Interesting. Very. Especially since I lived in the bastion of intolerance, the "tolerant" city of San Francisco for eight years. When I left, I felt like I'd just gotten out of jail.

Also interesting is the Marxist's dependency on "theory", which is unreality at best, which is why it seems to permeate all college campuses like the plague. I guess political correctness could accurately be called the Plague of the Twentieth Century.

Consider, Adorno, Marcuse and that lot were the famous ones. I assure you with full confidence that for every Adorno, there were a thousand obscure mediocrities cut from the same cloth, and driven by the same, if not darker passions.

And many of them got responsible jobs here too, in business, academia, gov't, the arts, the sciences, you name it ...

Then, the tape (excellent BTW) does not even touch the subject of the next generation. The proteges.

Every one of them, and their obscure contemporaries, left behind a legacy of some one, two, three or more star students and true believers, who in turn went on to found careers, many in academics, culture and public life.

We've got one of that lot running for president right now. Do I need to tell you who?

In Marcuse's Repressive Tolerance, noted in the video, he says that true liberation requires the silencing of those who "promote aggressive policies, armament, chauvinism, discrimination on the grounds of race and religion, or which oppose the extension of public services, social security, medical care, etc." Otherwise one opinion is seen as being as good as another and we do not get liberation.

The problem here is that the concept of liberation, is an abstraction to which we will never get. The appropriate fallacy is that anything less than anarchy is tyranny! THis is how it justifies denigrating the most free and prosperous society to ever actually exist.

Awesome. I'm a politically conservative, religiously traditional Jewish college professor (Are you single, Pamela? !-)), and I'm sorry to have to confirm this, but what this video says is true. Now I don't have first-hand knowledge of the history involved - that's not my field anyway - but I have seen the effects during 18 years of college teaching. Yes, they really do want to destroy Western civilization, the flower of human history, which they bitterly loathe, while extolling the virtues of every genocidal, totalitarian, woman-hating, racist, intolerant rathole on Earth. See David Horowitz's "Unholy Alliance". The cultural Marxists control the media and academia, while teaching children perversion and America-hatred. How do we save Western civilization?

This is a very good analysis of the ideological underpinning of the "sixties generation". The bonding together of psychoanalysis and marxist ideology is dubious to say the least. Freudian theory is
fundamentally flawed: there is not a shred of scientifcally verifiable evidence that the "unconscious mind" even exists. Marcuse blended bankrupt marxist economic theory (look at Russia and China today), with Freud's twisted "philosophy of the mind". He was the "spritual leader" of the 1968 student riots in Paris which failed for exactly the reason this video states: The French workers didn't want to know. I've enjoyed this expose of the toxic origins of political correctness in the "Frankfurt School".
