MEDIA: There is a new (maybe not so new but I am just seeing it) kid on the block in the continuing tsunami of media bias by the relentless, feckless leftist elite. LINK TV is just the latest scurrilous and incessantly dishonest "news" broadcast, essentially a gorgeously packaged, well funded Orwellian propaganda machine.
Patti brought this new media outrage to my attention. Much thanks to her for pulling the vid clips (with the help of the inestimable Eretz) and giving us the back story.
Patti introduces our first installment:
Been wondering what The Annenberg Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Wallace Global Fund, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Shei'rah Foundation, Open Society Institute (the notorious George Soros), John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Otto Haas Charitable Trust, and Park Foundation are doing with their dough these days? Hint: it has nothing to do with health care, global warmng, poverty, or making sure American kids know how to add, subtract or divide. Answer: Funding LINK Media a 501 (c)(3) which broadcasts LINK TV to 29 million American homes via dish satellite.
LINK offers up seven "original series." Mosaic News, their daily compilation of television news from the Middle East from both state controlled broadcasts and "private networks often affiliated with political factions," is patently dishonest and dangerous. They must be exposed.
Think of it like this: thanks to the largesse of the above foundations, 29 million homes in the US are now drinking the Kool-Aid served daily to 280 million people including 21 Arab countries all over the Middle East.
Not to mention the 56 muslim countries some of whom hate Israel and Jews as much as the Arab countries.
What better way to understand the ins and outs of the US Zionist Conspiracy, that suicide bombers are activists, and Israel is, in fact, Satan?
Today let's visit the Arab summit:
Syrian Satellite TV would like you to know that The Arab summit in Damascus was a smashing success. Arab morale was raised. Accommodations were fab. So much gushing, so little time for facts. You might not have a clue hardly anyone showed or even that Moammar Gadhafi had a hissy fit. So here's another take:
"Arab summit failures have many asking, Why hold them?" International Herald Tribune.
"The leaders of regional powerhouses and U.S. allies Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan boycotted — out of anger at Syria — and Lebanon didn't send a single official. In all, 10 of the Arab League's 22 heads of state stayed away, most for various personal disputes, troubles at home or because they just couldn't be bothered. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi — who's flamboyant style and off-the-cuff remarks routinely provide the summits' only entertainment — both shocked and amused the delegations Saturday when he mocked his fellow Arab leaders for their disunity and inaction Addressing the summit, he warned that Arab countries will be "marginalized and turn into garbage dumps" if they do not reorganize themselves. He ridiculed the idea Arabs could cooperate on a joint nuclear program, a proposal repeatedly approved by the summit since 2006. "How can we do that? We hate each other," Gadhafi said. "Our intelligence services conspire against each other.
Mohamed Abdel Salam, of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo, said expectations from Arab summits have become so low that the challenge is to emerge intact from one meeting to the next."
"Al-Manar programming has been broadcast to North America via San Francisco-based Link TV's program Mosaic, funding for which has come from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Otto Haas Charitable Trust, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. This made Al-Manar available on the pay satellite systems DISH Network and DirecTV, where it could be viewed by Arabic speakers throughout the United States. Link TV ceased airing Al-Manar footage after the U.S. State Department placed the latter on its official Terrorist Exclusion List in December 2004."
I am hoping to bring this LINK tripe to Atlas readers on an ongoing basis - with Patti's help, of course. Thanks Patti.nAnd check out the other broadcast links Eretz diligently loaded at the new YouTube channel, LinkTV Warch
