He also blamed 9/11 on Gays, abortionists, pagans, etc. Everyone but al Qaeda.

Dr. Falwell was a great man, and he leaves behind a great legacy. He was an unabashed "Christian Zionist" and an unfailing supporter of Israel. Though this world will be poorer for his passing his spirit will live on at Liberty University and in the lives of the thousands that he touched.
Ripper, if you look at his post 9/11 comment in context, I believe he had a point. When a country slides so low down the slippery slope to condone rampant open queer behaviour, the murder of 40+ million unborn children (hopefully there is a special place in Hell where Justice Blackmun is roasting)and the blatant devaluing of our culture to the point that darn near anything is condoned and we are told "we must not judge" we produce an environment where the numerous signs of the impending 9/11 attack either went unreported (because people feared being labeled as judgemental, biased or racist) or politicians like those in the Justice Dept. that put more stock in covering Bubba's posterior that the harm they where doing by erecting the wall between law enforcement & intelligence you have a climate where such an event could happen. Yes, al Queda did the actual deed, but they had a lot of unwitting accomplices.
If all of you would say a prayer for Dr. Falwell's family and friends I would appreciate it.

I am surprised that Pamela would assert
"Israel has lost a true friend and supporter." of a man who said “I do not believe that God answers the prayer of any unredeemed Gentile or Jew.”
Oh yeah, I forgot. He didn't much care for teh brown people.
Falwell on Brown v. Board of Education: “If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would never have been made…. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”
A line of distinction...he makes racism seem almost dignified...
Rest in peace, Reverend Falwell.

The liberal reaction to the death of Falwell has been disgusting.
You can see just some of what they have been saying here. Be warned, some of the comments are very disgusting and profane.
And these are the less offensive ones.

Ripper, et al....I was going to make some harsh remarks re your posts but I think I will let a higher power handle your kind.

Pamela, you have class! I really appreciate you showing honor to Rev. Falwell. As a Christian Zionist, I am learning to appreciate the beauty of Judaism on so many levels. In this instance, showing respect for those who have passed. It is forbidden to speak ill of the dead. We remember their great accomplishments and their contributions to our world. No individual is perfect and with everyone we can find some level of disagreement. Rev. Falwell obeyed the Holy Scriptures to the best of his understanding and because of this He honored G*d's mandate to bless Israel. He was a friend to Israel and a great American to the very best of his ability and understanding.

Mighty Christian of you! What exactly is "my kind" anyway? Also did Falwell say that 9/11 occurred because of abortion, gays, People For The American Way, etc.? That sounds a lot like Dinesh D'Souza, Pat Buchanan and is not far from lunatic Ron Paul and his acolytes.

Thrawn...I was always taught that if you can't speak well of the dead, then keep you damn mouth shut.

According to Falwell the anti-Christ is already living among us, and he is an adult male Jew.
With comments like these, I am afraid Mr.Falwell is not resting in peace. I sense he will cycle through again until he gets it right. The message Mr. Falwell, is to love one another.

Since Falwell is enjoying his eternal life somewhere, though not where he thought it would be, he's not really dead, and thus it's perfectly fine to speak ill of him.
Besides, he'd do the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot.

The wagoneer is right. I wouldn't speak ill of the dead, but since that was never a tenet Falwell abided by, it's kind of hypocritical for him to expect other people to afford him the dignity that he wouldn't give the dead.

It is you who loses dignity when you speak ill of the dead. It is part of having respect for yourself that you do not denigrate a man who has died.

My mother taught me to always say good things about those who have passed on. So... Jerry Falwell is dead. Good
