Seems kind of pointless. Carter isn't going to change his opinions, no matter what the logical answers or popular response may be, and neither will those in his circle.
A better response would be e-mails to the Democratic leadership, vowing to never vote for any Democratic candidate until Carter is formally chastised and rebuked by the party.

and I'm not even Jewish. ;D

Done, also.
Carter says: made it clear that I have never claimed that American Jews control the news media, but reiterated that the overwhelming bias for Israel comes from among Christians like me who have been taught since childhood to honor and protect God's chosen people from among whom came our own savior, Jesus Christ.
I don't know about the wider christian world, but I was never "taught since childhood" blah blah blah. Nor am I Jewish, but I support Israel for moral and political reasons, not religious reasons.
He also says: I am familiar with the extreme acts of violence that have been perpetrated against innocent civilians, and understand the fear among many Israelis that threats against their safety and even their existence as a nation still exist. I reiterated my strong condemnation of any such acts of terrorism.
Fat f'ing lot of good his condemnation has done, eh? So, when will his new book PEACEFUL PALESTINIANS FANTASY NOT FACT coming out?

I did and added a little note - a personal touch, as it were...
Mr Carter,
Only a man with an illiberal mind and a dishonest heart could have produced such a detestable screed like your book. Your "sealed with a kiss" appeasement of the Soviet tyranny over half of the world was one of the lowest points in this country's recent history. But to me personally, as a Jew and as a former refugee from Soviet Union, with this book you have truly reached the bottom of the pit. And it doesn't matter how many rabbis you have holding hands with you or how many of your friends are Jewish; I think that the rest of us Jews see you for what you are - a bigot and a hater of Israel.

Done (and it felt good)

"Mitzvah" does not mean "good deed". A "Mitzvah" is a Torah or Rabbinical commandment or obligation.
The Hebrew word for good deed(s) is "Chesed" (with the "ch" being gutteral, as in "Chanukah", which many can't pronounce correctly anyway).
Of course, doing Chesed (good deeds) is itself a Mitzvah (obligatory commandment). I just don't want everyone parroting their Jewish vocabulary from Seinfeld episodes.
You can thank me later. ;)

I emailed Emory with a subject line of "RETURN TO SENDER - DAMAGED MATERIALS." They may have already set up a filter to erase incoming mails with the originally suggested subject line text.

Carter's 'apology' isn't.
As to those three soldiers: I'm sorry, but if they weren't dead within 48 hours of being kidnapped, they certainly are by now.
