The French National Bureau of Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism has denounced a reported violent anti-Semitic aggression last Shabbos in Paris.
They denounced it .......... whew. I feel better
According to the EJP, a 17-year-old Jewish man wearing a Yarmulke was waiting for someone to open the door of the building where he lives, when approximately twenty young people described as being of North African and Black origin attacked him violently.
One of the aggressors, was a raid-haired man who did not cease swearing on the Koran while beating his victim.
The victim was saved by a Jewish neighbor who went out from his home at the same time.
A witness called police which arrived quickly on the spot and tried in vain to chase the aggressors.
The victim was brought in shock to the hospital with wounds at the face and several bruises on the body.
“We ask police to quickly identify and arrest the authors of this anti-Semitic attack,” the Bureau of Vigilance, which monitors anti-Semitic acts in the country, said in a statement yo the EJP.
UPDATE: I asked Sophie, our Atlas correspondent in France, so look into the brutal act of anti-semitism, she replied;
As incredible as it seems I cannot find any trace of this abject anti-semitic assault in French media, except on Jewish news specialized websites. I found the very same report, except on koranic incantations.
This absolutely dramatic silence of French media is reinforced by the fact these last days they were very busy with a ridiculous story of a man who received from Orange (former France Telecom that was privatized) his new password: "salearabe" which means "dirtyarabic". This came after a phone dispute with customer service and in any case is exaggerated. The French of Moroccan origin victim told the media that he was "destroyed"... and no words of Raymond, who got beaten by 20 guys whereas he was waiting for some one to open the door of his building because he was shomer-shabbat.
A Jewish family also got her car burned out in Brunoy (91), near Paris. They are the only Jews living in this small town full of immigrants. The father wears a barb and is persuade that it was an anti-Semitic act of violence, as in this case their car was the only one to be set on fire.
My boyfriend is a Jew and he just told that he would love to live in the US. He is very shocked by these recent developments.
