IMUS: Racist, Jewhating Darling of the Left
No Imus won't be fired folks. Kerry was his candidate. The decadent left has no morality, no ethics, no standards. They cover for each other and answer to no one. Morally bankrupt on every level.
Don Imus' timing couldn't have been worse. The uproar over his comments about the mostly black Rutgers University women's basketball team being "nappy-headed hos" comes only a few weeks before the annual meeting of General Electric, the parent company of MSNBC.
NBC News: "Addressing Imus' argument that his intention wasn't to be racially insensitive, Sharpton said he believed the more important issue was regulating hateful speech on the nation's airwaves." Irwin writes;
Al Sharpton is a schmuck. I hate him. Can I say that on the nation's airwaves, and if so, does such an opinion need to be "regulated"? And if so, by whom, and how? And who else's opinions need to be "regulated"? How about Sharpton's? Or is he exempt on racial grounds?
I hate him too.
At one point, the exchange between Imus, Sharpton and a female caller grew testy. Imus became frustrated and exclaimed, "I can't get anywhere with you people." "What do you mean by 'you people'?" Sharpton said.
Here is the actual site with audio of the show too, in case someone thinks the quotes could be out of context. hat tip Steve

I heard what Imus said through, I think Hot Air, or some other internet site. Let me just say that although I may be a white male in the Northwest with both parents from the South, to hear him make those kind of comments about young African-American scholar athletes who have put themselves through quite a bit to get to the level they have... I'd deck his nice pretty-boy face over and over again like I was Jack Bauer.
To parody John Edwards: "NOT IN OUR AMERICA" do you divide America into "Two Americas"!!!

I guess I need to close the italics

The very thought of Al 'Tawana Brawley' Sharpton censuring anyone should make the whole world gag...also, if you want to hear great language just walk down lower Amsterdam Ave. in NYC any day when MLK High School lets out and listen to the language that comes out of the girls that attend school there...Imus will sound tame after that.

Come on now,
Are you really going to purport that Imus is left-wing, or a Democrat, or supported by progressives? That is just absurd. Do you really expect anybody who has ever listened to more that 3 seconds of Imus to believe that?
If your sole rationale for him being a leftie is that he doesn't support Bush, then by logical extention you must be saying that 70% of America is Democratic. Of course, these days that may be be closer to the truth.

the guy is a comedian...not a politician...not a journalist...a comedian. and not even a comedian on an angry rant...just a comedian who admits he stepped on his schtick. again. he busts on every race, creed, political viewpoint, even body type. he trys to bait reporters into saying something stupid. he calls cheney a war criminal and then calls hillary satan. he calls his own wife a ho. this blog is accusing him of being a leftie, yet he got ripped for tearing into clinton at the correspondents dinner some time ago. he's a f'ing shock jock. by definition his job is to shock. and he is good enough at it that he gets 15 million listeners every day. and when he gets back on the air he will still get 15 million listeners everyday. the faux indignation is laughable. jesse jackson, who called nyc himey-town is calling for him to be fired. give me a break. you don't like it, don't listen. let the free-market work...or does the right only consider the free-market to be viable for oil companies and enron? i personally think ann coulter and sean hannity and rush limbaugh, and other hate-mongers disguised as comedians like them, ought to be taken off the air. but as long as people tune in they won't be. you don't like it don't listen. or watch. but enough of the pretending.

You missed my point jay k. Read the headline. There is no accountability on the left. NONE.
They do and say anything they want but scream MACACCA!

pam...
you miss the point.
first...allen is a politician. and his comment was a slur based in hate. and he denied it. then he said he didn't know what it means. then he said six other excuses to avoid accountibility. all from his office with a noose and a confederate flag.
second...how do you get imus is a darling of the left? i am an independent that leans left on social issues and right (but not bushs version of right) on fiscal issues. and imus infuriates me. i'm betting he infuriates the right too. that's what a shock jock does...shock to attract attention. (it's also exactly what ann coulter does but she's only half as smart and twice as sleazy.) imus doesn't care who he shocks as long as he has 15 million listeners every morning.
free-market...you don't like it don't listen.

"Darling of the left"? What are you smoking? Hate-mongering and racism make people darlings of the right, not the left.

jay k...If Imus has 250-300K in his audience he is extremely lucky...check Variety for the accuracy of this quote...plus, in New York City 1010 WINS, the all new station, outrates him almost 10 to 1.
Posted by: DoctorDentons | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 01:59 PM
doc...
i'm sure you are right. the only number i found was 90k+ for nyc radio alone...plus he's on over 60 stations...plus msnbc. the 15m comes from what i've heard him say on the air, so i'm sure it's an exaggeration...put whatever number you want in my posts above...it doesn't change my point.

Don Imus
Darling of the left? Anyone who really wants to find can do this check both DU and Free Republic, us DUmmies did not like Imus even when he "supported" Kerry, so now Pam will say this PROVES leftists are racist, but Pam why is it then that 90% of Blacks vote Democrat?

I understand why you'd want to think that Imus is a darling of the Left. It simply isn't true.
But hey, don't take my word for it. Go to dailykos.com or huffingtonpost.com , or the liberal website of your choice, and search for "Imus". See how many times he's mentioned before his latest case of foot-in-mouth disease.
http://www.dailykos.com/search
In the search I just did, Dennis Miller is mentioned more. He must be a real Left-wing darling, huh?
I'm also remembering a press club dinner when Clinton was president, and Imus appeared and basically insulted Bill and Hillary almost non-stop, right in front of them. If that makes him Leftist, then Jon Stewart must be a right-wing conservative.
Come on. He's a conservative and he stands revealed as an embarassment. Face facts. It's bad for the ego, but in the long run it's good for the soul.

Oooooh, Imus is the "darling of the left"!! That's just so clever! See, anyone who acknowledges that Bush is a babbling half-wit and a petulant frat boy is clearly a Communist. Of course the Democratic Party is the bastion of Jew-hatred in the United States (which clearly accounts for the fact that only EIGHTY-SEVEN PERCENT of Jews voted for Democrats in the last election.) And we all know that the political home of every racist, queer-baiting, wetback hunting religious fanatic and assorted other human trash is the Democratic Party, not the Republicans. Yup, clearly this is just the type of subtle, intelligent propaganda that will help distract the electorate from the recognition that the most vital challenge facing our way of life is washing away the foul stink of Republicanism from every fiber of the U.S. political process.

i'm sure the confusion of don imus being a darling of the left is somehow rooted in the idea of a blog that supports todays republican party being named after an ayn rand book. talk about conflicted.
Posted by: jay k. | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 05:10 PM
Imus is a Republican. He's one of the 40+% of Republicans who is fed up with the Bush Administration. That doesn't make him a Democrat or a darling of the left.

Any responses to the numerous posts logically proving that Imus is not the darling of the Left?
A true believer in the principles of Objectivism would either disprove these posts, or have no problem admitting they were wrong.

Sorry but IMUS is no JewHating darling of the Left.
You forget how IMUS last Fall, supported and pandered to Joe Lieberman over and over and over. He had him on numerous times, fawning over him and ridiculing Ned Lamont, true Progressive.
Imus does not hate jews. He does however hate females, and hates blacks. Funny how he didn't call Rugers MEN nor any other black tatooed men players nappy headed jiggaboos!
