French mob descend like locusts on a lone, defenseless Jew. One of the tormentors was shot dead by police. Le Figaro has the story here hat tip and translation RH
Witnesses said the black policeman opened fire late Thursday on a mob of fans from the French first division side Paris Saint Germain who were chasing a Jewish supporter of the Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv.
"It seems like quite serious racist insults were used. 'Dirty nigger' and 'dirty Jew'," Paris Prosecutor Jean-Claude Marin told reporters.
Politicians of all colours denounced the violence and urged soccer authorities to rid their sport of racism.
"Soccer isn't about hatred, it can't be a war," said Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. "It is unacceptable that a fan from one club was chased and called a filthy Jew."
The Hapoel supporter was being pursued by around 100 PSG fans when plainclothes policeman Antoine Granomort intervened, according to the police.
At first he let off a tear gas canister to try to disperse the assailants, but then himself came under attack, and was kicked to the ground by the mob, police said.
Witnesses said he shouted "police, police" before opening fire, killing 25-year-old Julien Quemener and injuring Mounir Bouchaer, 26.
A French "football fan" was shot dead by a plain-clothed police officer after a European football match. The officer reportedly fired tear gas, then live ammunition in an effort to disperse a fighting crowd near Paris' Parc des Princes football stadium. The group of 150 Paris Saint Germain supporters were surrounding a fan of the Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv, who had beaten PSG 4-2 in the Uefa Cup. An investigation has been launched into the shooting, police said. Paris Saint Germain fans have a reputation for violent incidents, with the club disciplined over their behaviour several times in the past. More here at the BBC
The police officer, who has not been identified, threw tear gas to break up a group of Paris fans surrounding the Israeli.
The officer was then chased towards a McDonald's restaurant nearby, holding the crowd at bay with his firearm before firing at least two shots, reports said.
Police union official Luc Poignant told the AFP news agency that the officer "had no choice but to defend himself and protect another person".

As I've told others, the anti-Jew sentiment in Europe has never gone away. It is there, sometimes poorly masked but potentially lethal, nonetheless.
It's not restricted to the marginal skinheads, either. You could tell the old pogromism was bubbling to the surface when Europeans began using the term "Zionist".
This began long before there was any major immigration of Muslims into the depleted labor ranks of post-War Europe.
A "Zionist" is any Jew (and can include non-Jews who also support same) who supports Israel's right to exist no matter how inconvenient that fact may be to Muslims. But it has always been, and continues to be, a codeword so that the "clean" European can look astonished when accused of anti-Jewish sentiments.
Think about how utterly insane the European attitude has become. France is willing to actually flex military muscle, flabby as it is, and fire on Israeli reconnaissance jets simply gathering intelligence on Hezbollah's new weapons (that the French are there to ensure they get). Yet, they tremble in self-loathing when Musl--- er, "youths," -- torch a few dozen cars each night.
Friends to their own enemies, enemies to people who would suffer the same fate if the Muslims ever took over. That is Europe today. Spain and France were the first in the opening salvo of the Reconquest of Europe --- England is sliding that way and it won't be long before most of "Old Europe" sinks beneath dhimmitude.
I'm not Jewish and cannot advise Jews on the best course of action but European Jews might want to keep future residence options open. If you think the Europeans are not capable of Auschwitz in the future, you're sadly and tragically mistaken.

Don't go anywhere alone if you even 'look' like a Jew.

No place in europe will ever be safe, or HAS EVER been safe.
No conscience can be appealed to.
No legal standard can suffice when the moral backing does not exist (let alone the backbone)
They should leave under GIANT BANNERS listing the 2000 years of abuse, and connecting it to the PERSONAL responsibility of every living European, again taking no action in the face of bigotry, ignorance and violence.
The righteous of today should abandon the place NOW as well.
Thank GOD we are escapees from the european greeds, and needs. No wonder they want to treat us with contempt..we saw them for what they are and LEFT DODGE.

One more reason to buy "Boycott France" bumper stickers from O'Reilly. There is a French Colonel who works at my unit, and I make cetain that I park outside his office window as often as possible.
