Resign, Abu Dana, Resign
And take Condi with you.
Mr. Olmert, Mr. Peretz, Mr. Halutz: You have squandered the lives of our soldiers. You have squandered our opportunity to free the nation of Israel from a deadly enemy. You have set the stage for the next war.
By September, we will be under attack once more. Do the decent thing: Resign, all of you, and let Mr. Netanyahu and General Ya'alon (who was kicked out because he refused to go along with the disengagement) take over.
Resign, Mr. Olmert. Resign in shame for your incompetence. Your inability to carry out a single one of the objectives you so stirringly announced at the beginning of this war. With all
of you and your incompetent Kadima-led government out of office, we will all be safer and better prepared when the rockets start to fall once again, as they inevitably will with the U.N. and the French guarding our borders. And if you won't do the honorable thing, we will do everything we can to get you fired. You make me sick. I am ashamed to be a citizen of my country under your leadership. I am appalled to have a son in the IDF under your leadership.

Olmert has three stikes aginst him:
He is an attorney
He is a politician
He has NO military experience

Hopefully, they know something we don't. Olmert simply couldn't have bought into all the hype about "world wide" protests against Israel over this. Sunnis were sharply divided, and even Shiites didn't bother or were afraid to appear at protests anywhere.
The images I saw had about five people at each demonstration, even in places like Karachi, Pakistan. The fact is, Sunnis aren't going to lift a finger to save Shiites, especially when they're busy laying claim to Sunni and Christian land in Southern Lebanon by "defending" it from Israeli "aggression."
That ought to be a signal as to how the Muslim world would divide up in case of hostilities, to use the delicate term, with Iran.
Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs have big mouths about destroying Israel and world domination, especially considering the long knives are out for them among the sizeable Kurdish and Baloch minorities in their own country. Fully five provinces of Iran are "no go" for Ahmadinejad. Same situation for Musharraf, who can't show a hair on his ass in half the provinces of his own country.
In any event, I agree, fighting half a war against Hizbollah is about as sensible as removing half a tumor. There ought to be nothing to negotiate with Hizbollah. Give up your weapons and get out ought to be the only acceptable agreement.
I hardly think that's going to happen until the wider Islamist fascist movement is thoroughly trounced. Look at the extent to which total war had to be pursued against the Nazis and Japanese militarists before they were willing to give up. The Nazis had only a generation to indoctrinate their children. Islamic fascism has had several generations.
In the meantime, let the French learn how to interface with Hizbollah, so they'll be ready when they decide to take over France in the near future.

I doubt that Hizbollah will be able to control themselves, if for no reason other than to avoid having the extent of Iranian soldiers' presence shown. They'll start firing the rockets and Isreal will have the unmistakable justification to go in and do the war for real. Count on it. 48hrs max. But Isreal must have had an actual stoppage in bombings.
But it IS important for Olmert to quickly step down and a known military leader to step up. (As a fair pre-warning that "when the rockets restart, here's who'll call the shots"). At that point, it should be all gloves off.
