War: Ecuador, Columbia ..... Venezuela

Chavez Warns of War With Colombia

"The Colombian government has become the Israel of Latin America."

Hugo Chavez, March 2, 2008  (hat tip Chadwick)

And Chavez has become the Iran of SouthAmerica.

War has come to SouthAmerica......... stock up on your lattes folks. Ecuador's president has ordered troops to the border with Colombia, following a similar move by Venezuela (Gd forbid, Huge Chavez kept his fat ass out of it). Clearly he wants escalation.

The Bush Doctrine is ALIVE, at least in South America ............ now for the Middle East.....

ECUADOR LEADER "LINKED TO REBELS"

Colombia has said documents found in a cross-border raid suggest links between left-wing Farc rebels and Ecuador's President Rafael Correa.

Colombian troops had entered Ecuador in a raid that killed a Farc leader, Raul Reyes, and 16 other rebels.

A good thing. The guy was a bloody terrorist of the first order.

Ecuador has expelled Colombia's ambassador following the attack and is sending troops to the border.

Earlier Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he was sending thousands of troops and tanks to its border.

A spokesman for Colombian President Alvaro Uribe told reporters the documents provided information that "Correa has a relationship and commitments with Farc".

>Love Uribe. He must have had the tacit support of the Bush administration - strong ally. So our men must be in the neighborhood.

Police commander Gen Oscar Naranjo said one document showed Reyes had met Ecuador's minister of internal security and that they discussed Mr Correa's "interest in making official relations with the Farc".

FARCRevolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia–People's Army (in Spanish Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia–Ejército del Pueblo), also known by the acronym of FARC or FARC-EP is a guerrilla organization with a Marxist-Leninist ideology. FARC is considered a terrorist group by the Colombian government, the United States[1], Canada[2], and the European Union.[3][4]

Earlier, Colombian Foreign Minister Fernando Araujo went on television to express regret that it had to enter Ecuador.

But he said that the raid about 1.8km (one mile) inside Ecuador was "indispensable".

Senior Farc commander Raul Reyes, file picture

After Mr Araujo's statement, Mr Correa said: "I have decided on the immediate expulsion of Colombia's ambassador in Ecuador (Carlos Holguin)."

Mr Correa also said he was calling for an immediate meeting of the Organisation of American States and the Andean Community of Nations.

Speaking on his weekly television show, President Chavez had said Venezuela's embassy in Colombia would close.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Mr Chavez said he was reacting to the "cowardly murder" of Reyes.

Cowardly? Seems damn brave to me.

Mr Chavez has been mediating with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - or Farc - to secure the release of hostages the rebels hold, and six have so far been freed under this initiative.

But he lamented the killing of Reyes - whom he called a "good revolutionary" - when he spoke on his show, "Alo, Presidente".

The morality of Chavez - a good murderer. That's our boy.

Chavez is itchin for a fight:

Chavez called Colombian President Alvaro Uribe "a criminal" and branded his government a "terrorist state," likening it to Israel for its U.S.-backed attacks on militants.

Comments

If we don't wake up the folks in this country that are NOT associated with known communist and socialist organizations we will have similar "problems" that Columbia and other nations are having.

Pat Robertson was right... why hasn't anyone killed this guy yet?

Ayn Rand at 100: "Yours is the Glory"

  • Aynrandstamp_1

  • Speaking to the unnamed, unchampioned, beating heart of her new land, Ayn was to say: 'Yours is the glory.'"
A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. What's the most depraved type of human being? Not a sadist or a murderer or a sex maniac or a dictator; "The man without a purpose." Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.

  • Life has Loveliness to sell,
    All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
    And children's faces looking up,
    Holding wonder like a cup

    Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
    Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
