This is very bad. Very bad for Israel. Bodes ill. Every tin pot misogynist, Jew hating country signs off on an American resolution and Israel has no clue. It needs not repeating that this would never have happened if John Bolton was still at the UN. And to every Jewish Democrat that undermined Bolton's shot at a vote on the Senate floor, it is certain they will face the worst retribution. Chuck Schumer will burn (in hell.)
After closed-door consultations among the council's 15 members, diplomats from China and the only Arab member, Qatar — and some Palestinian Arabs — expressed support for the American proposal. But while the American ambassador to the United Nations, Zalmay Khalilzad, hailed the council members' backing, his Israeli colleague, Dan Gillerman, said he knew "very little" about the proposed resolution.
Israeli diplomats are usually highly attuned to U.N. maneuverings related to the Middle East, but on Thursday afternoon, the text of the proposed American resolution was handed out to reporters shortly after it was circulated to council members — but before it was seriously studied by top Israeli diplomats.
And how strange is this turn of events;
But Israeli diplomats, who acknowledged that they were in the dark, said they hoped the American initiative would not end up as a resolution — but as a so-called council's presidential statement, which is less formal. Some Israelis are concerned that a council resolution may lead to future council action, getting the world body more involved in the process than Israel would like.
This is a kick in the head;
The proposed resolution endorses the "program of action" that was agreed at Annapolis and calls on "all states to lend their diplomatic and political support." "I am happy that the council is dealing with this issue," the Qatari ambassador, Nassir Abdulaziz al-Nasser, who represents the Arab voting bloc at the council, said. "We have no problem with it," a Palestinian Arab diplomat who closely followed the council's consultations said, asking that his name not be used.
The Pali terrorists Are happy?
And our Muslim Ambassador has the temerity to say,
Among council members, "there was enormous support for President Abbas and Olmert," Mr. Khalilzad said when he emerged from the council's consultations, referring to the Israeli and Palestinian Arab leaders who met in Annapolis earlier in the week.
Note the order ... Abbas first. Terror gets respect!
The US has thrown Israel under the bus. And I point to the Israel/Hezbo war when Olmuderer squandered an historic opportunity to rout Hezbollah with the blessing of the US. He blinked. Bush discovered he had no real partner on the war on the global jihad and nothing has been the same. That war was an historic turning point on Islam's war on the West. The West blinked. Bush turned tail and went State. All the great statesman and thinkers in the Bush administration were gone in six months. And we are in a decidedly different fight for lives. I am sure Cheney would love to resign.
Worse, yet Secret ‘diplomatic’ overtures to Hamas were made by Israel hellbent on a suicide mission.
A diplomatic back-channel is intensifying between Israeli and Muslim religious leaders, including figures identified with Hamas. The aim of the talks, taking place with the full knowledge of the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships, is to provide a wider consensus at the grassroots for an eventual accord. While all eyes have been on preparations for this week’s Annapolis summit, talks have continued between senior religious figures on both sides.
This after: Hamas demands UN rescind '47 partition
Hamas on Thursday called on the UN to rescind the 1947 decision to partition Palestine into two states, one for Jews and one for Arabs.
The group said in a statement, released on the 60th anniversary of the UN vote, that "Palestine is Arab Islamic land, from the river to the sea, including Jerusalem... there is no room in it for the Jews."
Regarding the partition decision, Hamas said that "correcting mistakes is nothing to be ashamed of, but prolonging it is exploitation."
I am at a complete loss.
