Church's Chicken: An Example of Islam in the Private Sector Islamist watch

A lawsuit involving Church's Chicken shines a spotlight on the Islamic attributes of its business. It also offers a valuable opportunity to discuss the rights of owners and customers regarding Islam in the private sphere:

A Baltimore couple has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Islamic investment bank that owns the Church's Chicken fast-food chain, alleging their franchise failed because the bank's strict adherence to the religious code of Shari'a prohibited the couple from selling pork.

Marcus and Denise Beasley, who are black, claimed they were treated differently by the bank, now known as Atlanta-based Arcapita Inc., than non-black franchisees who were allowed to continue serving breakfast dishes containing pork after the chain was acquired by the bank in December 2004.

The couple did not benefit from the grandfather policy allowing the sale of pork even though their contract with the chain's former owners, AFC Enterprises Inc., to open a location in Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport's new terminal predated the takeover and policy change, according to the suit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

This court will determine whether Arcapita, the American affiliate of Bahrain's First Islamic Investment Bank BSC, is guilty of discrimination or breach of contract. However, the aspect of the story that has received the most notice — the Shari'a-inspired prohibition on pork products at Church's Chicken — does not appear to raise any legal red flags.

A privately owned business may choose to sell or not sell whatever it wishes, as long as it does not violate the law or infringe upon the rights of others in the process. Customers have no inherent right to purchase pork at Church's Chicken franchises, and the company is under no obligation to offer it — regardless of the underlying motivation.

The free market, however, cuts both ways. Hungry Americans are not required to patronize any given restaurant. In the case of Church's Chicken, the absence of pork on the menu is just one excuse to eat elsewhere. Diners may also be concerned about what their money will fund at the Shari'a-compliant First Islamic Investment Bank in Bahrain.

Judging by reaction to this story in the blogosphere, the lawsuit itself could be the least of the problems facing Church's Chicken, whose business practices have clearly laid an egg in front of customers.

Have you seen this this attack piece attacking the truth warrior Phyllis Chesler by Sheila Musaji  of the American Muslim?It's so funny to me to read and listen to an American Muslim woman tear a truthteller apart. These tools of the jihad  love to condemn activists  (Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali etc.) fighting the oppressed, subjugated, mutilated, murdered women in Islamic countries while doing nothing for their sisters. They smear and attempt to destroy the the very people that are fighting to remove the misogyny and terror in the lives of Muslim women. Who better understands the subjugation demanded of shariah law than a Muslim woman? It's freakin' absurd.

Musaji speaks of foreign countries when Islam speaks of two - Dar al harb and Dar al Islam ( dar al-harb (territory of war or chaos) is the name for the regions where Islam does not dominate, where divine will is not observed, and therefore where continuing strife is the norm. By contrast, dar al-islam (territory of peace) is the name for those territories where Islam does dominate, where submission to God is observed, and where peace and tranquility reign).

Chesler has suffered enormously in her field (feminism, womens studies, academia) for taking a bold, no leftist position. The feminists and the left have aligned themselves with the terror force but who would think American Muslim women would stand with Chesler. They know.   No good deed goes unpunished.

Meanwhile, these sanctimonious tools, enjoy all the luxurious freedoms that America provides (free to express their seditious opinions, they fail to compute they are not going to like what comes after America).

Note:  I looked through a number of Phyllis Chessler’s articles, and found many that were just as Islamophobic, and was puzzled by her seeming hatred of Islam and Muslims, and then I came across an article ”How my eyes were opened to the barbarity of Islam” in which she tells the awful story of her marriage to an Afghan man and her time spent in Kabul in a terrible marriage in pre-Taliban, but certainly feudal Afghanistan.  The bio at the end of this article says that Phyllis Chessler is an Emerita Professor of Psychology and Women’s Studies at the City University of New York.  It is a shame that her psychology background didn’t help her to see her transference of justifiable anger towards her husband and his family (or even towards tribal Afghan culture) onto all of Islam and all Muslims.

Nonpareil first amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams includes a rigorous defense of the intrepid Rachel Ehrenfeld in this Wall Street Journal appeal to New York Governor David Patterson for his signature into law of a bill passed unanimously by the New York state legislature granting Ms. Ehrenfeld, and other potential US citizen defendants sued for libel abroad, the right to obtain a declaration in New York that their works are protected under American law.

Ehrenfeld’s travails have motivated Rep. Peter King (R., N.Y.) to propose federal legislation which would provide the same relief.

Abrams cites a late 1941 Supreme Court opinion which “…starkly distinguished American protection of speech from that of England.” Justice Hugo Black’s opinion stated plainly,

No purpose in ratifying the Bill of Rights was clearer…than of securing for the people of the United States much greater freedom of . . . expression . . . than the people of Great Britain had ever enjoyed

Let us hope Governor Patterson signs the bill today.

Obama Too Little, Too Late

I caught his speech at the airport, what a pathetic, ill timed performance (and that's what it was, a perfomance).

By their fruits ye shall know them, and so we know him. He is denouncing Jeremiah now? Wright is ugly but consistent. I can't say the same for Obama. He refused to denounce him before - what's changed? Not Wright's message, certainly. What's changed is the obvious repulsion of the American people to Wright's hate speech.  Even the left is blanching. From Taranto at Best of the Web:

• Joan Walsh⁷, Salon: "I regret that I hedged my observation about Wright's narcissism. . . . His Sunday night talk to the NAACP was mostly silly, from the questionable science behind his insistence that black children are right-brained (creative) while white children are left-brained (logical and analytical) to his mocking the way white people talk, dance, clap, worship and sing. I understand and agree with Wright's notion that "different is not deficient," but mocking white people, including JFK and LBJ, doesn't seem like the best way to get his point across."

• Eugene Robinson⁸, Washington Post: "I'm sorry, but I've had it with Wright. . . . This media tour he's conducting is doing a disservice that goes beyond any impact it might have on Obama's presidential campaign. . . . Historically and theologically, he was inflating his importance in a pride-goeth-before-the-fall kind of way. Politically, by surfacing now, he was throwing Barack Obama under the bus. Sadly, it's time for Obama to return the favor."

• Bob Herbert⁹, New York Times: "For Senator Obama, the re-emergence of Rev. Wright has been devastating. The senator has been trying desperately to bolster his standing with skeptical and even hostile white working-class voters. When the story line of the campaign shifts almost entirely to the race-in-your-face antics of someone like Mr. Wright, Mr. Obama's chances can only suffer. . . . Mr. Obama seems more and more like someone buffeted by events, rather than in charge of them. Very little has changed in the superdelegate count, but a number of those delegates have expressed concern in private over Mr. Obama's inability to do better among white working-class voters and Catholics. Rev. Wright is absolutely the wrong medicine for those concerns".

Obama, you can run but you can't hide. Taranto notes, "Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright seem to agree that Wright speaks for black America:

Sara Springer of the Stop the Madrassa Coalition sets the record straight on yesterday's article pushing the nightmare of a public school madrassa agenda.

In general we are being accused of the school's failure given Almontaser resigned due to her statements about the NYC Intifada t-shirts. By the time Almontaser resigned mid-August the curriculum had been chosen, the teachers hired, and she had completed her personal recruitment of students for the school.  She worked with a Design Team for a year prior to KGIA's opening.  Ostensibly the school should have been ready to go.  Whether or not she was there should not matter.  A public school should be able to function well with any Principal.

Evidently the school's students are experiencing behavioral problems.  Almontaser recruited them personally and elementary schools forward the student's records so she had to know her student body.  If provisions were not made then the responsibility rests with her.

Following are quotes from the NY Times article with my response-

 

"NY TIMES: But Ms. Almontaser's downfall was not merely the result of a spontaneous outcry by concerned parents and neighborhood activists.  It was also the work of a growing and organized movement to stop Muslim citizens who are seeking an expanded role in American public life."

SPRINGER RESPONDS: Outrageous assertion. We have been extraordinarily careful in documenting every statement linking Almontaser to radical Islamist groups such as CAIR, American Muslim Lawyers Association (AMLA), Muslim Consultive Network, Muslim American Society, Adalah, and Al Awda.  This statement is prejudicial to the extent that it infers we are opposed to Muslims participating in American life.  We have absolutely no issue with this.  Our concern is with the "soft jihad" that is infiltrating our schools with the intent of bringing Shari's law into our society by indoctrinating our children.  Ibrihim Hooper spokesman for CAIR told the Minneapolis Star Tribune in a 1993 interview "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future.  But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that. I'm going to do it through education."

NY TIMES: "Muslim leaders, academics and others see the drive against the school as the latest in a series of discriminatory attacks intended to distort the truth and play on American's fear of terrorism. They say the campaign is also part of a wider effort to silence critics of Washington's policy on Israel and the Middle East."

  SPRINGER: Our concern is based on the people and organizations that Almontaser has hand-picked to work with the school and students.  Truth has not been distorted.  Again, we have carefully documented our statements and have pursued our right to legally seek  transparency from the Department of Education.

NY TIMES: "(The advisory council never met and has since been dismantled, and the school does not offer halal food, Education Department officials said)."   
 
  SPRINGER: According to KGIA's Executive summary the plan and intent was to offer Halal food in the school cafeteria. The school does not offer halal food because the DOE refused the request.  KGIA was supposed to officially disband the advisory board through a public statement but this was never done. 

NY TIMES: Although Ms. Almontaser said she never spoke to the reporter about the t-shirt, she defended the girls in the organization because she believed that the reporter was set on "vilifying innocent teenagers." 
 
SPRINGER: Mona Eldhary, a co-founder of AWAAM, the organization that designed, produced, and distributed the NYC Intifada t-shirts is an active member of Al Awda (she is listed as such on their website).  Al Awda (the Return in Arabic) is …..a political advocacy organization that calls not for a peaceful settlement with Israel, but “peace” through the replacement of Israel by an Arab dominated state called Palestine.” [go here for more].  Its website clearly states its mission, “Al-Awda supports the struggle for the liberation of Palestine.”

"NY TIMES: During the Post interview, Ms. Almontaser said, she told the reporter Chuck Bennett that the Arab women's organization was not connected to her or the school, and that she would never be affiliated with any group that condoned violence."
 
  SPRINGER: The NYC Intifada T-shirt was produced and distributed by AWAAM, a group closely affiliated with Almontaser.  They are the lead organization supporting her reinstatement.  

Almontaser’s connection to the AWAAM group is not tenuous; she is both a founder and board member of the Yemeni American Association (SABA - YAA), and the AWAAM website (before it was quickly revised after the t-shirt exposé) directed “Contact Us” information to the YAA. The AAFSC, primary sponsors of KGIA, also sponsored the event where the t-shirts were sold.

"NY TIMES: A department spokeswoman said that a list of textbooks selected for the school was sent to the lawyer last fall."  
 
  SPRINGER: The documents given to the Stop the Madrassa Coalition pursuant to an Article 78 demanding the information since 4 FOIL's were not adequately responded to did not contain textbooks, lesson plans, or worksheets regarding the teaching of Arabic language and culture.

Donna Nevel in her interview liked to the article said that the opponents of the school don't like Arabic language dual education.  We at the Stop the Madrassa Coalition have always maintained that many languages including Arabic should be taught as an elective in schools across the city.

NY TIMES: "Ms. Almontaser never considered herself unenthusiastic about America, she said."

· Almontaser has called America a racist country.

· She has said that the U.S. brought the 9/11 attack upon itself.

· She opposes the War on Terror

· She supports numerous radical organizations, including the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Trial for terrorist financing, where CAIR’s relationship to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, has been repeatedly argued by the prosecution 

· She accepted an annual award from CAIR in 2005.

· She is on the board of the Muslim Consultative Network, whose members include unindicted co-conspirator CAIR and the radical Islamic Circle of North America. The Muslim Consultative Network is a major sponsor of the Almontaser Reinstatement Effort.

· Has been a spokesperson for the Muslim American Society for a NYC 9/11 event.

· Refused to answer a NY Sun reporter as to whether or not Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations

· Refused to say that the Intifada was a Palestinian terror campaign against innocent Israeli civilians, children, women, and men.

· Dabah has appointed radical Imams to her schools Board of Advisors. 

 

 
Background on organizations partnering with KGIA

1. The American Muslim Association of Lawyers (AMAL) offers internships, and helps with a course in human rights (in 6th grade…) (P. 7, p. 18). The AMAL website appears to be inactive (http://www.theamal.org/index.shtml) but the group (or at least their website) was founded by Omar Mohammedi, President of the New York Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), and lawyer for the infamous “6 imams” who have threatened to sue airline personnel and passengers for “profiling.” CAIR is currently under investigation in the Holy Land Terror-financing trial, as an unindicted co-conspirator.

2. The American Mideast Leadership Network will participate with the school as an important partner (pages 16-18). According to the Executive Summary, the AMLN will provide trips to “ stabilized” Middle Eastern countries, create internships, provide an after-school leadership program and provide intensive language opportunities. According to our research, they may do all this while acting as Hezbollah apologists, if their leader’s statements are representative. On July 31, 2006 Rami Nuseir, the President of the AMLN, stated on CNN that:

“A lot of people look at Hezbollah as a social service agency that provides a lot of help for the Lebanese people. And that’s where the sympathy comes from.”

3A main partner listed in the Executive Summary, the Columbia University Teachers College Department of International and Transcultural Studies teacher training in fact teaches about one religion and one only - Islam. KGIA only recognizes the teaching of a single religion in this ostensibly public school (page 8):

4. Arab Culture will be taught, however no where is there mention of Sephardic Jews, Ba hai’s, Coptic Christians, Druze, Lebanese Christians, or any other Arab culture except Islamic culture.

6. The DOE website for the KGIA lists as its first  partner the Arab-American Ant-Discrimination Committee. Its founder and President is none other than the former Democratic Senator James Abourezk who recently appeared on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar Television. Al-Manar is banned in the U.S. because Hezbollah is designated by the government as a terrorist organization. Azbourezk stated that the Arabs involved in 9/11 co-operated with Zionists, the Israel Lobby controls the U.S. Congress, Hamas and Hezbollah are “resistance” fighters, not terrorist organizations! Lastly Abourezk said that all Americans are racist.

Note that the ADC website provides biased educational instruction and curricula for middle and high schools and is overtly Islamic in its ideology. Not only is the ADC the first name on KGIA’s DOE website as the main partnering organization, this name was the first on the petition to reinstate Dhabah Almontaser as Principal.

7. The Arabic-American Family Suport Center located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is another key partner working with KGIA. Their website links to the Council on Islamic Education’s lesson plans. Why are NYC public school students being taught the nuances of Jihad?

· Define Jihad in its literal and applied meanings, as a principal and as an institution.

·  Describe legitimate conduct of war according to Islamic Law.

· Differentiate between rebellion and terrorism according to Muslim jurists.

This is what middle school children will be learning in a public school. The Executive Summary specifically states that the school will teach Islam and there were teacher training retreats held this past summer so that all teachers would be on the same wavelength.

As for school performance? It''s an abject failure.

KGIA, enthusiastically supported by, among others, convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, former Weather Underground leader and bombing justifier William Ayers, former SDS and Communist Party organizer Michael Klonsky, and Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party (created by the late Nation of Islam racist Khalid Muhammed), and a local imam who proudly posted the Muslim Brotherhood slogan and symbol on his website, has been the focus of numerous media reports, including one published in today’s New York Times by Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Andrea Elliott.

Ms. Elliott reports that shorly after KGIA’s opening day, “Chaos soon erupted inside. Students cut classes and got into fights with little consequence, said staff members, parents and students. At least 12 of the 60 students showed signs of behavioral problems or learning disabilities, said Leslie Kahn, a licensed social worker and counselor who was employed at the school until January. (Education Department officials, who denied repeated requests by The Times to visit the school, said there are currently six special-needs students there.)

“ ‘Something is flying through the air, every class, every day,’ Sean R. Grogan, a science teacher at the school, said in an interview. ‘Kids bang on the partitions, yell and scream, curse and swear. It’s out of control.’ The New York Times account continues, “Physical altercations are frequent, Mr. Grogan and others said, with Arab students and teachers the target of ethnic slurs. “I just don’t feel safe,” said an Arab-American student, 11, who will not return to the school next year.

Stop the Madrassa also is speaking out about the relationship between KGIA’s founding principal, Ms. Almontaser, and a deeply troubling “community statement” that was recently addressed to New York City Policy Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

According to journalist and author Stephen Suleiman Schwartz, who is executive director of the Center for Islamic Pluralism, on November 23, 2007, in response to the above-mentioned community statement, a statement was issued “in the name of the ‘Muslim community,’ ” protesting the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) release last year of its vital report on terrorism. Among other demands, the community statement called on the NYPD to stop distributing the report to other jurisdictions’ law enforcement agencies, and, as Schwartz put it, “arrogated to themselves the right to decide what the city’s police should do in response to the challenge of radical Islam. “

Schwartz, writing in The Weekly Standard, also reports that in a March 3, 2008 meeting in New York, CAIR officials Faiza Ali, Aliya Latif, and Omar Mohammadi “were joined by Islamist agitator Syed Z. Sayeed, religious adviser to the Saudi-backed Muslim Students Association at Columbia University . They noted that the NYPD had asked for a detailed reply to the report. The participants at the March 3 get-together also observed that while they would prepare such a response, CAIR itself has financed and is working on a more thorough text designated its ‘long-term analysis/alternative model of radicalization.’ “

Almontaser was also,as Schwartz reports, involved in CAIR’s counter-attack against the NYPD as evidenced by that fact that her “assignment in dealing with NYPD was to organize an online discussion group for input into the Community Statement.”

Stop the Madrassa Community Coalition notes Mr. Schwartz’s assessment that “…Almontaser should quit her masquerade as a moderate and her non-Muslim enablers should end their naïve defense of her alleged mainstream outlook. “ The coalition further points out that Ms. Almontaser has been a financial supporter of controversial Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, and adds that the time is long overdue for a full city and state investigation into the creation of KGIA and the possible role of Islamist organizations in any aspect of the school’s establishment or operation.

WRIGHT TO OBAMA: "COMING AFTER YOU"

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright said Monday that he will try to change national policy by “coming after” Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) if he is elected president.

The pastor also insisted Obama “didn’t denounce” him and “didn’t distance himself” from Wright’s controversial remarks, but “did what politicians do.”

Wright implied Obama still agrees with him by saying: “He had to distance himself, because he's a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American.”

Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years and performed his wedding, made the explosive comment during a chaotic question-and-answer session at the National Press Club in Washington, following the pastor’s remarks about the black church in America.

“I said to Barack Obama last year, ‘If you get elected, November the 5th I'm coming after you, because you'll be representing a government whose policies grind under people,’ Wright said.

He also stood by the foul, racist Farrakhan here. Wright said Farrakhan "was one of the most important voices of the twentieth and twenty first century":

Wright was also asked about his relationship with Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, whom Wright described as merely haven once said that Zionism -- not Judaism -- was a poisonous weed. (Farrakhan has far more than that one comment in his collection of anti-Semitic statements.

Farrakhan, Wright said, is "one of the most important voices in the 20th and 21st century," noting the Million Man March. "When Louis Farrakhan speaks, it's like when E.F. Hutton speaks...Black America listens."

"Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy," Wright said, since Farrakhan had not enslaved Africans and brought them in chains to the U.S.

Wright's security was provided by bodyguards from Farrakhan's Nation of Islam

On whether he should apologize for shouting in a sermon "God damn America" for its treatment of minorities: "God doesn't bless everything. God condemns some things. Should it become necessary in the months from now to identify the moment that doomed Obama's presidential aspirations, attention is likely to focus on the hour between nine and ten this morning at the National Press Club. It was then that Wright, Obama's longtime pastor, reignited a controversy about race from which Obama had only recently recovered - and added lighter fuel.

Speaking before an audience that included Marion Barry, Cornel West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammad, Wright praised Louis Farrakhan, defended the view that Zionism is racism, accused the United States of terrorism, repeated his view that the government created the AIDS virus to cause the genocide of racial minorities, stood by other past remarks ("God damn America") and held himself out as a spokesman for the black church in America.

His claim that the September 11 attacks mean "America's chickens are coming home to roost"? (More here)

Wright defended it: "Jesus said, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles, not Jeremiah Wright bombastic divisive principles."

His views on Farrakhan and Israel? "Louis said 20 years ago that Zionism, not Judaism, was a gutter religion. He was talking about the same thing United Nations resolutions say, the same thing now that President Carter's being vilified for and Bishop Tutu's being vilified for. And everybody wants to paint me as if I'm anti-Semitic because of what Louis Farrakhan said 20 years ago. He is one of the most important voices in the 20th and 21st century; that's what I think about him. . . . Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy. He did not put me in chains, he did not put me in slavery, and he didn't make me this color."

He denounced those who "can worship God on Sunday morning, wearing a black clergy robe, and kill others on Sunday evening, wearing a white Klan robe." He praised the communist Sandinista regime of Nicaragua. He renewed his belief that the government created AIDS as a means of genocide against people of color ("I believe our government is capable of doing anything").

And he vigorously renewed demands for an apology for slavery: "Britain has apologized to Africans. But this country's leaders have refused to apologize. So until that apology comes, I'm not going to keep stepping on your foot and asking you, does this hurt, do you forgive me for stepping on your foot, if I'm still stepping on your foot. Understand that? Capisce?"

The media and the moonbats rub their hands in diabolical glee when US military death milestones approach or are reached. The media wring their hands, shake their heads and prepare news segments  in hot anticipation of the next American casualty............. and the peace thugs walk through the streets with faux coffins and burn Bush effigies, making hay out of the deaths of great Americans fighting the evil forces of the global jihad.

A terrible milestone was reached today of monumental import but you won't see or hear about it anywhere but here (and other blogs I suspect.) In newsrooms and network news offices, crickets chirp.

On the "G" Word

So the blogs have their bowels in an uproar over El Ingles essay over at Gates of Vienna because he used the word genocide. He never  advocated for it,  mind you .... but  merely used the word in laying out the different scenarios of possible outcomes in the eventual Islamic takeover in Europe.

John Jay, prosecutor, blogger and Atlas reader cc'ed me on a letter he wrote to Roger Simon on the expulsion of Gates of Vienna from Pajama Media because they ran the essay(excerpt):

This is a ridiculous conversation for myriad reasons. The argument, in and of itself, is an act of submission.  Once again free speech is kicked in the teeth so as not to offend. And each time the West cedes a freedom, the line in the sand is moved, Islam scores one for the home team and we descend deeper into dhimmitude.

Secondly and more importantly, genocide on the part of Europeans (and let's be honest, it was the Germans, the Huns)  is the most impossible of all unlikely outcomes despite their recent history.

First off, the Muslims are not the Jews.

The Jewish genocide of the second World War was possible because the Jews were (and still are)  too civilized. They got on those trains because  they could never conceive in their  wildest imaginations of human beings treating their fellow man with such barbaric depravity. The victims of the Nazis .... Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill,  were all unprotected minorities, the target of spineless bullies. The  Jews et all  were fair game, easy prey.

The Muslims are not. The bullies of old will not take on violent jihad.

The question of Muslim genocide is an intellectually dishonest question. The Europeans have already surrendered .... under the guise of multiculturalism. But what it really is, is fear.  The Brits are giving Muslims with multiple wives, multiple benefits. Their Home Secretary proclaimed the ban of the term Islamic terror, in exchange for "anti-islamic terror". Their are no go zones in England. There's a low grade civil war going on in France and no go zones. From the Netherlands to Spain, Sweden to Denmark - each country in Europe is in the throes of cultural and societal transition to Shariah law.

If/when there is bloodshed, it will be the same violence going on against non-believers, infidels in Islamic countries.  Read the Koran. Read it  in conjunction to what is going on and being said in Islam today.  When they take over any European country or any other non-Muslim country, clearly the only possible "genocidal plan" will be to kill off all the men and take all the women and children as sex slaves to prevent a revolt that will undo their take over.  There  may very well be a massive slaughter and enslavement but I assure you it will be Islamic jihad against the nonbelievers. That is the very real scenario that everyone needs to know and come to grips with.

KGIA: NY TIMES WHORING FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL MADRASSAS

The best part of the NY Times propaganda piece basically advocating for public school madrassas (Islamic schools) is in the comment section, which has already been co-opted by the forces of evil. The leftist Islamic meme team is out in full force.  They are going to shove Islam down your throat (and your children's throat) whether you like it or not.

KEEP RELIGION OUT OF THE SCHOOLS. NO PUBLIC ISLAMIC SCHOOLS!

Permit me to extend my congratulations to Ms. Almontaser's protagonists for so quickly mobilizing to monopolize the comments section.  If one reads the article alone, without knowing anything else about the issue, one could not be blamed for being sympathetic to Ms. Almontaser, who is depicted as nothing short of a Muslim Mother Teresa.  Furthermore, it has become fashionable to portray Daniel Pipes as the embodiment of xenophobic hatred aimed at the poor defenseless Muslims.  In point of fact, this article cleverly skews the facts.  KGIA is an insulated environment in which those who are dedicated to Islamist doctrine can be free to inculcate our children with anti-Western ideology.  Stop the Madrassa is not opposed to teaching Arabic (as the ubiquitous Ms. Eldahry would have us believe).  Stop the Madrassa is in favor of teaching Arabic, but in an open, public environment, as an elective along with Spanish, Chinese, Russian, etc.  KGIA is too insulated to trust to anyone.  Look at its avowed supporters: cop-killer, Mumiya Abu Jamal, terrorist William Ayers, etc.  These are people who do not have a benign view of American civilization.  They want to destroy it.  KGIA is backed by CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case.  Despite the fact that CAIR presents itself as a benign group, dedicated to assimilation by Muslims into American life, their activities and those whom they support, belie this benign appearance.

To all those who have read this article, and have come away with a sense that Ms. Almontaser has been a victim of injustice, I caution you to look beyond this.  Look to the fact that, although the City of NY claims that they have conveyed to Stop the Madrassa a list of textbooks that are being used at KGIA to teach Arabic language and culture, this is a bold-faced lie.  Thus far, no such materials have been forthcoming.

Mayor Bloomberg, in his arrogance, refuses to admit that KGIA was and is a continuing mistake.  And Dabah Almontaser, if not a radical Islamist herself, is a tool of radical Islamists whose allegiance is to Islamic Shari'a law, not to the Constitution of the United States.  These are not people to whom we should entrust our children.  And we should certainly not be subsidizing them with public education funds.

Wake up!  You will end up as dhimmis (populations conquered by jihad) in an Islamist world if you don't.

A British citizen who converted to Christianity from Islam and then complained to police when locals threatened to burn his house down was told by officers to “stop being a crusader”, according to a new report.

Nissar Hussein, 43, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, who was born and raised in Britain, converted from Islam to Christianity with his wife, Qubra, in 1996. The report says that he was subjected to a number of attacks and, after being told that his house would be burnt down if he did not repent and return to Islam, reported the threat to the police. It says he was told that such threats were rarely carried out and the police officer told him to “stop being a crusader and move to another place”. A few days later the unoccupied house next door was set on fire.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a British human rights organisation whose president is the former Cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken, is calling on the UN and the international community to take action against nations and communities that punish apostasy.

The islamified UN controlled by the OIC. Uh, yeah, you have a prayer.

Its report, No Place to Call Home, claims that apostates from Islam are subject to “gross and wideranging human rights abuses”. It adds that in countries such as Britain, with large Muslim populations in a Westernised culture, the demand to maintain a Muslim identity is intense. “When identities are precarious, their enforcement will take an aggressive form.”

Escape From A Brooklyn Mosque

Please read the following  article by Bos Smith, a Wall Street lawyer, who accompanied Paul Williams on a tour of the radical mosques in Brooklyn. They were snagged at the mosque of Siraj Mahaj by a host of Muslim Ninjas, grilled in the basement of the mosque, and barely got out of the place alive. What follows is their harrowing account of  Bos Smith's visit to a Brooklyn mosque.

Just for knowijng, if they went to my shul (or any shul) they would have been served coffee and danish. WTF is going on in America and why aren't we monitoring the mosques. Individuals doing law enforcement's job. Again.

ESCAPE FROM A BROOKLYN MOSQUE By Bos Smith

Don’t snap a photo of the Masjid At-Taqwa in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn unless you want to be hauled away by a group of angry Muslims in Islamic attire to the basement of the facility where a group of twenty “security guards” in karate suits will interrogate you.

This might sound preposterous.

But it happened on Saturday, April 24, at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Ali Kareem, the head of security for Siraj Wahaj’s mosque, conducted the grilling. A small, muscular man with a wispy black beard that has been dyed red with henna, Kareem demanded to know the reason why a trio of kafirs had dared to photograph the building on a public street without securing his permission.

He further insisted on securing our identities and obtaining our motives for such a violation of Islamic space.

Being surrounded by a group of militant guards in a mosque basement from which there is no means of escape is not a comforting place to be for a Wall Street financier.

We tried to explain that we found the neighborhood with its halal meat vendors and food stores; Islamic dress shops, featuring the latest styles in burqas and hijabs; Muslim souvenir outlets, replete with bumper stickers stating “Don’t Be Caught Dead Without Islam”; and Middle Eastern restaurants offering a variety of goat dishes to be rather quaint and interesting.

This explanation was not sufficient.

Kareem was impatient and did not want a detailed explanation of the reason for our excursion (simple sight-seeing) or a graphic account of the sights we had seen and photographed.

“I ask the questions here,” he said, “and you provide the answers.”

Realizing that we were in a bit of a pickle, my companion explained that we were interested in various religions and knew Siraj Wahaj, the imam of the mosque, was a prominent Muslim figure whom we would like to interview for a news outlet.

This didn’t work too well since we could not produce a business card from a wacko blog, let alone credentials from a national publication.

At last, we blurted out that we were admirers of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) and wanted to obtain information about conversion. We were even knowledgeable enough to blurt out “Salaam” and “Allahu akbar.”

The last utterance seemed to be the “Open Sesame” that got us out of the basement and back to Bedford Street, where we managed to take a picture of the mosque before hailing a cab and making a getaway.

The experience was disconcerting. Surely, anyone who takes a picture of St. Patrick’s Cathedral or the Riverside Church is not hauled off to a basement for questioning by a threatening figure in a karate uniform and a band of Ninjas.

What is taking place within Masjid At-Taqwa?

And what about Siraj Wahaj, the celebrated imam of this mosque who claims to be a moderate?

Masjid At-Taqwa at 1226 Bedford Street was an abandoned clothing store, which Wahaj purchased at an auction in 1979 for $30,000 with cash from oil-rich Saudis. The interior is divided into spacious, windowless rooms that have been painted green and beige.

At Friday afternoon prayers the meeting room is crammed with hundreds of congregants. Some show up in do-rag stocking caps and Sean John sweatshirts; others wear finely embroidered, authentic-looking Muslim caps and flowing robes of crimson and gold. About half of the attendees are African-Americans. The others are immigrants from the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. Worshipers range from Brooklyn street bums to the local celebrities, such as former heavy-weight champion Mike Tyson.

The place has played host to a number of notorious exponents of radical Islam, including Clement Rodney Hampton-El (Dr. Rashid), a key player in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Mr. Hampton-El is presently cooling his heels in a federal slammer since he was found guilty of seditious conspiracy. Mr. Hampton-El, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, fought as a mujahadeen under Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in the holy war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

Upon his return, Hampton-El was hailed as a hero by members of the mosque. Imam Wahaj has said that he was sought out by young and old alike for spiritual advice as an “elder” in the community. Wahaj, in fact, appeared as a character witness for Hampton El when the former mujahadeen stood trial before Judge Michael Mukasey in New York’s Federal District Court on charges of seditious conspiracy and attempted bombing.

Hampton-El is currently serving thirty-five years in a supermax prison for America’s most dangerous inmates.

 

      Bos Smith at Masjid al-Fooqra

Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman visited Masjid At-Taqwa on many occasions while serving as the imam of the nearby Masjid al-Fooqra at 554 Atlantic Avenue, several blocks from Masjid At-Taqwi. On the second floor of Rahman’s mosque, al Qaeda had opened an office under the name of the al-Kifah Refugee Center. It became a favorite haunt for members of Wahaj's congregation.

Rahman also spoke on occasion at Masjid At-Taqwa. In one speech, the fiery sheikh suggested that Muslims should rob banks to benefit Islam.

In 1995, Sheikh Rahman was hauled into court as the alleged architect of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and for planning to blow up the United Nations, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington Bridge, and buildings throughout Manhattan. At his side was his good friend Siraj Wahaj who provided testimony of the sheik’s sterling character.

In a Feb. 2, 1995, letter to defense lawyers in the landmarks-bombing case, then-U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White named about 170 people as "un-indicted persons who may be alleged as co-conspirators." Imam Wahaj was on the list.

Other infamous characters reportedly have made their way to the Bedford Street mosque, including Imam Gulshair el-Shukrijumah, whose son Adnan has been singled out by the Justice Department as “the next Muhammad Atta.” Gulshair, it turns out, served a stint as imam at another radical Brooklyn mosque - - the now defunct Masjid Nur a-Islam, at 21 Church Street.

Another visitor, according to informed sources, was Sheikh Gilani, the founder of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, who served as the imam of yet another Brooklyn mosque - - the Yasin Masjid at 777 Saratoga Avenue. This infamous mosque is now a beauty salon. From 1980 to 1995, it served as a recruiting center for the jihad and for paramilitary Islamic compounds that remain in existence throughout the country.

Since the time of its inception, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has been responsible for more terror attacks on American soil (30 and counting) than all other terrorist groups combined. Members of ul-Fuqra, which maintains headquarters in Pakistan, have been convicted in US courts of such crimes as homicide, conspiracy to commit murder, firebombing, gun smuggling, grand theft, counterfeiting, and workers’ compensation fraud. Others remain leading suspects in criminal cases throughout the country, including ten unsolved assassinations and seventeen fire-bombings. Some of the better-known adherents of ul-Fuqra are Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, and John Allen Muhammad, the Beltway sniper.

But what of Wahaj? Is he an exponent of radical Islam - - a man who poses a threat to millions of Americans?

He is a well-known and welcome figure in Washington DC. He was the first Muslim cleric to offer the invocation at the opening session of Congress. He has dined with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and serves on the boards of no less than five major Muslim organizations. He has received commendations from the Brooklyn police for eradicating crime from the Bedford-Stuyvesant area. In 2003, Siraj Wahaj Day was celebrated in Brooklyn in recognition of what one borough official called a “lifetime of outstanding and meaningful achievement.”

But the proof of the real Wahaj is in the proverbial pudding.

In one of his sermons, Wahaj announced that the "real terrorists" are the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency. In another, he said, "In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam." He proclaimed that a society governed by strict Islamic law, in which adulterers are stoned to death and apostates beheaded, would be vastly superior to American democracy.

To a Muslim audience in New Jersey, Wahaj advocated the idea of Muslims forming a coup to take control of the federal government. “If we are united and strong,” he said, “we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. Take my word for it, if six to eight million Muslims united in America, the country will come to us.”

His so-called “moderate” interpretation of the Qu’ran became clear by this remark: "If Allah says 100 strikes, 100 strikes it is. If Allah says cut off their hand, you cut off their hand. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it's the obedience of Allah and his messenger -- nothing personal."

Wahaj informed an audience of black women wearing Muslim head coverings in Orlando, Fla., that Islam condones a man's marrying up to four wives, and that this rule, when introduced in the seventh century, served as a restriction on arrangements involving even more wives per husband.

And there are the national organizations to which Wahaj remains affiliated. He served as emir (president) of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which has been charged with funneling millions to terror groups, and as an advisory board member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been labeled by author and counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson as a “radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas.”

All this may be well and good, save for the fact that Wahaj and his mosque retains a small army not of brown-shirts but black-belts who now claim the right to collar ordinary citizens on the sidewalk and to haul them off for interrogation.

You’re only safe in Brooklyn at this writing if you say your prayers - - meaning, of course, the Basmalah.

Obama's refusal to disown the Rev. Jeremiah Wright extends to continuing to use his name in campaign literature.

In this religious-themed piece, which was being given out in Philadelphia, the campaign quotes Obama's account of his 1985 embrace of Christianity: "I heard the Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright deliver a sermon called 'The Audacity of Hope.'"

When Rand Abdel-Qader, 17, told her closest friend that she was in love from the moment she set eyes on the young British soldier working alongside her in Basra, and she dreamed of a future with him.

It was an innocent infatuation but five months after Rand, a student of English at Basra University, met Paul, a 22-year-old soldier posted to southern Iraq, she was dead. She was stamped on, suffocated and stabbed by her father. Several brutal knife wounds punctured her slender, bruised body - from her face to her feet. He had done it, he proclaimed to the neighbours who soon gathered round, to 'cleanse his honour'.

And as Rand was put into the ground, without ceremony, her uncles spat on her covered corpse because she had brought shame on the family. Her crime was the worst they could possibly imagine - she had fallen in love with a British soldier and dared to talk to him in public.

Rand was murdered last month. That the relationship was innocent was no defence. She had been seen conversing intimately with Paul. It was enough to condemn her, because he was British, a Christian, 'the invader', and the enemy. The two met while he was helping to deliver relief aid to displaced families in the city and she was working as a volunteer. They continued to meet through their relief work in the following months.

Rand last saw Paul in January, two months before her death. It was only on 16 March that her father, Abdel-Qader Ali, learned of their friendship. He was told by a friend, who worked closely with police, that Rand had been seen with Paul at one of the places they both worked as volunteers. Enraged, he headed straight home to demand an explanation from his daughter.

'When he entered the house, his eyes were bloodshot and he was trembling,' said Rand's mother, Leila Hussein, tears streaming down her face as she recalled her daughter's murder. 'I got worried and tried to speak to him but he headed straight for our daughter's room and he started to yell at her.'

'He asked if it was true that she was having an affair with a British soldier. She started to cry. She was nervous and desperate. He got hold of her hair and started thumping her again and again.

'I screamed and called out for her two brothers so they could get their father away from her. But when he told them the reason, instead of saving her they helped him end her life,' she said.

She said Ali used his feet to press down hard on his own daughter's throat until she was suffocated. Then he called for a knife and began to cut at her body. All the time he was calling out that his honour was being cleansed.

'I just couldn't stand it. I fainted.' recalled Leila. 'I woke up in a blur later with dozens of neighbours at home and the local police.'

According to Leila, her husband was initially arrested. 'But he was released two hours later because it was an "honour killing". And, unfortunately, that is something to be proud of for any Iraqi man.'

At the police station where the father was held Sergeant Ali Jabbar told The Observer last week: 'Not much can be done when we have an "honour killing" case. You are in a Muslim society and women should live under religious laws.

I thought we liberated Ira. Read it all and weep.

'But the thing she used to like talking about best was how he praised her beauty and her intelligence. She told me he called her "princess".'

Despite knowing how dangerous the consequences of her actions could be, and the punishment she faced if caught, her passion for Paul grew stronger, said Zeinab. 'She never did anything more than talk to him. She was proud to be a virgin and had a dream to give herself to the man she loved only after her marriage. But she was seen as an animal,' said Zeinab.

'What they did to her was ugly and pathetic. Rand was just a young girl with romantic dreams. She always kept her religion close to her heart. She would never even hurt a petal on a rose.'

Last year 133 women were killed in Basra - 47 of them for so-called 'honour killings', according to the Basra Security Committee. Out of those 47 cases there have been only three convictions for murder.

BRITAIN’S 18,000 merchant sailors face a growing danger from pirates with links to al-Qaeda.

Attacks worldwide are up 20 per cent this year – and tourists on passenger liners are now feared to be at risk.

One of the most dangerous areas is the 1,800-mile coastline of east African country Somalia – where extremist militias with ties to Osama Bin Laden’s terror network operate unhindered.

A British skipper was seized in the area earlier this year and held hostage for 47 days by pirates demanding a £350,000 ransom.

And only this week the Japanese oil tanker Takayama came under fire from rocket-propelled grenades.

Around the world in the past year, 36 vessels have been boarded, with six crew kidnapped, three killed and one missing, presumed dead.

The modern-day pirates use high-powered motor-boats, grenade launchers and machine-guns.

British seamen’s union Nautilus wants the Government to review its policy on piracy.

Nautilus spokesman Andrew Linington said: “We are talking about sophisticated, organised, violent gangs, who jeopardise the lives of seafarers.

“The number of attacks and the level of violence are increasing.

“Sooner or later, there will be a major incident in the region.”

One notorious gang with terror links calls itself the “Somalia Coastguard”.

Mr Linington said: “Intelligence indicates gangs like the Somalia Coastguard have links to al-Qaeda.

“Unless there is action against these thugs, it amounts to a green light for a terrorist outrage.”

Skipper Colin Darch, 70, from Appledore, Devon, told The Sun in April about his 47-day hostage ordeal at the hands of pirates off the coast of Somalia.

“But our captors told us there were much worse pirate gangs around the Somali capital Mogadishu.

“They hinted that these gangs were linked to terrorists.

“One dreads to think what would happen if a cruise ship fell into their hands.”

How are the Brits handling this act of war? The foreign office has ordered skippers of warships off the Somalian coast to stop, yes, STOP detaining pirates and handing them over to the local authorities because the punishments they may receive will breach their human rights!. You couldn't make it up.  So, pirates can now officially rob and kill passengers and crew of any vessel they fancy with the blessing of our government (more here.)

Muslim cleric fighting deportation linked to terror group Daily  Record hat tip

NEWARK (AP) -- When he faces an immigration judge in two weeks, a popular Muslim cleric fighting deportation may have to counter claims that he confessed to being a member of a terrorist group

According to Israeli military authorities, Imam Mohammad Qatanani admitted being a member of the militant Hamas organization during interrogation in 1993 in Israel.

"Imam Mohammed Katanani was convicted based on his own admission on charges of belonging to an unauthorized association and providing services to an unauthorized association, for being a member of Hamas and acting on its behalf," the Israeli army said in a statement faxed to The Associated Press.

The U.S. State Department includes Hamas on its list of "designated foreign terrorist organizations." Anyone identified as a member or a supporter of an organization on the list can be refused entry to the U.S., according to Lucille Cirillo, spokeswoman for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. According to the army statement, an Israeli military court sentenced Qatanani to three months in prison and a 12-month suspended sentence, and also fined him.

Qatanani, who heads the Islamic Center of Passaic County in Paterson, faces possible deportation for not disclosing the conviction when he applied for citizenship in 1999. He is scheduled to appear before immigration Judge Alberto J. Riefkohl in Newark on May 8.

Of course the Democrats, handmaiden to the jihad rush to his defense:

Political leaders, including Gov. Jon S. Corzine, have expressed support for Qatanani, and the imam's followers have raised about $135,000 for his defense in recent weeks. They are planning a rally in Newark on the day his trial begins, according to Aref Assaf, president of the Paterson-based American Arab Forum.

As a Muslim trying to help America defend itself against the Islamist jihad, I am outraged that our government is letting us down so badly by cozying up to the enemy. I have seen this happen in my home country and in so many other places, but I never thought it would happen here. I don’t ever want to hear people asking me “where are the truly moderate Muslims” but the rest of us anti-Islamists are waiting (sadly and in a terribly frustrated way) for the next attack, which may (once again) force the “oh, let’s not hurt our enemy’s feelings” crowds to open their eyes and see the reality. I sincerely hope it won’t be too late by then. What I really don’t understand is what on earth happened to the Americans having the guts to stand up to evil? Why is America following in Europe ’s footsteps of appeasement? Is this what happened to all the good, decent and smart people who let Nazism take over, and then turned the blind eye to the Holocaust in their midst? So, never again is not really never again, huh? Is it too much relativism? Did Americans become too materialistic to recognize the power of destructive ideologies? It can’t be ignorance anymore since a lot of material is out there making the argument. Maybe faced with too much information and all the side effects of globalization, people simply lost basic common sense? I know the Islamists. There is no stopping until you all accept their rule. Of course, I’ll have to be taken care of a lot sooner than they come after you all!!"

MORTALLY wounded and bleeding profusely, Pela Atroshi covered her head with her hands, pleading "please don't shoot me, please don't shoot me". As her sister and her mother screamed, her uncle Rezkar Atroshi raised his gun and killed her. The family's honour had been cleansed.

Rezkar had already shot Pela twice in the back in the upstairs room. Helped downstairs by her mother and her younger sister, the 19-year-old Kurdish Swede was confronted by four resolute men - her father and his three brothers. The men pulled the women apart. Her youngest uncle then finished the job, shooting Pela in the head. The bullet went through one of her fingers and into her brain.

The decision to kill her was made by a council of male relatives, led by Pela's grandfather, Abdulmajid Atroshi - a Kurd who lived in Australia.

One of his sons, Shivan Atroshi, helped pull the women away from Pela so his younger brother could get a clean shot. Shivan, too, lived in Australia.

It is the first time an officially confirmed honour killing with a connection to Australia has ever publicly come to light, but it is likely there have been other Australian-connected honour crimes that have been kept hidden within the tight-lipped Australian Kurdish community.

Eating Our Own

Word up. I still don't understand what is behind this campaign to destroy fighters of the global jihad but props to Tundra for his post. What to do about this jihad business? It is here and must be dealt with. No unpleasantries or anything that would cause anyone to stretch a bit in their precious ideological niche (whatever the hell it is, if anyone knows).

I have seen the enemy, it ain't us.  It's like a huge diversion from the reality of the impending explosion.

Very curious, all of this.

Quite frankly, I read the El Ingles piece and I did not find anything in it to get very excited about.  He says Europe is heading for a dust up,  but that they will pretend it isn't going to happen for so long that when it does occur, if it does, it could very well be very bloody. He never advocated for genocide.

Not sure I disagree.  Of course numerous comments are being posted back and forth, the more salient of them suggesting that if people disagree with El Ingles, then they ought to voice their proposals and analysis. Lots of heat, little light ...

The fact is we are at war already. The jihadis have been waging war against the West for 40 years. It is not coming to a war, we are at war:  we just haven't paid very close attention to that fact. That luxury will soon no longer be afforded us.                                    

What do I think of all the possible scenarios? I think Europe will surrender to Islam. (I think  they already have). Period.

When you read essays such as "The Peace Racket" by Bruce Bawer, the author of While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within, you get a very strong impression that many Western universities are now dominated by persons, many of them Marxists, who have no interest in using Socratic dialogue in search of truth. Scholars such as Daniel Easterman have even lost their posts for not teaching about Islam in the way approved by Saudi Arabia. In December 2005, Georgetown and Harvard universities each accepted $ 20 million from Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal for programs in Islamic studies. The Carter Center, founded by former president Jimmy Carter, is funded in part by bin Talal. Such money can only corrupt the original intent of all higher institutions of education, that is, the search for truth.

In abandoning Socratic dialogue and the search for truth, the West has made itself more vulnerable to Islamic infiltration because it has in some ways become more like Islam. A congressional candidate appeared last Sunday at a birthday party for Adolf Hitler.

"I told (WNDU-TV in South Bend, Ind.) in the beginning that I'd speak to any group that wanted me to speak," Tony Zirkle, a candidate for the Republican nomination in Indiana's  2nd district, tells The News-Dispatch, adding: "I'm keeping my promise. I'll speak to any group. (The National Socialist Workers Party) was interested in the targeting of white people for prostitution."

The lawyer addressed 56 "white activists" at a meeting in Chicago, according to the paper, which published a photo that shows him standing in front of a large portrait of Hitler.

We counted at least three swastikas in the photograph.

The Associated Press says Zirkle compared his decision to address the American National Socialist Workers Party to George Bush's decision to speak at Bob Jones University during the 2000 presidential election.

"Some people are going to impute motives and say things that I mean, but many of these people have never even talked to me. So their ability to say what I intended is not very credible," Zirkle tells the wire service.

Asked if he agrees with the Nazis' racist ideology, the News-Dispatch reports that Zirkle demurred, saying "he didn't know enough about the group to either favor it or oppose it."

One local Republican Party official says he knows enough about Zirkle.

“The ‘R’ next to Tony Zirkle’s name does not stand for Republican. It stands for ‘repulsive,'" Chris Riley, St. Joseph County GOP chairman, tells WSBT-TV. "The Republican Party stands for two basic principles: individual freedom and government accountability. Nazi socialism and fascism is the polar opposite of those two principles so for him to align himself with this puts him at the opposite end of the political spectrum from Republicans. And the visual images of Tony Zirkle standing in front of a Nazi flag are nauseating and repulsive."

Last month, Zirkle shared his views on race relations with the Kokomo Perspective. "Right now I am not calling for segregation, but at some point if the situation continually gets worse we are going to have to address the issue in an honest manner instead of silencing all challengers to the present situation," he was quoted as saying.

The Federal Elections Commission reports on its website that Zirkle hadn't raised any money as of March 31, 2007.

Update at 9:47 a.m. ET: Zirkle received 30% of the primary vote in 2006, according to the Secretary of State.

Update at 10:14 a.m. ET: Zirkle says that he looked at the group's website before the event and has no regrets about his decision to participate in a party honoring Hitler.

"They represented themselves as being different from some of the other white supremacist groups," he says, adding that he spoke about the role that people of various races and religions play in prostitution and pornography.

"I believe there's a clear difference between racism and culturalism," Zirkle says.

Al Qaeda Takes on the Pope, The US, Christians, Jews

Al Qaeda. They keep crying about an anti-Islamic crusade. Nobody knows what the hell they are talking about. But if they keep murdering infidels in the name of Islam, if the keep up their terror attacks on the West, if they keep pursuing their crusade against the West -- perhaps  they will get their death wish and it will indeed become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Terrorism: Al-Qaeda attacks US and Pope in new video ADNKronos

Dubai, 25 April (AKI - By Hamza Boccolini ) - Al-Qaeda has released a new video attacking the US and Israel, as well as a photo display including an image ridiculing Pope Benedict XVI.

Both have been released on Islamic forums on the internet in response to the controversial short film Fitna produced by right-wing Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders .

The ten-minute video attacks the US and Israel and presents an historical review of what it claims their armies have done in the past 40 years.

The video opens with a platoon of American soldiers with a cross on one side with the inscription, 'Jesus camp', followed by a star of David and images of conflicts between Israelis and Palestinians.

In the background, a voice in Arabic, says "Israel wants to destroy us."

Trust me fellas, if Israle had wanted to destroy you, you'd be long dead.

The film includes images of Napalm bomb attacks conducted by the US in Vietnam and video images of dead babies said to have been filmed by Iraqi al-Qaeda cells.

The video's main argument is that the wars conducted by the US and Israel in the Middle East signal the return of a new anti-Islamic crusade.

Apart from the al-Qaeda video, there are images and photos. The first shows a star of David with a cross and a white dove and an inscription that reads: "Christians and Jews are terrorists and their presence is proof of it."

So I guess that means if Christians and Jews ceased to exist then we wouldn't be considered terrorists?

"The true enemies of Islam are the crusading Pope that Allah curses and the head of the crusading campaign, Bush," reads one caption over photo.

Photos presented on the site include one of Vietnam and another from Palestine where there are bodies on the ground, and another of US soldiers in the Iraqi prison of Abu Ghraib.

Another photo shows Pope Benedict XVI with part of his robe caught by a gust of wind covering his face.

In another image he is shown with a Nazi symbol beside US president Bush (photo) above a series of swords and shields with the flags of Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon.

Police on Wednesday, April 23, raided 16 locations across Germany, including homes, cultural associations and a publishing office, that were allegedly linked to nine suspected radical Islamists accused of spreading extremist material and recruiting militants for jihad abroad, authorities said.

Radical ...Islamist? Isn't that redundant?

The aim of the group was reportedly to encourage radicalism among ethnic minority Muslims and among German converts to Islam, police said.

 

The searches, led by Bavarian police, primarily centered on a community of Muslims in the city of Neu-Ulm, which has repeatedly been raided in recent years during anti-terrorism inquiries. Other locations in Ulm, Sindelfingen, Bonn, Berlin and Leipzig were also raided.

 

Suspected of sedition

Police said the suspects were between 25 and 47 years old, and all of them were German citizens, though most stemmed from immigrant families. None of the suspects was arrested.

 

The suspects were said to have used the Internet, as well as audio and video materials, for anti-constitutional pursuits. They were likewise suspected of sedition.

 

Last year, German police arrested three men in the country village of Oberschledorn, charging that they were plotting a terrorist attack. Two of them were German converts to Islam, one of them a man from Ulm

‘It’s too tantalising, since there’s no shadow of a doubt we will reject any such suggestion,’ Frances Partridge wrote in her diary afterwards, adding the savagely deflating rider: ‘Now I suppose Churchill will again tell the world that we are going to die on the hills and on the seas, and then we shall proceed to do so.’

Canting references to ‘peace-loving’ nations driven to take up arms by intolerable aggression were belied by the bloodthirsty reality. ‘Peace offensive’ is a term used with great pungency here; as is talk of the ‘moral effect’ on civilians of indiscriminate bombing. The one common enemy Churchill and Hitler had were people who didn’t want to kill at all. Pacifists and humanitarians were regarded on both sides as a pernicious threat — to be suppressed in print and interned in person.

The two chief evils Human Smoke addresses in most detail are both things that the Allies took the lead on: bombardment and blockade. Both were methods of war aimed at civilians. Both caused incredible suffering. Both were sold on a series of lies. Both did not work. The response in both cases was to step them up.

As refugees and civilian populations in Belgium, Poland, Norway and Holland faced starvation, Churchill refused to let food relief through the blockade. He told Parliament that fats would be used by the enemy to make bombs, potatoes used to make fuel, and that — less plausibly — ‘the plastic materials now so largely used in the construction of aircraft are made of milk’.

Unknown individuals steal, stomp publicly exhibited Nazi items. Police officer: They definitely wanted to destroy them

Vandals stole and stomped on items related to Nazism in a college exhibit about the Holocaust, damaging photographs of a propaganda poster and Adolf Hitler's autobiographical book "Mein Kampf," Police said.

Police were searching for suspects Thursday at Suffolk County Community College in Long Island, New York City.

Steven Schrier, a political science professor who runs the college's Center on the Holocaust, Diversity & Human Understanding, said the exhibit included Hitler-era anti-Semitic propaganda such as disparaging caricatures of Jews, newspaper pages, and other artifacts.

Suffolk County Police said vandals took some items from a display case Tuesday night and stepped on them or smashed them against a rock. The suspects apparently targeted materials related to Nazism, leaving other objects alone. "They definitely wanted to destroy them," one officer said during an interview.

The £100 figure has a spare head "with a kind expression on it," glasses and several changes of clothes.

NEW YORK - Israel's ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday called former President Jimmy Carter "a bigot" for meeting with the leader of the militant Hamas movement in Syria.

Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, "went to the region with soiled hands and came back with bloody hands after shaking the hand of Khaled Mashaal, the leader of Hamas," Ambassador Dan Gillerman told a luncheon briefing for reporters.

The diplomat was questioned about problems facing his country during a wide-ranging discussion with reporters lasting more than an hour. The briefing was sponsored by The Israel Project, a Washington-based, media-oriented advocacy group.

The ambassador's harsh words for Carter came days after the ex-president met with Mashaal for seven hours in Damascus to negotiate a cease-fire with Gaza's Hamas rulers. Carter then called Mashaal on Monday to try to get him to agree to a one-month truce without conditions, but the Hamas leader rejected the idea.

The ambassador called last weekend's encounter "a very sad episode in American history."

He said it was "a shame" to see Carter, who had done "good things" as a former president, "turn into what I believe to be a bigot."

What good things? Throwing the Shah out with both hands? Installing the Ayatollah Khomeini? 21% interest rates? I do not give him credit for the shaky peace between Egypt and Israel. I give Sadat and Begin all the credit. Sadat wanted it and he used the US to broker the peace and shake down the West for buko bucks for decades.

Telephone calls by The Associated Press to two Atlanta numbers for Carter were not immediately returned Thursday.

Gillerman said Hamas is armed and trained by Iran, whose president once called for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

"The real danger, the real problem is not the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; the real threat is Iran," he said.

Gillerman spoke with reporters from around the world at the Times Square offices of a New York law firm on the day Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was in Washington meeting with President Bush.

After Yaser Said allegedly murdered older daughter Amina in cold blood and then pumped nine bullets into his tiny daughter, Sarah Said,  he intended to flee the country (which would explain why he parked so near the airport).  What he did not count on was Sarah's super human ability to make a 911 call naming her father and pleading for her life,  the cell phone signal identifying where they were. Yasir was forced to move the bodies and his plan unraveled from there.

When he moved the girls bodies to a deserted part of the Omni hotel parking lot, Yasir was covered in blood and too far from anywhere to travel on foot. Someone had to have come and picked him up. Who? Who helped Yasir that night? Who did Yaser Said call on his cell phone? Who?  Have police checked those cell phone records?

Yaser Said made the lives of his wonderful, athletic, top honors daughters a living hell. This sexual sociopath raped them in their youth and beat them fiercely as a regular diet.

The legitimacy of male violence against rebellious women is by no means an extreme view among Arab Muslims. A columnist in the Yemen Times last week argued that violence against women is sometimes necessary to "preserve the morals and principles with which Islam has honored us." In Arab culture, where honor is prized and female sexual purity exalted, a family can be cast out if a female member brings shame upon it. "Honor killer" Yaser Said and his three younger brothers are very close. They take care of each other. This is as much a religious mandate  as it is familial. Muslims brothers take care of each other. I suspect it is Yaser's brothers who have set Yasir up in the Muslim underground. They have extensive connections and own real estate together in Texas, New York and even Indiana.

Yaser Abdel Said and his brother  set up a post office box in Covington, Texas (where the families once lived on a compound) on November 15, 2007, the same day that a separate box was being set up near property owned by the Saids in a small town in Shrub Oaks, New York.

There has been  activity at the post office box in Shrub Oaks  set up by one of the Said brothers on November 15, 2007 just days before the murder of the two desperate young girls.

One of the addresses that a younger Said brother is linked to is in Mohegan Lake, New York, that home is owned by a Muslim man who runs an Arabic translation company.

The Mohegan Lake home owner was one of the Arabic interpreters  in the USA V Al Qaeda 1998 case.  The Mohegan Lake home owner worked for the defendant Mohamed Rashed Daoud Al-Owhali and WADIH EL HAGE (who just happens to be from Arlington Texas, same as all of the Said brothers). The Arabic interpreter helped create a lot of confusion in the case for the defendants Mohamed Rashed Daoud Al-Owhali and WADIH EL HAGE

Three of the Said brothers have had apartments near  Wadih Al Hage in Arlington TX during the the same time frame --  the early 1990's and then 1997 to 1998 while Wadih was facing trial as a member of al qaeda.

The Arabic translator for Wadih El Hage's defense team, caused a whole lot of delays and problems with the translations of the surveillance wire taps in the trial of Wadih El Hage.  The translator is also from the same part of the Dallas Fort Worth area as Wadih El Hage and all of the Said brothers.

Yaser Abdel Said was in the same part of Arlington Texas in 1993 as  Wadih El Hage. They more than likely went to the same Mosque, the Central Arlington Mosque in Arlington, Texas  where El Hage and his family worshiped for years. It now calls itself the  Islamic Society of Arlington.

Wadih Al Hage was Osama bin-Laden's personal secretary in the Sudan prior to the 1998 US Embassy bombings and Wadih Al Hage went to prison (for life) for his part in the bombings.

Whether El Hage was a mediator or collaborator, evidence shows he was friends with many people who were later convicted in the World Trade Center and New York City Landmark bombing cases. On March 8, 1991, El Hage signed in to visit El Sayyid Nosair at the Riker's Island. Nosair was serving a sentence for gun charges stemming from the Meir Kahane murder case. Both El Sayyid Nosair and Mahmud Abouhalima were central figures in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and both have been convicted in that crime.

There are other unusual connections between the men. In January of 1992, El Hage was arrested in Arlington, Texas, for writing several bad checks. He was riding in the car with a companion named Marwan Salama. According to phone records from the World Trade Center case, Salama had extensive phone contacts with the World Trade center bombers in the two months before the actual bombing.

El Hage moved back to the suburban community of Arlington, Texas in 1997 and got a job in a local tire store. The family moved into a small apartment near the University of Texas and the children enrolled in a local Muslim school.   According to friends and neighbors contacted by FRONTLINE, the family lived a normal Muslim life, regularly attending Mosque and schooling their children in the Koran. "He was a hard worker, had a good business sense and was very devout," said his co-worker at the Lone Star Tire Store, Mahmoud Mazouni. "He became something of a religious leader, like an imam and sometimes led the prayers." 

Apparently,  Said has ties to Jihadis tied to al qaeda. That's who is helping to hide  him, the Muslim underground. It's no wonder Yasir told his wife, every time he goes to the shooting range, he is shooting an Americans.

It is more than curious that Yaser Abdel Said's brother just happens to link to an addresses in Mohegan Lake New York  and Shrub Oak,  New York when Yaser is on the run.

Shrub Oak NY is about 40 min ride via train from the Bronx section of New York City, which has 30 Islamic Centers or Mosques some with ties to the Al-Muhajiroun  (more on radicalized NY mosques here.)

There appears to be a  pattern with the Saids  of hiding their locations from public records.

According to a Dallas Morning News report, Yaser Said was a rage-filled, troubled man. Almost 10 years ago, his wife and daughters told police he was molesting the girls; they later recanted. He was not faithful to his prayers or his mosque. He was, it appears, a sociopath obsessed with female purity and willing to use violence to enforce his will. This kind of man exists in every society. But Mr. Said comes from a shame/honor culture in which this form of sociopathy is not only tolerated but validated as a positive social value.

What's more, experts say that while educated, urbane Arab Muslims don't practice honor killing, they tend not to condemn it, either. And not all Muslims leave this barbaric code behind when they emigrate to the West. In two separate meetings with members of this newspaper's editorial board, Mohamed Elmougy, a prominent North Texas Muslim community leader and Egyptian immigrant, defended violence, even deadly violence, against women and homosexuals. Though the term "honor killing" did not come up in either discussion, Mr. Elmougy explained that violence against sexual outlaws is acceptable to defend the family and the social order.

"The way we view it, we don't look at it as violent," he said. "We look at it as a deterrent."

Yaser admits it.  Two weeks before they left, there was a fight because Yaser found out about Amina's  NON- MUSLIM boyfriend. read the whole report. The cops should have removed those girls from the premises when the mother brought them back.

Well. When you have a community acculturated to the belief that women (and gays) who break taboos deserve to be beaten, even killed, out of some twisted concept of the common good, you can be sure there are innocent people enduring silent, anonymous suffering.

Rafia Zakaria, an American Muslim woman starting a legal defense fund for battered Muslim women, told The New York Times recently, that Muslims "are reluctant to look within to face their problems because it will substantiate the arguments demonizing them."

It would be preposterous to believe that all, or even most, Muslim men are wife-beating brutes. But it also would be irresponsible to ignore the cultural and religious teachings that create an environment in which females who don't behave as males command deserve to suffer.

And it would be immoral not to confront them.

The Said girls had a funeral at the Dallas Central Mosque. One imam talked about the primary importance of the family in Islam and of the responsibility parents have to keep their families strong. These are arguments used to justify honor killing.

And the girls spoke prior to their death of not wanting an Islamic burial.

But if a word against honor killing – or violence against women – was spoken in English at that service, no one heard it.

When Tissy [Patricia, mother of the dead girls]  met Yaser, he was working at a seven eleven store. So was his brother, Yassein. She and her family lived in an apartment complex very close to this store. When she and her siblings went to the store, Yassein, flirted with Tissy. He gifted her, made her feel special and this wooing, created a "crush". Yassein, asked Tissy to marry him and she said yes!! The following week, Yassein broke off the engagement. Then, up steps Yaser! He began the same process and told my brother-in-law that he was a college student, self sufficient and Tissy would be well cared for. They became engaged and the gifting process continued.

Tissy was 15.

He said he was in school but, I never heard what his major was! I am not sure he was actually in school! Yaser, was Muslim and I warned my niece and begged her to please read and UNDERSTAND Yaser's religion and culture. She promised me she would. She did not...I later found out.

 

Yaser's need to control was implemented immediately! Tissy took a photo album to my sisters house and showed them pictures of Yaser holding a knife to her throat!  Yaser always carried a machine gun, in his car! My sister was terrified of him!! She would tell me that she was afraid that he would kill those children and her daughter, Tissy!

 

Information from those who were around him more:
He was a sharp dresser...even if the children and Tissy had little, he always dressed very nicely.

Tissy, was the primary money maker in the home. He did not work most of the time!

All monies, Yaser made from driving a cab, was never to be touched by anyone!

Yaser went to Egypt, at least once a year.

Yaser, bought property, in Egypt, on the Mediterranean and had Islam and Amina a flat built...from ground up! He had intended to build one for Sarah as well.

Yaser told Tissy, when they had the two girls, they could NEVER date or, marry an American! Only an Egyptian Muslim.

Yaser, was very militant in his dealings! In as much, many were told that he had actually built an underground survivalist structure...this was on the property, in Covington. I went there the other day to see if  could find any signs of this...I could not! I tried!!

Yaser controlled most all the movements of the girls and when he could not, he had his son, Islam to spy on his sisters.

Yaser spent much time with his own family. They seemed to be very close.??

Yaser owned many weapons! Knives, guns and such.

Yaser molested my seven year old niece! He molested his seven year old daughter and his eight year old daughter.

Yaser took my niece, which he raped, to a firing range and told her, "You see that target? Yes, she replied....everytime I shoot this, I am shooting an American! This was only a couple of years after Tissy married him.

When relatives visited the Said home, Yaser kept away from them and stayed to himself. He was polite to my Mom but, did not take up conversation with her.

Yaser, had Tissy doing much of the dirty stuff! She lied to get government subsidies and told them Yaser had left her and the children. Not true! They learned of this and my niece was arrested for fraud. He was being hidden, by her, for the sake of getting monies they were not entitled too.

Yaser was cruel to the girls! Not his son but, these girls were scared to death of him.

Yaser beat Amina and Sarah...not Islam!

He smoked cigarettes even if it meant there would be little to no food, on the table!

Yaser Abdel Said plays everybody and the American welfare system, controlling, a constant sexual predator, ultra macho outward appearance, always claims to have a weapon (even if he doesn't) constant fear factor in his presence, non-communicative in groups unknown, classic sociopath, extremely dangerous, confides in his brothers very close to them, plans with them, probably not so much the son as he uses him as a tool, not an equal.

I am talking to Gail Gartrell, the great-aunt of Amina and Sarah Said who were honor murdered by their father, Yasser Said, on New Year’s Day, 2008.

Apparently the Aunt believes that the girls father who murdered them may be a terrorist.

Gail and the other female relatives with whom I have spoken believe that Yasser Said is “possibly some kind of terrorist. I was only recently told that Yasser always seemed to have a lot of guns, machineguns—they’re illegal here—but handguns too.” Gail tells me:

Family members gathered at the spot where the girls were killed on Saturday March 8th.

The girl’s own mother, “Tissie” (Patricia) Said, was not at the March 8th Celebration. She is the one who effectively lured her daughters to their deaths. Also not there was their brother, Islam Said, Yasser and “Tissie’s” first-born son.

You may recall it was the son Islam who found Tissie and the girls in hiding and convinced them that they should come home and promised no harm would come to them. Shortly afterward Yaser Abdel Said Murded his daughters. According to the article the family believes that Mr. Said is still in the area and being hidden by sympathetic Muslim relatives.

Miami Shul Set Ablaze, Burning the Torah

Evil is the house and the Jews are fair game. Nowhere is safe. The jihad is teeing up the United States of America in the next phase to  the world. I want to know the individuals name. I want to know if they were screaming anything when they tore into the shul, grabbed the Torah's from the arc,  tore them to pieces, then burned them.

Synagogue's rabbi recounts: Individuals broke into synagogue, tore Torah books to pieces and torched them

Unknown individuals set fire to a Chabad synagogue in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday, burning the Torah books inside.

 

Ze'ev Katz, the synagogue's head rabbi, recounted the event on one of Chabad's internet websites, saying that a number of individuals broke into the empty synagogue, took the Torah books from the cabinet, tore them to pieces, and set them on fire.   

Katz said the view of the burned synagogue was dismal. Miami police have commenced investigations.

 

Chabad rabbis in the US assumed that the purpose of the attack was to target areas in which large amounts of Chabad Jews gather outside of Israel. The rabbis also said that the majority of anti-Semitic activity that takes place in the US is perpetrated by the Muslim community.

France 2 has witheld this footage since late 2000 when the veracity of the claims that Israelis shot at the al-Duras were found suspicious. North Korean/Syria Nuke Plant was Plutonium

What was the axis of evil planning for with a plutonium reactor in its arsenal?  They have "spectacular" on their march to the eventual second holocaust. Condi was against removing this plutonium reactor, the damage she has done and continues to do is unquantifiable.

The Islamic jihad axis has terrible plans afoot. Bolton was right, yet again.

How could we begin to consider removing the NORKS from the state sponsors of terror list? They are the nuclear engine of Islamic jihad.

Bombed Syrian Site was Plutonium Reactor American Thinker hat tip Van

You may recall the pinpoint strike last year by the Israeli Air Force against a building in Syria that no one was willing to go on the record saying what exactly was being built there.

Today, the CIA will go before Congress and reveal the not very well kept secret that the site was a joint Syrian-North Korean nuclear reactor that would have been capable of producing plutonium:

CIA officials will tell Congress on Thursday that North Korea had been helping Syria build a plutonium-based nuclear reactor, a U.S. official said, a disclosure that could touch off new resistance to the administration’s plan to ease sanctions on Pyongyang.

The CIA officials will tell lawmakers that they believe the reactor would have been capable of producing plutonium for nuclear weapons but was destroyed before it could do so, the U.S. official said, apparently referring to a suspicious installation in Syria that was bombed last year by Israeli warplanes.

The CIA officials also will say that though U.S. officials have had concerns for years about ties between North Korea and Syria, it was not until last year that new intelligence convinced them that the suspicious facility under construction in a remote area of Syria was a nuclear reactor, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity when discussing plans for the briefing.

By holding closed, classified briefings for members of several congressional committees, the administration will break a long silence on North Korean-Syrian nuclear cooperation and on what it knows about last year’s destruction of the Syrian facility. Nonetheless, it has been widely assumed for months that many in the administration considered the site a nuclear installation.Just what were the NoKo's up to? It appears that because their plutonium reactor was shut down by agreement with the US and China that they were looking for another site to manufacture their bomb making materials. It is doubtful they would have given Syria any of the plutonium nor helped them build a bomb. But Israel simply couldn't take that risk which is why the site was bombed.

This thug funneled tens of thousands of dollars into Obama's coffers  in exchange for favors (and perhaps Obama's warm cuddly feeling towards  ME despots)?

Surprise guilty plea of Rezko pal Thomas Lifson

WBBM television reports that Ali Ata, 56, a close associate of major Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko, has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. The former executive director of the Illinois Finance Authority also stated that Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was on hand when he presented $25,000 in campaign money to now-indicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko, who then asked Rezko if he had talked to Ata about a job on the state payroll.

Although the governor denies any wrongdoing, this is tightening the legal noose around his neck, and threatens to further embarrass Barack Obama, who grew up politically in the Chicago Democratic political machine. Who knows what other information Mr. Ata might disclose now that he is cooperating with the FBI and interested in a plea deal?

Meanwhile, Arab-American Chicago area journalists Ray Hannania is distraught at the weakness this Rezko/Ata scandal shows in the Arab-American community leadership:

They were regaled and celebrated by the community leaders as the ones who were helping to empower Arab Americans in the Chicago area. Those who questioned their leadership were chastised, isolated and boycotted from Arab American community activities. They buddied around with big shots at "community dinners" honoring Gov. Rod Blagojevich and former governors George Ryan and Jim Edgar, but also strengthened bounds with controversial elements of the Arab American community who embrace extremist views.They said their success meant the success of the Arab American community...."
