9/11: What Berger Stole and Why
If you missed David Asman's special this weekend, Socks, Scissors, Paper: The Sandy Berger Caper, write to FOX and ask for a rebroadcast. It was MUST SEE. Berger was depraved in his actions, stealing classified 9/11 documents during the decidedly partisan 9/11 commission hearings.
This FOX News investigation hosted by David Asman reveals the untold details of Berger's caper and includes an exclusive interview with the first investigator on the case, who is speaking out on television for the first time.
It is unbelievable that Berger is not in jail, has not taken the promised lie detector test as part of his plea deal and will receive his clearance again at the end of his three year sentence. What did he take and why? AND WHO DID HE KEEP CALLING WHILE STEALING ALL THESE DOCS?
AJ over at the Strasphere thinks Clinton's CIA may have known about 9/11. I kid you not. The French Newspaper Le Monde has discovered that France had evidence of Bin Laden's hijacking plans as ealry as the summer of 2000 and was informing the CIA of the news. Interestingly enough this could explain what Sandy Bergler was willing to risk jail time over in his shredding activities. Go here for the full story hat tip JammieWearingFool
France’s Le Monde newspaper said it had obtained 328 pages of classified documents on Osama bin Laden’s terror network that were drawn up by the French foreign intelligence service, the DGSE, between July 2000 and October 2001.
Emphasis mine. The way the government works is material is ‘drawn up’ after it has been analyzed and vetted. This puts the evidence coming out possibly early 2000. Now by coincidence this is the time frame the infamous Richard Clark document was being passed around the NSC for comment - the same document which Sandy Bergler stole from the National Archives and shredded in his office. It would make sense that whatever the French detected not only did they pass it on to Clinton’s CIA, but our CIA probably detected it too! So I would wager the smoking gun Sandy Bergler risked serious jail time to destroy was something having to do with early warnings of a Bin Laden plot to highjack airlines, sourced or confirmed by the French. I see a strong need for an investigation of how this information was processed and distributed within our government and between administrations.
Le Monde reported that the documents included a note dated Jan. 5, 2001, which said al-Qaida had been working on a hijacking plot for months. The intelligence note reported that bin Laden had attended a meeting in Afghanistan in October 2000, where a final decision to carry out the plot was taken, the newspaper said.

The newspaper said the DGSE report was passed on to the CIA chief in Paris, as was all information about possible threats to American interests.

My favorite part of the program was when Berger went in front of microphones and said "I made an honest mistake".
Honest my ass, he's been convicted of lying, and God knows what else. Honest? Perfect fit for a Clinton appointee.

This bastard Berger should be in prison. Historically, we have no royalty in this country, but by the actions of the Justice Department under John Ashcroft, whom I respect deeply, Mr. Ashcroft screwed up royally by not prosecuting Berger to fullest extent of the law.
If this was someone other than a former high government official, his or her ass would be incarcerated with a felony conviction.
This is really demoralizing to people who have clearances and serve this country faithfully.

Berger may have gotten copies out of the archives, but the CIA will have the originals. Unless they also destroyed it.
WTF that Berger will EVER get any clearance again? The man should be serving life without parole in a supermax with no communication privileges. Treason at the highest levels is the most damaging.

Dear Pamela;
I hate to sound pessimistic, but probably nothing bad is going to happen to Berger, or Pelosi. Just like nothing bad ever happened to Bill Clinton, or Ted Kennedy.
Now if you, or I , or any other Republican/Conservative did anything close to what these people did, we'd be in the Big House for sure.
Sincerely;
EJO
