LET'S PULL A HUMPHREY

Btw, did you know McCain condemned the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth for their treatment of Kerry? Oy Hard not to hate this guy.

OK I'll keep railing. How's this? Dr. Nancy (my sister)  suggests we do a Humphrey:

LET'S PULL A HUMPHREY

In 1968 President Johnson had eventually decided not to run because of the Vietnam quagmire and the prominent figures in the primary were Eugene McCarthy who won some states and amassed delegates and the dynamic senator from New York Robert F. Kennedy who it was said had a good chance of winning the nomination if he could add California to his wins and have that momentum at his back. This he did, but moments later was shot to death. Vice President Humphrey wound up entering and winning the nomination despite not having participated in the primaries or amassing delegates because he had the support of the incumbent president Johnson and party insiders. Let's do it too. Tell Cheney to jump in, W should support him and we just need party insiders I guess. Or can we never pull what the Dems do a la Lautenberg?

Maybe because the swift boat veterans were a bit disgusting in their treatment of Kerry. There was plenty wrong with Kerry's policies and activities not to start a libel/slander campaign against him, especially when he was in Vietnam while his opposition clearly pulled strings to avoid service.

And now the same group is suggesting that McCain is some kind of Manchurian candidate and that he wasn't tortured and kept captive by the North Vietnamese. So their creditability is out the window.

Focus on policy, not on innuendo.

Honestly, I know McCain is not your cup of tea, but if you want to hand Obama the election on a silver platter, this is the way to do it. While the Dems are going to be engaging in a divisive battle royale until the convention, we should be uniting and starting the national campaign. What you are suggesting is not "Pulling a Humphrey", but rather "Pulling a Nader". Mazal Tov - hope you like 4 years of Dhimmi Carter reruns.

Chaney is an Anti-Constitutionalist America hater. Moreover, Dick's loyalties are with the Saudis..........and anyone else willing to murder Jews.

Draft Bolton! (Why should Jew-hatred by the most important qualification for a nominee????)

Or see you on the cattle-cars......I'll watch on TV....safe in what's left of Eretz Israel.

Mr. Fenton, I'm a Kerry critic and 12 month Viet Nam veteran, v John Kerry, a 3 month veteran, who deceitfully manipulated the system to get out of a full tour. Kerry slandered every one of the several million men and women who served honorably in Viet Nam, and McCain defended him. McCain and Kerry co-chaired the final POW/MIA hearings and effectively ended all chance of any POW’s being returned. What kind of man does that to his brothers in arms?

Here’s a nightmare scenario: John McCain as president and John Kerry as SecDef or SecState. Someone needs to ask McCain if Kerry would have any position in his cabinet.

Yeah, Dick Cheney is a good choice, with Joe Leiberman as SecDef and John Bolton as SecState.

Cheney has my vote.

Obama, Clinton or McCain. We are SO screwed.

Any right thinking (pun intended) person would vote for Cheney in a heartbeat (also pun intended).

The trouble is just that:

a) Cheney has heart trouble and has already indicated his unwillingness to take the job.

b) The party insiders have decided to move left. They won't back any of the sort of people we would want in the oval office. They've made that pretty clear.

There are good people out there.

Hell, Rumsfeld would make a superb president.

The Republicans have bailed out on us. There's no way we're getting the essentials:

Tax and regulation reductions
Gov't spending reductions
Strong borders
Strong military build-up and defense
Aggressive pro-America pro-freedom diplomacy

No way!

The GOP establishment is solidly behind McPain, and in his absence would find another big-government, happy-face, go-along to get along Washington insider.

Mr. Song,

Are you suggesting that John McCain deceitfully manipulated the system? Whatever you want to say about Kerry (who gamed the system, if at all, less than both Messrs. Bush and Cheney), John McCain turned down early release from the Hanoi HIlton due to his status as a son of John McCain, Sr. so that he wouldn't break the rules of first in, first out. So don't tar and feather him. That's what McCain did for his brothers-in-arms - he stayed injured in a prison camp for their sake. And he served for 10 more years after he was released. And served at a higher rank than Don Rumsfeld.

As for the POW issue - you may recall that Dick Cheney was SecDef at the time and was accused of a massive cover up of the POW issue that was sparked by the first Rambo movie. You should also go after Bob Dole who was on the committee. Senator Smith only dissented from a small portion of the final report that some of the alleged sightings may have been real, but he signed on to the rest of the report.

Aside from McCain's war record, he has, at the very LEAST been asleep at the wheel for years on the most important issue facing this country and that is illegal immigrants.Asleep along with his pals,Kerry and Kennedy. Soft on immigrants.soft on interrogations of captured terrorist.I was not there when he was a pow so I don't know for a fact what he did or did not do. But I am forgiving of anyone being held prisoner,as to what they said or did, short of Collaboration with the enemy, thereby causing deaths of other prisoners.I believe that of John Kerry and his friend Hanoi Jane.Proven by vets who WERE there. So,I have trouble with that one. That one of McCain being in any sort of agreement with John Kerry.Uniting with John Kerry in any sort of way. Those are part of the reasons I don't care for John McCain. I will vote for anyone however, who is in the race for president against Barrack H. Obama. (and I thank God for the SwiftBoat Vets)

"McCain is soft on Immigration"

Soft???? Do you speak English? What is "soft" about a die-hard commitment to open borders and the destruction of the American middle-class? The only things that are not declining in Maverick's Arizona are pawn shops and "Payday loan" offices..........which are popping up on every corner.

Americans (unfortunately) will get the government they deserve, and it won't be very pretty.

I said, 'Soft' to make a ground-hog come out of it's hole and it worked.
