"Look, these guys have lied to us so much, I've even lost confidence in the military," said Murtha.

Murtha said he and House Appropriations Chairman Obey are discussing options for passing a new bill. Murtha is recommending a two-month stopgap bill but acknowledged that plan has problems. "If we're not careful, you bump against the [August] recess," he said. But he prefers that approach to hold the White House more accountable for its handling of the war. "Look, these guys have lied to us so much, I've even lost confidence in the military," said Murtha, a retired Marine colonel with ties to the Pentagon. He said there is no agreement among House Democrats, however.

Congressman Murtha has made some troubling comments in the past few months, (here, here, and here) but this seems to be at another level.

I've been thinking...what I've come up with is a hypothesis of why the Democrats and liberals are so anxious to call it quits in the war on terror, and the reason is history. Specifically, the history of the favorite country of the liberals - France.

France has been around for a few thousand years and it has lost countless wars - and yet, they exist. The liberals have convinced themselves that losing a few wars will not damage a country. On the contrary, the result is an enlightened state, with nationalized health care, 9 weeks of mandated vacation per year, a mandated 35 hour work week, and (sigh*) a new Paris.

The theory of existence is "We lost Vietnam, we can lose the war on terror, and we will be better for it." That's my hypothesis, the result of trying to get into the mind of a liberal...now pardon me while I make an appointment for a CAT scan - I think something is damaged in my cranial dome.

I just watched the a**hat debate.

I wished I saw this vlog before the debate.

Let me tell you very bluntly the only one who one day just might get it is Barrack Obama. Joe Biden, let's try one year next decade.

The rest of 'em I have no hope. John Edwards is a poser, Hillary's a spinster's spinster (and I know spin), Kucinch and that Alaskan ex-Senator are genuine... retreat and defeaters who deny the GWOT.

I think we should Barrack a copy of America Alone and if he reads it and passes a quiz - give him $100. Do the same with Looming Tower (which I'm about to read and Hugh Hewitt has pushed as much - okay, almost as much - as his book on Mitt!) and the 9/11 report. Get him on board and have (faint) hope for the best. But he'll probably be a poser as some 24 Prez Palmer wanna-be :-(.
