THE NEW YORK TIMES SAYS IT:
PRESIDENT APOSTATE
"The Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset”
Barack Hussein Obama to Nicholas Kristof NY Times
In an extraordinary moment of candor, The New York Times has finally admitted to what I posted over a year ago, Obama's apostasy and the danger Obama's apostasy may present from the Muslim world. And check out Obama, the Muslim Thing and why it Matters Israel National News (December 2007). Up until today the New York Times has completed and deliberately ignored this ominous Obama complication. Worse, the left smeared anyone who spoke of his Muslim background as a race baiter islamophobe.
The Times article is a puff piece but you can read between the lines. The Times is saying Obama was a Muslim something he has categorically denied. By the literal word of the Koran, Obama is a Muslim. In fact Obama was "quite religious in Islam" (no amount of scrubbing is going to change the facts.)
PRESIDENT APOSTATE Edward Luttwak hat tip lovely Larwyn
But it is a mistake to conflate his African identity with his Muslim heritage. Senator Obama is half African by birth and Africans can understandably identify with him. In Islam, however, there is no such thing as a half-Muslim. Like all monotheistic religions, Islam is an exclusive faith.
As the son of the Muslim father, Senator Obama was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood. It makes no difference that, as Senator Obama has written, his father said he renounced his religion. Likewise, under Muslim law based on the Koran his mother’s Christian background is irrelevant.
Why doesn't Obama use his "apostasy" to educate the American people? Apostates like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Nonie Darwish, Wafa Sultan speak out, why wouldn't Obama. I don't think he has left Isalm.
Of course, as most Americans understand it, Senator Obama is not a Muslim. He chose to become a Christian, and indeed has written convincingly to explain how he arrived at his choice and how important his Christian faith is to him.
His conversion, however, was a crime in Muslim eyes; it is “irtidad” or “ridda,” usually translated from the Arabic as “apostasy,” but with connotations of rebellion and treason. Indeed, it is the worst of all crimes that a Muslim can commit, worse than murder (which the victim’s family may choose to forgive).
With few exceptions, the jurists of all Sunni and Shiite schools prescribe execution for all adults who leave the faith not under duress; the recommended punishment is beheading at the hands of a cleric, although in recent years there have been both stonings and hangings. (Some may point to cases in which lesser punishments were ordered — as with some Egyptian intellectuals who have been punished for writings that were construed as apostasy — but those were really instances of supposed heresy, not explicitly declared apostasy as in Senator Obama’s case.)
It is true that the criminal codes in most Muslim countries do not mandate execution for apostasy (although a law doing exactly that is pending before Iran’s Parliament and in two Malaysian states). But as a practical matter, in very few Islamic countries do the governments have sufficient authority to resist demands for the punishment of apostates at the hands of religious authorities.
What bullshit. Islamic countries kill apostates. FACT.
He goes on to opine,
That an Obama presidency would cause such complications in our dealings with the Islamic world is not likely to be a major factor with American voters, and the implication is not that it should be. But of all the well-meaning desires projected on Senator Obama, the hope that he would decisively improve relations with the world’s Muslims is the least realistic.
Well which it is? Would an apostate alienate the Arab/Muslim world or is he perceived to be a Muslim because of his birthright?
At one time the Obama's fire breathing, American hating pastor admitted concerns over candidate's ties to
Islam - more here.
The head of a pro-Israel ministry is praising the pastor of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's church for admitting his concerns about the Illinois senator's association with the Palestinians and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
Jeremiah Wright, Jr., is pastor of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, where as a 26-year-old, Barack Obama walked down the aisle and publicly committed himself to God. But in two separate interviews, Pastor Wright has revealed his concerns about Obama's pro-Islamic leanings. Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, is saluting Wright for expressing his concerns.
"He warned the senator that association [with the Palestinians] could pose political problems partly because of his history of supporting Palestinian causes," notes Markell. "Barack Obama has made the statement that the Palestinians are the most oppressed people on earth." (More here, March 2007)

and then there are those 57 states of the OIC.............

There is only one reason the NY Slimes brought this out. And that is, in hopes to inoculate Obama for what is sure to come in the fall.Same reason Rev.Wright came out in full bloom before the press club and the NAACP dinner. All planned to try and get it out of the way. And chances are great that the majority of the voters will never ever hear about it. AND I to, love this country more than I detest McCain. McCain has turned into a powder puff, afraid to embrace Bolton.HE SUCKS. but he is all we have.

Spencer has a better grasp on these things:
The New York Times notices the Islamic death penalty for apostasy, wonders if Obama will incur it
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/020987.php
Luttwak misses one possibility, which I explained here last year: as far as I know Obama has never explained when exactly he left Islam. This is a crucial point, for according to Islamic law an apostate male is not to be put to death if he has not reached puberty (cf. 'Umdat al-Salik o8.2; Hidayah vol. II p. 246). Some, however, hold that he should be imprisoned until he is of age and then "invited" to accept Islam, but officially the death penalty for youthful apostates is ruled out.
What matters is this: although the Bommah calls himself a Christian, the black racist supremacy 'church' run by the ex-muslim Wright is anything but Christian. Wright himself is in cahoots with Farraklan and the Bommah is using NOI-thugs as body-guards. Wright, in his sermons sounds more like a hate-spewing imam than a Christian preacher. The whole concept of 'black liberation' is seditious and offensive, it is a hateful ideology which identifies with islam rather than with anything we hold dear.
The Muslims who support him know very well that the Bummah is not an apostate, but one of them.
Remember: Muhammad said "War is Deception"- and they are at war with us...
