ATLAS EXCLUSIVE: OBAMA'S PASTOR WRIGHT!WHERE IS THE KATRINA MONEY?
Back on September 19, 2005, Trinity United Church of Christ ran a plea for cash on their bulletin. They were directly taking contributions/donations for "Hurricane Katrina" demanding that the check be made payable to Trinity United Church of Christ. "We are not taking clothing or non-perishable items". JUST CASH....why not the Red Cross as the "Pay to", who monitored the money, where did all the cash go, who monitored Rev. Wright and his non-profit church ?
Due to the overwhelming response to the needs resulting from Hurricane Katrina, Trinity United Church of Christ is not accepting any clothing or non-perishable items. The church is accepting all monetary donations, however. Please make all checks or money orders payable to Trinity United Church of Christ. Write Trinity United Church of Christ on the "Pay to" line. On the line located next to the word “Memo” in the bottom left corner of the check, please write Katrina Relief. Mark your donation on Line 99 of your giving envelope. Thank you for your understanding and most importantly for your gifts and acts of kindness! (more here)

Pastor Wright, can we get an accounting of where these funds went?
UPDATE: It gets stickier (as in fingers).
The radicals by Mick DumkeWant to know how hateful and destructive the Trinity United Church of Christ has been under Reverend Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright? So much so that over the last two decades it's received millions of dollars in grants from both Democratic and Republican administrations at the federal, state, and city levels.
Go here for a sampling from the city of Chicago (which includes federal and state grants the city administers). Check this out! $1.2 M of that money was spent on "not clear?"
Bill queries,"TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST CHILD CARE CENTERS, INCORPORATED brings in millions of dollars in Federal, State and local grants every year, would anybody in their right mind set up an ex-wife or ex-husband to run "their" multi-million dollar cash cow when they were giving up the reigns (on paper) ?
What does she know?
OT but related: Hal picked up on an interesting factoid when reading the Church bulletin," What I found equally interesting is that on page 15 of the link The Trinity United Church of Christ was having an "Opt Out" Policy meeting for Chicago area schools to keep military recruiters out of public schools. How can they do this and still keep their tax free status?"

That's good investigative work, following the money.

With any luck the good Senator Jeremiah Wrong, er, Wright will be screaming "God damn America" from behind bars between license plate-making sessions.

Good catch - follow the money.
I'm wondering about the line that says - "Mark your donation on Line 99 of your giving envelope."
LINE 99?? Just how big an envelope do you need to put a singel check into??

Would be pretty funny if a table had that many jewish organizations listed for donating, and the holy man Wright embezzled for a mansion. Given who were supposed to benefit from Katrina money especially.

Aren't churches, since they're tax exempt, held to some kind of public accountability that the public can demand to see the books? Maybe we should just start sending the church letters demanding an explanation of how much money has been sent to New Orleans.
