Myself and others like have been exposing this trend for months - I have a whole category devoted to it "Left wing, Jew hating Jews aka Democrats" but now the New York Times it talking about the Jewicides. Essay Linking Liberal Jews and Anti-Semitism Sparks a Furor By PATRICIA COHEN

The American Jewish Committee, an ardent defender of Israel, is known for speaking out against anti-Semitism, but this conservative advocacy group has recently stirred up a bitter and emotional debate with a new target: liberal Jews. An essay the committee features on its Web site, ajc.org, titled “ ‘Progressive’ Jewish Thought and the New Anti-Semitism,” says a number of Jews, through their speaking and writing, are feeding a rise in virulent anti-Semitism by questioning whether Israel should even exist.

In an introduction to the essay, David A. Harris, the executive director of the committee, writes, “Perhaps the most surprising — and distressing — feature of this new trend is the very public participation of some Jews in the verbal onslaught against Zionism and the Jewish State.” Those who oppose Israel’s basic right to exist, he continues, “whether Jew or gentile, must be confronted.”

Thank G-d it is being said out in the open. I mean who listens to me?

The essay comes at a time of high anxiety among many Jews, who are seeing not only a surge in attacks from familiar antagonists, but also gloves-off condemnations of Israel from onetime allies and respected figures, like former President Jimmy Carter, who titled his new book on the Mideast “Palestine Peace Not Apartheid.” By spotlighting the touchy issue of whether Jews are contributing to anti-Semitism, both admirers and detractors of the essay agree that it aggravates an already heated dispute over where legitimate criticism of Israel and its defenders ends and anti-Semitic statements begin.

Mr. Judt, whose views on Israel and the American Jewish lobby have frequently drawn fire, is chastised for what Mr. Rosenfeld calls “a series of increasingly bitter articles” that have “called Israel everything from arrogant, aggressive, anachronistic, and infantile to dysfunctional, immoral, and a primary cause of present-day anti-Semitism.”

A historian at New York University, Mr. Judt said in a telephone interview that he believed the real purpose of outspoken denunciations of him and others was to stifle harsh criticism of Israel. “The link between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism is newly created,” he said, adding that he fears “the two will have become so conflated in the minds of the world” that references to anti-Semitism and the Holocaust will come to be seen as “just a political defense of Israeli policy.”

I have been faithfully reading your voice, along with Israpundit and Yoni and you are truly like lonely voices calling out in the wilderness. I too, have noticed this bizarre phenomenon, although it really isn't so strange, since we Christians have our traitors too. The thing that the liberal Jew and the liberal Christian have in common is their mutual hatred for their own religion and the need to "fix" it, and purge it from all those pesky and embarrassing absolutes, while demeaning their brethren. I have refrained from criticizing Jew hatin' Jews for fear of being called an antisemite, but I figure that I could just give myself a nice Jewish-sounding name,like, oh, maybe....Tonya Greipenwein and safely criticize the christianophobic liberal Jew-hating Jew....or else I could just ridicule this craven species of traitor.

Being a Jew, I have a vested interest in this issue. I'm ALSO very much a Zionist and believe in the inalienable RIGHT of Jews to our historical homeland in what is ALL of Eretz Israel. (This includes Judea and Sammaria)

I don't apologize for this and will fight for it as long as I live.

I was raised an orthodox Jew, spent some time in yeshiva, lived in Israel for a few years but I AM an American, not an Israeli.

I'm also 100% dead center in the demographic of what is being referred to in these articles as a 'liberal Jew'..

My entire family, to a one, could be the poster children for the self-loathing, Israel-bashing, leftist/progressive, Democrat, BDS suffering, Bush hating, anti-war, liberal Jew in America.

I am the exact opposite and I am alone within my family.

I am MUCH more likely to vote Republican than not, I believe that we are in fact at war with islam world-wide, I am unabashedly pro-Israel and a proud Zionists. I AM about as right-wing as one could be, can't stand most Europeans, am VERY much in love with America and all it stands for and believe in self-reliance, liberty and feel that this country is slowly losing it's own will to defend our shared values and institutions.

I voted for GWB twice and still, to this day, stand by those votes and support our president. I also live in fear for the day that the likes of Hillary Clinton becomes president.

Obvsioulsy, this causes a never ending, running battle between me and the rest of my family. Granted, it's mostly good natured because we are family after all, but there is a HUGE divide between us and in the way we look at things in general. This divide is VERY real and I believe, at this point at least, completely unbridgable.

Keep in mind that my sister was brought up in very much the same way I was, my brother in-law is a rabbi and we ALL profess a deep-seated love of our Jewishness and traditions.

But, they are the classic east-coast liberal Jews. Smug and pompous. Over educated to a fault but lacking almost any common sense. They are preteneous and VERY European in the way they look at things. In a word, they ARE the proto-typical American/Jewish socialist.

They know what's best for everyone and are MORE than willing to impose their views upon you, me and everyone else. While they won't admit it and in fact, will deny it most vigorously, they are some of the WORST racists, bigots and hypocrits on the planet.

While they turn away in horror at the various atrocities committed by islamic jihadists, they refuse to believe that we are at war. They refuse to stand up.

They profess to love Israel but at the same time they abhor Israel and over the years, even though they will deny this, they have bought into the altnernate historic narrative that's blanketed this planet like a cold, dark shadow. That narrative is taught on our OWN college campuses and has become the default position for all 'right' thinking, good little liberal socialists. Jewish or not.

Of course, they also live in a GIANT echo chamber. Being in Philly. They VERY rarely hear a disenting voice or alternative idea. They gather vindication and lemming like right-think, from all the various orginizations and groups they belong to, Jewish or not. They huddle together and tell each other just exactly how bad George Bush is or the 'fact' that Israel is the pariah of the mideast for simply defending herself with out once questioning or speaking out against the orthodoxy of their new religion of social-Judeaisim.

The thing that REALLY gets me is that the clergy, for the most part, is leading this charge. They are the HEAD lemmings, rushing over that cliff with all the good little lemmings following right behind.

My OWN Rabbis, a husband and wife, Reconstructionist tag-team of leftist, politically correct-thinking, socialist Israel bashers, spend more time writing their little leftist 'it takes a village' type books, then they do actually teaching Torah and Talmud to the children of our congregation.

For me, I see a trait engrained in the Jewish people that in fact MAKES US LEMMINGS.

How else could the Nazis have herded so many of us into the gas chambers?

We are victims of our own religious xenophobia not to mention our professed (Children of God) and preceived exceptionalisim which causes us to remain outside of most societal structures. As a whole, we attempt to over compensate at times, fueled no doubt by our own enormous and collective feeling of guilt, insecurity and need for acceptance.

As a whole, I think jews feel guilty about BEING Jews. Only in Israel have I seen Jews who are NOT... Amazing eh?

Jews want to help people, this is true. There is NOT a more kindly people, capable of incredible compassion and love with the incredible abilities of intellect that we Jews possess.

But it's a double-edged sword and I believe one of the roots of world-wide socialisim.

Once again, if you have a group of people who feel they are superior who actually do have the intellectual power and desire, they tend to see themselves as the chosen ones who should decide how society should work. They LOVE a central command government and fear a free, open, republic.

They would NATURALLY gravitate more towards political parties that agree with them and echo their beliefs. Right?

We are our own worst enemies, no doubt.

The Jews that I know who do NOT follow the flow are typically NOT east/west coast lemmings. We're more likely to be midwestern/red state right-wingers. A great many are either active military or ex-military. We are NOT religious but do hold very deeply to our Jewish roots, traditions and are very happy to stand up and say we're Jewish and Zionists.

Some of us have served in orgs like the JDL.

But we are VERY far and few between. Very.

I'm not EVEN going to discuss the 'femminization of Jewish men' :)

This is a scary trend, I can not understand why this is happening, it's like the power of the leftish brainwashing. I have a lot of Jewish friends who are like this. They mostly don't even want to discuss the issue of the truth about Islam, just like many other leftists, they just try to shut you down by screaming 'RACIST'. We have to start diffusing this by saying, 'No, you're the racist, besides Islam isn't even a race it's a religion which is really a political ideology.' It really is amazing, just baffling.

What is important to know about Tony Judt is that he is a coward. The hostility against Israel gives him fear that it will reflect back on him so if we get rid of the object of the hostility (Israel), Tony Judt believes that he himself will not be picked on so much.

Richard Cohen is the perfect description of Ann Coulter's humorous remark that there are no liberal men -- only hairy women. If there's a fight according to Cohen, one must run run run.... Israel is under attack and hostility; therefore, it should do as much as it can to surrender accrding to Richard Cohen. He is another coward.
