Today should be an interesting day (apart from the obvious). Finally the DhimmicRATS will be forced to put their (very weak) position on paper. Finally the spineless (and the legless) will have to take a stand. They have been whining about the war on international jihadist movement (hee hee) ever since we were invaded. Iraq is very much a part on the war on the international jihadist movement . Today the debate begins and it's being put to a vote.
We Can't Walk Away (Conway's blog)
Today's debate over the war in Iraq is an opportunity for the House to address the hopes and concerns of the American people. The American people are going to be presented with a clear choice in this debate; we can maintain our resolve and continue to make progress or we can walk away from the Iraqi people when they need us most. The death of Zarqawi and the formation of a new government in Iraq are proof of the progress that continues to be made everyday in Iraq.
I met with Iraqi military leaders for the first time last week and I have seen the rise of a growing and improving Iraqi security force. Ultimately, it is up to the Iraqis to determine their long-term fate, but we have a responsibility to help defend and protect their democracy as it takes hold. In this debate we will present the facts and let the American people decide which direction they want to pursue in the central front in the War on Terror and I am looking forward to being a part of it.
