Illiterate woman to be executed for **witchcraft** in Saudi
And these are the moderates. From our friends the Saudis. DAILY MAIL: The Saudi Arabian king today faced international outcry over the planned beheading of a woman accused of being a witch. Saudi law punishes 'witches' by beheading them
Illiterate woman to be executed for **witchcraft** in Saudi BBC hat tip Mara
Human Rights Watch has appealed to Saudi Arabia to halt the execution of a woman
convicted of witchcraft. In a letter to King Abdullah, the rights group described the trial and conviction of Fawza Falih as a miscarriage of justice.
The illiterate woman was detained by religious police in 2005 and allegedly beaten and forced to fingerprint a confession that she could not read.
Among her accusers was a man who alleged she made him impotent.
Human Rights Watch said that Ms Falih had exhausted all her chances of appealing against her death sentence and she could only now be saved if King Abdullah intervened...
An appeals court ruled in September 2006 that Fawza could not be sentenced to death for witchcraft as a crime against God, because she had retracted her confession.
After that, the lower court judges re-sentenced her to death on the court's "discretionary" basis, for the benefit of "public interest" and to "protect the creed, souls and property of this country."

When I see stories like this I think about those photos of President Bush holding hands & kissing Saudi pricne Abdullah. And about all the extra "student" visas granted to our Staunch Ally, Saudi Arabia, post-9/11.
Thanks, President Bush. Thanks for supporting evil. Thanks for the lack of leadership that paved the way for president Obama, Clinton, or McCain.
Sickening.

This shit will continue as long as we love our cars and our adoration of nature so much that kissing Saudi ass is more important than anything else. And that comment doesn't even make sense does it?
Much could be done to curb the use of middle east oil, but the leftist progressives will not allow any domestic drilling for oil and gas, the building of nuclear plants or the further development of coal based energy.
I think there are simply too many people on this planet to continue providing for. If we all want the high standard of living then something will have sacrificed. Too bad it's our moral values that are tossed out first.
All sides are to blame in the state of human affairs. Human society is simply too corrupt, stupid and stubborn to ever solve any of the big problems in this world.
I suppose the best thing to do to maintain any sanity is to become completely apathetic. Works for me.
If anyone has a better idea, I am listening.
