NATIONAL GUARD TO PATROL PATH TRAINS NBC News

NEWARK, N.J. -- National Guard troops, some of them armed, will for the first time help patrol the PATH trains, Homeland Security officials told NewsChannel 4.

You might see a National Guardsman walking along the platform with a Port Authority police office," said New York state Deputy Secretary for Public Safety Michael Balboni. "You might even see bomb-sniffing dogs." This security surge for the PATH uses a pop-up approach -- soldiers appearing randomly at stations all along the system. "Just trying to protect the infrastructure by placing a guard doesn't always work," said Balboni. "We need to make sure we have the ability to continually change things. This is going to be a really good deterrent for someone who would want to do harm to the system."

The effort mirrors a program underway at New York's Penn Station and Grand Central Station.

Bill writes, " the phone "pals" of  Youssef the Moroccan, (the 9/11 calendar guy arrested in Tampa), who he called almost every day before his arrest, live in Brooklyn on Clark St. across the street from the Clark St. Subway Station entrance, just a quick subway ride on the Red 2,3 Line (4:00 min) to the Wall Street Station in Manhattan.

Clark St. Station has acess to the whole subway system, also a great place to do surveillance from the Fulton Ferry Park (just three blocks away) of the Brooklyn Bridge and lower Manhattan across the East River. 

I walked around one day last year and took surveillance photos of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Clark Street subway station, inside and outside the subway stations from Lexington Ave to Canal Street, and nobody cared.

Well, they're NOT supposed to care. Those weren't military bases, nuclear plants and such. Don't look now, but more of our freedoms are being taken away. Now we're getting Soviet-style patrols in the streets. NOT for our benefit, because nopolicing can protect civilians.

Do depend on National Guards and the military for our safety now, means we are going to be treated like dependents: Children and servants of the Overlords.
