Dhimmicrats: Embracing Your Killers
You can't make this up. The dhimmis have not only surrendered, they wish to write their surrender into law. From Soccer Dad here hat tip Ed Lasky via LGF
Soccer Dad has an eye-opening look at the likely new head of the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers (D-MI), who last year held a freakish, openly anti-Jewish mock impeachment hearing (so bad it was even condemned by mainstream media): Congressman Conyers and Islam.
Conyers claims that his resolution singles out tolerance for Muslims "obviously to respond to those who believe our nation would tolerate disrespect of that religion or its holy book." Such a straw-man argument, especially in light of the numerous bogus reportings of anti-Islamic bias crimes by CAIR does nothing for furthering the respect that is supposed to be the goal of Conyers' resolution to begin with.
Please go here and read it all.............
Here is the actual text of Resolution 288, as it appears on Conyers' web site, seeking religious tolerance for all religions while placing a heavy emphasis on protection of Islam :
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives condemning bigotry and religious intolerance, and recognizing that holy books of every religion should be treated with dignity and respect.
Whereas believers of all religions, including the Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, should be treated with respect and dignity;
Whereas the word Islam comes from the Arabic root word meaning “peace” and “submission”;
Whereas there are an estimated 7,000,000 Muslims in America, from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, forming an integral part of the social fabric of America;
Whereas the Quran is the holy book for Muslims who recite passages from it in prayer and learn valuable lessons about peace, humanity and spirituality;
Whereas it should never be official policy of the United States Government to disparage the Quran, Islam, or any religion in any way, shape, or form;Whereas mistreatment of prisoners and disrespect toward the holy book of any religion is unacceptable and against civilized humanity;
Whereas the infringement of an individual’s right to freedom of religion violates the Constitution and laws of the United States: Now, therefore, be it
1 Resolved, That the House of Representatives–
(1) condemns bigotry, acts of violence, and intolerance against any religious group, including our friends, neighbors, and citizens of the Islamic faith;
(2) declares that the civil rights and civil liberties of all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith, should be protected;
(3) recognizes that the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as any other holy book of any religion, should be treated with dignity and respect; and
(4) calls upon local, State, and Federal authorities to work to prevent bias-motivated crimes and acts against all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith.
America, wake up!

The Democrats and their foolish followers are all about silencing anyone who disagrees with them- especially Christians. And this legislation will do just that. I think we can also expect the msm to start ramping up 'reconstructionist' scare stories as a means of distracting the public from this attempt at strangling the First Amendment.

I'm not suprised that Conyers would put this forth, considering the present makeup of his Congressional district. I was in high school when this bolshevic got elected, and my oldest GRANDAUGHTER is now the age I was when Conyers first got elected!!
Just hold onto your hat - Mr. Conyers will provide much grist for our mills the next 2 years. I'd make a bet impeachment hearings will start before the end of January. Oh, and here is something else that will make your day - the jihadi Congressman-elect from MN, Mr. Ellison (according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune), wants a seat on the Judicary Committee, the committee Conyers will chair. The main part of that S-T article was how Mr. Ellison snubbed an invitation to the White House by Pres. Bush for a meeting with some union hacks.

are you guys reading the same resolution as me? how exactly is a non-binding resolution which simply asks people to be tolerant of different religions really be "all about silencing anyone who disagrees with them- especially Christians." or be a setback to free speech? there's nothing even remotely like that in the text of the resolution.
you get the concept of non-binding resolution, right?

Denizens of Atlasworld cannot read anything containing the words Islam, muslim, or Quran without being piqued into fits of apocalyptic rage.

Unexcised liberal cancers in Atlasworld don't read what might prove them wrong, if they even read at all. Likely, they just write, like those who talk without listening.

what a crock of pandering, dhimmified horseshit. Does Conyers (And the rest of you 'unexcised liberal cancers' not understand the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
This 'resolution' is in fact singling out Islam for 'special' treatment and in my mind, establishing a protective, governmental 'barrier' around islam and islam alone which flies directly in the face of the 1st Amendment.
Granted, it's couched in pretty sounding,
'inclusive' words with Christianity and Judaisim being MENTIONED, but the intent here is without doubt.
By the way, why no mention of the Hindu, Buddist, atheist, Wiccan or agnostics etc among us?
Is this to be construed as a resolution only concerned with the "Abrahamic faiths"?
Why is there no resolution CONDEMING those among us who are using their religion to justify the murder of thousands of innocent people?
And here I thought that the 1st Amendment was pretty clear, concise and all encompassing. Silly me....
