Diane West nails it and it is only part one........read it all here
If this were a sane world, this is what we would hear during the president's next address to the nation:
My fellow Americans,
I come to you now, gravely aware that what I am about to say will radically change the course of what we have, for nearly five long years now, called the war on terror.
For almost as long as I have held this office, I have been leading this war. On my watch, the United States sent troops into Afghanistan to destroy the Taliban and drive Al Qaeda from the safe haven it used to plan attacks on our country. On my watch, we sent troops into Iraq to topple Saddam Hussein and break this link in the terrorism food chain. On my watch, the United States spearheaded an ambitious drive to bring democracy to regions of the Middle and Near East as part of an effort to touch brutalized peoples with the salve of freedom and see them recover their free will, forever strengthened by what we in America prize as God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Eh...are you going to like do a Vlog sometime before Christmas or what.
What the hell.

Eventually the President - if not Bush, then another - will have to make a speech very much like this. To do so, he'll have to determine that CAIR and other terrorist-affiliated outlets like it can whine till they pass out, to no effect. If he doesn't address the problem at all, verbally and by means of some real, concrete action, then we're really screwed. Let's hope he has the courage to be a statesman and not just a politician.

This is exactly the shift that has taken place in my thinking in recent weeks. Truth is, Diana West never believed Democracy would work in the ME, so this is nothing new for her.
I think it could have worked if we would have used the tactics we used in WWII, and the American Civil War.
But, we didn't, so now we'll never know.
It's time to move on.
MoveOn.Kill
It's time to start fighting a real war.

You are absolutely correct! This is a terrific article and I went to Townhall to read the complete version! Great post, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Have you heard Dennis Prager this week talking about President Carter? I mention it because he says, that this administration isn't following the previous administrations and their foreign policies, etc.
Well, no shit sherlock! "yeah, well, hey, President Carter, how's that past policy working out for you?". Are you kidding me?
President Bush's Foreign Policy INS'T like previous administrations, FOR A REASON! IT DIDN'T WORK! I can't believe this guy was ever President!
Diane's article points out clearly WHY the policies of the past administrations don't work and WHY President Bush's policy is a better direction.
When Democraps say that this war on terror should change and head in a new direction, what they really mean is that they want things to return to the prior state of "don't irritate them and they'll go away". Even if it never has worked, it's what they're accustom to!
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Can't find the article, because the link is to the townhall homepage, but if it's a fantasy speech of Bush saying to hell with political correctness, it's time to tell it like it is and pledge a serious war against Islamo Facism, then, good grief, it is just that...a complete fantasy.
Why not a fantasy speech of Bin Laden saying he's realized the error of his ways, has switched to Christianity and is now calling on Muslims everywhere to end the violence and just embrace their western brothers? It would be just as believable.
I mean, come on...there are many guarantees, but this one you can take to the bank---Bush will never again use the term Islamo Facism. That's how sad it's become. The first sign of resistence from the disgraced CAIR, and it's now "the war against those who wish to harm Americans."
After seeing Bush and Condi's disgraceful actions of the past 10 days, all hope of America having the conviction to fight a real war on terror is gone.
It's going to take a couple of mushroom clouds to open America's eyes to what they're really facing. Hopefully, a couple of million dead people will be enough to build America's resolve to slaughter these sub human vermin, but, I doubt even that will be enough.

"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
Winston Churchill
We are at war with savages who would put explosives in baby bottles with their own babies in order to slip them onto an civilian airliner.
The most merciful course of action with them is to win quickly by any means available, not fool around with having a "fair fight," or a proportionate response, or any other considerations of nuanced etiquette. Pulling our punches doesn't communicate to our adversaries that resisting our Will is hopeless, which is the objective of War. The takfeeris and kharijites just don't appreciate our self-restraint as an expression of moral superiority in accordance with some feminist literary-psychological theory they haven't read.
Anything besides the application of maximum force in war gives one's adversaries the hope that if they suffer and endure, somehow they will eventually prevail. Permitting them that illusion is pure sadism, and more evil than any dirty trick or brutality, since it creates completely gratuitous and militarily unnecessary suffering by prolonging the enemy's Will to Fight.
Moral clarity comes from deciding whether you really intend to win or to lose in the end. If we don't intend to win, then negotiate terms of surrender and save our own soldiers from being maimed and killed in vain. If we intend to win, let's impress that on the satanic terrorists by behaving as relentlessly determined opponents, not as morally sensitive and self-restrained ones. We will have to kill and maim far fewer of them in the end if they understand that they can expect no self-restraint in our actions or limit to our Will to Win.
War is Hell, not a psychotherapy session. We need to win this thing before there is a nuclear 9/11.
The biggest disappointment about George W. is that he is less another Abraham Lincoln than he is another LBJ. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus so he could arrest and detain Northern Confederate sympathizers. LBJ forced our military to constrain themselves in prosecuting the Vietnam War in a vain attempt to appease Blame America First leftists and their Media running dogs. As we all know from history, Lincoln's efforts failed to catch all the traitors: he was assassinated by a cabal of them. LBJ's pollster-appeasing, limp political Will cost us the War when it was already won militarily. Despite his personal tragedy, Lincoln gets the far higher mark from History, except from the self-loathing professors who would prefer America had never existed in the first place.
Come on, Mr. President, we are deeply hated for what we are by a ruthless and determined enemy who is determined to make the entire world submit to a God of Death. This is not a War Against Terror, it is a War Against Islamist Terrorists. No more pulled punches. Fight to win!
