The Islamic Republic of France
Did you know this? France is opening a branch of the Louvre in Abu Dhabi. Makes perfect sense. We know what an appreciation for the arts Islam has. Ah yes, Islam lives for western art and culture. Right Dinesh? hat tip Lucas
Louvre goes franchise with Abu Dhabi outlet
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- France's storied Louvre museum, home to priceless artworks such as the "Mona Lisa," said Tuesday that it will open a new Louvre in this Persian Gulf boomtown, prompting outcries from some who accuse the museum of shilling France's patrimony for $1.3 billion in oil money.
The 30-year agreement, signed by French Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres and the head of Abu Dhabi's tourism authority, Sheik Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, opens the way for the Louvre Abu Dhabi to display thousands of works from some of France's best museums, such as the Louvre, the
The works will be housed in a huge museum designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, which will be erected on the Abu Dhabi waterfront, opening sometime after 2012.
Abu Dhabi's rulers are positioning the Louvre as the centerpiece of a cultural district expected to attract millions of well-heeled tourists and diversify its oil-dominated economy.
Donnedieu de Vabres said the venture represents the globalization of French culture, the first step in a long-term cooperation with the wealthy Persian Gulf region. He promised the Paris Louvre would not sell any of its collection, nor would the deal weaken France's cultural policy or its museums. Read it all here
and there is more here at Gulf news!
And if there was any doubt that France was turning into an oppressive Islamic state, look no further than this totalitarian action. French solution to massive Muslim violence:
France bans citizen journalists from reporting violence...
No I am not making this up. Bloggers would be jailed. Wild. If not for bloggers we would have seen little of the wild violence of the punk jihad ............
The French Constitutional Council has approved a law that criminalizes the filming or broadcasting of acts of violence by people other than professional journalists. The law could lead to the imprisonment of eyewitnesses who film acts of police violence, or operators of Web sites publishing the images, one French civil liberties group warned on Tuesday.
The council chose an unfortunate anniversary to publish its decision approving the law, which came exactly 16 years after Los Angeles police officers beating Rodney King were filmed by amateur videographer George Holliday on the night of March 3, 1991. The officers’ acquittal at the end on April 29, 1992 sparked riots in Los Angeles.
If Holliday were to film a similar scene of violence in France today, he could end up in prison as a result of the new law, said Pascal Cohet, a spokesman for French online civil liberties group Odebi. And anyone publishing such images could face up to five years in prison and a fine of €75,000 (US$98,537), potentially a harsher sentence than that for committing the violent act.

Time to remove "liberty" from the French motto "liberty, equality, fraternity."

C'mon, the French violence thing has nothing to do with Islam, the French have problems with the youth from poor neighbourhoods, the banlieus. Yes, many of the inhabitants are muslims, but the criminal youth is not interested in religion.

The last time the French had to surrender, the terms were dictated to them by the Nazis. Give the French some credit - this time when they surrender, they are doing it on THEIR terms.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The intention of the video law was to try to stop the Muslims video recording attacks on infidels. The Muslim thugs have been videorecording razzias on infidels (some attacks really aren't to steal stuff, but to attack an infidel, slap and kick them, as another jihadist recorded it). All for a good laugh and show how easily the infidels can be terrified. Of course, they couldn't define the restriction for jihadists only, and it serves the French elite's purpose - keep the public in the dark and well fed with BS.

John, If they tried those kind of attacks here, they might find themselves shot. Remember, the only people who are allowed to be armed in France are the police and the criminals. Citizens cannot be trusted with firearms.

Unbelievable (not really) and outragous. Where is the every day French citizen? How long are they going to continue to lay down and get rolled over by their own government? A government so obviously intent on appeasement... A government that is hell bent on handing over that once proud country to Sharia law?
I pray for them....

Patrick, continue to fool yourself, go ahead. We're happy to watch...

tazzerman2000, why are you insulting me? Do you insult everyone who disagrees with your opinion? There were riots in Paris because some policemen accidentally killed someone from a banlieu. No rioter wanted to impose the sharia on France. Yes, islamism is a problem in France, but it is not connected with this special topic. Am I a fool to say this? Maybe, but you, tazzerman2000, are an asshole.
