A Qatari consortium agreed to finance the £2 billion ($3.88 billion) "Shard of Glass" project, one of London’s most significant skyscraper ventures.
The consortium comprises the Qatari Islamic Investment Bank (QIIB), Sellar Property Group (SPG), Qatar National Bank, Qatari Islamic Bank and the Barwa Property Company; each will hold an equal share in the project.
The project near London Bridge, directly south of the city's financial district, would be Europe's most distinguished commercial property, QIIB's CEO said.
After investment was secured, SPG said it was confident it could expedite completion of the project by the end of 2011.

Why fight when you can buy?
That's the truth, lady!
The building is the ugliest thing I've seen, next to the plans for the new NYC World Trade Centers. Not to mention that the old Trade Centers ( peace be upon them) were pretty ugly in the 1st place.
But this aberration of the ay-rab plans, not only doesn't fit into the skyline, but what is there to see in that height?...but more gray steel?
And it only goes to prove, that big business and corporations have no loyalty whatsoever, to the nation, or the people they live amongst. My granny used to say "May God forgive me" - but Big Business men should be pillored!

In Chicago we're getting a 2,000 ft tall skyscraper (will be the nation's tallest).
It looks like a huge dildo.

Today, I woke up thinking that this tower looks like a HAARP antenna ( right there in their midsts). Look up HAARP and its effects.
If I were the Brits, I'd fight it tooth and nail.
