Fear Of Muslims Forces England NOT TO FLY OWN FLAG

While many think Melanie Phillips may have overstated the case inLondonistan. I think she's underestimated it.

Following warnings by extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, in which the group said that the red cross in the England flag symbolizes the ‘blood thirsty crusaders’ and the occupation of Muslims, some of the largest companies in England have ordered their workers not to wave the flags.

The flag has recently appeared in England on everything from bikinis to cars, and sold in endless versions in stores.

But the Islamic protest forced some corporations, such as cable companies NTL, Heathrow airport in London, and even the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency to ban the flag in every form due to fears from reactions of Muslims. More here

Here’s a fascinating interview with Hirsi Ali from the London Sunday Times. She has a few unkind words for Tony Blair:

“I had a good laugh when he claimed to have read the Koran from cover to cover twice: nobody has. And when he said there was no conflict between the two civilisations, he missed 600 years of history.” She pauses, breaking into a grin: “I am no longer a politician. I can say such things now.”

Pamela, the flag in question is the English one (not the British one you've put on your blog, much as I love to see that one too!) and, with the (soccer) World Cup starting at the end of this week it's being flown literally everywhere all over the country: it's inconceivable that anyone could be cowed into not doing so - indeed the UK version of the Sun is naming and shaming anyone who dares try. One of the companies cited in the article may indeed not be flying the flag - but that's because it's located in Wales which has its own national team (which hasn't qualified for the World Cup) and the Welsh and Scots are not renowned for supporting England in those sports where the four constituent components of the UK compete in their own right as is the case in football.

I can not lie, I ran that flag because the graphic fit in with Melanie Phillips description of Britian losing its belief  in itself as a nation. Wrong flag, guys ............

Hmmmm.... if someone tells ME that I can't fly or wave the AMERICAN flag for fear of offending MUSLIMS or any OTHER GROUP, I will remove the flag from the pole, fold it reverently, not letting it touch the ground.......

Oh, I don't know. I see a silver linning to all this foolishness. The Islamists push the envelope too far, awakening the sleeping giant. The multi-culti, hollier than thou crowd, march themselves into a dead end from which there will be NO retreat. The eventual slaughter may indeed be bloody, but it will be complete. I also slammed Blair on my blog when he made these statements. He also said he did not think the Quran was violent, and was even 'progressive.' That's when I knew Blair was a liar. He had not read the Quran. For one thing, you can't read the Quran as a time sequenced book. All the chapters are out of order chronologically. Ch 9 being the last (at least by most experts.) Second the Quran is useless without the Hadiths and a good synopsis guide written by a real scholar like Spencer or Sina, not some apologist for Islam like Esposito or KoranKaren Armstrong.

Yep that's when I knew, Blair is a lying bastard or a complete dhimwit. At least Bush hasn't ever said he read the Koran. Of course he hasn't and I have proof of that with one of his speeches where he misquotes verses (dedacted) or incomplete, and shows zero knowledge of abrogation, a fundamental concept to understanding the conflict between 'nice' and evil verses, why they both exist, and which supercedes the other. Nope, not a clue. But at least he doesn't lie and say he read the Quran twice!

Actually Pamela, the Union Jack, the flag which you have pictured, incorporates the 'Cross of Saint George' as it's central focus, the colorful bits around it just incorporate the Scotish saltar and signify the union of the four contries, England, Scotland, Ireland (Northern) and Wales. It is essentially superimposed on the English cross of st george. The same flag in a different guise. So our delicately sensative newcommers have much to be offended about, and together with their roccoco marxist fellow travellers must get busy, if they wish to overturn the old order. Silly wabbits!

Just Another Richard: Interesting points you make there. I will say this much: I don't know of any other time in history where national identity of ... well, white people have been put into so much disdain by intellectuals, minorities and such.

I can see with your premise that the Islamists could push too far.... in the past, they have. But on the other hand, many, many, groups, states areas and such have rolled over like a scared dog for Islam.

Look at the facts today.... Somalis, Sudanese, and Iranians are forced to adopt Arab ways through Islam. They have NO MEANS of resistance. The West does have the means, but they DON'T HAVE THE WILL!!!!

Spain rolled over for the Muslims after 3-11. How many other countries will??? Quite a few European ones, I'll bet.
