WTF is wrong with everybody? These girls were murdered in the name of Islam. How is this story not huge? Why isn't it splashed across the front pages of every major American newspaper and news channel?
I am not getting it.

Most media has aligned itself with the terror force and subjugated itself to Islam (ie the refusal of all media to run those innocuous Danish cartoons.) And FOX? They loved a murdered damsel in distress (think Jesse Davis, Natalee Holloway, Stacy Peterson  on an endless loop- too many to mention). Is the 6% of FOX  the Saudis purchased enough to muzzle the network? It was one thing to change the coverage of the Islamic riots in France - but this is the United States. This is America. This is our country. NO ISLAMIC MURDER IN THIS COUNTRY.

Sisters, Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17, were each shot to death. Friends of the girls say their father was Egyptian and critical of popular American lifestyles. ""He was really strict about guy relationships and talking to guys, as well as the things she wears," said Kathleen Wong, a friend of the dead teenagers. "I'm definitely 100% sure that it was her dad that killed her."

The media won't even say what it is - honor killing (honor? how absurd).

Wong says the girl's father was verbally abusive and that Sarah, especially, lived in fear. "She's always told me that she was always so scared of her dad," says Wong. "Even at school if a teacher joked around like, 'I'm gonna tell your parents about this', she would like totally flip out and start crying like, 'please don't tell'." (Full article here.)

Islam must be demonized here. Islam is responsible for these cold blooded murders. Islam rewards such actions. They cover for the murderers. Where is the father and who is hiding him?

Why isn't Oprah running a series on their treatment of women? The average Oprah-watchin' American woman would care. Deeply.  At present, people don't care because it's another country and culture and "we can't tell them what to do" but this is America, baby. They were killed for being typical American teens and this should be huge.

What am I missing? Help me out here.

This should be front page news everywhere. However, are you really surprised it isn't? It is times like this that I am tempted to just give up and say to hell with everyone. But then I remember I have two young kids, so I can't give up. Damn it! I think it will take a Beslan-style attack on a American school to get our attention. Even after the mother admits running from the father earlier - she willfully stepped back into the mosque with the bodies of her dead daughters. If this heinous murder didn't wake her to the insideous nature of 'her' god . . .if her own son's betrayal, as he coldly and without hesitation defended this awful belief system while his sisters bodies cooled to room temperature . . .if all that hasn't brought these girl's mother to her senses - than she, along with her disgusting son deserves the hell that lays before them.

This has happened so often here in Holland..girls being murdered by their brothers, uncles, cousins or fathers. And just as in the States the papers keep mum, unless it reverberates too loudly on the internet We have safe-houses for battered women, where the majority of fugitives are muslem these days..It's what Hirsi Ali was taking action against, but Dutch officials are still very reluctant to handle this as a problem specific for islamic culture, even though dutch girls and women are hardly ever terrorized as these women are. The police can't really protect these women, because "a threat is not enough to lock a perp away, untill he acts on it" and of course the men making the threats aren't being extradited. It wouldn't really help though, I'm afraid, because the families simply appoint another male to execute the offending female
These crimes will never be eradicated in our judicial system. It takes draconic measures to take on these practices, and for that we are too wishywashy in the western world. Remaining silent while the "few" commit heinous acts is wrong and should not be done or tolerated.

But what is a "few"? There are over 1 billion muslims in the world. The dhimmi press likes to claim that "only 10%" are radical... even that super low estimate is 100 MILLION PEOPLE who want us to DIE for being born. It is THEIR MUSLIM LITERATURE (what they call scripture) that states "And the tree and the rock will cry out: "OH MUSLIM- There is a Jew behind me; come KILL him".

And yes, that is the "scripture" that ALL who call themselves muslims are supposed to believe...I'm waiting to hear them (as a MAJORITY) RENOUNCE such passages. Of course, if they renounced passages from the koran and hadiths that espouse violence or ways of evil against non-muslims, most of the book would have to be torn out and burned.

These are the facts, not "scapgoating". And if you want to compare anyone to nazis, compare the muslims, over 100 million of whom outright call for the ANNIHILATION of other people, and are ACTING on that call. Over 50 shooting wars RIGHT NOW involving muslims. Over 200 AMERICANS MURDERED by muslims RIGHT HERE IN THE USA in over 50 terror attacks by muslims (not counting 9/11/01 and 93 attacks on WTC). Before islam in the arabia when a man had a daughter he used to bury the little baby to the graund even dough she is alive because this was a tradition of them and they used to feel humiliated because of their daughters (Actualy there was the same stuation all over the world at the same time . I too was raised at a Muslim household and migrated to the U.S. in 1992. In fact, I lived in Afghanistan, and have first hand expierence with these types of irrational (for the lack of a better word) behaviors. I am not surprised nor is it the first I've heard of "honor killing", still one question constantly comes to mind: why do these people live in America? They say they come here for the freedom, Opportunity, and the American dream, yet they make no effort to let go of their most absurd, repulsive, and in-humane believes. It's sad to say the least, to see these beautiful girls die in such a horriffic, and spineless tragedy, but I hope that this would be a learning lesson to other Muslim teen girls: there are other options, you no longer have to tolerate these cruelties. Family or not, your life is the most important. You can't change their mentality, because they are driven by years of being brain-washed but you can get away from it, like I did. As a woman, everyday I am thankful to be in the States, where I chose not to tolerate and be part of this appaling culture.

So, Islam should be demonised... to lessen the degree to which "Western" lifestyles are demonised by Muslims... is that the reasoning and understanding given in consideration of the facts of how human minds work that I'm seeing here? I would like to think you refer in your article to the violent regions of the beliefs, as honour killings are far from the rule in every Islamic famliy, and I have met more than a few temperate regular folk who happen to believe in Allah and to think Muhammed is his prophet. Seems no sillier than any ideology to me. At least five-and-a-bit million civilian deaths throughout the world since world war two can be attributed to the US's defence of the "Western" capitalist way of life, whereas the number attributable to Islamic fundamentalism is somewhere vastly lower, depending on whether you count the legal systems of Sudan and Saudi Arabia as being part of the "body count of ideology".

Some people can handle killing, others cannot. Those that can, think ( whether correctly or incorrectly depends on the example you look at ) that it is a useful means for spreading their ideology. But it's a little unfair to presume that that ideology is shared by every human who habitually visits a mosque and practices Hajj.
