America, this is your government by the Islamists, for the Islamists. Your taxpayer dollars at work!
Salaam Alaikum: (Peace be to you)
Before the election of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), I had the honor of being the highest-ranking Muslim elected official in the United States. I am currently serving my sixth term representing the 21st Senate district in the North Carolina State Senate, and prior to that, I served one term in the North Carolina House of Representatives. Today, I am writing to you not as a State Senator, but as a member of the CAIR National Board of Directors.
Of all the Muslims groups, why CAIR with known ties to terror?
Professional, Ethical, Principled
I followed the work of CAIR’s representatives for a number of years and admired their professionalism, their ethical standards and their principled stance on issues of importance to America and to American Muslims.
About a year ago, I joined the CAIR National Board of Directors because I believe in the mission of CAIR in empowering American Muslims to be equal citizens. I believe in CAIR’s approach of enhancing dialogue with people of all faiths and beliefs. And I agree with CAIR’s approach of putting principle before convenience, despite heavy political headwinds.
I joined the CAIR National Board of Directors because I did not want to stay on the sidelines.
Today, I am calling on you to not stay on the sidelines, but instead to join me in supporting CAIR. The forces of divisiveness and discord are hard at work to bring about a clash between civilizations. They have branded Islam as their enemy. We cannot stay silent or on the margins. We must recommit ourselves to the cause of mutual understanding and dialogue.
Uh, who is behind the 9,677 (and growing) Radical Islamic attacks since 9/11?
In the past, we asked you for your support. And you responded. Today I am asking for your help one more time. In this blessed month of Ramadan, good deeds are multiplied over 70 times. And during these last 10 days of Ramadan as we increase our prayers, I am requesting that you commit to increasing your involvement, participation and donation to CAIR.
Zakat-Eligible and Tax-Deductible
Prominent Islamic scholars have confirmed that your zakat can be paid to organizations that exist to serve the Muslim community by protecting their rights. Work done by CAIR can be classified as fi-sabilillah, one of the eight categories of zakat recipients detailed in Chapter 9, Verse 60 of the Holy Quran.
Sheikh Ahmed Kutty of Toronto, Canada states: "I think it is not only permissible, rather it is also imperative that we do give our zakah to organizations like CAIR…" Your donations to CAIR are also tax-deductible.
Terror's tax deductible. Vomiting.
CAIR is a not-for-profit organization recognized as tax-exempt under U.S. Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).
Terror sponsorship is non profit? Now that's rich.
Additionally, if you donate more than $100 online before the end of Ramadan, we will send you a copy of the new book Islamophobia and Anti-Americanism: Causes and Remedies, edited by CAIR Research Director Dr. Mohamed Nimer.
We Rely on Your Support
In this blessed month of Ramadan, I appeal to you to help CAIR continue its mission. We have made progress and yet the road ahead remains difficult.
Oy, that's the problem.
If you donated in the past, please consider increasing that donation.
If you have not yet joined CAIR as a member or never contributed, do not let this blessed month pass without making an effort to do the noble deed of supporting those who defend the rights of others.
This is not the time to back off. The times require renewed commitment and your generous support.
