The MSM media would have to resort to faux reporting, outright lies to hurt America in light of the increasing flwo of good news out of Iraq. They would have to make up ugly propaganda against our delicious boys and girls. The media aint fit to lick the military's boots. The hatred of the good for being good. Summabitches.
The wire service AFP has been one of the more anti-war media entities covering the conflict in Iraq. And if more proof of that is needed, take a look at this picture of an old woman who claims US soldiers fired on her house:
The caption reads:
An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City. At least 175 people were slaughtered on Tuesday and more than 200 wounded when four suicide truck bombs targeted people from an ancient religious sect in northern Iraq, officials said.(AFP/Wissam al-Okaili)
Those two bullets that supposedly hit the poor old woman's house had never even been fired from a gun! What's more, the caliber of the ammunition does not match any in the US arsenal.
This story was ferreted out by several bloggers including Bob Owens of Confederate Yankee and the milbloggers at Blackfive. And apparently, the photographer has not been above staging his photographs in the past in order to elicit an emotional response about the horrors of war.
AFP has issued a correction - but without saying anything about the old woman (or the photographer) lying that the bullets hit her house. One more example of what blogs can do to keep the MSM honest. And one more example (if any is needed) of the inherent bias of many in the media.
