VLAAMS BELANG: FREEDOM FIGHTERS Diana West

   One of the epic successes of the Communist and fellow-travelling Left in this country was its suppression of the Cold War in the popular culture. I refer to to near-total blackout on movies and TV that chronicle the primary struggle of the last century between Freedom and totalitarian Communism.
     In its stead, the Left engraved onto our collective consciousness its demonology of American capitalism, the CIA and suburbia. When that wasn't enough, there was always the Sieg-heiling, boot-clicking Nazi. And not just in World War II dramas, where he belongs. Whenever a hero in a plot needs a villain, there always seems to be a Nazi lurking. Where German Nazis don't work, there are South American Nazis. Where South American Nazis won't do, there are South African Nazis. Where South African Nazis stretch our credulity there are Religious Right Nazis. From Tom Clancy to Indiana Jones, Nazis are forever.
    And now, even as our liberties are no longer threatened by Communism and we face a new threat from Islam, we still seem to have Nazis on the brain.  Our liberties are contracting every day in the face of expansionist Islam, but it is still the specter of Nazism that distracts us--some of us, anyway.
    I refer to the very upsetting and undeserved Internet attacks--mainly being lent credence by the blog Little Green Footballs--on Vlaams Belang, the Flemish secessionist party in Belgium. The attacks allege that Vlaams Belang has ties and allegiance to Nazi-type ideologies and organizations. I find these attacks both sloppy and unconvincing. Vlaams Belang is not only the most stalwart, resolutely anti-jihad party in Europe that I know of, but also--and, not at all incidentally--the most pro-Israel party in Europe that I know of. In other words, it is ridiculous to suggest that they are Nazis--neo-, South American, Religious Right, or Other.
    Indeed, it is crucial to understand that Vlaams Belang's political opponents in Europe are the Islamo-Socialist Left, which is where vicious anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism now finds its ideological home. Vlaams Belang is fighting, virtually alone, the Islamization of Europe. For that they deserve both our gratitude and our support.

It is regrettable that the White power movement adopted the ancient symbol of the Celtic Cross as their symbol, but that does not mean that every occurrence of the Celtic Cross means that someone is involved with the White power movement?

As for 20 year old videos?  That's pretty weak, wouldn't you say? It’s almost like faulting Mitterand for what he said when he got his Vichy award in 1942 or 43. Belang has long since.

Most Nazis are frank with their message. Positively vocal. Neo's and oldos. Hitler's Mein Kampf and  Osama's fatwa on America are pretty clear documents. No need to search for itty bitty clues. Hitler would be turning over in his grave if Andrew Bostom was invited to speak out about Islamic Jew hatred under the flag of the Third Reich. I mean really.

Personally, I'm not ready to pass judgement either way, when it comes to Vlaams Belang. Have the Sweden Democrats been forgotten, or has the discussion turned to guilt/acquittal by association?

When it comes to anti-immigration and/or nationalistic parties, they will naturally receive the support of nazis and white supremacists. That's something I think you'd do well to acknowledge Pamela.
It's also natural for nazis and nazi sympathizers to want to be a part of such parties. That is also something I think you'd do well to acknowledge Pamela.
Charles and his lizards need to acknowledge that having the support of nazis isn't the same as supporting nazis.
Charles and his lizards also need to acknowledge that many/most/all of these anti-immigration parties are continually trying to sift out the nazi-element.
Charles and his lizards especially need to acknowledge that, if they were to form a political party, they too would have the support of nazis and nazi-sympathizers, as well as having to deal with nazi "infiltrators"...

The most important thing about these types of political parties is not wether or not they have nazi support or nazi members, but what they do when they find out a member is a nazi: Do they do nothing, or do they throw them out?

If having nazi support makes a political party nazi, would that make the republican party a nazi party now that Ron Paul has supposedly received money from a nazi? (Hell, some people claim that the US has been fascist since the days of Roosevelt...)
The LGF member Fjordman has written many essays and had a blog(not sure if he still has it) where he relayed news from Scandinavia. His writtings have been eagerly used by members of Stormfront. Does that make Fjordman a nazi?
Gates of Vienna, which Charles has cited from time to time, was also frequently cited at Stormfront. Does that make Gates of Vienna a nazi site?

I think the debate lacks the element of "discernment". But then, debates of this type most often lack that element...

The big lie is that NAZISM is associated with the Right when in fact it was heavily supported by the Left. The Nazi Party was the name it's driving force however was Socialism.

Clearly the unholy alliance is, once again, between Islamic-fascism and the Socialist Left. Case in point, Jimmy Carter may consider himself a "Christian" however he is a devoted Socialist. There are many who may consider themselves to be Baptist, Jewish, Catholic, Atheists, Secular Humanists etc, etc who are devoted Socialists first, their religious belief comes second.

The anti-semitic voices heard today comes from Socialists who use the tactic of labeling the 'right wing' as Neo-Nazis as cover for their own vicious ambitions; this is how Socialists in America are able to get away with calling the Republican Party 'brown-shirted Nazi' despite lack of any evidence to their claims.

Nazism isn't a 'White' ideology, it is a Socialist ideology.

Jews have more to fear from the Progressive Left because of the unholy alliance with Islamic-fascism than they do from any associated with Conservatism.

Socialism is the extreme supremist ideology, not skin color; no one labels Islamic-fascism as a 'brown-supremist' movement.

Socialist Nazi Party didn't kill just the Jews, but Christians as well for the reason that the State is God. Islam too believes that the State is Islam just as Socialist believe the State is God.

It is dangerous to accept the idea that should a 'white' person speak against Islamic-Fascism they are defacto Nazis.

The 'Nazis' today are Socialists and in Europe Socialism is in power; and reason why many Europeans have purged through Political Correctness all things Christian and Jews while at the same time embracing Islams invasion.

Socialist in America are following in the footsteps of their European ideological brethern by purging out Christian-Judeo values, rituals, words from the public square.

Examine the ideolgy not the color of skin for it is the ideology which has killed so many Jews or kept so many blacks in the 'seperate but equal' Slave Plantation.

The only difference between CJ and your garden variety socialist is that CJ has an anti-jihad blog; whatever pays the bills, right? The rest of the "lizard nation" is nothing more than the echo chamber. CJ says he is "in the fight", but he's like those liberals who say they "support the troops". One very important principle of Nazism that is often overlooked today is the glori-fication of unreasonable behaviour.
Hitler has become something like the secular version of the devil. That´s I believe why so many people are denounced as Nazis who are clearly not.
Some of the right-wing parties in Europe are ok, others are led by fools or even worse people. To distinguish them, I believe it is a good litmus test to look at their position on capitalism and thus the role of gouvernement. Parties that argue in favour of a small gouvernement don´t want to have too much power over others and therefore won´t be that bad.

I am just wondering did the QB let you know the play before hand or did he just throw the ball out there into double coverage without letting anyone in on the play...

In other words did LGF inform you he was going to do this based on his information (correct or not) or did just throw it out there without any debate behind the scenes.

I am not in the know or any inner circle for that matter and I am just some guy behind a computer but I think it does matter. Loose cannons can be just as bad a racist ones.

The Celtic Cross has been in continuous use for thousands of years. Once you start noticing them you'll never stop. But the white power symbol is symmetric and unadorned.

DanishDynamite hits on the critical point in this mess. You can't have a substantial movement without attracting a fringe you don't want. The Left lets their thugs attempt murder in the streets with iron bars and knives. If there's only one defining characteristic of fascists and Nazis, it's they're the ones in the street with the iron bars and long knives.

The Left never has to worry about its fascist problem because they've defined themselves out. It would be nice to have all the media, government, and academia. Man, suddenly I feel more screwed than usual.
