evil and marxist?

Like I said, why is this group still allowed to register voters?

Soros in Control of National Voter Mobilization Efforts August 26, 2008 –George Soros is the prime mover behind America Votes, an umbrella organization of 48 entities involved in various voter-registration and mobilization drives in 14 states. America Votes received $2.15 million from George Soros and $854,000 from co-conspirator Peter Lewis (total over $3 million) in 2006, and $1.25 million (from Soros), along with $1.25 million from the SEIU and $1 million from (Democracy Alliance) Fund for America, in 2007. The Center for Responsive Politics says that, in 2006, they were the second best-financed election committee behind SEIU. In total, America Votes spent over $7 million in 2007, and has already spent $10 million this year. Reading their website, however, it is very unclear as to exactly what they do with all that money.

The board of America Votes (not to be confused with ACORN’s “Project Vote”) is loaded with Soros-connected operatives, including: SEIU director Anna Burger; Paul Booth operative Larry Scanlon; Howard Dean/MoveOn operative Arshad Hason; Center for Community Change director and Open Society advisor Deepak Bhargava; ACORN President Maude Hurd; and former senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi, Shamina Singh. Martin Frost, a former long-term Democratic Congressman from Dallas, is the titular President of the operation.

This money-stuffed Soros-ruled apparatus is perched in an advisory and intelligence-gathering role with various Democrat-affliliated entities. With ACORN’s “Project Vote,” it is to take the place of the moribund regular Democratic Party apparatus.

In May, much was made of Barack Obama’s public call to stop funding “outside organizations,” which he made following a meeting with his finance committee in Indianapolis. The coverage played this as a loss for David Brock’s Progressive Media USA and John Podesta’s Fund for America. Reading the fine print, however, this call indicated a Soros-led shift away from the public media, and toward more covert “voter registration” effort, all the time under his control. “We’re continuing with our fundraising and things have been going well for us,” Frost told an interviewer at that time.

Cuyahoga board probes ACORN voter registration drive Count Us Out blog

A national organization that conducts voter registration drives for low-income people has curtailed its push in Cuyahoga County after the Board of Elections accused its workers of submitting fraudulent registration cards.

The board is investigating the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Results of the inquiry could be turned over to the county prosecutor.

Board employees said ACORN workers often handed in the same name on a number of voter registration cards, but showing that person living at different addresses. Other times, cards had the same name listed, but a different date of birth. Still another sign of possible fraud showed a number of people living at an address that turned out to be a restaurant.

“I’m obviously very concerned,” Board Chairman Jeff Hastings said. “This goes to the essence of our democracy.”

ACORN had a part-time staff of 30 who worked five days a week to find unregistered people. The workers made $8 an hour and were required to sign up 20 voters in each five-hour shift.

The elections board’s registration department said in a report that ACORN’s quota contributed to the possible fraud.

ACORN stopped the registration efforts of the part-timers on Aug. 15. Three salaried employees continue the drive to sign up voters.

Kristopher Harsh, head organizer for the agency’s Cleveland office, said it is unlikely a full-fledged movement will resume before the Nov. 4 election.

ACORN has submitted about 75,000 voter registration cards to the Cuyahoga board this year.

Board employees are unsure how many of the cards are fraudulent. But the voter registration department received so many suspicious cards that it began compiling a binder with evidence. The binder grew to be an inch-thick.

More than 85 of Clinton's fundraisers, including Donald Trump, Univision chief executive Joseph Uva, cable mogul Charles Dolan, philanthropist Norma Hess and one of Florida's biggest lobbyists appear to be skipping Barack Obama when it comes to writing checks for the general election, according to an ABCNews.com review of campaign finance records.

These Clinton donors have contributed at least $200,000 to McCain's campaign in the last few months, an amount which doesn't include larger contributions to the Republican joint fundraising committees.

i would suggest 152 searchlights, or perhaps 134 (the number seems a bit indefinite) spread around the stadium, their shafts of light shining vertically into the night sky in an impressive wall of light behind mr. obama, rather dramatically, i should think, providing a dramatic thematic link to predecessors in history, and to his aspirations for his own rule and the rule of islamic principles over this supplicant land of our.

this technique is not without precedence, having been used rather memorably at an annual reichsparteitage des deutschen volkes ("national congress of the party of the german people") at the 9th party congress in nuremberg in 1937,*** the search light setting being designed and implemented by one albert speer, a talented german architect, and obviously a person possessed of a flair for the dramatic likely appreciated by our current messiah, mr. obama.  this display is a fine testament to the "leader" quality of any politician.

this light motif has since become known as "the cathedral of lights," and though oddly out of favor as of late, for reasons perhaps unbeknownst or recognize as limitations perhaps by mr. obama, and is well known for its stirring and uprising effects upon faithful adherents to certain causes.  it should find ground for ready and fervent response amongst mr. obama's latter day zealous supporters.

and, it should add fresh zest to mr. obama's flagging spirits.  i do not think anyone has used this stirring, graphic display of emotion and power since 1937, making mr. obama the perfect one, ... , well, i suppose to some people, including himself, he is already the perfect one, but i think that he is ready to step into the role he perceives for himself in history by this audacious display of drama and revealing light.

what say you?  i think it quite fitting for mr. obama, his party, and their joint proclivities and aspirations.

But while Biden's rhetoric on America's relationship with Israel is firm, his positions on issues critically important to Israel's national security call into question his willingness to stand by Israel. He is a staunch supporter of an Israeli transfer of the strategically critical Golan Heights to Syria and has harshly criticized the Bush administration for its refusal to support Israeli negotiations with Syria. At the same time, he downplays the significance of Syria's strategic alliance with Iran and its sponsorship of terrorists in Iraq, Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority. Belittling those ties, Biden has claimed repeatedly and without a shred of evidence that the Syrians really want to put all of that behind them.

Biden's positions on Iran are even more troubling. Over the past decade, since Iran's ballistic missile program and its nuclear program came into full view, Biden has distinguished himself both for his refusal to support tough U.S. diplomatic moves against Iran and for his absolute opposition to the notion of a U.S. military strike on Iran's nuclear installations. In 1998, Biden was one of only four senators to vote against the Iran Missile Proliferation Sanctions Act, a bill that punished foreign companies or other entities that sent Iran sensitive missile technology or expertise.

In February 2005, at a speech before the global Davos Conference, Biden said that Iran's quest for nuclear capabilities is understandable and called on the U.S. to address Iran's "emotional needs by signing a non-aggression pact with the mullocracy.

In September 2007, Biden was one of just a handful of senators who voted against a Senate resolution calling on the State Department to classify Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps a terrorist organization. The Revolutionary Guards is responsible for the insurgency in Iraq and for commanding, financing, arming and training Hizbullah, Hamas and other international terrorist groups. It is also responsible for securing and developing Iran's nuclear weapons project and its ballistic missile arsenal.

For his part, Obama managed to be absent from the Senate during the vote last year, though he stated his objection to the resolution referring to it as "excessively provocative.

As to attacking Iran's nuclear installations, though Biden has claimed he would not take the military option "off the table, he has spoken of impeaching President Bush if he attacks Iran's nuclear installations. Late last year the New Hampshire Seacoast Online reported, "Biden said that the best deterrent to prevent pre-emptive military action n Iran is to make it clear, even if it is at the end of [Bush's] final term, action will be taken against Bush to ensure 'his legacy will be marred for all time.'

In the weeks after the September 11 attacks, Biden was already thinking about appeasing Iran. In a New Republic profile in October 2001, Biden was quoted raising the following suggestion to his Senate staffers: "Seems to me this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran.

My friend Larry is in Time magazine. heh. Finally, the lamestream media, in its libtarded fog, did a piece on my source in Indonesia. I picked up Lary's intel on Obama in Indonesia  back in 2007 and have been running his original reportage for 18 months. And Jerome Corsi used all of Larry's work in his blockbuster bestseller, Obamanation.

It is one thing to be called "The Blogger Behind the Obama Hit Job" and quite another to be referred to as a "less-than-authoritative source". Needless to say, it naturally begs the question - Who would be an authoritative source? For much of America's mainstream media, the answer is of course themselves. But alas the times they are a changing.

On to the rebuttal.

Actually, the Obama camp and America's mainstream media has been disputing this from the very first day it was reported on this blog.

Actually, the post Time magazine is referring to was posted here on the 24th of January 2007 and not the 25th. And not to split hairs or anything, but don't forget that over here in Southeast Asia we are a day ahead of you guys back in America. (International Date Line). That would make my posting actually 2 days prior to the Associated Press report.

Having spent almost my entire adult life in Southeast Asia, I think I might have an idea of what goes on in the schools here and believe it or not, but after 20 years I don't need a weatherman to tell me which way the wind blows.

Obama and the Audacity of CNN

"Menerjang Harapan" is not an Indonesian phrase nor is it a distortion. It is two Indonesian words that are never used together. Google it (the two words together) and the only references you will find will be Barack Obama's own self-serving book.

In the context the words are used it leaves the actual meaning open to ambiguous interpretation, kind of like poetry if you will. As I stated and as many of the comments have conceded, the translation is incorrect and done in such a way as to excite the Indonesians. How exactly it excites the Indonesians is the only area of contention.

It is the truth that always prevails.

Will Emperor Obama feed the Christians to the Lions at the Obamassium?

UPDATE: THE OBAMESSIAH HAS BEEN ARRIVED IN DENVER AND HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY NOMINATED. It's official, we are in the fight for our very lives.

I predict that Obama's latest act of supreme hubris will be an unmitigated disaster. Apparently, the civic center in Denver is not big enough  for the Messiah's ego. Noooooooooo. He had to move it. In an unprecedented move,  the venue that was good enough for past presidents (great worthy men in comparison)  to accept their party's nomination is not nearly good enough for "the one" (and he is no JFK).

Staggering. Think about that. America will hate it. Resent it even.

I predict that Obama will fall flat on his holy face. Just as Obama's appearance before tens of thousands of unemployed Germans fell flat and turned millions of Americans off, setting off the  precipitous fall in his poll numbers, this will be worse. He doesn't have a giant rock concert performing before like he did in Germany that attracted all those unemployed Germans. Uh, I take that back, I bet there will be a rock concert first with all those Hollywood bobble heads :)

I just got a look at the decadent stage being built for "the one". How appropriate that this man whose presidency will absolutely mirror the fall of the great Roman empire would employ such an appropriate backdrop -- they can say Capital building - I know what it looks like.

It's a huge mistake. And Oybambi's marketing "war room" jumped the shark, I tell you. The fallout won't be pretty. Americans might like over the top in their debauched celebrities, but not in their public servants. A crown of thorns I'd say.

Will they be feeding the Christians to the lions too I wonder? It's an apt metaphor - America is indeed entering the den of lions.

Obama speech stage resembles ancient Greek temple hat tip Van

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall.

Democratic convention organizers said the theme for the evening is "Change We Can Believe In," which has been a consistent message of Obama's presidential campaign.

Obama's Benefactor: Dr. Khalid al Mansour, I presume ...

Percy Sutton, NYC  political icon in the African American community, tells a news reporter that Dr. Khalid al Mansour solicited favor and recommendation on behalf of Barack Hussein Obama in order to secure Barack's entry into Harvard. Think about that.

During the 1950's and 1960's, Percy Sutton became one of American's best known lawyers. He represented many controversial figures such as Malcolm X and argued many cases (photo: Malcolm X and Percy Sutton at a Harlem rally on Seventh Avenue between 125th and 126th streets, 1963)

Richard Fernanadez over at Fallback Belmont has a very curious piece on the ever changing Obama narrative concerning this jawdropper revealed by Amanda  Carpenter in her  post over at Townhall, Are Khalid al Mansour and Obama Friends?. This bombshell story asks more questions than it answers. And  Wretchard's twist on just which Mansour we are talking about is a whole other question.

Obama's mentors, friends, comrades tells us his story. These associations  show us who he is. Terrible, all of it.
I often wondered where Obama got the money for his long strange trip. But this, Dr. Khalid al Mansour development is .... outta hand.

Sutton is an unabashed Obama supporter. The last thing he would want to do is hurt Obama. And if you watch the video, it is obvious Sutton is telling the story of Mansour and Obama with great pride. And the reporter is sharing, kvelling along with Sutton. Both see nothing wrong with what he is saying.

The Wrong Man, Sir

Townhall links to a video in which civil rights activist Percy Sutton claimed he was asked by a certain “Dr. Khalid al Mansour”, adviser to ‘one of the richest men in the world’ to write a letter of reccomendation on behalf of Barack Obama to help him gain acceptance to Harvard many years ago.  Mansour was raising money for Obama at the time, according to Sutton, which is strange in itself. Townhall identifies the Mansour in question as a preacher from Islam Studios. A video purporting to show Dr. Mansour exemplifies his somewhat comical style of preaching is featured. However, Townhall may have erred in its identification of the right Mansour. The Islamic preacher featured in the video is unlikely to have been any kind of adviser to billionaries. But this other Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour’s biographical details fit the Sutton profile much better. However the lack of online information on such an august man leave me a little worried. Can Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour be the man? Sutton’s memory seems a little vague and confused, as would be natural for a man of his age. So the identification of Mansour and his connection to Obama might be a little hazy.

[...] I wonder if the readers can shed any additional light on this matter. Knowing someone at the right hand of very rich men is a great thing when you’re looking for entry into law school. Sutton took Mansour’s advice, whoever he was, and wrote Harvard saying there was a “genius” who would soon be available to them. And the rest is nearly history.

Sen. Barack Obama and his newly-picked running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, may have sparred during the primaries. But on one issue they are firmly united: the need to forge closer ties to the government of Iran.

Kaveh Mohseni, a spokesman for the Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran, calls Biden “a great friend of the mullahs.”

He notes that Biden’s election campaigns “have been financed by Islamic charities of the Iranian regime based in California and by the Silicon Iran network,” a loosely-knit group of wealthy Iranian-American businessmen and women seeking to end the U.S. trade embargo on Iran.

“In exchange, the senator does his best to aid the mullahs,” Mohseni argues.

Biden’s ties to pro-Tehran lobbying groups are no secret. But so far, the elite media has avoided even mentioning the subject.

Ad revenue drops 16.2 percent at New York Times Co., sending July revenue down 10.1 percent

NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Times Co. said Tuesday that its July revenue from continuing operations fell 10.1 percent this year as advertising revenue slipped 16.2 percent.

Overall revenue dropped to $235.9 million in July from $262.3 million in July 2007, the publisher said.

The company's flagship The New York Times paper had 15.3 percent lower ad revenue. At its New England media group, which includes The Boston Globe, July ad revenue dropped 24.5 percent.

For the year to date, total revenue from continuing operations has fallen 6.1 percent to $1.73 billion.

The funny thing is Jim picks up his Auchi stuff from me - I heard not a peep. Perhaps the passage of Rachel's Law in New York looked after the little guy, now we have to pass it that legislation nationally: SUPPORT THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH PROTECTION ACT.

Iraqi Billionaire Threatens Reporters Investigating Rezko Affair MND hat tip slim guy

Why aren’t the American media investigating the role of British billionaire businessman Nadhmi Auchi in supplying loans to Barack Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko? Some point to media bias, but there is another factor. Working for Auchi, who was born in Iraq, attorneys from London law firm Carter-Ruck have for several months been flooding American and British newspapers and websites with letters demanding removal of material they deem “defamatory” to their client.

In its June 28 edition, British satirical magazine Private Eye explains: “Until Carter-Ruck and Partners and England’s stifling libel laws got to work, the few American journalists not caught up in Obama-mania were turning to the archives of the British press to answer an intriguing question: who is Nadhmi Auchi?”

What is so “stifling” about English libel law? In the U.K., as Carter-Ruck explains on its own website, “A libel claimant does not have to prove that the words are false or to prove that he has in fact suffered any loss. Damage is presumed.”

The Obama campaign recently issued a non-denial denial in response to claims that Obama met with Auchi―contained in Jerome Corsi’s bestseller, The Obama Nation. They cited only two references.  One is, “Mr. Auchi’s lawyer” who told the February 27, 2008 London Evening Standard, “As far as he can remember he has had no direct contact with Mr. Obama.” Another is, “A lawyer for Auchi, Alasdair Pepper” who says, according to the April 16, 2008 Washington Post, “Auchi Had ‘No Recollection’ Of Meeting Obama or Michelle.” Alasdair Pepper is the attorney whose name appears on the Carter-Ruck demand letters.

The Secret Loan

A secret $3.5 million loan from an Auchi company to key early-money Barack Obama fundraiser Antoin Rezko was exposed while Rezko was awaiting trial on fraud and money-laundering charges earlier this year. Rezko’s bail was revoked and police showed up banging on the doors of his Wilmette Chicago mansion to drag him off to jail early in the morning of January 28th. Auchi’s loan to Rezko had come on May 23, 2005 but had not been disclosed to the Court as required in his bail agreement. Three weeks later, on June 15, 2005, Rezko’s wife assisted the Obamas in the purchase of their South Chicago mansion by purchasing a next-door undeveloped lot being sold with the house.

According to the Times of London, “Mr. Rezko’s lawyer said his client had ‘longstanding indebtedness’ to Mr. Auchi’s General Mediterranean Holding (GMH). By June 2007 he owed it $27.9 million. Under a Loan Forgiveness Agreement described in court, M. Auchi lent Mr. Rezko $3.5 million in April 2005 and $11 million in September 2005, as well as $3.5 million transferred in April 2007. That agreement provided for the outstanding loans to be ‘forgiven’ in return for a stake in the 62-acre Riverside Park development.”

Rezko’s relationship with Barack Obama goes back to at least 1990, when Obama’s law firm did work relating to thousands of now-decaying Rezko apartment units in South Chicago. Rezko was a key early-money fundraiser in Obama’s state Senate campaigns and his failed run at the U.S. Congress.

According to The Times of London, “Mr. Auchi first met Mr. Rezko after the 2003 Iraq war and they have a business relationship.” At the time Auchi was facing the possibility of extradition to France. The Times of London explains: “Mr Auchi was convicted of corruption, given a suspended sentence and fined £1.4 million in France in 2003 for his part in the Elf affair, described as the biggest political and corporate scandal in post-war Europe. He, in a statement from his media lawyers, claims he is appealing against the sentence.”

In 2003, Nick Cohen of the UK Guardian wrote:

Allow me to introduce you to Nadhmi Auchi. He was charged in the 1950s with being an accomplice of Saddam Hussein, when the future tyrant was acquiring his taste for blood. He was investigated in the 1980s for his part in alleged bribes to the fabulously corrupt leaders of post-war Italy. In the 1990s, the Belgium Ambassador to Luxembourg claimed that Auchi’s bank held money Saddam and Colonel Gadaffi had stolen from their luckless peoples. In 2002, officers from the Serious Fraud Squad raided the offices of one of Auchi’s drug companies as part of an investigation of what is alleged to be the biggest swindle ever of the (British National Health Service). With allegations, albeit unproven, like these hanging over him, wouldn’t you think that British MPs would have the sense to stay away?

But after threats from Carter-Ruck, Cohen’s “defamatory” article became one of six Guardian and Observer articles scrubbed from the Internet this April.

Blogger “A Jacksonian” received a similar demand on or before June 24.  His article is still up. It details much of the information contained in the six deleted Guardian/Observer articles.

Action: FOX Uses Pro-Israel Extremist to Attack Islamic Financing

CAIR is calling on American Muslims and all those who value interfaith understanding and religious freedom to contact Fox Business Network to express their concerns about a recent interview with a pro-Israel extremist who sought to demonize Islam and Muslims by demonizing Islamic law, or shariah.

In an interview yesterday on Fox Business, Allyson Rowen Taylor linked shariah financing and shariah to terrorism, beheadings and the 9/11 attacks. She also claimed shariah financing, under which Muslims simply seek to avoid dealing in interest, is a “subtle way of creeping Islam into the American culture.” Rowen Taylor seemingly advocated that Muslims invest in companies selling pornography because it is “instrumental to the economy of the United States.”

Obama’s association with Ayers, who now teaches at the university, has become an issue in the Illinois senator’s presidential campaign. The Weather Underground took credit for several nonfatal bombings on targets that included the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, and critics accuse Obama of rubbing elbows with an unabashed 1960s radical.

Obama has said that, although he knew Ayers as a professor involved in community outreach efforts in Chicago, he doesn’t share Ayers’ extreme views.

The massive collection of newly released documents — 140 boxes full of them — includes agendas that clearly put Obama and Ayers in the same room for meetings of Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an educational initiative that Ayers was instrumental in starting and that Obama chaired in the 1990s.

The initiative was funded by $49.2 million from the Annenberg Foundation with the intention of establishing community partnerships that would improve schools.

The same group that said the birth certificate was genuine. ahem.

FOX News was among several news organizations that reviewed the university’s records by appointment. In one agenda, a March 15, 1995, meeting featured Obama making introductions and Ayers giving a briefing.

But more than a year later, Obama pushed the group to be bolder in its reforms, according to the Associated Press, which also reviewed the documents. Minutes from an October 1996 gathering show that Obama, a guest at a meeting of the collaborative, raised questions about what the group should be doing.

“The fact that Obama and Ayers were working together stems from the pretty sharp left-leaning ideology that both of them shared to some extent,” Kurtz said.

Ayers did not respond to an e-mail requesting comment.

 

Obama has publicly admitted, in his own campaign ad, that he knows Ayers. Despite this, Obama is strong arming the news and cable network s threatening lawsuits and continued harassment if they run this ad. FOX has caved and will not run this ad. Today theAyers/ Obama the files of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge  (housed in the UIC library) that had been suspended  in lock down were released and according to FOX news the  DOCUMENTS LINK BARACK OBAMA TO 1960'S TERRORIST AYERS.

There are reportedly over 6,000 documents that should be were released (and sanitized in some way I am sure) but still incriminating,

Carolyn wrote me, "for months, the blogs have published the truth about Obama's association with this terrorist but what good has it done?  The media has refused to print it.  Instead, we've had to seethe in silence watching Ayers sneer that he wishes he could have set off more bombs, watch him stomp on the American flag right in front of us, seethe knowing that this bastard is right next to the man running for President of the United States but the vast public doesn't even know it.  They don't know about Ayers because the media refuses to tell them. 

But now Obama's told them.

Dumb, dumber, dumbest.  Strange thing about 'code' of the media (like honor amongst thieves).  If the liar publicly admits he's lying - the media has to stop lying itself.  And in that ad on Ayers, that's exactly what Obama did.  For one brief moment, he stopped lying. 

Oh, the ad's vanished now.  But it doesn't matter.  Once is all it takes.  This will surprise you but that mythical ad of Lyndon Johnson's, the one with that little girl pulling petals off the daisy?  It only aired once.  So did Apple's awesome '1984' video for Macintosh during the Superbowl.  Just once.  But once is all it takes."

And in one ad, Obama finally admitted he's in bed with a terrorist.  So the media will no longer be able to ignore that elephant in the living room. And what a big elephant it is. Read on truth seekers.

Obama Needs to Explain His Ties to William Ayers By Michael Barone

It doesn't help the Obama campaign that William Ayers is back in the news. Ayers, you'll recall, was the Weather Underground terrorist in the late 1960s and '70s whose radical group set bombs at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol. During the April 16 Democratic debate, Barack Obama explained his past association with Ayers by saying he was just a guy "in my neighborhood," meaning the University of Chicago enclave known as Hyde Park. But is that end of it? This is, after all, Chicago we're talking about; where political patronage and nepotism are the only ways one moves up the power ladder.

Decades after his radical youth, Ayers was one of the original grantees of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school reform organization in the 1990s, and was co-chairman of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, one the two operational arms of the CAC. Obama, then not yet a state senator, became chairman of the CAC in 1995. Later in that year, the first organizing meeting for Obama's state Senate campaign was held in Ayers's apartment.

You might wonder what Obama was doing working with a character like this. And you might wonder how an unrepentant terrorist got a huge grant and cooperation from the Chicago public school system. You might wonder--if you don't know Chicago. For this is a city with a civic culture in which politicians, in the words of a story often told by former congressman, federal judge, and Clinton White House counsel Abner Mikva, "don't want nobody nobody sent."

That's how William Ayers got where he was. When he came out of hiding after the federal government was unable to prosecute him (because of government misconduct), he got a degree in education from Columbia and then moved to Chicago and got a job on the education faculty of the University of Illinois-Chicago Circle. How did he get that job? Well, it can't have hurt that his father, Thomas Ayers, was chairman of Commonwealth Edison (now Exelon) and a charter member of the Chicago establishment. As Mayor Richard M. Daley said recently, in arguing that the Ayers association should not be held against Obama, "His father was a great friend of my father."

Which leads us back to Barack Obama, who is now a U.S. senator and will shortly become the Democratic nominee for an office that even Chicago regards as more important than mayor. And the question presents itself: How did this outsider from Hawaii and Columbia and Harvard become somebody somebody sent? His wife, Michelle Robinson Obama, had some connections: Her father was a Democratic precinct committeeman; she baby-sat for Jesse Jackson's children; and she worked as a staffer for the current Mayor Daley. Obama made connections on the all-black South Side by joining the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church. But was Obama's critical connection to le tout Chicago William Ayers? That's the conclusion you are led to by Steve Diamond's blog. . And by the fact that the National Review's Stanley Kurtz was suddenly denied access to the records of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge by the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois-Chicago Circle. (Kurtz had already been given an index to the records.) Presumably the CAC records would show a closer collaboration between Ayers and Obama than was suggested by Obama's response at the debate that Ayers was just a guy "in the neighborhood."

The  increasingly sharp McCain campaign had the wit to ask the University of Illinois to open up the CAC records. But it didn't seem likely the university will open them up; as John Kass puts it in a characteristically pungent column in the Chicago Tribune, "Welcome to Chicago, Mr. Kurtz." Now the University says the archives are open. But Kurt's friends wonder if they have been flushed of inconvenient documents in the meantime.

For Obama, the outsider who gained the trust of the insiders, the position is different. He was willing to use Ayers and ally with him despite his terrorist past and lack of repentance. An unrepentant terrorist, who bragged of bombing the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon, was a fit associate. Ayers evidently helped Obama gain insider status in Chicago civic life and politics--how much, we can't be sure. But most American politicians would not have chosen to associate with a man with Ayers's past or of Ayers's beliefs. It's something voters might reasonably want to take into account.

Today, Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn, 59, who is director of the Legal Clinic's Children and Family Justice Center of Northwestern University, seem like typical baby boomers, caring for aging parents, suffering the empty-nest syndrome.

Their son, Malik, 21, is at the University of California, San Diego; Zayd, 24, teaches at Boston University.

GIRL SUICIDE BOMBER GIVES HERSELF UP Telegraph (hat tip aug)

IRAQI police today paraded a girl of 15 caught wearing an explosives vest, saying she planned to follow her father and stage a suicide bombing.

They later arrested her mother and a sister, as it was revealed the number of women carrying out suicide attacks has more than tripled this year.

Her arrest on Sunday heightened concern about a rise in suicide bombings by women in Iraq.

The number of female bombers has more than tripled this year, from eight in 2007 to 29 this year, according to U.S. military officials.

The girl gave her first name as Rania and said she was born in 1993.

Her exchange with the police offered a rare glimpse at a teenager allegedly recruited by insurgents.  (VIDEO HERE)

OBAMA LIED: "Palestinian" Campaign Contributions NEVER RETURNED OR REFUNDED

On July 31, Atlas broke the explosive bombshell that Obama was receiving big foreign donations andin particular,  from the Hamas controlled Rafah refugee camps in  Gaza. Jihad money to the tune of 33,000.

Despite big media's reluctance to publish anything negative about Obama no matter how important and damning, a couple of  publications and talk radio hosts picked up on the story-- and Obama responded. Obama and co. claimed the money was returned. Chalk this up to another Obama lie - the money was never returned. Cathy has been combing through the latest filing and reviewing all past documents.

Nothing. Gotz. Nada. 

According to Glenn  Simpson of the Washington Wire in the Wall Street Journal back on August 5th:

$33,000 in illegal donations to the campaign via the internet.

The brothers sought to buy “Obama for President” T-shirts in some 97 attempts, 32 of which were initially successful.

They wrongly identified themselves as American citizens, campaign officials said, and listed their address as “GA”, the abbreviation for Georgia, when in fact they live in a refugee camp in Gaza, a rump city-state between Israel and Egypt that is under the control of Hamas.

Strangely, the tee shirts found their way to Gaza. So was it Georgia or Gaza. C'mon fellas we're not stupid.

The donations came in between Sept. 20 and Dec. 6 and virtually all of the money, about $33,500, was returned by December 6. But the refunds weren’t reported to the Federal Election Commission due to a technical error, campaign officials said.

The remaining $2,500 was refunded Monday. The refunds will all be reflected shortly in an amended report. New controls to prevent such attempts are now in place, the campaign said.

There is no refund made to the Gaza donors Adwan, Osama and Edwan .......... and when Simpson of the Wall Street Journal was asked if he would be following up on the Gaza story - he said, no. There is no governance, there is no rule of law -- it's chaos.

30-year friend of VP pick guilty in kickback scheme

DENVER -- No matter what help Barack Obama might get from Sen. Joseph Biden, his newly named vice presidential running mate won't give Obama much cover on the Tony Rezko front.

Biden has described himself as a 30-year friend of a key figure in the Rezko trial who's pleaded guilty to a federal extortion charge in Chicago and is awaiting sentencing.

When the Delaware senator began contemplating his own 2008 presidential run, he initially was helped by Chicago lawyer Joseph Cari Jr., who also served as Biden's Midwest field director in his failed 1988 bid for president.

In 2005, Cari admitted to taking part in an $850,000 kickback scheme that prosecutors say was part of a larger political fund-raising operation for Gov. Blagojevich overseen by Rezko, who was convicted in June of wide-ranging corruption involving state deals.

On the day Cari's name first surfaced in the federal probe of the state Teachers Retirement System, the former finance chairman for the Democratic National Committee and for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was to have hosted a Biden fund-raiser in Chicago. Cari was a no-show at that July 25, 2005, event.

Offering Cari a vote of confidence at the time, Biden said, "All I know is Joe Cari is a friend, and he's an honorable guy, but I don't know anything beyond that."

THE BIG STORY: 60% OF AMERICANS CONSERVATIVE

In today's American Thinker, Bruce Walker  publishes the The Biggest Missing Story. Indeed. It seems, in a bipartisan poll, conducted year in and year out, 60%  of Americans describe themselves as conservative. I, for one, am not surprised. What does surprise me is how we, the people,  are ignored by the Republican leaders (once elected) and a morally ill media.

.......... go straight to Question D3, which very quietly and totally ignored proclaims the biggest missing story in American politics and which is the only story, in the long run, that really matters.

I have been tracking Question D3 for a long time, since June 2002, in thirteen straight Battleground Poll results. Americans respond to this question more consistently than to any other question in those thirteen Battleground Poll surveys.  People many change their opinions dramatically about Iraq or President Bush or drilling for oil, but not their answer to Question D3. 

The Battleground Poll is different.  It is bipartisan.  A Republican polling organization, the Terrance Group, and a Democrat polling organization, Lake Research Partners, collaborate in picking the questions, selecting the sample population, conducting the surveys, and analyzing the results.  The Battleground Poll website, along with the raw data, is "Republican Strategic Analysis" and "Democratic Strategic Analysis."  There are few polls that are bipartisan.  No other polling organization asks the same questions year after year, none that reveal the internals of their poll results so completely, and none ask anything like Question D3 in every survey.  What is Question D3 and what were the results to Question D3 in the August 20, 2008 Battleground Poll?  It is this:

Very conservative

Somewhat conservative

MODERATE

Somewhat liberal

Very liberal

UNSURE/REFUSED"

In August 2008, Americans answered that question this way:  (1) 20% of Americans considered themselves to be very conservative; (2) 40% of Americans considered themselves to be somewhat conservative; (3) 2% of Americans considered themselves to be moderate; (4) 27% of Americans considered themselves to be somewhat liberal; (5) 9% of Americans considered themselves to be very liberal; and (6) 3% of Americans did not know or refused to answer.

Sixty percent of Americans considered themselves conservative.  [...]

This is a huge political story - except that it is not "new" at all.   Look at the thirteen Battleground Poll results over the last six years,  and how do Americans answer that very question? Here are the percentages of Americans in those polls who call themselves "conservative" since June 2002:  59% (June 2002 poll), 59% (September 2003 poll), 61% (April 2004 poll), 59% (June 2004 poll), 60% (September 2004 poll), 61% (October 2005 poll), 59% (March 2006), 61% (October 2006), 59% (January 2007), 63% (July 2007), 58% (December 2007), 63% (May 2008), and now 60% (August 2008.)

The percentage of Americans who define themselves as "somewhat liberal" or "very liberal" has always been puny.  In thirteen straight polls, this percentage has never been higher than 38% (June 2004) and it has usually been much lower.  The gap between self-defined conservatives and self-defined liberals has been as high as thirty percentage points and as low as twenty-one percentage points.  What does that translate into in electoral politics?  If conservative presidential candidates simply got all the conservative votes - if virtually all moderate voters, uncommitted voters, and liberal voters went for the liberal candidate - then the conservative candidates would win a landslide bigger than Ronald Reagan in 1988.  Have you ever wondered why liberals like Obama never call themselves liberals?  Maybe their advisers have read the Battleground Poll internals.

The banner behind the speakers at the Recreate 68 End the Occupation event. Cindy Sheehan, Ward Churchill, Cynthia McKinney, and other sordid characters spoke in front of this banner on Sunday morning before the march left the Capital for the Pepsi Center at noon.

When Recreate 68 whined because they didn’t get the park they wanted in the permit lottery process, the Colorado State government let them use the front of the State Capital for their event. This 5′ x 8′ sign was put on the right column of the central front door of the  State Capital  building.  It depicts the angel of death with stars and stripes and an official portrait of Sadaam as a gentleman about to become a victim of America.

The Brotherhood document from which this quote is taken concludes with “a list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” Among these organizations is the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Ingrid Mattson is the President of the Islamic Society of North America. ISNA was also named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case.

Mattson herself has made a series of highly questionable remarks.

Among those in attendance were Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and Gov. Bill Ritter, who welcomed the congregation to the first official event of the DNC.

"There is a tremendous intersection of faith and politics," Ritter said. "Politics at its deepest root is moral." [...]

Speakers included Rabbi Steven Foster, of Congregation Emmanuel in Denver; Bishop Charles Blake, of the Church of God in Christ; and Dr. Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America. [...]

[Blake] received one of several standing ovations.

Another was reserved for Mattson, who said she tells Islamic leaders abroad that Muslims in the United States still face discrimination constantly.

Despite the difficulties, Mattson said she remains convinced that the United States "is still the best place in the world to practice our faith."

Muslims in the United States still face discrimination constantly? Muslims in the United States enjoy more rights than they enjoy in many majority-Muslim countries. And CAIR's attempts to document "hate crimes" against Muslims in the U.S. have been shown to be tissues of fabrications.

But in making this wild claim before the Democratic Convention, Mattson is laying claim to Protected Victim Status for Muslims, which would place them beyond the scrutiny and criticism that is necessary today to head off the Brotherhood's "grand jihad."

CONDI GO HOME, TAKE OLMERDE - 200 TERRORISTS RELEASED TO CELEBRATE CONDI'S ARRIVAL

Olmert continues to commit acts of perfidy in his illegal occupation of the office of Prime Minister in Israel. Today he released close to 200  Jew killers into the general population to commit murder and mayhem. This in the name of the piss process. Snapped Shot has the media's ass kissing coverage of the release of the killers "kissing their mothers" - cheerleading the terrorists. No mention of the bereaved families of the victims.

According to an informal estimate by Israeli security bodies, about 50 percent of the terrorists freed for any reason whatsoever returned to the path of terror, either as a perpetrator, a planner, or as an accomplice. In the terror acts committed by these freed terrorists, hundreds of Israelis were murdered, and thousands were wounded.(more here)

Clearly, the release of Jew killers was timed to coincide with the arrival of the Grand Dhimmi and hatchet man for Islamic jihad, Condi Rice. Ghastly. This is her ninth visit in seven months. Exhausting. Why, in heaven's name isn't she pursuing the removal of Iran's nukes  or the NORK's nukes or a Russian pushback with such vigor and enthusiasm. You draw your own conclusion.

ISRAEL RELEASES 198 "PALESTINIAN" PRISONERS Telegraph hat tip van

Israel releases 198 Palestinian prisoners in effort to boost peace process Israel has freed almost 200 jailed Palestinians — including a militant mastermind from the 1970s who became the state's longest serving Palestinian prisoner — in a goodwill gesture just hours before US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visits the region.

The prisoners arrived in Ramallah after being released by prison guards at an Israeli military checkpoint near Jerusalem. The prisoners, some waving black-and-white checkered keffiyeh headdresses as they stepped off Israeli buses, kissed the ground before boarding Palestinian vehicles.

Israel said the release was designed to bolster President Mahmoud Abbas and his western-leaning administration and give a boost to the slow-moving peace talks with the moderate Palestinian leader.

Government spokesman Mark Regev said: "It's not easy for Israel to release prisoners. Some of the individuals being released today are guilty of direct involvement in the murder of innocent civilians.

"But we understand the importance of the prisoner issue for Palestinian society...We believe this action can support the negotiation process and create goodwill."

DENVER - A black delegate for Hillary Rodham Clinton says she was called an "Uncle Tom" by Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, one of Barack Obama's political mentors.

Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb says Jones made the remarks Saturday night while discussing her support for Clinton. She called the remark "fighting words" and unacceptable.

Hezbollah Flags And Slogans Taunt Israelis During Scrimmage Football Match in Finland.

A friendly football match between Israel and Finland took place a couple of days ago in the Finnish city of Tampere, at least on the field it was all sports, but not in the stands.

Israel's ambassador to Finland, Avi Granot, (whose parents were saved by ending up on Oscar Schindler's list) was witness to the spectacle, as Arab supporters of Hezbollah watching the football match, took to waving flags of the Lebanese terrorist organization, as well as unrolling banners in Arabic that can be pretty much guaranteed to be as volatile and acerbic as the anti-Israel slogans being shouted.

According to the wood version of the Finnish tabloid paper, Ilta-Sanomat, the sponsors of the event confiscated all the anti-Israel material being waved around by the supporters of terrorism, and removed the pro-Hez squad from the stands. According to the article, Kimmo Lipponen, the Finnish Football secretary, said that all political demonstrations at matches are expressly forbidden.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Far Leftist Finnish MP, Paavo Arhinmäki (Vasemmisto= The Left) was also in the stands watching the match and didn't find anything out of place with the banners, Hez flags and anti-Israel slogans being bantered about by the supporters of terrorist group. NO, quite the contrary, he found them to be appropriate:

Paavo Arhinmäki: "A gang (edit: good term) was shouting something about Palestine but I didn't see anything in it that that was inappropriate. Arhinmäki stated. [...] I didn't shout anything myself during the match,´that nothing could be said of it. I'm very careful about that."

New details about a black poet in Hawaii who was a key early influence in Barack Obama’s life can be revealed by The Telegraph.

In a surviving portion of an autobiographical manuscript, Mr Davis confirms that he was the author of Sex Rebel: Black after a reader had noticed the “similarities in style and phraseology” between the pornographic work and his poetry.

“I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine.” In the introduction to Sex Rebel, Mr Davis (writing as Greene) explains that although he has “changed names and identities…all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences”.

He stated that “under certain circumstances I am bisexual” and that he was “ a voyeur and an exhibitionist” who was “occasionally mildly interested in sado-masochism”, adding: “I have often wished I had two penises to enjoy simultaneously the double – but different – sensations of oral and genital copulation.”

The book, which closely tracks Mr Davis’s life in Chicago and Hawaii and the fact that his first wife was black and his second white, describes in lurid detail a series of shockingly sordid sexual encounters, often involving group sex.

One chapter concerns the seduction by Mr Davis and his first wife of a 13-year-old girl called Anne. Mr Davis wrote that it was the girl who had suggested he had sex with her. “I’m not one to go in for Lolitas. Usually I’d rather not bed a babe under 20.

“But there are exceptions. I didn’t want to disappoint the trusting child. At her still-impressionistic age, a rejection might be traumatic, could even cripple her sexually for life.”

He then described how he and his wife would have sex with the girl. “Anne came up many times the next several weeks, her aunt thinking she was in good hands. Actually she was.

“She obtained a course in practical sex from experienced and considerate practitioners rather than from ignorant insensitive neophytes….I think we did her a favour, although the pleasure was mutual.”

Court to consider divorce for 8-year-old girl

A court in Saudi Arabia is reported to be preparing to hear a plea for divorce from an eight-year-old girl who has been married off to a man in his 50s.

The Saudi newspaper al-Watan said the girl had been married off to the man by her father without her knowledge.

The child's mother is thought to be pushing for the marriage to be annulled - though the father opposes the move.

In April, a court in neighbouring Yemen annulled the arranged marriage of another eight-year-old girl.

She had been married to a 28-year-old man.

Child-protection groups say children are often given away in return for hefty dowries, or as a result of old customs in which a father promises his infant daughters and sons to cousins out of a belief that marriage will protect them from illicit relationships.

Activists have called for an end to the practice.

This will bury Obama, if the story makes the light of day. Thomas Lifson writes:

Clarice Feldman lays out the reasons why the William Ayers/Annenberg Challenge story will seriously damage the candidacy of The One. A sample:

 

...the story was that Ayers was an old professor in Mr. Obama’s neighborhood who just happened to host a fundraiser for him in 1995 which launched his political career.

Some mush was thrown in along the way about having served with him on a charity board, but Obama did not correctly describe the charity or the dates or the extent of their association on it.

The truth is that the two men worked closely together for years, beginning several months before that 1995 fundraiser. The fund Obama chaired and which was supposed to improve public education in Chicago never met its stated purpose of improving public school pupils’ performance and, in fact, probably hindered it, despite having blown through $110 million in the process. And as chairman of this group Obama funneled this money to politically useful types including Fidelistas and Maoists who like Ayers (now vice-president elect of the American Education Research Association) are working to make our public schools indoctrination centers for the left .

Once the public learns more of the CAC, will the voters decide that the manner in which Obama exercised his sole opportunity at executive authority was so good that he deserves the keys to the Oval Office?
