This is exactly what I was asking Robert Spencer in my interview earlier today here. I wondered if he thought, as I did, that it was more difficult to fight the jihad in America because, on the surface, the Islamists' posture is warm and fuzzy, while they plot and plan to undermine the very tenets of our society by funding and supporting Islamic terror.
Islamists approach each country differently. Violence works in the Middle East and Europe. America is a whole different psyche. We would never put up with that in your face approach. So the mask is kumbaya, the goal is shariah.

Local religious leaders spoke out in support of the Islamic Center of Long Island at an interfaith celebration at the Westbury mosque, which Rep. Peter King has alleged is run by extremists.

An Alabama Muslim's ties to an Islamic charity, shut down by the U.S. government for funding activities by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, has caused a rift between Birmingham's Jewish and Muslim communities.
A rift?
Raed Awad, a Palestinian who moved to Birmingham two years ago, has taken part in numerous interfaith programs, including chanting prayers in Arabic from the pulpit at South Highland Presbyterian Church during a Thanksgiving week interfaith service last year.
But his critics note that when he lived in Florida, Awad raised funds for The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which the U.S. government shut down in December 2001 for its connections to Hamas.

The sole purpose of Hopsfenperger's story appears to be to whitewash the Nation of Islam in connection with Fifth District congressional candidate Keith Ellison. Unfortunately, while whitewashing the Nation of Islam, the Star Tribune has also whitewashed Ellison's involvement with the Nation of Islam and Ellison's manifold lies concerning that involvement.
Hopsfenperger continues the Ellison whitewash in this story, suggesting that he was merely "collaborat[ing] with the Nation of Islam on common goals." She appears not to know that Ellison was himself a local leader of and spokesman for the Nation of Islam, probably because she has been relying on the Star Tribune for her information about Ellison.
