Raining Rockets in Israel, Haifa Bombardment
They've called 5,000 reserves in Israel. Ground invasion likely (good). Meanwhile we are talking 12,000 katuyshas. 12,000, and the bloodthirsty international community rubs their hands in delight.
There is no way to destroy all the rockets through air strikes. Hizballah has twelve thousand katyushas; it has launched only a few hundred of those [Israelbunker points out this must be a typo, he is in Israel and says "There is no way that is correct. Yaalon mispoke then. There are days when they fire,120 at a time. Tony Blair gave a speech a few days ago saying that 1600 have been fired.- Atlas] These are rockets that can be stored in cars and launched anywhere, so the idea of a ground operation would be to suppress the rocket launching, not to destroy the rockets. In the end, the way to end the rocket barrages is to exact a price for the use of such weapons.
General Moshe Yaalon former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) chief of staff.
Breaking: At least 19 people wounded in Haifa rocket bombardment
One in moderate-serious condition; rocket hits apartment building, post office; rockets in Kiryat Shmona, Safed, alarm sounds in Tiberias.
I am sick and tired of hearing about the poor Lebanese people. It's the Israelis under siege. The Jew hating press doesn't talk about that although FOX has been far more balanced than any other news outlet but if I hear them say Hezbollah "militant" one more time, I am going to cry.
And another thing, who gives a shit about what the evacuees think? Isn't it enough we are paying their way back to America -- WTF was that all about? I have to listen to their political opinions, too? What a joke, listening to some pisher fresh out of college talk about peace.
Good piece from O'Reilly. Finally, big voices are getting it.
UPDATE July 22: A letter from Israel;
I live and work just south of Haifa, and have been hearing the rockets fall. My cousin's house was hit just an hour ago. Thankfully she's ok, and coming over to stay in my house later today.
My grandmother, a holocaust survivor, still lives in Haifa. I called her to ask if she wanted to join us, and she told me "Don't worry dear - in WWII the german and russian rocket attacks were worse". Kind of put you in perspective how far we have come, and how far the Iranians and Syrians want to push us back...
In any case our Special Forces are now in south Lebanon engaging the Hezbullah fighters in there. Sadly Hezbullah used the past 6 years of UN helplessness to dig in really well - with complex bunker systems (Kind of like the Viet Cong in Vietnam or the Japanese in Okinawa and Iwo Jima) that are taking a heavy toll on our guys.
Word is already out that 8 SF soldiers have been killed and about 15 more wounded in there in last 24 hours, but the army isn't letting up.
This is as hard as the war on terror gets.... Keep up the good fight. Paraphrasing on the old saying - Evil prevails only when good men & women do not act.

Pam, absolutely. I could NOT agree with you more.
Judging from what I've been reading over the past couple days, it looks like Israeli ground forces HAVE been operating in southern Lebanon but in small formations going after limited targets.
It stands to reason that these would be either special forces or recon units trying to get a solid picture of what the main bulk of ground forces should expect.
This is going to be some tough fighting, akin to what the Marines saw on Iwo in 1945.
A dugin, suicidal enemy that has had the time to dig tunnels and underground fortifications. It's NOT going to be pretty and many an Israeli is going to give his life to erradicate this cancer from Israel's southern border.
Let's make sure that this NEVER happens again. This time, no peace, no quarter, no land swap, no pull back until these animals are extinct.
Regarding this nitwit 'evacuees':
Here's just one statement that caught my eye: “There is a guilt feeling about leaving,” said Ann Shebbo, a U.S. citizen who lives in the United Arab Emirates. “The Lebanese people should not suffer this way.”
Well, if the Lebanese people would either stand up and get Hezbollah out of their country OR quit joining Hezbollah, there wouldn't be a problem now would there?
Besides, if she feels SO guilty then stay sweetheart. By all means. Better yet, why doesn't she just go ahead and pick up a weapon and join in on the defence of her wonderful Lebanon???
Once again, the narrative playing out in the MSM is one of the poor, assaulted, innocent Muslim, just trying to get by under the agressive/murderous Israeli occupation/onslaught etc.
This sickens me.
The Israelis' have wanted nothing but peace since 1948. It is groups like Hamas, Hezzbolah, Iran, Muslims in general that are after the complete anhilation of the state of Israel and of all the Jews.
How in the WORLD did this story ever get so freakin turned around? Wait, don't answer that.. Could it BE the MSM lending credence to each and every nitwit/muslim/anit-American/Israeli towel head on the planet?
Naw, couldn't POSSIBLY be that huh?
Ok, rant over....
May G-d look down and smile upon those so few Israelis and Americans currently in harms way who are fighting to rid us of the global scourge of Islam..

I was watching Greta Van Susteren last night and one of the commentators she had on was explaining the situation in Southern Lebanon. She was saying that Hezbollah is not some separate entity, but that they are the "husbands and brothers and fathers" of the local community. Well, if that's the case, why the hell is the media so concerned about "civilian" casualties. And are all of those "civilian" casualties in Lebanon truly "civilians". If you are a terrrorist soldier who is hiding with your family after or during your day's work, then you are endangering your family. In addition, the family is then part of the terrorist support network. I am in no way advocating the killing of women and children, but, neither are the Israelis. If the terrorists don't care enough about their families to send them out of harm's way when they do their dirty business, however, it is completely their fault if their family receives the direct hits meant for them. If the media is reporting that since Hezbollah is not some separate entity the Israelis are really attacking the Lebanese populace, that is the worst form of ignorant B.S.

hi Atlas,
I was quite priviledged to be given permission to reproduce a letter from a Maltese woman who moved to Israel and now lives in Afula - where things are rather hot.
She quite spiritedly tells the rest of the world to take a hike - rather reminds me of you actually:-)
I think that you and your readres would be interested in it - her voice desreves to be given coverage - after all, Israeli civilians are all but ignored by the international media.
Here is the link, do with it as you wish

By the way, our url has changed from gardjola.org to gardjola.net - the rop was becoming a bit too upset and we needed greater ID protection..perhaps you'd like to mend teh link to our site you so kindly put up in your sidebar
All the best

Good stuff. i have a couple of dear friends in Israel right now. i pray that everyone (not just them of course), stay safe and that those who use force to push political agendas are dealt with swiftly.
Check out http://latepass.blogspot.com for my own personal rantings and ravings on the subject.

Israel: just doing the job the UN won't do. When it's all done, maybe the Israelis should send Kofi Anan and his cohorts a bill, and threaten to kick their asses too if they don't pay it.

By the way, I heard that people leaving Lebanon on chartered boats and U.S. warships are asked to sign a chit to the U.S. Government for their transportation. Cheap at any price, and cheaper than a funeral. Besides, these people knew where they were living, why is it such a surprise they have to leave? Of course, they could always stay...

Pamela - I thought you WERE the press secretary of Israel!! You are on the net daily with better Hasbara than the Israelis are getting elsewhere.
Anyway, can you find and post the pictures of the UN (UNIFIL) in Lebanon hoisting the Hezbollah flag on the UN flagpole. I think that picture needs to be out there so that the "International UN Force" idea can be shown, by visual evidence, to be a stooopid idea.

Why the heck should we feel sorry for the Lebanese people? Excuse me but aren't most of them all terrorists or did I miss something? Maybe I dreamt that they are continually bombing and killing hundreds of innocent Israeli children every day. I don't know why the Israelis don't just go ahead and nuke Lebanon and get it over and done with. Most of the civilians have evacuated - or are either dead or hospitalised anyway - and I'm pretty sure with these new nukes you can target them to blow up specific cities. Amen to that I say.
