JEW HATER KOFI: STFU
If anybody is guilty of the deaths of those UN peacekeepers -- it's Kofi. Sleep with dogs, die with fleas. Deliberately targeted?
UN: Precision missiles hit UNTSO post
Annan: IAF hit "apparently deliberate;" Olmert expresses "deep regret."
Deliberately targeted? Check out the Hezb'Allah flag and the UN flag flying side by side. Photo tip David
In recent days I wrote both here and here on how the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, UNIFL was complicit in aiding and abetting Hezb'Allah in Southern Lebanon.
So if Hizb'Allah was using the UNIFL as a shield is it any surprise that "peacekeepers" got killed? I mean, get serious. Kofi accusing Israel of deliberate murder shows what a Jew hater he really is. Not that that's a surprise.
[...] Hizb'Allah has been known to base itself right next to UNIFL forces in the hopes that Israel would inadvertantly hit UNIFL in response. This is understandable from Hizb'Allah's cynical [Cynical? savage is more like it - Atlas] perspective, but harder to fathom in relation to UNIFL's mandate to restore peace and security.
It is often noted that UNIFL failed in its mission, but even that is too kind, to the extent that implies that its presence is benign. In reality, UNIFL has provided more security to Hizb'Allah than it has to Israel increasing the likelihood of conflict and helping to make the current confilct inevitable. And I wrote here as well;
Has the world the forgotten that there have been UN peace keepers on the border in Southern Lebanon, and they used to fly the Hezbollah flag on the UN flagpole? The UN also routinely permitted Hezbollah from firing short range rockets into northern Galilee.
And last week I wrote of this;
Israeli Suspicion of UN Clouds Lebanon Force Plan
An Israeli commander at the Lebanese border recalls peering through binoculars one afternoon to see UN peacekeepers sipping tea with Hizballah guerrillas. Some Israeli leaders accuse UNIFIL of providing legitimacy to Hizballah, allowing it to build up arms. Relations between Israel and the UN plummeted after information emerged that UN peacekeepers on the Lebanon border suppressed video tapes of three soldiers being abducted by Hizballah in 2000. "We know that they had line of sight and could see the actual kidnapping. They could have put roadblocks up to prevent Hizballah from escaping. But they didn't lift a finger," said Dore Gold, former Israeli ambassador to the UN.
"There was an international force in place in 2006 and it didn't prevent the current crisis from erupting," Gold said. "What that means is that providing security for southern Lebanon requires more than a knee jerk proposal to put international forces on the ground." Efraim Halevy, a former director of Israel's Mossad, noted, "Israel has a lot of experience with multinational forces. And it has not been good." (Reuters)

Good piece on this National Review here.
July 26, 2006: Israel expressed regret over the accidental bombing of the UN observation post yesterday. Meanwhile, UN officials on the ground in Lebanon admit that Hizbollah has been deliberately mixing in with civilians for protection. Most of the Lebanese casualties have been caused by this tactic, as the Israelis must either not attack Hizbollah troops and weapons, or fire and hit the Lebanese civilians adjacent to the Hizbollah target. UPDATE: UN Repairing Roads for Hezb'Allah
This might be the jawdropper of the day, as today’s report from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon shows that the United Nations is busily repairing damaged roads in Hizballah-controlled areas—roads the IAF bombed specifically to impede Hizballah movement—right in the middle of the war. (Hat tip: mich-again.)
UNIFIL is still facing serious restrictions in its freedom of movement due to the ongoing hostilities and the extensive destruction of roads and bridges throughout the area of operation. Yesterday, a UNIFIL engineering contingent from China managed to do some repairs on a key road artery between Tyre and Naqoura, and the road is now usable for traffic. However, more road destruction was reported in various areas in the south.
UPDATE: YOu must watch this video. Note "tactical necessity." Listen to all of this
Robert sent this video to me with the following note;
Not all Canadians are Wimpy. This is a respected retired Canadian general. His interview is on a CBC Toronto radio program. hat tip Robert W
Great stuff.

Typical Koffee Onanist. Blame Israel first for everything; in no way can anything Israel does be an accident, but the killing of Israelis by Hezbollah is minor or an accident.
The UN outpost is in the middle of a war zone; bad stuff happens (not that the UN has done anything "deliberate" to prevent the occurence of this war). Hey Koffee - Israel downed two of its own helicopters the other day and killed a few of its own troops in "friendly fire" incidents. Does the almighty Onanist think this too was "deliberate".
It is time for a pro-western leader of the UN - someone who will actually "deliberate" on a matter before accusing others of "deliberate" action. Israel should sue him for slander. Is Koffee making money off of this conflict? Is Iran paying him or his son to shut up about Iran's nuclear ambitions?
Koffee is out on New Year's Eve - I'd be happy about this except that I'm sure that Ahmadikkewad will be proposed by France as the next Secretary-General.

Debka.com is covering the story as follows:
"The inadvertent Israeli air strike revealed the fact that the UN force in Lebanon includes Chinese observers. One was killed along with an Austrian, a Canadian and a Finn. The presence of Chinese observers keeping an eye on the combat in South Lebanon has never before been reported.
Our intelligence experts compare the incident to the inadvertent US bombardment which wrecked the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1998 (picture), killing a number of Chinese “diplomats.” It was discovered that from that building the Chinese had operated sophisticated surveillance to track the performance of American warplanes, missiles and smart bombs. Kofin Annan is a joke and is irrelevent to anything going on in the world.
His record and that of the rest of the UN is so abysmal it would spark revolutions if it was ever a real government. And they wonder why the average American has such low regard for the UN?
Thankfully, Annan will be out soon but not soon enough. Moe, Larry and Curley would be an improvement over this vapid, closet Islamofascist.

How will the Democrat Party be able to support both Israel and the United Nations now.
How will Clinton and Schumer pander to the 70% American Jewish voters who are against the removal of Saddam and his ability to fund and support radical Islam's determined quest to exterminate Israel while at the same time support the International United Nazi Nation?
The anti-liberal pro-totalitarian Democrat Party is in a definite quagmire.

Is it a prerequisite for anyone wanting to be a "UN Peacekeeper" to be an antisemite? Do you guys really think we are going to get anyone better than Kofi "Never Met A Terrorist Whose Butt I Didn't Want To Kiss" Annan? With our luck, the next SG will be even worse.

Annan is a terrorist and a crook. He couldn't even keep his eyes or face from darting around nor could he look at the audience while others were talking at the press conference this morning. Then he talks in that oh-so groovy, fake, lousy-mental-health-therapist voice. He is a pig.

Wretchard at Belmont Club has an analysis based on public UN reports of UNIFIL activities on the days before this happened.
Those peacekeepers were deliberately kept in great danger, caused primarily by the activities of Hezbollah inviting Israeli responses. That something untoward was going to happen was a given.
I believe Kofi's accusation was made specifically to take advantage of the current media climate to deal Israel a deliberate political blow.
The possibility must also be considered that the entire scenario was set up hoping for this outcome.

Would anyone care to explain why the U.N. has a flag? The function of a flag is to symbolize a nation -- something that's delimited and has some sort of coherent identity. Originally, a flag was just a handy marker for grunt soldiers to follow; it let them see which way the vanguard of the army was moving. But the U.N. has no army, and it's supposed to be all-inclusive, so what's up with this U.N. flag?
Next we'll be hearing about the U.N.'s official bird, flower, and cell phone supplier.

With all due respect , to call kofi an anti-semite is not to know the man. He is the furthest from one that i know, and Israel's ambassador knows this. Kofi over-reacted.Thats it, plain and simple, but he was receiving reports of strikes close to the UN post all day.Its not easy being a member of a peacekeeping mission; the rules of engagement are archaic and not suitable to today's conditions (my dad was UN ambassador for my country) ,and believe me , sometimes UN observers have to deal with monsters like Hezbullah as if they are legit.Their security is based on groups like Hezbullah believing they are neutral- thats the reality.
