Here are few more Qur’anic verses which unambiguously declare the supremacy of Sharia.

Allah will decide by His law (judgment, Sharia) between various sects (between the Jews and the Christians—ibn Abbas)…27:78

Allah is the Law-giver; He has appointed Muhammad to implement the only correct laws (Sharia laws)…45:18

Allah created the heavens and the earth to implement justice to all (Sharia law)…45:22

Muhammad is to strike hard against the unbelievers (fight them with weapons and armaments—ibn Kathir. Fight them with swords—Jalalyn), hypocrites (punish them according to Sharia laws—ibn Kathir) and to be firm (harsh) against them; the abode for the unbelievers and the hypocrites is hell...66:9

The absolute supremacy of Sharia is upheld in the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam (1990). Article 22 of this declaration concludes that all rights and freedoms mentioned are subject to the Islamic Sharia, which is the declaration's sole source.

Strangely, Sharia gets furher boost when the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Willams submits to dhimmitude by espousing that certain provisions of Sharia are inevitable in the United Kingdom .

Amazingly, even President Bush submits to Sharia when he initiates dialogue with OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) and to follow up, sends his special envoy Mr. Sada Cumber (March 5, 2008) to meet the OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.

Thus, due the apathy of the civilized world, it is apparent that Sharia is slowly but steadily building up momentum to engulf the entire world. The only way to halt this incursion of Sharia is a firm rejection of it by the entire world population, irrespective of what their politically correct governments are doing to please Islam and the Arabs. We must not forget that Islam equals Arabism.

FP: What, in your view, is the element of Sharia that nurtures injustice?

Kasem: The most unfair element of Sharia is that it repudiates the fundamental principle of justice, that is: equality in the eye of law. In Sharia, Muslims and non-Muslims are not equal. This inequality extends even to the treatment of Muslim women. Muslim women are not treated as equal to Muslim men in the tenets of Sharia. Here is a glaring example: According to Saudi law (strictly based on Islamic Sharia) the life of a Muslim male is much higher than a non-Muslim man, and the life of female Muslim is much lower than that of Muslim man.

For instance:

WALL STREET JOURNAL: - The Wall Street Journal, April 9, 2002). In Saudi Arabia, the concept of blood money as per Islamic Shariat (If a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the latter has to pay blood money or compensation), as follows:

100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man

50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman

50,000 riyals if a Christian man

25,000 riyals if a Christian woman

6,666 riyals if a Hindu man

3,333 riyals if a Hindu woman

That is, a Muslim man's life is worth 33 times that of a Hindu woman

The inequality of Muslims and non-Muslims is enshrined in the Qur’an and hadis. Here are a few examples:

A Muslim must not be killed for killing an infidel (Hadis and ibn Kathir’s interpretation of verse 5:45 ).

Believers and non-believers are not equal…6:50, 28:61, 32:19, 35:19-22, 38:28, 39:9, 40:58, 45:21, 59:20, 67:22, 68:35

That is why Sharia is a great insult to a civilized world.

FP: Ok, so let’s move on. Tell us how Islamic law dictates every single aspect of human life.

Kasem: I can give a sample of Sharia laws as enunciated in several authentic Islamic sources. Mind you these laws are not from the dead pages of history. Many of these laws are vigorously enforced in Islamic countries.

The Sharia laws I will discuss are extracted from:

Reliance of the Traveller (Umdat al-Saliq) translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller. These laws are indicated with alphanumeric.

Sharia the Islamic Law by Abdur Rahman I. Doi.

The Hedaya (commentary on the Islamic Laws) translated by Charles Hamilton.

So where would you like to begin?

FP: How about with marriage and sex?

Kasem: Fair enough:

The husband’s permission is required for a wife to work (Doi, p.117).

Beating a wife is allowed (Doi, p.130).

The wife must worship the husband. Unbridled freedom of modern women is not good (Doi, p.132).

Muslim women can’t marry unbelievers under any circumstances (Doi, p.138).

The guardian of a woman must be a male. A woman cannot be married by herself. A widow can marry by herself (Doi, p.141).

Hanafi, Shafii and Maliki rate the marriage of a minor boy or a girl as lawful (Doi, p.142).

A Muslim man is allowed to have four wives at one time (Hedaya, p.31; Doi, p.147).

A law against polygamy is against the Qur’an. Not a single Hadith is against polygamy; modernists reject Qur’an and Sunnah. Satisfy more wives (Doi, p.152).

Prohibition on polygamy is a violation of Sharia provision. Court does not understand biological need. Follow Muhammad (59:7) (Doi, p.153).

A drop of semen is the greatest sin (Doi, p.236).

Adoption is not allowed in Sharia (Doi, p.463).

Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women (foreskin for men, prepuce of clitoris for women) (e4.3, p.59).

Wudu (ablution)—use not less than 0.51 litre of water (e5.24(1), p.66).

Ghusl (bath)—use not less than 2.03 litres of water (e5.24(2), p.66).

Make repeated love, do repeated ablution (e5.29, p.67).

Human private parts are impure; do not touch them with your hands (e7.4, p.74).

Stoning to death for adultery (married person, man or woman) (o12.2, p.610).

Fornication: scourge 100 stripes and banish 81 km for 1 year (for unmarried persons) (o12.2, p.610).

Men scourged standing, women sitting (o12.5, p.611).

Stone the adulterer/adulteress even in severe cold or illness (o12.6, p.611).

Sodomy and lesbianism considered as adultery; same punishment; kill both for sodomy (p17.2, p.665).

To get united with the previous husband a divorced wife must marry another person, have complete sex with him and get divorced by him voluntarily (Hedaya, p.15, n7.7, p.565; p29.1, p.673).

When making love, no talking (r32.7, p.767).

No talking ....but but that can be the best part!

Unlawful for a man to look at a woman who is not his wife or one of his unmarriageable kin (m2.3, p.512).

Husband and wife cannot look at each others genitals’ (m2.4 p.513).

WTF?

Unlawful for a woman to show any parts of her body to an adolescent boy or a non-Muslim woman (m2.7, p.513).

Whatever is unlawful to look is also unlawful to touch (m2.9, p.513).

A woman must not conduct her own marriage; she requires a male guardian (m3.4, p.518).

A non-Muslim man cannot be the guardian of a Muslim woman; a Muslim man cannot be the guardian of a non-Muslim woman (m3.4, p.519).

A male guardian of a virgin woman may force her to marry a man of his choice (m3.13, p.522).

Arab women cannot marry non-Arab men (because Allah has chosen the Arabs above others) (m4.2(1), p.523).

A man of lowly profession cannot marry the daughter of higher profession (m4.2(3), p.524).

Lovely .... equality

When the husband settles the dower (bride money) or defers it, a wife must immediately submit her private parts to her husband’s demand for sex, unless she has legitimate ground of not doing so; if she requests to wait the maximum waiting time is three days (m5.1, p.523).

He'd have to get it at gunpoint.

A husband has the full right to enjoy his wife’s person, from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet (m5.4, p.526).

Uh, what about the clitorisless woman? No sugar?

It is unlawful for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man (m6.7(5), p.529).

Husbands are not obliged to provide doctor’s fees, medicines and cosmetics to wives; they must provide only food, cloths and housing; rebellious wife doesn’t get anything (Hedaya, p.140; m11.4, p.544).

A Muslim man is allowed to beat his wife or wives (the Qur’an, 4:34 ; m10.12, p.541; o17.4, p.619).

If wife refuses sex, the husband is not obliged to support her until she surrenders her person to the husband (m11.9, p.545).

A divorced wife gets maintenance only for maximum three months (Hedaya, p.145, Shafii law, no support during her waiting period if pregnant, then support is on daily basis until she gives birth (m11.10 (3), p.546).

A son is obliged to finance his poor father’s marriage (m12.5, p.549).

Husband divorces wife instantly even under torture, compulsion, alcohol, narcotics and jokes; then he can marry a new set of four wives and continue the cycle (Hedaya, p.81, 253; n3.5, p.560).

The only way for a wife to get divorce is to convince the sharia court and also to pay money to her husband (Hedaya, p.112; n5.0, p.562; n7.7).

FP: How about using the bathroom?

Kasem: Visiting lavatory—cover head, cover feet, carry stones (odd number, minimum three), and say prayer (e9.1, p.76).

Entering toilet—left foot first; exiting toilet right foot first, offer prayer (e9.1, p.76).

After urinating men squeeze the penis with the left hand from base to head (of penis); women squeeze the front (vulva) between thumb and forefinger; in both cases three times (e9.1(11), p.76).

Do not defecate with front facing the sun, the moon or the sacred in Jerusalem , Kaba (e9.0(16), p.77).

When no water available do wudu, ghusl using dirt (e12.0, p.84).

FP: Praying, eating and drinking?

Kasem: Beat a child (10+) for not praying and fasting (f1.2, p.109).

Not praying is unbelief; penalty is execution (f1.3, p.109).

Pray wearing ankle length shirt and a turban (f5.7, p.122).

Use a tooth stick before every prayer/reciting the Qur’an (e3.2, p.57).

Drinking alcoholic drink—strike 40 stripes…o16.2

Muslims cannot eat meat slaughtered by Zoroastrians, apostates, idol worshippers, and the Christians of the desert Arab tribe (j17.2, p.364).

FP: Apostasy and jihad?

Kasem: Making sarcasm is leaving Islam (o8.0, p.595).

Kill the apostates of Islam (o8.1, o8.2, p.596).

No indemnity required for killing an apostate (o8.4, p.596).

No expiation is required for killing an apostate of Islam (o5.4, p.593).

Jihad means to war against the non-Muslims (lesser jihad, based on 2:216, 4:89, 9:36 ) (o9.0; p.599).

Jihad is warfare to establish the religion of Islam (greater Jihad)…p.599

Basis for Jihad:

(1) fighting is prescribed (2:216).

(2) slay them wherever you find them (4:89).

(3) fight the idolatry utterly ( 9:36 ).

Hadith: I have been commanded to fight—Bukhari.

To go forth in the morning—Muslim

Jihad is a communal obligation (o9.1; p.600).

Jihad is obligatory for every Muslim who is able to perform it, male or female (o9.3, p.601).

Caliph makes war upon the Jews, the Christians, the Zoroastrians…..by first inviting them to enter Islam, if no success then pay jizya, if no jizya then kill them (o9.8, p.602).

Women and children captured in a jihad operation become the slaves of Muslims; the women’s previous marriage is immediately annulled (o9.13; p.604).

Arab idolater must become Muslims or die (o9.9, p.603).

In a jihad operation Muslims can kill old men (40+) and monks (o9.10, p.603).

Male captives’ fate is decided by the Caliph; this includes gratuitous killing of male captives (o9.14, p.604).

Truces are permitted but not obligatory. When uppermost—no truce until some interest is served---‘so do not be fainthearted and call for peace when it is you who are the uppermost’ (the Qur’an 47:35).

If weak then make truce for 10 years.

If possibility of making Muslim--then establish 4 months truce.

Spoils are for free male Muslims (o10.0, p.606).

Dhimmis are: 1. the Jews 2. the Christians 3. Zoroastrians 4. Samarians and Sabians 5. Adherents of religion of Abraham (o11.1, p.607).

Not included in Dhimmi: idol worshippers, no sacred book, Sikhs, Bahai, Mormons, Qadianis. Books revealed after Islam are not acceptable (o11.2, p.607).

The Dhimmis’ public behaviour and dress must be Islamic (o11.3, p.607).

Minimum jizya is one dinar (4.235g of gold) per year; maximum jizya—no limit; no woman, children or insane is to pay jizya (o11.4, p.p.608)/

Dhimmis must comply with Islamic rules except drunkenness, can’t greet them with as-salamu alaikum, must keep to the side of the street, no high building, no wine display, no church bell, no new churches, not stay in Hijaz for more than 3 days (o11.6, p.608).

FP: How about some miscellaneous rules that we may have skipped?

Kasem: Women’s testimony in Business transactions is half of men’s (the Qur’an 2:282, Hedaya, p.637; o24.7, p.637).

Women’s testimony is not accepted in Hudood cases (Hedaya, p.353; o24.9, p.638).

Evidence of a female singer and slave (male or female) is not admissible (Hedaya, p.361).

Music, song dance haram (r40.0, p.774).

Slavery—allowed (w13.0, p.871).

Masturbation, unlawful (Qur’an 23:5-7) (w37.0, p.932).

Smoking unlawful (w41.1, p.940).

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

Insurance unlawful (w42.0, p.942).

Interest haram (w43.0, p.943).

TV, offensive, unlawful (w50.10, p.964).

Citizenship in an Islamic country, severely restricted (o11.0, p.607).

It is offensive to send Muslim children to day care centers run by non-Muslims (m13.3, p.552).

Muslim women’s Blood-Money is half of Muslim men’s; Jews and Christians one-third; Zoroastrians one-fifteenth (only sons, not daughters can claim Blood-Money) (o4.9, p.590).

Toothpaste is offensive; use a twig (from Arak tree, miswak) or tooth stick instead (e3.0, e3.1, p.53).

But of course!

Clip moustache, shaving beard is unlawful/offensive (e4.1(2), p.58).

Visiting sick non-believers is merely permissible (g1.2, p.222).

FP: So what do all these rules -- and there are myriad more -- say about Sharia?

Kasem: These rules demonstrate that Sharia is barbaric, hateful, imperialistic, and unjust. Civilization cannot progress with such archaic and unfair laws.

Wow, long post. As my time is valuable, I won't address everything, but I'll point out what struck me as just bogus:

First translation and context is wrong (I'm lucky enough to know Arabic and actually read this stuff for myself):

"And most assuredly, it [the scripture] is a guide and mercy for the believers. Your God is the One who judges among them in accordance with His rules. He is the Almighty, the Omniscient." (27:77-78)

Second translation is inaccurate:

"We have given the Children of Israel the scripture, wisdom, and prophethood, and provided them with good provisions; we bestowed upon them more blessings than any other people.
We have given them herein clear commandments. Ironically, they did not dispute this until the knowledge had come to them. This is due to jealousy on their part. Surely, your Lord will judge them on the Day of Resurrection regarding everything they have disputed.
We then appointed you to establish the correct laws; you shall follow this, and do not follow the wishes of those who do not know." (45:16-18)

Third translation is laughable, and was twisted around on purpose, no doubt about it:

"And God created the heavens and the earth for a specific purpose, in order to pay each soul for whatever it earned, without the least injustice. (45: 22)

And now for the fun parts: Islam teaches that men and women are equal in their rights and duties. You'll just scoff and throw a couple of links my way showing incidents of the opposite, but that's just what they are: Incidents. They still fly in the face of Islamic spirit, and being the first religion to guarantee women the right to live, the right to inherit, the right to get an education, the right to have her own property and manage her own money, the right to choose her husband, the right to get divorced, the right to participate in trade, .. Heck even Talmudic Law hasn't given women all these rights, as far as I know.

Besides, taking Saudi Arabia as a model example for true Islamic laws is like blaming the US legal system because people commit homicide in America. A life of a woman is NOT less worth the life of the man, and whoever lives by the idea that it is, is just plain wrong. So when Saudi Arabia claims that women aren't allowed to drive, then they're just wrong, because at the times of the Prophet, women could ride around alone regularly.

So what's next: "A Muslim must not be killed for killing an infidel (Hadis and ibn Kathir’s interpretation of verse 5:45 )."

Hm.. A quick glance at verse 5:45: "And we decreed for them in it that: the life for the life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and an equivalent injury for any injury. If one forfeits what is due to him as a charity, it will atone for his sins. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the unjust."

And interestingly enough, in the next verse (5:46):

"Subsequent to them, we sent Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the previous scripture, the Torah. We gave him the Gospel, containing guidance and light, and confirming the previous scriptures, the Torah, and augmenting its guidance and light, and to enlighten the righteous."

This one is rich: "The wife must worship the husband."

What greater contradiction is there than claiming that a strictly monotheistic religion preaches that a human should worship another human? If worshiping Mohamed himself is considered idolatory, then what about a woman worshiping her husband? I call major league bullsh!t on whoever wrote this.

"Adoption is not allowed in Sharia"

Rubbish. You may adopt an orphan, and bring them up as if they were your child. This is a deed of great charity and is greatly rewarded, BUT what is not allowed is that the adopted child takes up your family name. This causes trouble in matters of inheritance for example and is thus avoided.

Erm.. No. He can't.

Again, I call bullsh!t. Quote by Mohamed: "The people are equal as the teeth of a comb. There is no difference between an Arab and an "Aagamy" (Non-Arab), except by their God-fearing (righteousness)."

Whoever wrote this has really no idea whatsoever. Islam rejects this strict segregation of class, and puts no profession above the other, as long as they are both honest and honourable. If you see this happening in any country, it is purely society-based, and has nothing to do with religion.

First off, the least people in Islamic countries have four wives. Living in Egypt for 15 years, I haven't encountered anybody married to more than one, ever.
And then about the divorce thing, you probably didn't know that a divorce is invalid for reasons as simple enough as the husband being too angry to think clearly. So if tortured, intoxicated, or whatever invalidates this as well. It's hard to imagine how one can conjure up this poppycock while claiming to be an expert.

Unfortunately for you, there is an entire chapter in the Quran devoted for the issue of divorce. Note verses 1, 2 and 6.

Now here comes the real fun: "Jihad means to war against the non-Muslims (lesser jihad, based on 2:216, 4:89, 9:36 ) (o9.0; p.599).

Again, completely off. Warfare is only permitted in a defensive manner ONLY. You do NOT attack those who haven't attacked you. You do NOT launch wars of aggression. And if somebody FIGHTS YOU, you FIGHT BACK, until they STOP (More about that soon).

Quran quote: "God does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. God loves the equitable.
God enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors. (60:8-9)

The terms "lesser Jihad" and "greater Jihad" are used here wrong, as usual. The true story behind this is that when the pagans of Mecca had launched an attack on the Muslim population in Medina, the Prophet told his people after the battle: "We have now returned from the lesser Jihad to the greater Jihad". His companions asked him what he meant by "greater Jihad", and he said: "Jihad al nafs" (Struggle against one-self). It's no rocket science that humans always have urges to submit to their desires in committing sin, and this is what one should strive to suppress.

In fact, any situation where you take a burden onto yourself in order to do good, help others, or better yourself is Jihad. Every footstep you take while heading to visit the ill, help your neighbour, or get an education is a step in God's path. The more trouble you go through in order to do any of this, the better it is for you. THIS is Jihad, and not going around, murdering random people.

Furthermore, if you use the "slay them wherever you find them" quote to prove how eeeevviiiil Islam is, you've automatically placed a proverbial dunce hat over your head and proven to be dishonest and/or ignorant.

Behold while your main pillar of Islamophobia crumbles:

"Why should you divide yourselves into two groups regarding hypocrites (among you)? God is the one who condemned them because of their own behavior. Do you want to guide those who are sent astray by God? Whomever God sends astray, you can never find a way to guide them.

They wish that you disbelieve as they have disbelieved, then you become equal. Do not consider them friends, unless they mobilize along with you in the cause of God. If they turn against you, you shall fight them, and you may kill them when you encounter them in war. You shall not accept them as friends, or allies.

Exempted are those who join people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, and those who come to you wishing not to fight you, nor fight their relatives. Had God willed, He could have permitted them to fight against you. Therefore, if they leave you alone, refrain from fighting you, and offer you peace, then God gives you no excuse to fight them.

You will find others who wish to make peace with you, and also with their people. However, as soon as war erupts, they fight against you. Unless these people leave you alone, offer you peace, and stop fighting you, you may fight them when you encounter them. Against these, we give you a clear authorization." (4:87-91)

It helps to actually READ the book, rather than parroting lies, you know..

As I'm running out of time (and you'll probably not have read all this up to this point), I'll address one final part of all this:

You know, there was a time where Mohamed had a Jewish neighbor, who would take a dump every early morning at Mohamed's doorstep before he'd go out for prayer (And before you scream "Anti-semitism", no, this has nothing to do with the fact that the man was Jewish, and is certainly not condoned by Judaism, as far as I know).

First off, there are different categories of Hadiths: Those that are considered authentic, those that might not be authentic but are acceptable, and those suspicious of being fraudulent. And now you may guess which category this "killing Jews" one belongs to.

In fact, you can play this whole game with any religion or any group of people on the planet. See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Stupid language? If you had any knowledge of Arabic, you would know that the language of the Quran is unmatched, and has stumped all the prodigious poets throughout Arab literary history (And the Arab world has a very long history of poetry). It's something you can't appreciate because the beauty of this language is not apparent from the translations.

Furthermore - and this is something that you didn't know either - there are things revealed in the Quran that couldn't have been proven except by modern science, and was therefore impossible for the people of that time to know, except by a Godly revelation. The movement of planets and entire galaxies, the structure and effects of mountains, the details of a fetus ' development in its mothers womb, dispersion of light when travelling through water, the uniqueness of human fingerprints, .. To all these things, and a bit more, there are references in the Quran. If you think this is all stupid language, then you're the stupid one.

Another side information you didn't know: The Prophet was illiterate. He never learned how to read or write, in his life. If God is revealing these words to you, you don't need this either.

Also your reference to the crapping and stones shows how detached you are from reality. You will probably know (or maybe even not), that Islam is over 1400 years old, and appeared in a desert environment. Needless to say, they didn't have toilet paper 1400 years ago, and would often be in a situation where there's nothing to clean yourself with, especially while traveling (aka. trudging through the desert for weeks). So the people either used a cloth, when available, or stones when not.

I have to give the guys at "Religion of Peace" the credit for being dedicated, but that's all. In fact, what they're doing is in no way special, nor creative, nor does it show anything significant, assuming all of it is authentic and not made up out of thin air. Why not? Because, if I had their motivation, I could start a website called "Land of Peace", and list down in the same manner every single crime committed by an American. With the high murder rates in large American cities, and rates of rapists, drug dealers, etc. the list would be pretty full as well. School shootings would get extra attention and hundreds of posts "proving" how American students are all violent and dangerous gun-wielding psychopaths. All the white supremacist groups would be the centerpiece of the agenda, as the genocidal folks that inhabit Gates of Vienna and other similar blogs.

Technically, you COULD launch such a project. But you and I know it would be stupid to do so, because it doesn't describe America accurately, and leaves out the tons of good things that are prevalent in American society.

So while this list might seem like a lot, the list of good actions of Muslims towards one another and towards people of other faiths dwarfs it by a long shot.

Even if you managed to prove that there are - say - 15 million Muslim terrorists in the world, that means that 99% of Muslims are not.

A note about "Taqiya": Before you and your league of Islamophobes started parroting this term, I had never even heard of it. The reason? The idea is only supported by Shia Muslims, a minority of the Muslim world. The concept is new to me, I don't even know how the word is pronounced correctly in Arabic, and many Sunni clerics (The mainstream form of Islam) even say it's wrong. A truly faithful Muslim never lies, and doesn't need to conceal anything from anyone, Muslim or not.

Everything I have told you in these comments are 100% honest, and I wouldn't be trying to clarify things if I didn't really mean it. My time is too valuable to be wasted on posting random lies on blogs like yours. You still haven't proven to me that I'm wrong in any of my points though, I'd like to remind you. RISE--I am in charge of my identity, thank you, and I tell you the "ghost" has walked into the light. As for Spencer, it was his sort of propaganda that led me to such a binge of hateful writing of which I am now trying to atone for. I am no cheerleader nor apologist, I'm merely willing to see the reality that 1.4 billion people are not all doing these things, and from many talks with Sphinx he most certainly is not the sort of person who could hurt a fly much less condone such violence. I just know a lot of Muslims, and none of them think that the salafis are anything more than extremist loons. They view them the same way we view people like Fred Phelps, except that they also fear that more people will end up hating them just for being Muslims.

What is being said about Islam by people like Spencer is no better than Jack Chick and his followers slamming any Christianity emanating from anywhere West and North of Rome (and please don't remind me of Spencer's heritage, I know it well--remember, I was "Pim's Ghost", I need no refresher courses in the basics of online Islam-bashing). Spencer has a lovely career and I hope that it at least reflects his true beliefs, much as I disagree with most of them. For what it is worth, I was unable to take down an old "pimsghost" video (No More Tantrums/Simple Math) about the fact that the %age of extremists within Islam need to be dealt with and not allowed to bully anyone. These people need to be dealt with by everyone, including Muslims (an idea reinforced by the "Atlas interview with Bat Ye'or", transcribed by me and posted here, her words about working with Muslims which I well remember well (late in the interview). The salafi/wahhabist BS being spread across the globe needs to be countered as do any dangerous ideologies. But note, this is a sectarian ideology, not indicative of how the entire ummah practices their religion.

I have never recanted my ideals that our nations must be defended against attacks, our sovereignty declared and defended despite the fact that these ideas are now "unfashionable". I remain a staunch patriot and am no "fence sitter", but nor am I a party-line parrot nor have I ever been. You and others have often expressed interest in discussing matters with Muslims who have grown up in the Muslim world. Sphinx is actually very civil and willing to discuss matters in actual debate, but please do not expect (anyone here) for him to not stand up for himself when attacked.

A post attacking any religion's Holy Texts is bound to invite refutation from those of that religion, this is common sense. Unless this is one of the oft mentioned "echo chambers", why not discuss the matters at hand? I have been discussing problems I have getting past regarding parts of the Qur'an, actually with Sphinx. As Pamela well knows, when I used to blog prior to my epiphany people labeled me a "crypto Jew", a "neo-con", everything under the sun despite my statements that I am hardly a social conservative (and not really a conservative at all but a moderate). We used to laugh about that. Now that I have called anti-Muslim web inhabitants on this stance as being bigotry, it matters not what I say. You'll just toss me into the other category and refuse to actually debate any points I make. Your loss, insisting on such a black and white view of the world. And all exactly like the Know Nothings, no different at all, and your fate will be the same as theirs. You will fade away. Sphinx is quite correct, you are all lying to yourselves about the realities of Islam in the world, viewing it only through glasses crafted by those like Spencer and certain blogs and websites. Take them off and do yourself some good for once. It will not prevent you from being patriotic nor seeing Muslim terrorists for what they are, you will just be able for once to see beyond this.

The fact that the Torah is hailed in the Quran as God's words to humanity several times should be enough to make you go *click* and see that you've been missing something. Moses has found amongst Muslims more reverence than in any other religion, bar Judaism. Two of the six pillars of faith (which I'm sure our Islam expert "Rise up" would know like the back of his hand) are "to believe in his [God's] prophets (including Moses)" and "his scriptures" (Quran, Gospel, Torah, and other revalations to Abraham, etc..).

Any passages in the Quran condemning Jewish people are of entirely historical background, e.g. the people who initially followed Moses, then blasphemed against him by worshipping the golden calf, whereas it promised the other Jews who followed Moses and remained on the right path a great rewarding (as any other true and righteous believer).

Therefore, there is no such thing as "Islamic Jew hatred". Notice the adjective "Islamic". We are not taught to intrinsically hate Jews, and you won't find another religion that commands its followers to acknowledge yours like Islam did. Furthermore Islam is more similar to Judaism in its customs than any other two religions I've heard of. The idea of kosher/halal food, ablution before prayers, male circumcision (female circumcision is a much, much older custom than Islam and is based on tradition, not religion), etc.

And even if you found people who hate Jews for being Jewish (and I've seen this idiocy myself): For each Muslim you find that irrationally hates Jews, I can find at least a non-Muslim who irrationally hates Muslims in return. So let's not play this game.

As for Israel as a political entity: I personally detest Israel's policy in the holy lands, ranging from failing to settle its borders, land-grabbing and building illegal settlements, indiscriminately bombing civilian areas to collectively punishing an entire population for the actions of a few angry people with rockets.

I don't condone any ideas of obliterating Israel, and don't approve of everything the Palestinian authorities have been doing. In fact I'm all for Israel's existence if it were to live peacefully with its neighbours, stop turning Gaza into a huge prison and acknowledging Palestinians' sovereignty in the same way it demands that for itself. I think many Palestinian people would wish no more than this as well, and I have met a few.

I will be quick to add that this is referring to Israel's policy only. I don't hold resentment against Israeli or Jewish people for that matter, in fact I would condemn any government that acts in the same way, be it "Jewish", "Muslim", "Christian", or whatever else. Your religion doesn't matter to me as much as your actions.

"Dissing" either Bostom or Warraq's 'works' is entirely valid. I know you're friends with Dr. Bostom, Pamela, but I find him rather an intellectual lightweight myself. I never even made it through his first book...um, first book as Editor not author. Ibn Warraq has the same hatred for Islam as so many who have left Christianity and malign it and its history to the point that being a religious Christian is now frowned upon in much of the West. The fervor of the apostate (of any religion) is as great as that of the convert. Warraq's most notable book's title was even a play on the rather famous tome "Why I'm Not a Christian", as he acknowledges in his "Why I'm Not a Muslim". His personal points for why he chose to leave Islam are of course valid, but condensing centuries of history into a summation of how every single Muslim worships and feels is charlatanism of the worst sort, and is performed against Christianity as well regularly.

Why not dismiss Warraq as well as those who work to malign the religions of others? Let them preach to their choirs, but in the end Warraq is merely advancing his own belief in Secular Humanism, a belief which is dismissive of the faiths of anyone in this discussion. Why not ask Warraq about Jewish beliefs? I doubt if his answer would be pleasing to most here.

Yay. He hates where he came from, what he was taught as a child. Are these not the things that this blog fights against if those people are American or Israeli (or from other Western countries)? Why is it OK for Warraq? That is even remotely logical. What makes him different than Ward Churchill, really, other than that his tales please those who hate Islam here in this hemisphere but not in his own homeland? I despise Churchill personally, but I fail to see how their positions are different but in writing skills. "Diss" them both all day long for all I care, they deserve it.
