Muslim youth are back as France's low grade civil war continues apace.The punk jihad rearmed. The natives better arm themselves.

Clashes erupt at Paris' Gare du Nord The AP hat tip Clyde

PARIS - Riot police firing tear gas and brandishing batons clashed Tuesday with bands of youths who shattered windows and looted shops at a major Paris train station, and officials said seven people were arrested.

Officers and police dogs charged at groups of marauding youths, some of them wearing hoods, who mingled with commuters and travelers at the Gare du Nord — one of Paris' most important transport hubs.

Some of the youths threw trash cans and other objects at the officers, who responded by firing tear gas.

One woman was evacuated by paramedics for inhalation of tear gas.

The clashes began in midafternoon, and forced the closure of the station's subway and commuter lines for several hours. The station's long-distance rail hub and Eurostar terminal, which is attached to the subway station, remained open throughout.

UPDATE: Sven writes, this is incredibly troubling. It will not only mean more pandering toward radical islam, but also more anti-Americanism and, worst of all, even more nanny state programs. ...a president Royal will socialize vast parts of the economy and introduce "direct democracy" closely modeled after what Chavez has done in Venezuela. She will effectively seize control over private industries, not quite as far as Chavez, but the difference is a matter of nuances in the socialist spectrum, nothing else.

The consequences of a president Royal would be very far-reaching. She would transform France to such a degree that it is no longer meaningful to talk about France as a "Western" society. She would also ignite a bonfire of radical leftism in Europe. In Germany, the radical left is the only growing political movement (except for the Nazis...) and in Britain the left is about to re-take the Labour party from the moderate centrists around Tony Blair.

The radical left in Europe is passionately pro-islam and totally blind to islamo-fascism. Its expansion of the welfare state plays right into the hands of the islamo-fascists. Islamo-fascism feeds on the eradication of individual freedom, on the suppression of self determination. The welfare state does exactly that, which is why Europe's radical left serves as the useful idiots of the islamo-fascists.

Europe is about to go down the tube permanently. What matters now is to keep watching it, because sooner or later, Eurabia will become a significant problem for America.

UPDATE: Nine people have been arrested and two hurt.

Police used tear gas to disperse up to 100 youths at the Gare du Nord, one of Paris' busiest stations.

Rioters smashed windows and attacked vending machines and shops, after objecting to the treatment of a man arrested for jumping a ticket barrier.

The youths who gathered in the Gare du Nord on Tuesday shouted insults about Mr Sarkozy.

They also chanted slogans of "police are everywhere, justice is nowhere" and "down with the state, police and bosses".

Are the French police and politicians truly insane allowing civilians to be brutallized publicly? The MUSLIM youths should be shot on the spot. When enough of them buy a dirt nap, then they may rethink their behavior. France is lost to Islamic extremists and should serve Americans as an example. We need to start with CAIR first as a terrorist enabler.

We're all worried about Iran aquiring nuclear arms and rightly so. But what about the hundreds of nukes in France? At the rate things are progressing France may very well fall to Islam before Iran produces it's first bomb.

What happens to the nuclear arsenal the French are sitting on if it becomes an Islamic 'Republic'?

OK. I have to say it. I am generally supportive of anything that is anti-islamist (note: not islamic), and radical islam.

BUT, I have not read or seen anywhere in these articles where it say's that these were Muslim Youths causing these crimes. Is this a case of "hyper-active" mind, or have I legitimately missed something?

I support anything that truly derides radical islamists, but I hope your not reaching here.

This is a bad bad news for the governement, since the beginning of the campain, the mainstream political party are talking about french natives racism against the immigrants. The propaganda was on his way , and all these efforts are ruined by their "chances for France" (a word game for immigrants, because a minister says one time : immigration is a chance for France..)
The facts happenned at 16 pm, and nothing was on the medias before 19.30 pm, so you ca,n see dear american friends how the french medias are cheating on us.
This is a really bad news for the government, for sarkozy and royal at 3 weeks from the elections.
I m sure, now , they ll try to minimize , to excuse the "youths", find them some god reasons (racisme bglah blah)
This is a really good news for the national right (Le Pen, De Villiers), i think the french natives will vote massively for Le Pen in the first.
