I would accept him gratefully as VP, at least he would be in a position to influence that damnfool McCain. We need Romney in this fight same as we need Steyn and Emerson and Phares and Phillips and all the rest who truly understand what is going on. Romney for VP? It pricks up my ears, but I'm not holding my breath.

Main concerns: rallying a conservative faction in the GOP, with or without McCain's blessing; and the other potential big-digit bankroller, Mike Bloomberg. (The current issue of The Nation has an article speculating about a self-financed candidacy by him.)
