After invitations to Harvard and the University of Virginia [corrected] (excellent coverage of that at Jon Quixote);
Columbia Invites Ahmadinejad to Speak NY Sun
[Left wing] Columbia University has invited the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to give a speech tomorrow at the Morningside campus.Ahmadinejad Talks to U.S. Think Tank
Ahmadinejad Makes Appearance Before [left wing] Council on Foreign Relations, Over U.S. Objections.Chavez says Bush 'alcoholic' and 'sick man'
NEW YORK - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez launched a new personal attack against President George W. Bush on Thursday, calling the US leader an "alcoholic" and a "sick man" during a tour of the New York district of Harlem.
Why would any American welcome this tyrant into a church no less? Why didn't those folks shout him out. If they lived in his country, their mouths would be shut so fast their heads would spin.
The American left welcomes our enemies. Danny Glover introduced Chavez in Harlem.
Gateway Pundit identifies the Citgo Pro-Chavez rally was held at the same Marxist Church that held a Pro-Castro rally in August. (httOmP)
The American left invites them to speak on the campuses of our Ivy league colleges. Lauds them.
The American left fight for the rights of American murdering jihadis. The left fights FISA, SWIFT, Patriot act and Bush's pro-democracy push in the Middle East. The American left is the fifth column. They are the enemy within.
I will say this again.
VOTE THIS NOVEMBER LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES.
UPDATE: Democrat Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa says he “can understand the frustration” of Chavez. Harkin then went on to critique the President Bush and the Administration. At a time when Americans should be standing together during a time of war when the vultures are circling;
Harkin defends Venezuelan President's U-N speech against Bush
Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, a democrat, today defended Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's United Nations speech in which Chavez called President George Bush the devil. Harkin said the comments were "incendiary", then went on to say, "Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies." Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president's foreign policy.
Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush's actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was "unnecessary."
Translation of "humility"-- surrender, submission, dhimmitude
UPDATE: I have just learned that, according to the Columbia Spectator, the university today cancelled Ahmadinejad's planned speech, allegedly due to technical difficulties in assuring his security. "Technical difficulties"? What pussies.
UPDATE: Head-in-the-Sand Liberals This is from a liberal, Sam Harris, LA TIMES - Western civilization really is at risk from Muslim extremists. hat tip Jon Quixote
UPDATE: More proof of the direction the American left is taking.............straight to hell. From LGF here;
At the “progressive” left’s premier
loony binweb site, they’re incredibly wound up about the anti-Chavez statements from Nancy Pelosi and Charles Rangel; the cognitive dissonance is reaching a crescendo. (Hat tip: Killgore T.)I just tried to write Nancy Pelosi after I saw...
Chavez A “Thug,” Says Nancy Pelosi. Is Pelosi a troll?
Rangel and Pelosi Out Of Line.
Pelosi defends Bush against Chavez.

Notice that Brent Scowcroft (Bush's Daddy's best friend) is one of the honchos of the CFR.

It is to his everlasting credit that despite his pedigree, G.H.W. Bush is one of the best friends we Jews have ever had in the White House. Too bad his devotion to protecting the Jewish people of Israel has not been reciprocated by American Jewry, but then again loyalty towards a friend does not seem to be a
quality possessed by the majority of the Jewish voters in America.

Pamela, the university JonQuixote references is not West Virginia, but Virginia. Picky, I know, but important to us Virginians.
I wonder at what point liberals' heads will start exploding en masse like the martians in Tim Burton's Mars Attacks. They certainly seem poised on the edge of something very much like a collective (how's that for apt?) psychic breakdown.

Liberals with exploding heads. I like it. Great visual. I will immediately go purchase a large rubber sheet to cover myself with, so as to avoid being splattered with pieces of head. Not brain matter, for liberals seem to possess little of that for some reason.
Personally, I would pay cash money to see Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi's heads explode. Maybe the day after this November's elections would be a good time to camp outside their houses with a videocam.

It's no surprise Columbia invites that idiot to "speak" to its student body and professorial contingent. I've come to the point that I'm not surprised by anything any college in the USA does anymore, except teach.
That, unfortunately, comes far down the list, after indoctrination and psychobabble.
