(IsraelNN.com) Libya became the President of the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, just 20 years after sponsoring the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, which killed 270 people. Libya subsequently paid restitution to the families of the victims as part of a major court case.
Libya's ambassador to the UN, as president, is required to maintain contact with all UN member states, including Israel. Libya currently holds no diplomatic relations with the Jewish State.
