Inconceivable that the Aussies will consider replacing the Great One, John Howard, with this weasel. Apparently so according to the latest polls. And Bush is taking a meeting with the asshat (confronted by strippers here) to discuss the fate of the free world. ugh.
Bush to see Rudd on Iraq Troops Aussie News and Views
UNITED States President George W Bush will meet Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd next week to explain to him why it's important for coalition troops to remain in Iraq.
Mr Bush will meet Mr Rudd while he is in Australia for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Sydney.
"I believe he's on my calendar. I will be meeting with the prime minister and I'll be meeting with Mr Rudd. I'm looking forward to it," he told Sky News in an exclusive interview.
"He doesn't know me and I don't know him, so I look forward to sharing my views and would ask, if he were to win, that he would consider conditions on the ground before making any decisions."
Mr Bush pledged to work hard to keep the US-Australia alliance strong, regardless of which party won the Australian election later this year.
But he would not be drawn when asked directly if he could work with a Rudd government, given its promise to withdraw Australian troops from Iraq.
"I refuse to accept your hypothesis," Mr Bush said.
"You're asking me to answer a hypothetical.
"All I can tell you is I remember John Howard has been behind in polls before and he's won, so certainly I'm not going to prejudge the decision of the Australian people.
