This year, America doesn't deserve to celebrate its birthday. This Fourth of July should be a day of quiet and atonement.
For we have sinned.
Satullo, Philadelphia Inquirer columnist, wrote a particularly disgusting left wing diatribe against America, American values, and love for America under a guise of condescending moral inversion.
He pulled every America hating canard out of his ass to beat us with his wet noodle and attempt to shame us into not celebrating our national birthday for defending our great country and our way of life. What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is yet another execrable example of how the left destroys this country and attempts to chip, chip, chip away at our very soul.
Chris Satullo: A not-so-glorious Fourth The Philadelphia Enquirer
What this leftard just does not get as he sits up there in his smelly, cushy chair (in, ironically enough, Philadelphia of all places) belching out these admonishments and insults, is he can sit up there spewing his bile because he is free, because he is not living under sharia, because of our troops, because we are not afraid to fight, and because of men and women like Mark Steyn and Rachel Ehrenfeld who are taking the heat to keep freedom of speech free. This big pussy calls us "cowards", calls us "petrified". And he can because he knows we won't come down there and slice his head off like Danny Pearl. We fight the bad guys. But poor Satullo cannot distinguish between good and evil or right and wrong. He is mourning the days of Saddam's rape rooms and torture chambers and is instead lamenting the duck a'la orange at Club Gitmo.
But what will history think of us, of how we responded to our great challenge? Sept. 11 was a hideous evil, a grievous wound.
IT WAS A DECLARATION OF WAR, A VIOLENT AND EGREGIOUS ACT OF WAR..... Does this big pussy think you could talk the barbaric jihad out of their goal of a worldwide caliphate with his fluffy feelings?
We have betrayed the July 4 creed. We trample the vows we make, hand to heart.
Don't imagine that only the torturer's hand bears the guilt. The guilt reaches deep inside our Capitol, and beyond that - to us.
Our silence is complicit. In our name, innocents were jailed, humans tortured, our Constitution mangled. And we said so little.
What planet is this pussy on?
We can't claim not to have known. The best among us raised the alarm. Heroes in uniform, judges in robes, they opposed the perverse logic of an administration drenched in fear, drunk on power.
But did we heed them? Hardly. Barely . . .
We were so busy. Soccer practice at 6. A credit card balance to fret. The final vote on Idol.
No, no no -- we were busy fighting the scourge at home. Namely, America haters like you.
We left it to those in power to keep our precious selves from harm. Whatever it took.
We took the coward's way.
You would know, pal. Here's another weak man who would have us imitate the European model. Our forefathers ran from Europe and risked life, limb, family, wealth to create the greatest experiment in human history, The United States of America. Still.
There is nothing to emulate in Europe. Nothing, not in the last war and not in this one. And men like Satullo don't belong here. They don't get it -- but there is plenty of room in the mosque in Londonistan - go.
This guy is like all the other clinically depressed libtards, innately and almost always unhappy and eager to share their special brand of poison. He cries crocodile tears for savages like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Zubaydah , Abdul Rahim al-Nashiri, Saddam Hussein, Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah, Mashaal while demonizing the finest nation, the finest people on G-d's green earth. And he is a columnist, he gets to write a column every week in the Philadelphia Inquirer, home of the Liberty Bell. If Happy Satullo gets his way, the only bell you'll hear is the Muslim call to prayer in the morning.
What a dope.

Satullo's an idiot who wouldn't recognize the truth if it crawled up his ass and lit a fire.

Amen to that. I tend to tear his page out of the paper and wipe with it. It seems to work just fine.

This guy has company over at The Progressive. Check out the latest drivel from Matthew Rothschild, if you can stomach it. They must have been at the same lib pity party...

Well we as Americans have allowed these people to thrive, we buy their papers books and mags without thinking. I've turned off most news sorces, whom reflect America in a bad light. We Americans are responsible for our right and future as Americans!

Well, as for us we are going to a D-Backs game and sitting right behind home plate and having an expensive dinner with another couple. We'll stand and proudly place our hands over our hearts during the National Anthem and I'll try not to tear up. They plan on having a tribute to the troops and we plan on standing and giving a standing ovation (again) as the crowd does everytime the troops are honored. This asshat and libs in general don't understand that some of us really love this country
Pam Gd bless you and your family and Gd bless our Country.

Did you read the news about that Chinese Muslims we've detained in Gitmo for over six years, and when the evidence was finally shown to a court it was so flimsy that one of the most conservative federal judges in the country laughed it off? And we know that that's probably the case for most of the people in there.
We've kept innocent people in a holding cell for almost ten years without any due process, and tortured many of them. Is that not something for us to be ashamed of? To at least question whether we're living up to the ideals we celebrate on the Fourth?

Pamela,
Is that Craven Columnist or Communist?

Cheap..I agree with you. There should never have been a Gitmo, just as there should never have been a Saddam trial.A grenade down the hole would have ended and wiped out all further speculation of Saddam's guilt or, as some worthless morons might say, innocence. And we should think twice about taking prisoners.Especially since those prisoners have no redeming value. Release them and they are back out there murdering our troops.
Satullo is one of those parasites that arrived to the position of where he is, on the boot of an American Soldier.A free ride for which he is not even grateful.
And you can be sure of one thing...had it been dependant upon people of his ilk, there would be no fourth of July because we would still be OVER YOUNDER kissing the Queen's arse.

Satullo can't help being miserable, it's in his nature:

It's very sad that all of you appear to have missed the point of Satullo's editorial. Shame on you.

Was your head tilting to the left while you wrote that?

Let's talk about a REAL insult to the 4th of July and American Independence . . .
Compare it! In Colombia, for the freed Colombian hostages, their relatives and the press, it was free and easy, anything goes, as they came off the plane back to their people, with every unfettered opportunity to express their joy, gratitude and relief.
But here? What we got going on here? Where is freedom? Where is joy? Where are the freed U.S. hostages? They are still being kept hostage by their own government because they can not be trusted with their liberty and in their citizenship as free Americans to be free citizens.
This contrast should shame every proper, liberty-loving American to death! Had I been among those men, after all those years of captivity, would I not have had my fist up in their bureaucratic faces, daring any tight-tushed, protocol tangled official to just go ahead and try to stand between me and my country, my people, my wife and my right to come forward to the press and express my joy, no different than Ingrid Betancourt?
I would certainly hope that my patriotism should be at least that strong, to have been able to say, "Get out of my way, or else. I'm going home to shout and cry and dance and shoot off some rockets for the 4th and July--just you try and stop me! Or in short, take your concerns about security and stick them straight up your tight fascist Unamerican brassholes where the Dawn's Early Light don't shine."

"The spread of EVIL is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever EVIL wins, it is only by DEFAULT: by the MORAL FAILURE of those who EVADE THE FACT that there can be NO COMPROMISE on BASIC PRINCIPLES."
"People are MORALLY REQUIRED to DEFEND THEMSELVES against those who initiate PHYSICAL FORCE; NOT to RETALIATE is to REWARD EVIL. To retaliate in an organized and objective fashion, upholding and enforcing rules, it is necessary to have a government that organizes security forces" - Ayn Rand.
PG: you are balls-on, 100% correct in your judgement of Satullo: these people don't have a clue, and won't even be close to any appreciable awareness, until the executioner's knife is at their throats.
God bless you, enjoy your July 4th!
