Random Christmas Thoughts

First off I love these tee shirts. Wanna get me one,  but I am Jewish!

Operation Hero Miles: Turn in Your Frequent Flyer Miles to Help Service Members & their Families here.

Operation Hero Miles was created in October of 2003.  It allows people to turn in frequent flyer miles so troops can fly home on leave from Iraq and Afghanistan or family members can visit their loved ones recovering at military hospitals hat tip Strategy Page

This tiny firm evidently builds and teaches Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and is always looking for military-trained consultants.

Have you adopted a soldier yet?

Help save a life in Israel here. The MDA provide the world's finest emergency medical services to the people of Israel.

Totally random: Am I the only one that loves the latest Jaguar commerical? If you've seen it you know what I am talking about. Makes me crazy. Love that wildness. It's set to Diamond Hearts, pulsating "The Girl's Attractive" Listen. Meow. If I see it online I'll run it. Very sexy.

UPDATE: Rich found it here. Thanks Rich, you duh man. Look what can I tell you?  The ad is a welcome respite from Ditech.com and Headon (obviously the TV is set to FOX - and TMC late at night - I love those silent movies)

My kids won't let me watch Jaguar commercials...but I only live a block from their showroom...you're right, they are wild.

I named mine "The Green Hornet" it's dark green and very sleek. I never drive it anywhere, we're always on patrol....

Ayn Rand at 100: "Yours is the Glory"

  • Aynrandstamp_1

  • Speaking to the unnamed, unchampioned, beating heart of her new land, Ayn was to say: 'Yours is the glory.'"
A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. What's the most depraved type of human being? Not a sadist or a murderer or a sex maniac or a dictator; "The man without a purpose." Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.

  • Life has Loveliness to sell,
    All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
    And children's faces looking up,
    Holding wonder like a cup

    Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
    Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
