What nerve. These onerous little frogs are threatening Israel? These two bit, two faced duplicitous snakes are playing with Jewish lives? Dogs. They can't contain their own population. There is a low grade civil war in France and they are busying themselves with aiding in the annihilation of the Jews. The Vichy g'ment redux.
Hezballah never disarmed and UNIFIL has given the savages free reign.
I hope Israel fires back, hard.
French soldiers in Lebanon who feel threatened by aggressive Israeli overflights are permitted to shoot at IAF fighter jets, a high-ranking French military officer told The Jerusalem Post.
Wednesday, several days after meeting with an IDF general in Paris to discuss what he said was a "blatant violation of the cease-fire."
The second Lebanon war: JPost.com special report Last weekend, Maj.-Gen. Ido Nehushtan, head of the IDF Planning Directorate, traveled to Paris and met with military officials to explain why the IAF flies over
Lebanon despite the UN-brokered cease-fire.
Nehushtan, new to his post and previously deputy commander of the air force, told his French counterparts that Israel was conducting the flights to collect intelligence on Hizbullah positions in southern Lebanon.
According to the French officer, Nehushtan apologized for an incident on October 31 when an IAF fighter carried out a mock bombing run over a French UNIFIL position in southern Lebanon, almost prompting troops to fire anti-aircraft missiles.
"There was a reality on the ground and it was important for us to reaffirm what we had seen and explain clearly what are the orders of the French soldiers to protect themselves," the French officer said.
The French told Nehushtan they would view further aggressive flyovers as a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
"No assurances were made to us that they [the IAF] would stop [the flights]," the French officer said. "The orders that the [French] soldiers have is that their weapons are for self-defense and if a commander will feel threatened, as it was about to happen on the 31st of October, he would have the right to use force."

"The Italians stole from shops in Haris," he says, adding later that his shop in particular has been looted. "So I don't like them. I like the French because they don't steal. The have made the most efforts to establish relations with the villagers."
The French are also his biggest customers.
"They buy the Hizbullah flags and Michel Aoun flags and the Lebanese flags," he says.

What the hell, is this France's way of trying to stop their neverending car bonfires. If these pansies do work up the nerve to shoot at the IAF we might as well get ready for an influx of the few sane French still there because France will be lost.

I was thinking of getting a new "Boycott France" bumper sticker from Bill O'Reilly because the flag colors started fading. Then I thought, nah, it's appropriate that the colors have faded. Eventually, if I leave it on there long enough, it will fade into the French flag of the past century...white.

I think it's time we accidently dropped another bomb on a French embassy.

Okay, folks here's the bottom line (and please understand I have a Jewish Doc so I'm rather pro-Israel):
You remember the movie Thirteen Days? Combat jets come racing in at 400-500 miles an hour, on the deck and nobody knows if they've got cameras or guns on 'em - so the Cubans shoot at the RF-8s. Probably the case.
That said, France: Either send your own damn jets to take pictures for the Israelis or get used to it. And if you DO fire on Israeli jets, you better have a good reason.

viciousDem: killing Israelis is a GOOD thing: check.
France deserves what happens to it, anywhere on Earth.

VD...Hey, I just figured out your initials, you certainly are a "social desease"...you just had to come in, not to comment but to spew a little more personal hate...I applaud you, or should I say "clap", on your effort to dig yourself deeper in the dung pile.
The French will be making the biggest mistake in their history the day they fire on an Israeli plane.

Yep, those French soldiers are putting quite a bit on the line.. After all, they're staring down those big, bad Israelis who we ALL know are just another war-mongering, 'neocon', cabal hell bent on world domination. Just like the U.S. of A.
Those Frenchies are on the front lines, protecting all of us from freedom, liberty and democracy and helping to ensure the spread of the one TRUE religion.
Viva la France and allah akbar!

VD - the only people who speak so negatively about our Troops were bad former troops. Washed out, pulled out or kicked out. Were you as despised as I suspect you were?
You obviously have zero brain power. I recall your first post when you introduced yourself by launching into a hate-filled rant against Pamela, called her a "Jew-bitch" among other unmentionable things.
You were so over the top, even your fellow libs were on you about it...
Zero-brain power vs. Major Scott's far superior intelligence. The work he is doing (Chemical Warfare Defense) is most important and crucial.
It upsets you that he takes time to write comments on this blog. How pathetic.
You should know that the overwhelming majority of the Troops are not on the front lines, but their mission and duties are no less important.
You should be ashamed of yourself. You have managed only to embarrass YOURSELF (again).
You say you were an O-5? Well, ACT LIKE IT sometime.

This is crazy. UNSC 1701 is here. Read Clause 15, carefully. Essentially, as long as Hezbollah is rearming (which everyone says it is) UNSC 1701 authorizes and encourages overflights to monitor and even attack such shipments. Lebanon has yielded its sovereignty on this issue and has no further say in such matters.
The French do believe that because they lead UNIFIL they have the authority to determine the extent to which they must enforce U.N. resolutions, from doing nothing to following them to the letter - that's how French law works. But for France to actively oppose a U.N. resolution it has vowed to enforce is out-of-character. I wonder if they really mean it.

victimdhim weighs in yet again. Exactly when have French soldiers put ANYTHING on 'the line'?
Why, oh why would the victim speculate on the major's practices?
Get some help in pulling your head out of your ass.

Can the French get any more foolish? Is this an excuse for them to display their leaky air craft carrier (most likely towed by tugboats because of numerous propulsion "problems")? Can you see the IAF pilots laughing themselves silly at 40,000 feet? "It izz to joke, non?"
We should amend our Thanksgiving prayers to include the following:
"Thank you for making sure this country was far enough away from Europe ...etc. etc. ... but, Lord, most of all, FUCK THE FRENCH!"

1) Ignore the french.
2) Continue the flights
3) Demonstrate how inconsequential they are by simply OBLITERATING any position that fires on IAF reconnaissance flights...and show in doing so that hizballah is far tougher..THEY ARE

Were VDs comments pulled from here? I personally don't mind that, just curious.

Now Pam,
Don't be so gentle and polite with your opinions, tell us what you *really* think. ;)

Israel should IMMEDIATELY issue a warning that ANYONE firing on them will suffer the consequences nd the act will be seen as an act of war!!! http://sacredscoop.com

Look, am I the only one who reads UN resolutions? Clause 15 of UNSC 1701 essentially authorizes Israeli overflights as long as Hezbollah is being resupplied.
